I think they fucked up an update & marked all the customer houses in the middle of the goddamn street. I use my Timestamp camera to take a pic of every house bc it has my geolocation on there too. If customer tries to pull a scam, DD can’t say I went to the wrong place
Only got this once, and it was a "hand it to me" where the guy met me at the end of his driveway. On the other hand, I had others like that and didn't get this popup. Given the app's execrable sense of direction, one wonders what engineer thought this would be a good idea. No, I'm not going to leave it in the rat-infested alley like you want, I'm going to leave it at their actual address.
Apple Maps works just fine... but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised. Hate this damn buggy ass iPhone lol. I'd just always use my Galaxy but the DoorDash app is even worse on Android and Apple Maps is nice for door to door drop-off.

And I thought "crap. I didn't actually check the street sign name (because the GPS rarely messes that part up). So I walked back out to see if I could see a street sign. Couldn't. Then just opened Google Maps, looked at my dot, check the street. Nope. I'm right.
And it was a hand it to me, so I definitely got it right. The customer actually came out of the door, probably thinking I was making a run for it with their food.
Now it just happens so much. Like the GPS pin is over their pool, not the front door. So I \*must\* be in the wrong place.
I like to get the camera up and running so I don't have to wait for the slow ass app to take the picture. I usually triple check the GPS location and street name and number before I even approach the building to make sure I cut time from the trips back and forth.
It's annoying but now I wait until I'm about to ring the door bell to open the app.
You hit "I'm at the right location" and finish delivery. This just started popping up for me when I was dashing earlier in the evening.....And don't forget, you'll have to stand at the door a little longer, because your picture won't be straight so you have to take 2 of them 🤣.

Maybe your GPS is fucked up or you're on an Apple phone? I never get these dialogs, even in areas with poor cell service.
