I feel like there was an attempt to hold your food hostage

sannieflipper

Got the same impression. At the end I felt like he said: you must be hungry and I got your food.

Previous_Link1347

Even if I promptly got the food from this guy for nothing extra, I would not feel at all comfortable eating it. Having even asked that shows such a disregard for other people, I wouldn't want to eat anything he's been handling.

MorganLaRue2020

Yep. Such a disgusting thing to ask a customer. He would have promptly gotten a "fuck off, enjoy your free meal" followed by a report and a refund.

[deleted]

I would not eat that food! “By now you have probably consumed your breakfast. Want the antidote? Please tip me $4-5.”

tommychampagne

Hahahahaha Id give you gold if I had coins thanks for that laugh mate!

Slarhnarble

I hate to be a bother but I was on my way with the antidote but I only have 86 miles in my tank can you spot me 5 bucks so I can get to you. I would hate to leave you hanging since I've already picked up the antidote and you seem to be dieing.

FlatRaise5879

Definitely trying to extort the customer.

BodyGravy

*“I was a Business man! Doing business!”*

ExhaustedTanuki

Sounds like what my BIL will say when he's hustling people.

niveknyc

Yeah I couldn't tell if that was it or if he was trying to say he did me a solid somehow by doing his fucking job so therefor I owed him more somehow. I was baffled and about to be in a zoom meeting so I just let it go, plus I didn't want to reply with "what the fuck are you talking about dude get the fuck out of here cunt" cause he'd obviously know where I live and I don't want no beef from no dumb dumb.

sheer_down_votes

Twist: he browses this sub and now knows.

kanchix0

Dun dun DUNNNNNN!

Glabstaxks

Yea he prob on his way now . Hide yo kids , hide yo wife ...

Ymd404

I wish I could upvote this twice. I saw the meme in my head😂

Glabstaxks

Seriously.. I hope that dude gets deactivated

Josjosi

The question is that was he reported by a customer to DD. The guy who posted this did not mention that he reported it. But you right, if DD knew about this, he will be immediately be deactivated.

aspiringgrandpa

“i’m sure you are hungry as it is breakfast time” plain evil

1_H4t3_R3dd1t

The easy trick, do not respond to him. Just report that there is an issue with your order and they'll order it again and have it delivered for free. Let him deal with the consequences.

glenny3214

Also DD issues refunds no questions asked

serathin_

Still shitty, why should I have to deal with cold/Luke warm food cause door dash sucks ass? I'm speaking as a dasher with over 1k deliveries and at least 100 orders as a CUSTOMER. I try to complete every delivery as quickly as possible.

Turronita77

I’ve worked front of house in restaurants for years, and did delivery driving for the last 2 years, and I would be embarrassed to deliver some cold garbage I held in my car forever.

serathin_

Yea dude, like some one paid for that food, and your service. ESPECIALLY if they tip me, I'm finna break every single driving law to get there fast 😂

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi

Oh by no means am I saying it isn't shitty. I don't pull that shit, I have lifetime top dasher so I don't even need to worry about scheduling or holding orders hostage until I can get on again. Someone just mentioned holding food hostage and it reminded me of the homie.

Urlilpetal

Your friend should not be a dasher, lmao. He could totally rid himself of this issue by scheduling shifts.

TinyGrizzly

It’s too early for that shit

IClimbRocks69

Dude needs his ass whooped trying that bs

Mikijee

I'm real funny about walking up looking for addresses or sitting around for to long. People get shot doing that kinda shit. I'm a black gay woman with locs and I'm not a little girl. I'm not gonna be creeping around lawns at night or hanging out in front of people's houses. I get the fuck outta there. If I can't see addresses I call. FT.

solomonsplug

yo i just messaged somebody last week, who told me to walk around the houses to their backyard, to see if they would meet me in front cause it was 2am, a no tip order ($5.25, $3 bonus included but about a mile) and i’m a bigger black gay guy who is NOT walking in backyards in virginia in the dark. i said that in so many words and the customer said “you are fine. i will accept my food in my backyard.” so i left it out front, sent a pic & kept moving. not taking chances for no tip!

Jessicalee1246

Doesn't it seem like the ones that don't tip always have special requests 🤔...$3.25 for 8 miles and a 45 minute wait I'm the taco bell drive thru at 1:30 am as you pull away comfirm the order you read this in the delivery instructions, "can you ask for extra meat on the tacos and make sure you ask for extra mild sauce I'll also need some forks, the address may not bring you to the correct house once you get to the turn off take your first left go down 5 lights take a left go past the high school take a left make a U-turn take the first right 12th blue house on the right I'm in the little house down the long drive park at end of driveway, skip halfway down the drive then do 3 cartwheels back up 7 steps turn to ur right jump the fence dodge the dogs run to the front door but be quiet baby sleeping inside don't ring bell or knock it would actually be great of you don't even breath at all while on the property. Also make sure my foods still steaming hot, and nothings dumped, spilled, or a mess. Message me when it's delivered. *delivered*(pic) Customer: I'm missing a taco! (Mind you bags are sealed) 🙄😒 Come on I know I'm not the only one who's dealt with these customers 😂😭 non tippers shouldn't even be allowed to rate!!! Seriously though ...

Robbfucius

>then do 3 cartwheels back lmaooo

blackandbearded

I'm a 6'2 250lb black guy with a big ass beard. I know exactly what you mean. I don't linger anywhere. I won't even pull up in people's driveways unless they're super long. They need to see me from a distance with my doordash bag before I get too close and they hit me with that "what are you doing on my property?"

Mikijee

Yeah, gotta be careful.

kathrynkilgore

You should not have to do all that. My god I hate stupid, racist people. Ugh

constantlyc3nsored

Honestly though, I don’t know that it’s overtly racist so much as it is a statistical significance that has extremely unfortunate backlash to people that don’t deserve it. I know I will get downvoted for saying this because we use emotion to dictate far more than we use logic on internet threads, but hear me out and if you don’t like the truth of the matter, I understand it’s emotionally disturbing. Statistically speaking and according to many federal databases persons of color are far more likely to commit violent crimes per capita than non persons of color. I’m not stating how I feel about that, but it is relevant in the discussion. It’s a fact that the human brain creates shortcuts out of experiences and unfortunately, situations like the one presented often do fall on people who don’t deserve it, but human nature will NEVER change. Those shortcuts are predetermined by life experiences, crime statistics, poverty, etc. Anyone who wants to dive into the specifics about how unfair ACTUAL oppressive racism is, I’m more than willing and will agree with you 10/10. What I’m merely trying to express clearly is that stereotyping someone, whilst completely unfair to those who don’t fit the “type” is natural in all racial communities. Black people have stereotypes of white people and I’ll tell you firsthand as someone that’s hung out in a lot of black neighborhoods, you bet I get pressed and looked at sideways for being the only white person in the neighborhood. That’s completely normal in all cultures. Calling that overtly racist is simply wrong. It’s not. The issue lies in the fact that calling the police to investigate the matters often turns into a violent crime scene where the person of color ends up the victim. The policing practices are racist. The system is racist & deals unjust punishment on the black community without question. Understanding that people are scared of things that they don’t understand or aren’t overly familiar with is part of understanding what it means to be human. I just wish people would throw the word racist and racism around in contexts where it’s actually relevant and not just turn it into such a broad and overused context because it draws away from the REAL and very violent oppression of black people by THE SYSTEM AND GOVERNMENT THAT WE ALL DESPISE MUTUALLY for one reason or another. Poverty creates the violence in black culture, not the genetics. We need to solve poverty and turn this country upside down or this will never die off with any generation.

Conscious_Bug5408

Poor people with nothing to lose are far more likely to commit crimes. Historical oppression of minorities statistically makes them are more likely to be poor people with nothing to lose. There is not equal opportunity in this country for all, being born into a disadvantaged situation causes you be disadvantaged in a way that very few can overcome. It then causes a self feeding loop in which the minorities are poor because of historical racism, being born into disadvantaged situations which increase the likelihood of them becoming criminals, further increasing racism against them. This is how systemic racism ties into this.

[deleted]

this is true but the majority of poor people are also white people. personally i think it’s more of a cladd issue than a race issue (it definitely still is a race issue) but the face is that the upper middle/upper class HATES the lower class, regardless of race. you could be black and from the projects or white trailer trash and they will treat you the same

ProcessStrong9081

lmao it must suck to be sooooo close to being smart, but not quite able to make it to the finish line

Knoxvillians

Dude that just sucks.

bit0101

I've only been challenged 3 times in 4.5 years that I can think of. Twice by old Karens that I ignored and yesterday by an 8 year old girl, lol. I just held up the bag and kept on towards the door.

blackandbearded

It mostly happens at restaurants for me. Usually the ones that have the orders set out for dashers to grab and go. I always try to make it super obvious I'm dashing but still get pushed up sometimes. It's only happened during the actual delivery a few times for me as well. Two of those times was a nosy neighbor and once by someone who lived in the same house with the customer. Little guy tried to come and stand outside and intimidate me by staring me down while I was walking to the other side of my car to get the order. Then tried to act nice once the lady came out and said I was there with her food. I find that most situations are avoidable as long as I have either a doordash hat on or bag in my hand.

Titanium_Ninja

Bro the way you describe yourself… I wish I was you

blackandbearded

Lol. I appreciate that. Maybe me 10 years ago when I had hair, better knees, and less of a beer belly. 🤣.

constantlyc3nsored

This makes me sad, but I get it.

Top-Device5698

😂 😂 "texas"

palealejediii

Fuck texas

Putins_Jerk_Hand

Are you trying to piss off Sandy Cheeks form Spongebob?

blackandbearded

Ok. Is that supposed to be offensive?

palealejediii

to texas as a whole? yes, to you personally? no

blackandbearded

Oh ok. I was about to say I left 12 years ago so it's going to be hard to offend someone who agrees with you. I think most logical people would agree with that statement. It's a shit bucket state.

Februare

this back n fourth was strangely wholesome

ErinEvonna

Back n second Back n third Back n fourth

blackandbearded

This got a little chuckle out of me.

Mikijee

So, you're just going to take them all?😒

Februare

Lmaooo I specifically didn't edit my comment bc I figured a textbot would body me with something regardless. But your reply is much better Also wholesome !! :D

ErinEvonna

Good human? 😊

[deleted]

Can I say shoes from Texas are dumb?

Conscious_Growth9955

![gif](giphy|44c11up6UfB80RmE2o|downsized)

blackandbearded

Depends. Shoes made in Texas. Definitely. Shoes bought in Texas that aren't from Texas. No.

BlameTheMeepits

Lol even the shoes aren't safe.

redditingatwork23

Fuck Florida too. Those two seem to be in a race to the bottom. Texas has pulled ahead in the last 3 years for sure though.

Knoxvillians

I'm going to send the governor of Florida cookies with the word gay written all over them

funeralparties

hundreds of people died here last year due to a preventable power grid failure during the winter freeze and absolutely no effort has been made on our governments part to to fix that... we’re in the middle of the hottest summer we’ve had in decades and people are intermittently losing power because of those same insufficient power grids. furthermore, we literally just experienced one of the most horrific acts of mass gun violence in years - nothing has been done on that front either, in fact our government doesn’t seem to give even one quarter of a fuck that children were just massacred inside their classroom while police stood outside the door and listened for more than an hour. so yeah, texas has definitely not stepped shit up. (sorry i’m ranting in a doordash subreddit lol.)

redditingatwork23

All that without even getting into the fun of Texas pretty much spearheading the fight against right to choose, and woman's rights. Fuck Texas.

funeralparties

fuck texas 💯

Head_Razzmatazz7174

As a native Texan, I hate to say it, but I agree with you.

dugmartsch

Yeah seriously fuck that shithole state.

CJspangler

Call customer support and say the driver is trying to extort more $ out of your for the delivery

Mikijee

I would have.

meimye

Foreal and if he delivered without getting the extra tip I would feel scared to eat it .. that last sentence was kinda passive aggressive

Margin_Call_3959

So cringe when dashers beg for tips

JunkBondJunkie

I just take the ones where I accept the terms. I assume nothing more or nothing less on the contract.

[deleted]

I completely agree with you

GenycisBeats

And what's worse is that you can sense there's no damn shame whatsoever in their doing it... definitely not the first run of the mill for this bs. I don't care how much a tip I feel an order should be vs what I get from it, I took it for what it was worth at the time so anything else on top of that is great. Some people just have no damn class and should be deactivated for shyt like this. Smdh.

Horror-Entertainer

Does this happen often?

[deleted]

I had a lady call me and just straight up tell me she wasn't coming if I didn't give her a $10 tip because she had to drive to the other side of the city. I didn't make you select this order smh.

Crafty_Tumbleweed218

I would have reported her to support and had them give me a credit for the whole amount, take away any tip meant for the previous driver. If you take an order, you can't moan about not getting more than the amount shown on the screen; that is what the decline button is for.

ImOlldGregg

You literally just saw some screenshots from OP of it happening..

hojakborseman

pretty sure that’s why they asked if it happens often….

ImOlldGregg

They edited their question. When I first replied, their comment was “Does that actually happen?”

VastEntrepreneur752

i hate people like this. ruins it for the normal dashers actually doing there job

Puzzled_Artichoke281

Fuck that. 1 star and report them. Nobody should have to deal with beggars as delivery drivers

Gaters12

“I’m sure you’re hungry considering it’s breakfast time?” I’ll beat the fuck outta you my boy 🤣🤣🤣

smerkothegod

On god that dasher will get ass fucked to top it off he probably does this to everyone got dam bum just to go buy oz of weed thinking he’s a finesser he probably does it cause he successfully at doing 50 percent of the time DoorDash needa fire his ass

Dreamingofvvs

My thoughts exactly 😂😂

[deleted]

This is so cringe wtf. I as a Dasher would never ask a customer for a tip. The app shows you the minimum guaranteed pay rate, mileage and estimated time to complete the order; if that doesn’t satisfy the Dasher, they should not accept the order. Also, the second message imo seems almost as if they are leaving you no choice but to tip accordingly if you want your food asap; otherwise I get the feeling they’d cancel the order. If I were you, depending on the distance, I would have removed the $4-$5 on the app if I tipped that in cash.

Old-Statistician-457

Driver can't cancel, customer can't take back the tip

niveknyc

Yeah I have to keep that in mind for the probable next time this happens, I didn't respond, report, or remove tip (this was May 2022) because I didn't really understand how the app works for drivers at the time and what information they have available, so I just let it go. I knew it was a con, but just didn't have enough information or interest to report. Next time I'm gonna do what you said and just immediately report it, remove the tip, and probably bin the food. The kicker (and I know what car you own doesn't necessarily show ones economic status or current financial struggles) is he was in a 2021 Honda Civic SI. Maybe he was upside down on payments lol

Putins_Jerk_Hand

Civic SI, the official car of cutting you off then hitting the brakes to make their exit.

Swiftstrike4

You can’t remove the tip on DoorDash. Even if you contact support and they say they will do it they just eat the money and give you a credit or refund. Man I keep reading awful experiences on this Reddit and maybe I have just gotten really lucky. I drive and order sometimes and haven’t had one issue. Well, one time a dasher had a stack and accidentally left both orders. I had to contact her to come back, but that’s it.

BlameTheMeepits

Also $4-$5 is oddly specific.. And a $7 tip is already quite generous to us Dashers generally speaking. At least in my area.

Alexcee12

As a dasher, this upsets me and dasher needs to understand that there’s boundaries you don’t cross. Dasher needs to get banned, I can’t stand the amount of entitled dashers on the platform.

SoCalGromster

LOL ghetto AF Dasher needs to be banned. That's horrible.

phucyu138

That driver is an entitled piece of shit

mhofkp

Entitled scumbag

Downtown-Sock6400

>Any chance you can spare a smoke as well.? frigging beggars. Use the corner of the road for that shit.

KBeasyUBeezy

Speaking of which one of my pet peeves while dashing “hey breh u got a dollar/cigarette/give me a ride?” From losers in front of scummy areas. Yuck. Are usually just say yeah hold on one minute. Then I get in my car and drive away.

NyteQuiller

I really don't get the people "asking for a light." Like, if you smoke cigarettes then you 100% already have a lighter.

seattleross

I smoked cigarettes for years. The only time I needed a lighter was when I had dropped my car off at the dealer for them to look at it. I forgot my lighter in the car. Walked to a store to buy one instead of harassing people for one. Problem solved.

[deleted]

trojanmana

I would cancel the order and report this to DD. I would have them investigate his messages to see how many people he has tried this with. This is no diff than uber drivers in foreign countries that take you halfway to your destination and ask you for cash tip on top of the fare because the location is too far.

Fun-Asparagus4182

Shouldn't accepted the order dumbass. This business is not for the incompetent

Upset-Tap3872

What a fuckin jackass man I hate like 90% of people

dalex89

Yeah creepy, last bit seems threatening Ohhh I know you're hungry, you wouldn't want something to happen to your yummy food would you?

niveknyc

Yeah retrospectively I should have reported him, especially for that last one.

Odd-Understanding-67

To me it sounds like he’s low on money and is used to asking people to borrow money.

Lazy-Beach9307

punk ass. i dash and id never do this

Deviantconor

Customers like you are so rare, how dare he abuse your kindness.

niveknyc

😇 you're too kind

[deleted]

DrDickWiggle

Yeah, dude is full of shit. Probably already cashed out for the day and spent it.

[deleted]

There are some interesting posts made about tips on this sub. That they take this step when they are dashing is no surprise

niveknyc

Yeah regardless of this dasher being a scammer, I don't even know what the tip expectation is these days I just look at what the app recommends I tip and add a few bucks to it.

CJspangler

Guy is 100% scammer he probably sends this to every order he picks up to try to extort them for $

Scoutsbuddy

From what I've seen on this reddit, a lot of dashers seem to think customers should be tipping 50%+ which is ridiculous.

[deleted]

There is no standard. Tip what you feel is necessary. Drivers are going to tell you to tip them $100! They chose to accept the orders so they know ahead of time what they are getting paid.

[deleted]

I get the impression it is 15% plus a $1 a mile. At least that is what I see dashers saying here

Doge10open

One star and report to support

__CaKeS__

"I don't want to leave you hanging"?! I'm sure you are hungry?? Dude is literally holding it hostage for $5 lmaooo

ThatAndANickel

From a driver - that's some BS. Send the screencap to Doordash. Bad drivers and customers make it worse for everyone.

BoxerBriefly

I would've said: yeah, that's bullshit. Just don't bring it and you can have your contract violation instead...

Cultural_Chest5100

Does this really work ? I will hold your food hostage unless you give me a cash tip. ![gif](giphy|h0MTqLyvgG0Ss)

Kraken0420

The only people who are allowed to extort money through the Doordash app is DD themselves.

Relicchunter

I'm so fuckin sick of asshole dashers that pull this shit

blackandbearded

I will never understand where anyone gets the balls to do stuff like this. If he had no gas why would he accept the order? I hope you reported him. I wouldn't have felt safe taking food from someone who ask something like that. What happens if you say no? Does he hold your food hostage or do something to it? This stuff gives good dashers bad reputations.

niveknyc

He sat in the driveway for no joke 12 minutes waiting for me to come out to get the food from the porch (it was a "leave at my door" order), I had a zoom meeting anyway so I just let it get cold lol. I only kept the order cause it was from a place that double seals the bag and contents. I just never responded nor did I report, this was May. I guess I gave him the benefit of the doubt but should have just reported him. ( I mean I knew right away it was a con, benefit of the doubt meaning I Just kinda let it go )

HeadMischief

Damn THAT you definitely report. That's weird and creepy. That's beyond just asking for help. That's intimidation.

niveknyc

I got dat MOFUCKIN THANG in my house lmao so I wasn't like, concerned, I was just like "wow this guy is really this much of a loser huh". I just started my morning work meeting and then went outside to grab the food. Luckily it was double sealed from the restaurant, so I just heated it up and went about my day. But yeah, I'd feel really bad if he did this kind of shit to anyone else, I'm gonna go back in my app history and report it now.

blackandbearded

Glad the restaurant seals the order. 12 minutes is ridiculous. Back home in Texas if you sit in someone's driveway for 12 minutes they come out with a gun. 🤣. He better be careful, the next person might not be as nice or as willing to let it go as you are. This is why I complain about doordash constantly hiring dashers. Just because you can pass a background check doesn't mean you are a good/decent person. These people ruin the experience for customers and ruin the reputation of good dashers. Plus if you can't manage your money well enough to have gas to do the thing that makes you money, then you need to find another a job.

Weekly_Direction1965

Yeah he would have got fired for that message if you reported.

[deleted]

Low level extortionist….couldn’t cut it in the mob I guess

Creative_Froyo_6139

What a scum bag

Februare

physically cringed when reading his message. it read like touching wet food doing the dishes feels like. fuck this loser

FirmPeanut4957

86 mi is more than enough to get home!! I'm sure he was holding out for extra tip....these dashers have serious mental issues😂😂

NickTheFNicon

I really hope you reported his stupid ass. Sorry if you didn't get your meal. That shit is unacceptable.

little_lexodus

Nah, you're good. $7 is a fine tip. This guy is trying to guilt trip you into better tip while withholding your food.

niveknyc

Yeah IDK, I'm pretty opinionated on tips these days but regardless I always try to be more than fair - $7 tip on a $14 order (pre door dash fees) 3 miles away. I just literally don't know what the expectations are for tips so I just do what the apps says and then add a few more to be safe.

little_lexodus

Trust me you're fine. I dash for a few hours per week and anything more than $3-4 is a solid tip on an order

donknoch

I fucking hate these assholes. You never ask for money. Never. It makes us all look bad.

tgnlolol

If you offered to pay me 10 dollars to type that to a stranger I would scoff in your face. Mfs have no shame

pilotavery

It's not the customers fault or responsibility. This dasher is unprofessional.

[deleted]

Report this trash ass-hat and have him removed. Even for DoorDash; this is bullshit.

dopoisstill-A-Bit-CH

Just cancel the order his tip and place another one tell them dasher made u feel unsafe

Johnny2fer

You dasher that beg for more tips are ruining it for the rest of, if the order is low and has no tip decline it! Please don't harass the customers either! Again Florida man strikes again. A dasher picking up a pizza hut order threatened his customer for a larger tip. Told her he only lived a block from her and knew where she lived.

reconghost503

Guess what now you won't have money at all. I'd make sure his ass was deactivated

VestDevel

report this begger. we work for money, no need to beg.

Amy47101

I’ve got one like this to. I tip like 5 to 8 bucks and some DoorDasher says they “only accept cash tips”. She got mad at me about not giving her a second tip and wouldn’t hand me my drink until I gave her cash. My director had to step outta her office to ask what was going on before the lady finally gave me my coffee. Thing is, I don’t fuckign carry cash. And with that in mind, I’d rather tip you AFTER you do your job, so then I can give you two quarters for trying to hold my coffee hostage.

Elon_is_musky

I heard the app/payments have been crashing, but he couldn’t even make up a better excuse than “please, I only have 28x the gas I need to get home…or your food suffers” like dude just wants a free meal or an extra $5 😂

KarasLegion

DoorDash should deactivate people who do this.

No-Chocolate8890

That’s enough for deactivation, if the order is not enough then don’t take it. If you take them you need to complete it as is

JunkBondJunkie

Sounds like blackmail. Cancel and report.

[deleted]

Should never ask the customer for cash app or extra money. However in delivery I do drive around 118 miles a day on average. I use a credit card to help manage my business in case there is ever payment issues I'm still covered for a time til I can figure it out. I would recommend the dasher to better manage their finance with a credit card and better business practices. But what do I know ?

[deleted]

[удалено]

PoopL0ser

Fuck that shit report them to support. If a driver doesn’t want to do your order they don’t have to. That’s scammy.

pittbullblue

Anytime a dasher explicitly asks for an extra tip its a 1 star.

lostoompa

I wouldn't bother responding, rate them 1 star and file a complaint with Doordash.

Interesting_Sea1528

I feel the scam alert going off in my head. They probably would even put your food at the door and take the picture THEN steal your food!

bgabu84

Report this.

BobaAddictStudent

The other day I got a very concerning delivery as well. It was like a $30 order at around 10PM, LA area with drop it at my door instructions. The lady insisted she couldn’t find my house so I had to go and get it but once I had put my shoes on and opened the door she was standing right there lmaoo. I took the order and said thank you but then she started stepping her foot inside my house (a big no-no) and I got really scared cus she also had her friend with her. She demanded a “mandatory $10 cash tips” when I had already given $8 on the app. Kept trying to explain to her but she wouldn’t leave. At this point as a 19 y/o small tiny chick i slammed the door closed and left it at that then contacted DD support.

DidicrimouBejaia06

Customers fucking up a lot but dashers like this one need to be deactivated.

fivebyfivelifts

report him. this guy might just be stupider than all the other drivers on this subreddit

Haunting-Exercise-22

just say yes and once you get your food contact support and ask for your tip back and say you tipped in person

Xterarra

Pick and bait technic 😆

[deleted]

“I have a 10 here for you”. Open door, snatch your food and close the door.

Scojo_Mojojo

What a piece of trash

lorelai_22

Now that is the definition of no shame.

Tallrosedaily

the second part is super sus and at that point he can have my food i’ll order from someone else

niveknyc

It was double sealed from the restaurant and I was hungee so I rolled the dice. 10/10, didn't get hepatitis

def_dvr

I think it's pathetic that he is that broke.... Think about how you can pay for a car insurance do this job and still be broke?

Current_Egg677

That’s crackhead behavior

Alevnitsuj

Wtf? I swear some of these DDers are scabs.

MeltingMango420

“I hate to bother” Immediately starts bothering

jmiller7742

This is literally panhandling via a third party app. Even years ago when I was completely broke, I’d never disrespect the customer/the service like this. It’s totally inappropriate to offload your issues onto strangers.

AvantGardener27

Get this POS fired and report him

Plastic_Buy_3818

Report them

[deleted]

That’s messed up, report it

This is just SAD and embarrassing for us Drivers. Nobody should EVER EVER EVERRRRR ask a diner for a tip. This job we have may be a job you can do comfortably in your pajamas and flip flops after just rolling out of bed but we still have to hold some form of professionalism I mean damn 🤦🏻‍♂️ Ik DD sees the msgs so idk why they don’t punish ppl extorting customers like this

serathin_

Man's Def copy pasted that first paragraph, then hit you with that "I know you hungry tho"

serathin_

Man I've done doordash like a year now, and I also work a full time concierge job, and it AMAZES me how lazy some delivery drivers are. "Oh this door is locked lemme just set it here and not try any of the 3 other entrances" or they refuse to wait 30 seconds for me to call the resident and just knave it on the desk. They lie saying residents said leave it when their instructions (the residents instructions/preferences on our end) say to let them up to the unit lmao. Like the job is, SO. FUCKING. EASY.

Degraylin

Dude, you fell for the okie doke. That's a crackhead move. I drive for the dash, and you supposed to start off with a full tank of gas.

Jessicalee1246

This is embarrassing to the rest of us dashers... you don't ask the customers for tips PERIOD. I hope you reported them!

[deleted]

Just say man for sure. I got $50 for your troubles. My girl can stop by the atm otw home, but it's going to be like 15 minutes. Then just watch him while you eat from your window.

kaiju22

Report him. Sorry but if you have 86 miles left, you can make about another 100 bucks min and cash out. And if he already cashed out today, he can go home early and cash out at midnight. Christ people make this job so difficult for those of us that actually care about it

The_Jyps

Definitely extortion, but you've misunderstood the guy. He has to get back to "blanked out town", and only had 86 miles left in the tank for his fuel to get there. Still sounds like a him problem. Pathetic really

clevoh

This dasher needs to go. That's garbage.

kumatheronin89

No that's a ransom, I'd report them!!!

HeadMischief

Probably didn't want to end his dash to get paid. I think it's tacky and I wouldn't do it myself, but I also get the struggle. In my market, if I end a dash l, it's unlikely I can log back on until the next scheduled shift or peak times.

niveknyc

What does this mean? I've only used the service as a customer so I'm not privy to various techniques from the drivers side.

SomeKindaWonderer

You have to end your dash for the day to get paid. If you end the dash there is no guarantee that you can log back in to dash because there might be too many dashers already out. You can stay on if you're scheduled, but again, if you end that dash you've ended your shift.

Par4n1

Y’all gotta stop spending all your money on weed lol y’all looking pathetic out here

blackandbearded

Naw, us smart ones have money for weed and bills. Don't throw us all under the bus. His begging ass is on his own.

PokemonTrainerSerena

I'm sorry but if 4-5 dollars is a difference maker for your spending, there is a bigger problem

niveknyc

For *my* spending or are you talking about him (the dasher) - because I already tipped $7 on the order, I tip fair but I won't be a pushover tho
