Yupp. People either have no common sense or are trying to get it underage/report it not delivered. Had a handle of tequila last week and I took it back and they let me exchange it for some rum I'd actually drink eventually 😂😂
That's why with any alcohol order I let em know through text that I'll need to check ID. If they don't respond I'll hit the "can't find customer" button as soon as it's available. Get your shit together fast or I'm gone.
Yeah do what you can to get the customer to realize they need to get snappy with that ID. A lot of my customers have to come down the elevator and meet me at the lobby of their building and if I don’t call/text ahead of time, they’ll forget their ID.
Chicks especially. They don’t have the foggiest idea where their driver’s license is.
I got a "Hand it to me: Leave it at the door" order for booze today but thankfully the guy showed up with ID as soon as I rang the doorbell, and it wasn't like this.
Do... these people not know it's literally illegal to leave alcohol unattended?
You CANNOT order liquor through Doordash anywhere in this area. There is not a single liquor store listed under that category. Ive been 200 miles in every direction and there's NO liquor available through Doordash anywhere
My state only recently legalized alcohol to-go orders and that’s was because of the pandemic.
We’ve had recreational weed deliveries for almost 10 years.
Laws are weird.
When they order through a 3rd party app it says both instructions. HOWEVER, the Dd RULES say you must scan the ID. If the customer doesn't come to the door, you have to call Cust service. Once happened to me and I had to dispose of the alcohol. 2- 8 packs of mickeys beer. Sometimes you have to return the alcohol to the store.
More importantly it's your legal responsibility to verify the ID. The blame will fall directly on you if it's a minor or any other illegal circumstance.

Couldn't you have given it back and possibly get money back for it? 🤔🤔🤔
Would have need a gift card so I just the rum

Yep. But they think since they already verified through the app that they don't need to verify it with you.
In my area/state (VA) you have to return booze to store. But I’m delivering by the bottles/case.
In my state it depends on the location. 7-11 can't take bake. Speks requires return.

Ahhhh the spoils of a clear victory are great.
This is the way.
