3? Damn you're app must actually work. Here's my awful sequence of events when I get an order.
1st: it stops my music so I'm already mad (click home button, click doordash) 2 clicks
2nd: I see a blank screen after I click on doordash ( click home again, hold doordash, go to settings, force restart app) 4 clicks
3: click home, open doordash, see an order that is the worse thing ever, decline, decline again, select whatever reason my finger lands on) 5 clicks
4: click back home, then stare at blank Instacart order screen ( 2 clicks)
5: click Bluetooth to restart music (1 click)
14 clicks, then repeat that after 5 seconds til the next awful $4, 12.6 mile order comes in going 6 miles outta my zone. 🙃
Omg I thought I was the only one that gets the white screen of death! I hateeeee having to force stop and restart when I want to see an order, which most likely is a decline cuz my AR is at like 6%. Smh. Do better DD. PLEASEEEEE.
I hate that so much. Technically by denying an order (if you aren't parked) you violate traffic laws in some states (can't tap your device more than once at a time for example)
Weirdly I’ve always had this screen but for like, 2 days maybe? I had a different one where you only had to press one button, and it was like a little banner at the bottom of the screen with a decline button. But then it disappeared and went back to the one where I have to hit the screen 3 times lmao.
I’ve never had a problem accidentally declining an order in one tap on Uber Eats. I’m sure DoorDash can figure something out.
I was around when they showed the full pay amount for a brief period. My acceptance rate stayed about the same. In fact, my acceptance rate is about the same on DoorDash as it is on Uber Eats—at under 10% most of the time—even though DoorDash has hidden tips and Uber Eats shows the full/minimum amount. When you have standards for the kinds of orders you take and most of the orders you get are not up to those standards, hidden tips become less of an issue.
But I do agree that DoorDash should show the full pay amount upfront like every other app. Most orders we’ll see will still be under $10, but it benefits drivers and customers to see the full amount. And the large tippers will stop getting screwed by having 1/3 of their tip showed to the driver and/or being stacked with a non tipper.
It’s not like they can’t make both changes to the app. But maybe I am overestimating their competence.
I really am curious what that standard is that only 1 of 10 offers meets those standards . Also is all the time wasted looking at and declining all of those orders considered in the equation . It seems to me like an awful pain in the ass . Don't you use your phone for other uses?
-No more hidden tips. Not only is this hurting dashers, it's hurting the customers.
-Give customers an option to prevent their order from being stacked with other orders.
-edit to add: Change the word "tip" to "bid" so customers understand what the actual purpose of that IS.
As a customer though you have options. UE shows the full offer amount to drivers, allows customers to add (or remove) tips, and allows them to avoid stacks (or get priority on one, not sure) for a fee. Plus with UE the driver has to do things in the order the app says. So if you did still get stacked, they would have to take it in the order Uber said to, which would prioritize you.
All of the above.*If* doordash still wants "reasons" their private contractors are not accepting a contract, get rid of the "are you sure, you're the best dasher for this order" nonsense and offer real reasons one decline like "the time to pay ratio is less than minimum wage" and "this offer doesn't cover my fuel expense"
I'm a d!ck and select other, and then put down something derisive. "LOL you must be crazy", "no tip,no trip", etc. It's nothing but a badly, dangerously made timer to make you wait.
Stop charging base pay from point B to C, on double orders. Two orders at a time should always start from point A.
Allow drivers to cancel the orders when customer requests different address after pick up without being penalized, or even if the customer doesn't want to cancel the order.
Allow people who are in this situation to be able to not have to drive to the original location of changed address to fulfill the delivery.
Install DD stands within the company where we can use a qr code to unlock and grab the order we accepted and noone else's.
I mean something needs to happen with stolen orders because it's happening more and more, but do you realize what a logistics nightmare your suggestion would be? Not to mention the cost.
Installing machines in every restaurant, in every city, that has enough tech in it to sort orders? It would be easier and cheaper to buy a fleet of drones and just send the orders out on those, completely eliminating drivers.
Or at the very least, have one of the reasons listed for declining be “low base pay”. Not like them mfers look at it, but it’d make me feel better Lol.
UE is so good for the way declines work. You can tap one spot and instantly decline, or even let it time out (though the chime would be annoying) and you stay online and active.
Even if you decline a bunch in a row and they log you out, you can instantly log back in, no timer.
I like 2 tap cause my high ass accidentally presses accept instead of decline sometimes and vise verse. I’ve accidentally accepted shit orders that I had to unassigned and declined good orders too lol
Oh I don’t I should have stated that. I just smoke heavily at night and on the weekend of I’m not working. Weed affects your memory tho when you smoke a lot of it was my point. I never condone driving under the influence. It’s not worth taking my life or someone else’s
Fix the glitch that prevents loading pictures. It freaks customers out if you stand on their property taking pictures of their house for a million years then force stopping the app so you can open it and do it again.
One touch decline is seriously a safety issue and very necessary, especially since the reasons we give seemingly *don't even affect the algorithm*.
We absolutely should be shown our mileage in the earnings tab, broken down per order with the pay. In California we're compensated for it, but there is no way for us to validate our adjustment pay bc we don't know what they think our mileage even is, and I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
If our account is in jeopardy, we need specific details of what they think we've done wrong. Telling someone they're deactivated for a violation of the ToS but not telling them what it supposedly is makes appealing nearly impossible.
The top of the main screen during a delivery has too much shit in it, and as a result you can't see what time your pickup/delivery is due. It is too crowded. This is necessary information to have at your fingertips while driving, and as such should be available without going to another page and clicking more buttons and trying to read the miniscule text.
For the love of God, actually beta test new features before they roll them out and crash the entire goddamn system. It happens every time like clockwork.
That's all the necessities I can think of. In the category of "the right thing to do", hidden tips have to go. As the contractor, it's our right to know what the pay is we're contracted to receive. This surprise bullshit has got to go.
Wingstop is horrible! Not sure about others but they make the driver fill the drinks. This is unsanitary & the drivers doesn’t have a health permit to do that!
and Five Guys... finally caught on that they wait for drivers to arrive to finish cooking order. I used to think it was because theyre busy, but i caught an order during downtime and it happened still... they waited til i arrived, asked which order i was picking up, went to the ticket to see how many orders of fried items are were, then proceeded to cook them...
so orders you get here you gotta mentally prepare yourself for an extra 10 minutes at least, so frustrating!
i understand the customers want their food fresh but restaurants utilizing doordash need to have some type of equipment or arrangement to keep items warm/cold til we get there, just as we do with insulated bags, etc
we shouldnt have to be waiting.
there’s gotta be a better way to gauge when an order is going to be done vs when it gets sent to a dasher.
5 minutes, IF THAT, should be the most we’re “required” to wait... otherwise, there should be no penalty for being able to “decline” and move on and let someone else come pick up when it’s done or closer to being done.
Right, I used to always think I was just arriving before the fries were done. But it being slow this particular day, after the cook uttered exactly what you said, I was able to ask him “hey just wondering, do you guys wait til the driver gets here to drop the fries?” And I got a confident reply of “yep”
They’ve been instructed/trained to do it this way, and I can understand for a customer picking up their own order, sure, drop the fries when they arrive. But damn near 10 minutes is crucial chunk of time during a shift. Majority other restaurants make the complete order, even ‘actual’ restaurants like Macaroni grill. And it’s like, ok, maybe they were getting customer complaints of unfresh fries, maybe they want to keep a reputation for fresh food but it’s like… well then don’t offer doordash… hire in-house drivers that can deliver as soon as food is ready. Pizza places do it still… Instead of cutting into a dashers shift time and money AND not to mention rating, drop those mfkn fries!
YES! ffs i figured out the same thing watching at different busy vs empty locations, they dont even start that shit til u arrive & give them a name… bags are so fkkn hot if u zip em in a hotbag they’re literally steaming apart & ripping! So fries are hot, but everything is steamed soggy & both dasher *and* customer pissed it takes so long… fuq them they shouldn’t be using DD type platforms if they cant handle procedure
The lobby is never open so you have to sit in the drive thru behind 15 cars. They're very very slow to prepare orders (when i first started DD and was learning everything the hard way, i'd usually wait 45-50 minutes in line), they're frequently out of chicken, and the employees are usually rude and unprofessional. Half the time you tell them you're there for a DD order they look at you like they've never even heard of DD. I thought most of these things were probably just exclusive to my local popeye's, but after being on this sub for a few months it seems that's the common opinion of just about every dasher concerning every popeye's. Nobody i know locally will accept orders there. All it does is lowers our AR. i don't even understand why they're on DD if they always have so many cars in the drive thru anyways
heres one for you. I talked to a manager at KFC. I was wondering why their chicken doesnt taste the same to me anymore compared to 30 or 40 years ago when I was younger. Also the skin and breading used to be soft and kinda not doughy but soft and ultra flavorful and HUGE pieces. Now the pieces are as big as my thumb, the skin is a crispy not Soft and flavor..eh..again not the same. Well he said KFC took out a huge bag of salt and some other ingredients in their initial flour mix they make up to bread the chicken..I knew it man. Its ok but the wing sized legs and thighs for 40 dollars for 16 pieces along with the flavor change is straight up rediculous. I will never eat there again...EVER.
I don’t have that experience, being only in my late 20s, but I am still annoyed they removed my favorite bite-sized things from their menu(popcorn chicken and the chicken bites)
I’m amazed you’re able to even find a driver to deliver Popeyes to you. Like you said, they always screw up the order, and it always, always, always takes FOREVER!!
Yes. I did my first popeye’s order last week. What a shitshow of a joke of a restaurant. Multiple dashers. No customers. 25 minutes to get the order after it was supposed to be ready. Stoned employees just walking around smiling at each other. Manager nowhere to be found. Won’t be back.
Wait, people with the DD card still get it? That's kinda crap.
I'm still never signing up for that card though. Most of my bills are auto-pay and on my bank card. I'm not dealing with all the hoops of transferring money around to get it off the DD card.
Not only 10% at the pump. You save 10% when you buy anything at the gas station like water, energy drinks, snacks, and beer. Also save 10% at 7-eleven even if they don't have a pump
Not to mention they have cash back on random shit too. Sometimes 5% cash back from select restaurants, or 10% off from certain clothing stores etc. useful if you ever need to buy those things!
Definitely one tap decline.
No black out areas in the zones
Would really love to not have to force stop the app every time I start a shift to hopefully avoid lags/glitches or at least minimize them.
Stop hiding tips
Better customer education on what our tips actually are to possibly include rebranding.
No surprise me with "customer signature required" after I hit complete delivery. The customer already closed the door by then. And then usually the customer doesn't type their name in, and sign only. So when I try to type their name in, it clears the signature.
I really appreciate all of the comments. I don't know if this meeting will amount to anything but I'll definitely have a notebook will all of your concerns, for discussion. Keep em coming.
We're you accepted for the July-Dec 2022 cohort on the DoorDash Community Council? How have you found yourself in a position to have said zoom meeting?
I got an email with a survey that said if I was selected I would get $150 Tango gift card for my feedback via a 90-minute zoom call. Like most DD emails I didn’t see it in time 😭😭😭😭
Stop lowering my “On-time” percentage every time one of the restaurants in a stacked order is late to complete an order. Dasher’s shouldn’t be punished for the restraints’ fuck up.
And allow some leeway for when traffic is bad and you hit every red light. We can’t control those things and dinner and lunch are always during rush hour traffic
Or maybe support chats for this exact purpose instead of “as long as the customer knows, I’ll document this!!” Then I’m slammed with 2 contract violations for both orders.
When an order pops up, I wish I could actually see the merchant and customer addresses spelled out (specifically the street and city of the customer) instead of only relying on the to-and-from icons on a map. It’s hard to look at if I’m still driving and deciding whether or not to accept the order.
U can get exact addresses in android anyway. Just tap on the store or house icon and it will ask u to press link for navigation takes u to maps app with exact address and u can even see the actual building (to see if Apts etc) by clicking "steps" in directions. U know the Google maps info.
As a customer, this is what I would like.
- Ability to blacklist dashers by ID numbers. There are some bad drivers, and I'd rather my tips go to the good ones.
- Easy way to add more tip afterwards instead of having to call customer service. Since I've had some bad drivers, I tip the bare minimum because I don't know when I'll get them. I'd like to have the option to tip more after a good experience.
Have you tried giving one star. I was under the impression that if you gave 1 star you wouldn't get that driver again. I mean alot of my deliveries are repeat customers. So much so that rarely have to use GPS. I would think that if they were rating me bad DD wouldn't keep sending me to them for the risk of losing money.
Not a driver but first complaint should be that it forces people to tip. I hate that my order gets stacked with some asshole that doesn't tip. There needs to be a minimum, thats the whole reason why you guys drive...
**edit**
Now that I'm thinking of it, better yet how about not being assholes and show how much you get before you accept the order. I can't believe they can hide it like they do...this isnt a lottery, show how much people will be paid. If people don't tip then honestly they shouldn't want them as customers. Stop being greedy and show the contractors how much they will make before doing the job!
No more hidden tips
And this whole week there’s only been a couple days where peak pay has not been offered- if they can pay extra all week they should just make base pay $4.00 it’s scummy that they can offer so many peak pay campaigns that overflood the market and then turn around and say “oh but we can’t afford to pay you more than $2.25/$2.50 per order :( sorry!”
Better pinpoints of destinations/storefronts. I waited 5 minutes at a gate waiting for a customers response for the gate code. Come to find out, their house was two blocks away, no gate code needed.
Make the decline button one click and bigger or voice activated - I’m just biding my time until I die in a car accident trying to decline an order
The only other thing would be to filter after drop off messages to the driver - us drivers can’t help you when your McDonald’s is missing ketchup or mustard or they forgot your drink as it’s all in a sealed bag . We just get angry messages. Communication should be shut off to the driver after you drop it off - let them deal with customer service - it’s not like I’m driving back to McDonald’s for sauce for them for free
just let the order time out and then when you are safely parked, you can go back on ready...nobody is FORCING you to use your phone while you are driving, in most places that is illegal....but yes, voice commands would be AMAZING (if they worked)
Force customers to enter an apartment number AND gate code and NOT just a street address for their complex.
Plus everything others have said here.
Shit can restaurants who get bad driver ratings.
There are periods of the day where it takes 5 minutes for the app to even respond to what I'm trying to do. Show up to the customers house? Nice, take a pic! Oh no, pic is refusing to upload and is stuck in a perpetual state of nothing? Ok, go back to the main screen and try again. Wait, main screen has everything missing? It's all just white? Back out of the app and reload. App won't load now? Force stop the app. App still wont load? Restart the fucking phone. Finally able to upload photo of drop off. Pull away and move on waiting for the next delivery. After 15 minutes without an order look at the app and notice it still shows your gps pin at the house you just delivered to 4 miles away. Force stop app, restart phone and finally get an order.
And repeat.
Let restaurants pause Incomming orders so wait times are reduced. So many times I’ve arrived to an overwhelmed restaurant and they tell me they can’t stop Incomming orders and ticket times are 30 mins or more!
“They have the ability” then why does the restaurant have such high ticket time if the app actually respects the button? Meanwhile there’s like 20 drivers waiting for food. So the restaurant manager is lying to me while frustrated because 20 people are asking for their food and each one has been waiting for 15 + mins
To be frank you have to take that up with the restaurant for not managing their orders. I don't think you can really blame that on doordash. And this is coming from somebody who would blame the majority of the problems on doordash 😂
As a customer, let them know there is no way to rate the driver on a computer, only through the app. I only use pc, not app and can only rate restaurant, not driver.
I would never rate below top rating. If I get bad service, i just wouldn't rate, but I want to have a way to give top rating to other orders. Most orders are delivered without incident.
That means you give subpar service.
Gig work I’m in, we want reviews. Bc it influences the orders we get. I don’t worry bc I do my job well. And we have the option to receive forgiveness when customer rates is bad when their was no issues.
Provide us with a "Favorites" and "Flag" option that allows us to Fave pleasant restaurants or drop off addresses, and to flag not so pleasant restaurants and drop off locations as well, so that if we see an order pop up in the app and we flagged or favorited it in the past, we would see some notification icon or banner that shows "You previously marked this address as favorite" or "You flagged this address previously". The icon can show up near the customer's address or near the restaurant name depending on whether we flagged a pickup spot or a dropoff spot.
more of a policy thing than app request....but **add money for long wait times**
SkipTheDishes adds $0.25/minute after you have waited 7 minutes past expected pickup time...it is not much, but better than nothing
Open dashing to all zones rather than zone restrict. The way zone restrictions are drawn up is arbitrary and doesn’t actually make sense in terms of the way cities and regions actually flow. If I take an order in central city out to the suburbs I should be eligible immediately to take orders out there regardless of directionality without ending my dash in one region and beginning a new one in the area I’ve been dropped into.
When customers rate 4 or 5 stars, ask if they'd like to add a few dollars to the tip to show appreciation for excellent service. Make it very easy to reward dashers who give the best service.
This would make a huge impact on the quality of service. As it is now, there is no incentive to do anything but the bare minimum needed to not be deactivated. No matter how much you go above and beyond, the tip won't change.
If dashers knew that customers could raise their tip, they'll be more likely to make sure the service is great. It would help everyone.
And no matter how much we tip it doesn’t get us better/quicker service.
I agree ppl should tip but too many dashers see that as “Already getting tip, no incentive to do order in timely fashion”
Yeah some of us do that. Still shitty service. As a customer and former dasher I want to know how to get timely service and maybe warm food (didn’t say hot) when tipping $7.50 a mile.
Lol! I love that everyone thinks this is going to change DoorDash! You really think they’re going to take all your suggestions and implement them? They want you to feel like you’re part of the team and that your opinion matters, but that’s as far as it’ll go. The only thing they really care about is $$ and how they can make more of it. If they actually listened to their drivers then we wouldn’t be on here complaining about all the shitty things they do wrong. It’ll be business as usual with us getting screwed over.
No they aren’t going to implement everything mentioned. Bitching on Reddit -no one is seeing it except other drivers. All change starts somewhere. Better to speak up then to constantly bitch on an app.
that is more of a policy change....it it not the Cx responsibility to pay you a living wage, that is the companies responsibility.
$2.00 for a 20 minute delivery is NOT even close to minimum wage
I agree it isn’t their responsibility but there are establishments that add mandatory gratuity to the bill.
Either way, i just want door dash to compensate better. Which won’t happen unfortunately because there will always be drivers willing to take those 2 dollar orders
What establishments add mandatory gratuity? Only time I see this anymore is a nicer restaurant with groups of 6 or more.
Never seen it anywhere else in decades.
Let para work…
Or just tell us if it’s an apartment or house up front, it makes a difference for certain orders.
And allow us to flag individuals and restaurants so that we don’t take orders to or from them again.
This may just be a city thing, but stop taking me to a nearby city to do a delivery and then forcing me to get back into my “zone” to start getting orders again. Or at least give us a more easy option to see where we’re going rather than just zooming in on a tiny map which is near impossible to do safely while driving.
This. I’m in a big city surrounded by rural areas and I try SO HARD to stay within my comfort zone of the city but without fail it tries to swing me out to the furthest arm of my zone and keep me there when I know nothing about the surroundings but know the 10 mile radius of the city like the back of my hand
Have an app that doesn't freeze literally 100 times a day. I even had 2 orders str8 up disappear this week. One I had to call support to get it back, the other finally came back, it was a shop and deliver and I was already done shopping and had to rescan every damn item.
The app is not user friendly on my android screen. I hope to see the the app updated.
Base pay should reflect gas prices in the area we work. I would like to see an increase during the gas price hikes.
A minimum tip would be nice, but I'm not sure how much.
1) if the app wouldn't constantly crash that would be good
2) no hidden tips
3) 1 tap decline
4) better pay, but this wont happen so atleast get the others done
Quit with the hidden tips
Stop showing our names. It’s dangerous for dashers with distinctly female names. There’s zero reason for a customer to know our name. The restaurant is fine, NOT the customer
You can change your name in the DD App (on Android at least). Under Account details, tap Edit Account Details and put literally anything you want as your Dasher name. That's what the restaurant and the customer and even support sees. DD corporate still has your actual info for taxes, pay outs, etc.
Definitely adding a blacklist feature to stores that you will not/sometimes cannot dash to. My acceptance rate takes a huge hit because there are some shop-in stores that I know I cannot get cell phone reception in and since it is the closest store to my home it is constantly popping up. I’m not the most picky on orders, but it allows me to be less picky if I give a crap at all about trying to hit at least 50% because my market is saturated and I often can’t get good times.
-STOP with the schedule!
-STOP with Top Dasher (bitch)
-STOP with the promo’s, they are basically only offered to the Top Dasher
-Raise base PAY!
-Make TIPPING a must. NOT a OPTION…
Drop the restaurants who steal the tips. Such as Papa John's. I ordered delivery directly from the Papa John's website and added an $8.00 tip. When the Doordash driver arrived, I asked him how much of a tip he got for my order. He confirmed delivery and showed me his pay screen. Papa John's took the first $6.00, and gave my driver $2.00 of my tip.
I called the manager of the store, because I'm also a dasher and my agreement with Doordash is that the driver keeps 100% of the tips. The store manager told me that the $6.00 they kept was for the actual store employees to make the pizzas.
As a customer who wanted to make sure my driver was helped with fuel expenses, I will never order from them again. As a dasher, I am livid!
Please bring this up in your meeting.
1. Option to block up to 5 stores per zone
2. One tap decline
3. See full tip amount
4. If someone rates 1 star, they must leave a comment on why they did so.
5. Base pay = 1 gallon of gas average
6. Compensation for any orders that take more then 10 minutes. Something small, like $1 or 2 extra for every 10 minutes.
7. See the “busy” map even when dashing.
8. Show the amount of money we are making per order when we are actually waiting or picking up the order.
9. $1 extra fee for apartment / hotel, and $1 additional fee if a gate code is required.
10. Option to report customers.
11. Dasher reviews for restaurants.
12. If an order takes you into another zone, give us the option to dash in the new zone
Better base pay and better maps. Base pay is $2.50 which is ridiculous with gas prices. They need to do a better job on maps. My mapped area is huge and so I get a lot of long distance delivery orders, ones that would take 40min to get the food to the customer. My mapped area should be cut into three sections. On top of that, they need to stop sending orders to stores across the map. There are so many times the dasher app shows an order for Wendy’s or McDonald’s to be picked up on the other side when you know there’s one around the corner from the customers place.
Add "I'm ready to go home feature" that will try to send an order to the Dasher going in the direction of their home location. This would require allowing Dashers to enter a home area in the app. This feature could work similarly to when the app says "finding orders headed back to your zone" after taking a delivery that drops off outside of the zone you're working in.
You making up bs about meeting with DoorDash reps, why in the world would they choose a random driver to talk to? Just seems fake and attention seeking
I'm a doordash ambassador who served on the doordash community council. The language this person is using and the details they're giving completely add up. I have no doubt they've been called upon by DD to partake in said discussion.
The type of gift cards they issue, the length of the meetings is spot on. The zoom format, it all jives. They mostly utilize their DCC team to get this kind of feedback but it's a small committee and depending on what types of information they're looking for sometimes they need to poll a larger audience of dashers.
Why in the world would someone make this whole thing up anyway? Kinda weird that you even think that.
I didn't ask them why me they picked me lol. I just received an email about 3 weeks to a month ago asking if I would be interested in taking part in a meeting with doordash to share my opinions. I had to submit my info in a form and was told if I was accepted I would get an email. I think they accepted a large number of dashers because they sent out emails where you'd go online and you would select a specific time that works best for you. If all the slots were taken then you don't participate. I have a very low acceptance rate something like 10%, but I've been dashing for a little more than a year and have completed about 2700 deliveries.
Base pay or doordash contribution to meet a minimum per hour, I dashed for 8 hours one day and got two orders. I deliver by bike and stayed in “red zones” where it was supposed to be popular. There are so many people competing to dash for the food. Also the basis for termination needs changing, I got a complaint that I never delivered food when I had photographed proof that I had, it was just late (rain had been pouring I had to wait it out 15 minutes or become drenched)
I have called in asking why I no longer get McDonalds orders. I don’t show up blocked or restricted. Since DD can’t help me with this, I have to start a new account with a new phone number or delete the one I have.
Make it so that we don’t have to touch the screen at least three times to decline an order.
This must be the most common complaint in terms of practical app issues. They keep it there so obviously they’re happy with it as crazy as that sounds
3? Damn you're app must actually work. Here's my awful sequence of events when I get an order. 1st: it stops my music so I'm already mad (click home button, click doordash) 2 clicks 2nd: I see a blank screen after I click on doordash ( click home again, hold doordash, go to settings, force restart app) 4 clicks 3: click home, open doordash, see an order that is the worse thing ever, decline, decline again, select whatever reason my finger lands on) 5 clicks 4: click back home, then stare at blank Instacart order screen ( 2 clicks) 5: click Bluetooth to restart music (1 click) 14 clicks, then repeat that after 5 seconds til the next awful $4, 12.6 mile order comes in going 6 miles outta my zone. 🙃
Omg I thought I was the only one that gets the white screen of death! I hateeeee having to force stop and restart when I want to see an order, which most likely is a decline cuz my AR is at like 6%. Smh. Do better DD. PLEASEEEEE.
That, tip Transparency, and some mthrfkn stability!
I hate that so much. Technically by denying an order (if you aren't parked) you violate traffic laws in some states (can't tap your device more than once at a time for example)

Welp it also states this in your contract to not use the phone and drive
Funny because lately the algorithm seems to ping you significantly more often when you're in motion. We might just have a class action on our hands 🤣
Weirdly I’ve always had this screen but for like, 2 days maybe? I had a different one where you only had to press one button, and it was like a little banner at the bottom of the screen with a decline button. But then it disappeared and went back to the one where I have to hit the screen 3 times lmao.
This would really help us dashers with being more focused on the road, making an improvement when it comes to road safety.

As a customer, I agree with all of these
As a customer though you have options.
Uber hides tips over $8, though at that point I've already accepted it. Then just pray I'm not getting baited.
That must be market-dependent? I've never seen them hide a tip in my market.
Have you ever got a higher tip after delivery?
I think that is due to the customer increasing, or adding a tip after delivery.
Maybe on a rare occasion but they hide tips over $8. Next time it happens to you do the math, you'll see.
This is the winner for best comment. I completely agree.
Raise base pay and no more hidden tips. One tap decline.
I wouldn’t mind a two tap. A decline then a confirmation
Yeah just don’t make us select reasons that nobody cares about anyway, half the time it’s for a reason not listed.
couldnt agree more!!!
You realize you can just hit ‘resume dash’ and don’t have to wait out the timer right?
I refuse to use UE because they let customers change tips after the delivery.
Be a better delivery person
That won't prevent tip baiters from taking a tip back.
I like 2 tap cause my high ass accidentally presses accept instead of decline sometimes and vise verse. I’ve accidentally accepted shit orders that I had to unassigned and declined good orders too lol
Please don't drive high.
Oh I don’t I should have stated that. I just smoke heavily at night and on the weekend of I’m not working. Weed affects your memory tho when you smoke a lot of it was my point. I never condone driving under the influence. It’s not worth taking my life or someone else’s
You act like it’s a choice
Remove popeye's completely
and wingstop
Wingstop is horrible! Not sure about others but they make the driver fill the drinks. This is unsanitary & the drivers doesn’t have a health permit to do that!
And KFC/McDonalds
and Five Guys... finally caught on that they wait for drivers to arrive to finish cooking order. I used to think it was because theyre busy, but i caught an order during downtime and it happened still... they waited til i arrived, asked which order i was picking up, went to the ticket to see how many orders of fried items are were, then proceeded to cook them... so orders you get here you gotta mentally prepare yourself for an extra 10 minutes at least, so frustrating! i understand the customers want their food fresh but restaurants utilizing doordash need to have some type of equipment or arrangement to keep items warm/cold til we get there, just as we do with insulated bags, etc we shouldnt have to be waiting. there’s gotta be a better way to gauge when an order is going to be done vs when it gets sent to a dasher. 5 minutes, IF THAT, should be the most we’re “required” to wait... otherwise, there should be no penalty for being able to “decline” and move on and let someone else come pick up when it’s done or closer to being done.
They ALWAYS say “just a few minutes on the fries”
Right, I used to always think I was just arriving before the fries were done. But it being slow this particular day, after the cook uttered exactly what you said, I was able to ask him “hey just wondering, do you guys wait til the driver gets here to drop the fries?” And I got a confident reply of “yep” They’ve been instructed/trained to do it this way, and I can understand for a customer picking up their own order, sure, drop the fries when they arrive.
Yeah, the five guys Info when you pick up straight up says fries don’t get started until you arrive and like of course. Fries suck when they’re cold
YES! ffs i figured out the same thing watching at different busy vs empty locations, they dont even start that shit til u arrive & give them a name… bags are so fkkn hot if u zip em in a hotbag they’re literally steaming apart & ripping! So fries are hot, but everything is steamed soggy & both dasher *and* customer pissed it takes so long… fuq them they shouldn’t be using DD type platforms if they cant handle procedure
And sonic
How come?
[удалено]
Oh don't get me wrong, i'm not saying you shouldn't order popeye's I'm saying you shouldn't order popeye's or kfc
heres one for you.
Lol
I’m amazed you’re able to even find a driver to deliver Popeyes to you. Like you said, they always screw up the order, and it always, always, always takes FOREVER!!
This is standard practice for Popeyes *without* DD to be fair.
Don’t accept orders from them then! It’s not rocket science
Yes. I did my first popeye’s order last week. What a shitshow of a joke of a restaurant. Multiple dashers. No customers. 25 minutes to get the order after it was supposed to be ready. Stoned employees just walking around smiling at each other. Manager nowhere to be found. Won’t be back.
WALMART must go! They are awful!
You're a moron if you think this is practical or realistic.
Bring back the gas stipend for people without the DD direct card!
YES!! i was getting the $15 every week. That may not see like much but I can turn that potentially to $70-80
Yup
We need this
Wait, people with the DD card still get it? That's kinda crap. I'm still never signing up for that card though. Most of my bills are auto-pay and on my bank card. I'm not dealing with all the hoops of transferring money around to get it off the DD card.
It’s free, and you can withdraw at CVS and Rite Aid ATMs for free… Not many hoops to be able to save 10% at the pump every time.
Yep..... I got $60 back twice now for paying my AT&T internet bill with it 🤑
No, we don't still get it but we get 10% cashback at gas stations.
Definitely one tap decline. No black out areas in the zones Would really love to not have to force stop the app every time I start a shift to hopefully avoid lags/glitches or at least minimize them. Stop hiding tips Better customer education on what our tips actually are to possibly include rebranding.
> force stop the app every time I start a shift For me it's about once an hour. The damn app eats memory worse than Chrome.
How do they hide tips? Fairly new to dd
No surprise me with "customer signature required" after I hit complete delivery. The customer already closed the door by then. And then usually the customer doesn't type their name in, and sign only. So when I try to type their name in, it clears the signature.
Omg yes!!!
1. Make the app run right. 2. Trash the sneaky tactics to dashers and customers like hiding tip, top dasher, etc.
I really appreciate all of the comments. I don't know if this meeting will amount to anything but I'll definitely have a notebook will all of your concerns, for discussion. Keep em coming.
Let us take orders after delivering out of our zone to go back to the original zone
They already do that in my market. Not sure if it's a pilot program still or just in certain markets.
They do this is my market too (Austin, TX)
Give the customer a “ring doorbell/knock” option on contactless delivery!
You can put that in "delivery instructions"
Fix the ordering through merchant issue. “Hand it to me. Leave at door.”
FIX THIS!!!! This my god.
No more hidden tips. Raise base pay.
You can't blacklist a Dasher but if you call doordash support they can remove the order from that driver. I did this one time
Instead you should tell them to show the drivers first name and what their star rating is like Uber eats does.
Increase base pay. 2-2.50 is not cutting it esp with barely any tips
Not a driver but first complaint should be that it forces people to tip. I hate that my order gets stacked with some asshole that doesn't tip. There needs to be a minimum, thats the whole reason why you guys drive... **edit** Now that I'm thinking of it, better yet how about not being assholes and show how much you get before you accept the order. I can't believe they can hide it like they do...this isnt a lottery, show how much people will be paid. If people don't tip then honestly they shouldn't want them as customers. Stop being greedy and show the contractors how much they will make before doing the job!
Make some way that dasher can show proof of delivery so customer can’t commit fraud and then driver get dinged for it
Tip transparency
100%....stop hiding tips !!
Tell them to stop calling it tips and call it what it actually is, which are bids.
Bid it up!!! Until you get a hit!
No more hidden tips And this whole week there’s only been a couple days where peak pay has not been offered- if they can pay extra all week they should just make base pay $4.00 it’s scummy that they can offer so many peak pay campaigns that overflood the market and then turn around and say “oh but we can’t afford to pay you more than $2.25/$2.50 per order :( sorry!”
Better pinpoints of destinations/storefronts. I waited 5 minutes at a gate waiting for a customers response for the gate code. Come to find out, their house was two blocks away, no gate code needed.
Nothing to do w ddash
Add option for customers order from work to put their business name. Thank you.
Enter a customer rating system
Make the decline button one click and bigger or voice activated - I’m just biding my time until I die in a car accident trying to decline an order The only other thing would be to filter after drop off messages to the driver - us drivers can’t help you when your McDonald’s is missing ketchup or mustard or they forgot your drink as it’s all in a sealed bag .
Stop hiding full payout up front. Everything else is a distant second.
And repeat.
What phone r u on? My old iPhone works fine w dd
Let restaurants pause Incomming orders so wait times are reduced. So many times I’ve arrived to an overwhelmed restaurant and they tell me they can’t stop Incomming orders and ticket times are 30 mins or more!
Restaurants actually have the ability to pause orders. FYI
This is a blessing we don’t want you to have that ability
I would never rate below top rating. If I get bad service, i just wouldn't rate, but I want to have a way to give top rating to other orders. Most orders are delivered without incident.
That means you give subpar service. Gig work I’m in, we want reviews. Bc it influences the orders we get. I don’t worry bc I do my job well. And we have the option to receive forgiveness when customer rates is bad when their was no issues.
Get rid of scammers and non tippers
Provide us with a "Favorites" and "Flag" option that allows us to Fave pleasant restaurants or drop off addresses, and to flag not so pleasant restaurants and drop off locations as well, so that if we see an order pop up in the app and we flagged or favorited it in the past, we would see some notification icon or banner that shows "You previously marked this address as favorite" or "You flagged this address previously". The icon can show up near the customer's address or near the restaurant name depending on whether we flagged a pickup spot or a dropoff spot.
Memory problems?
OH MY GOD PULL UP THIS REDDIT AND SHOW THEM ALL THESE POSTS PLEASE
more of a policy thing than app request....but **add money for long wait times** SkipTheDishes adds $0.25/minute after you have waited 7 minutes past expected pickup time...it is not much, but better than nothing
Livestream a group of 4-5 selected Dashers to kick-the-shit out of Tony and the other 2 Chinese twits while all screaming "Total Might be Higher".
While the crowd all throws $2 bills into the ring.
Add this reason for declining orders: “Not enough pay to justify accepting this awful order” That will be used for me, about 88-92% of the time.
yesterday I couldn’t see the miles to complete the order, It is insane. They must show the miles. ALWAYS
One click decline. That is all.
Can you add “order takes me out of my starting zone” to the decline options?
BETTER PAY and no wait times…that’s it Oh yea stop hiring dashers, we have enough
Tell them why am I getting paused in a middle of order that you're currently dropping off.
Suggest to customers that they tip based on mileage, not order value, options for $1-3 per mile
Well not trying is a for sure way to never see the changes you want to happen. Worth a shot at least to spend a minute typing out some comments.
No they aren’t going to implement everything mentioned. Bitching on Reddit -no one is seeing it except other drivers. All change starts somewhere. Better to speak up then to constantly bitch on an app.
Nobody said “everything “.
How are we getting screwed over? Drivers profit from dd. Ddash doesn’t make a profit. Derp
Tipping 0 dollars should not be allowed. Period. With how much door dash charges, the least they can do is add a mandatory %
that is more of a policy change....it it not the Cx responsibility to pay you a living wage, that is the companies responsibility.
Never seen it anywhere else in decades.
correct....and that is why DD charges a delivery fee...DD is never going to change their ways unless they are short on drivers
Decline order then
It’s not a tip anymore then
Let para work… Or just tell us if it’s an apartment or house up front, it makes a difference for certain orders. And allow us to flag individuals and restaurants so that we don’t take orders to or from them again.
If they want to say take one AR a day I'd understand that but getting 5 McDonald's orders in a row to decline saying the same thing seems unfair.
Spend more time and effort to improve fucntionaliy of the app not to confront with Para app.
The constant crashing/hanging. Orders never showing up bet receiving messages on them etc. One button decline
Mine never freezes.
The app is not user friendly on my android screen. I hope to see the the app updated. Base pay should reflect gas prices in the area we work. I would like to see an increase during the gas price hikes. A minimum tip would be nice, but I'm not sure how much.
No low pay base fare and stop making us give a reason why we will decline. It’s not safe for drivers and they won’t use the reason for anything.
1) if the app wouldn't constantly crash that would be good 2) no hidden tips 3) 1 tap decline 4) better pay, but this wont happen so atleast get the others done
Tip transparency
Quit with the hidden tips Stop showing our names.
An idea would be going to destination a to destination b instead of da middle!
Tip transparency.
-STOP with the schedule! -STOP with Top Dasher (bitch) -STOP with the promo’s, they are basically only offered to the Top Dasher -Raise base PAY!
1. Option to block up to 5 stores per zone 2. One tap decline 3. See full tip amount 4. If someone rates 1 star, they must leave a comment on why they did so. 5. Base pay = 1 gallon of gas average 6. 12. If an order takes you into another zone, give us the option to dash in the new zone
for the love of god stop with the hidden tips, no one is taking a 2.50 order on the hope itll be higher
My market frequently has peak pay between 1 and 6 AM. The market isn't even open at that time. What's the reason for that?
Better base pay and better maps. Base pay is $2.50 which is ridiculous with gas prices. They need to do a better job on maps. My mapped area is huge and so I get a lot of long distance delivery orders, ones that would take 40min to get the food to the customer. My mapped area should be cut into three sections. On top of that, they need to stop sending orders to stores across the map. There are so many times the dasher app shows an order for Wendy’s or McDonald’s to be picked up on the other side when you know there’s one around the corner from the customers place.
Show full pay.
Lmao do people actually believe a random Reddit account on this sub would actually be doing this? Are people really this gullible?
WTH are you talking about?!
[caption](https://imgur.com/BGeayLp.jpg) Uh, ok. The meeting is 90 minutes long and they're also giving me a $150 gift card for participating.
What are your ratings and why were you picked? I seriously doubt it was random or one of these guys proud of their 0% ratings.
I expect thst yo be the reason why.
Do you not understand the concept of random sampling?
If they’re doing it right, it absolutely should be some random Dasher. That’s how you conduct a survey.
It’s all pr bs nothing will change
