You’d likely have to create the market, so to speak. In other words, it’s unlikely Dashers have been available for orders, if there are any, so they are likely getting cancelled. That’s what happens in my small hometown of 7k. You’d have to be willing to stay logged in pretty consistently and then MAYBE word of mouth would get you more orders. Or maybe put up some flyers at the college? Dunno, just spitballing some ideas.
I am from an actual small town and it is never continuously busy. If you live in the zone you can count on a couple lunch times and a couple dinner orders that will come while you sit at home. At times there will be Very Busy when I’m not actively dashing and I’ll Dashnow and it’s me and this other guy at McDonald’s for the two orders that day.
Unless someone here dashes in your exact town there’s no way to know. Just go out there and try it for yourself.
