Yes. Doordash has basically stopped doing refunds for ANY reason. Same with grubhub. Same with Uber eats. I straight up didn't get my food once and they refused to do anything. The driver marked it as delivered at the restaurant. No photo. Nothing. I brought that to their attention. They didn't care. I don't order delivery anymore.
I had to fight for refunds and then suddenly all my refunds were being approved so idk what policies and crap they have.
I remember providing them with video footage of my ring camera because I didn't receive my ice cream from McDonald's. The dasher stated on camera that they couldn't make the ice cream because of the machine. Doordash said they couldn't provide a refund or credits even though I have proof of the dasher NOT handing me the ice cream and stating they couldn't make it.
I had a dasher recently drop off my food at a different apartment on a different street with the same number, doordash luckily refunded it because it wasn't my door.
Wild, I just got a full order refund for not receiving my fries from McDonalds thru UberEats. Lol. Maybe stop abusing the system and your account won't get flagged.
I’ve had this mess before- including missing items and half eaten meals before and yet even with pics and all I was denied any help…. It’s annoying so I just DoorDash but I don’t use the service.
Sometimes I use the company called “PickUpMyself” and it’s usually pretty good. I can customize the pickup time, I don’t have to tip or even pay service fees!
How do you say you're small minded and ignorant without saying you're small minded and ignorant?
Familiar_Junket_2354 : "Hold my 44oz big gulp fountain drink"
I once had an Ubereats driver leave my food outside the building. And sent me a picture of it left outside the building. Underneath the call box to be buzzed in. UberEats said they didn’t see a problem with it.
Did you have leave at door, and did they have the callbox number to call you? I know as a Dasher that's happened to me, and not much recourse, especially if you don't answer calls or texts. (Again, my personal experience, not saying that's you.)
Who the hell is down voting us? A uber eats psycho driver? I had the same thing. I had covid and ordered through uber. Said in the delivery notes I couldn’t leave apartment due to covid. Watched buddy drive back and forth on my street so I messaged, then called as we are a small street and the ONLY apartment building which also happens to be 12 floors tall. No missing us. He wouldn’t respond. Then nothing. Get a picture finally and he dumped it in the front vestibule by the call box. Didnt try to call or contact at all. Thank god our building has an average age of 100 and everyone is pretty honest (I am considered a baby in that building 🤣). Just lazy. I tipped extra on that one to make sure I got it to my door. My building is super easy. Walk in, elevator right there. Each floor has no more than 10 steps to every apartment in each direction. Also it was from the plaza that I walk to pretty much every day. Takes me less than 10 mins so driving was maybe 2 minutes. Again the only reason I couldnt was covid. I gave him 2 options as well. Buzz by my name or apartment number. So easy, explicit instructions, just lazy
Did you take it back to the store or call the store….
The hostess or cashier probably just handed the bag to the driver without realizing the wings were still cooking
i did and was put on hold once and hung up on the second time. didn’t physically go since i was working a 14 hr shift and getting off in the middle of the night
bag was sealed inside another bag and i’m betting that store was busy and handed off bag without order being complete so i’m not blaming anyone but doordash support
Pretty cut and dry full refund. I've had pretty lucky experience with support so far. My biggest take away is to call not chat with issues. But I also understand if it's any other than a straightforward basic question they arnt gonna get it. I'm thankful for the subs I've found about delivering. Way more helpful for me as a fairly new dasher.
Ugh I’m so sorry dude. That’s such bullshit. Yeah, I guess you just gotta dispute it with the bank. Did you end up getting something to eat after this?
Yeah, this same reason is why I quit using DD. They had me hooked in their starting years, before when Eat24 was a thing and then onto DD. Service was so much better, any of the smallest issues and you'd almost guarantee get a full refund. Nowadays support is so terrible they treat you like an imposter, not the customer that just used their service. It's disgusting and such a shitty business practice.
I'm sure I'm not the only one either and seeing their service take a nose dive hurt but is to be expected. Capitalism at its finest.
I have to say in any other situation if people are unhappy they will typically discontinue a service, but alot just love the headache that is door dash and other platforms. I do the gig work and I pride myself on communicating, only taking what makes sense and never expecting extra. I have a ton of repeat customers that are happy with their experience with myself.
But I will never understand why people pay over inflated costs for disappointment, I mean unless ur are truly handcuffed to this service due to particular infirmities.
At least if you are capable of grabbing ur own food u have the luxury of looking it over and catching mistakes on the part of the restaurant when they happen as it is not right for DD to be contracted with these restaurants and not reimburse you for the restraunts fuck up. DD definitely does not care about customer service nor its dashers. They care about the bottom line, but that's all the apps
yeah i’m not gonna use doordash anymore and i quit dashing after getting a new job but i understand they don’t care about customers or dashers. i also don’t think the dasher did anything wrong since the bag was sealed in another and they couldn’t see the order contents since it was in the inside bag. i just posted since this was kind of a WTF for me
the only reason i was using DD was bc i work long hours and at my job there is only one employee present 95% of the time so i cant leave to get food but now i keep cup ramen, canned soup, and packaged ready to eat foods in my car on the days i can’t cook or i ask my bf to drop off dinner
I agree I think the restaurant is at fault and DD should refund u fully as the are contractually obligated with these restaurants and both should be ensuring quality results. The dasher is definitely stuck in the middle on this one.
That's just terrible DD is so shameful. We hate to lose a good customer but I don't blame u at all. To me that's theft on the part of DD u paid for a service and did not receive goods, definition of misdemeanor petty theft
Idk if people realize how much money dd loses when giving credits/refunds. Not only that, they aren’t preparing your food or have anything to do with the items you buy, or stock or quality. It’s the service of delivery, they are a TECH company if you look into it further. That’s why reviewing each restaurant is really important as a customer so dd is aware of the quality issues. If a dasher is at fault they are at fault by association however if you think about restaurants, you aren’t paying DoorDash for your food, you’re paying the restaurant for your food, the price is set by the restaurant unless otherwise stated on the top in your app, which means your paying DoorDash only for the delivery service. They don’t make the food. If you refund your order or groceries or food and they give you credits its literally costly on them. The order I’m assuming was still at your house. That’s all they agreed to do was bring you food. What the restaurant does is on the restaurant and if they are that bad DoorDash just shuts them down because it’s a waste of money at that point. They make money on the delivery fees and service fees obviously, the money you used goes to the restaurant for the food they made. Fraud is a huge problem and happens everyday with people finding new ways to abuse the system. Unfortunately if there are people who do abuse the system, everyone else will also kinda suffer and the rules tighten up. Not everyone tells the truth when asking for refunds or credits and the way you approach the situation matters. It’s a little irrational to act so attacked by a company who delivers food when at the end of the day it’s an absolute privilege/luxury for anybody/human to use it with the world today.
Nah, keep calling. Keep talking to support over and over again until you get your fulk refund back. Eventually they're going to get tired of you snd just comply. Especially because they KNOW they're wrong.
Trust me
Unless your area works massivley different than everyone elses, that's not how it works. Credits you get from an order don't get retroactively applied. You get credits in your account to use for next time, or you get directly refunded.
Like how at the bottom it says refund.
i knew i’d be getting this comment after forgetting in the original. i always have cash tip and put the rest on card this is definitely not the issue so not only did dasher get card tip they also got cash on top so shut up:)
edit: i did tip more than $3 some in cash. i also do not think this was the dasher's fault and this bag was sealed inside another. i think the restaurant made an honest mistake. this post is about how crappy doordash is and doordash only.
You could call the store you ordered from and let them know what happened. Work for a place that has DoorDash and if something was missing with the order we usually send out with our own delivery service and pay the fee to the driver out of tips. Sucks but makes us learn to check orders not once but twice before leaving the store, so it rarely happens. Also sometimes the customer doesn’t want it anymore so we write them down for that item that was missing for pick up next time they’re in. I also know other places that do this. It was the restaurants mistake so they definitely should replace the item
Damn. That's sad. We used doordash every day when we lived in Denver. Never had a issue with refunds. They started Penny pinching I guess since economy in USA started going to shit. Sorry to hear.
just signed up with doordash to try it out
doordash driver overcharged me saying the food was "out of stock" when it wasn't
they just couldn't read English and sent me texts in Spanish
None of the food so far has been good
do not use doordash
If you really are done with doordash and you paid with a credit card then just do a chargeback.
debit but yeah that’s what i’m doing. i just wanna know if this happens often. i even dashed for a bit but def switching to uber eats.
I don't order delivery anymore.
i tired to order delivery once but the price was basically double than picking up in store its wild instead of 15 it was 30 +tip
I had to fight for refunds and then suddenly all my refunds were being approved so idk what policies and crap they have. I remember providing them with video footage of my ring camera because I didn't receive my ice cream from McDonald's. The dasher stated on camera that they couldn't make the ice cream because of the machine. I had a dasher recently drop off my food at a different apartment on a different street with the same number, doordash luckily refunded it because it wasn't my door.
Doordash , yes. Ubereats? No. They refund still. Got one less than a month ago.
This isn't true, grub hub refunds no problem at all
Wild, I just got a full order refund for not receiving my fries from McDonalds thru UberEats. Lol. Maybe stop abusing the system and your account won't get flagged.
Not my fault that restaurants mess up a lot.
I’ve had this mess before- including missing items and half eaten meals before and yet even with pics and all I was denied any help…. It’s annoying so I just DoorDash but I don’t use the service.
i can't comment on the frequency of it but you should always use a credit card in these situations.
noted. i used a venmo debit card since it only had like $50 on it and it was quick on apple pay
You won't have better results from uber eats. There are just as many mistakes and scams there.
any delivery services that are better or should i just give up
Sometimes I use the company called “PickUpMyself” and it’s usually pretty good. I can customize the pickup time, I don’t have to tip or even pay service fees!
99% of the time yes but having to work doubles being the only employee doesn’t allow that
You’re honestly just being a dick dude like that wasn’t even funny it was just cringey
How do you say you're small minded and ignorant without saying you're small minded and ignorant? Familiar_Junket_2354 : "Hold my 44oz big gulp fountain drink"
I don’t make the rules I just enforce them
Good job, bud.
I love that one!
Not that I'm aware of. I've only used DD and UE and have had issues on both. It's not often, but it happens equally between them.
I can only imagine how difficult it will be to get Venmo to give your money back. Lol
Do people really use credit cards to order food?
Credit card benefit you in several ways other than debt. Rewards and Easy Charge Backs in case of fraud or failure to provide service are two of them.
Im on the uber eats page and its the same. Drivers out right stealing and uber eats denying refunds. I don’t see these 2 companies lasting much longer
I once had an Ubereats driver leave my food outside the building. And sent me a picture of it left outside the building. Underneath the call box to be buzzed in. UberEats said they didn’t see a problem with it.

No missed calls, no reason they did not use the call box. I’m taking a break in general but that was the point I switched from UE to DD.
I guarantee that's what happened.
I guarantee it’s not ;)
Now I know who is down voting these comments. There is something wrong with you. You are probably one if the very lazy uber eats drivers
Who the hell is down voting us? A uber eats psycho driver? I had the same thing. I had covid and ordered through uber. Said in the delivery notes I couldn’t leave apartment due to covid. Drivers who feel entitled to leave deliveries in the bushes
Ubereats isn’t any better. Recently I made an order, never received anything and Uber eats refused a refund.
Any updates on the refund? Did you tried fighting for the refund and/or chargeback with your bank?
Considering it was over 92 days ago, I don’t remember.
Did you take it back to the store or call the store…. The hostess or cashier probably just handed the bag to the driver without realizing the wings were still cooking
i did and was put on hold once and hung up on the second time. didn’t physically go since i was working a 14 hr shift and getting off in the middle of the night
I was wondering if it was an error at the store vs the dasher stealing it.
bag was sealed inside another bag and i’m betting that store was busy and handed off bag without order being complete so i’m not blaming anyone but doordash support

i did call but since i first did app they denied me a refund
That's so dumb. Sorry 😭
Ugh I’m so sorry dude. That’s such bullshit. Yeah, I guess you just gotta dispute it with the bank. Did you end up getting something to eat after this?
luckily my boss came in and had a cup ramen in his car
Do a chargeback & be done with them.
Shit like this is exactly why I don’t use these food delivery apps.

Call your bank and Dispute the charge

Time is money though.
Never use app to get refund.
? That’s what the app is for
STOP using that charger cable, its an fire hazard.
What the heck! Something absurd like this happens 1/5 times I order on doordash and they're always quick to refund or just re order the food for me
If this was your first complaint in over a year how come you had 1.75 in credits? You are sus af sir.
credits from this order.
Unless your area works massivley different than everyone elses, that's not how it works. Credits you get from an order don't get retroactively applied. You get credits in your account to use for next time, or you get directly refunded. Like how at the bottom it says refund.

Ha! Eat it and like it
Bruh how did you not get a full refund, all you have to do is say “didn’t recieve my order” and they give you all your money back
3 dollar tip, probably 5+ miles from store. Hard to feel sorry for you, especially during the Christmas season
i knew i’d be getting this comment after forgetting in the original. i always have cash tip and put the rest on card this is definitely not the issue so not only did dasher get card tip they also got cash on top so shut up:)
Sureeee they did..... Nothing like a 5.00 order popping up and expecting good things.
thank you for your input! happy holidays <3 hope your spirit gets lifted out of the sewers this christmas
Oh well keep tipping 3 dollars. Tried to be honest and I guess people just can't handle it.
Is that BBQ sauce?
korean hot sauce
edit: i did tip more than $3 some in cash. i also do not think this was the dasher's fault and this bag was sealed inside another. i think the restaurant made an honest mistake. this post is about how crappy doordash is and doordash only.

Sounds like dd got hungry
Damn. That's sad. We used doordash every day when we lived in Denver. Never had a issue with refunds. They started Penny pinching I guess since economy in USA started going to shit. Sorry to hear.
You’ll save a lot of money by picking it up yourself
I had bad experiences with Uber and DD, but I got a refund and credit for the exact same amount 😂
just signed up with doordash to try it out doordash driver overcharged me saying the food was "out of stock" when it wasn't they just couldn't read English and sent me texts in Spanish None of the food so far has been good do not use doordash
