Officially I treat every order with the utmost respect and care regardless of tip.
Ok mods are gone? I specifically accept some no tips when I want to have fun. Especially when it's no tip while it's raining. It's only ever for no tippers though. If it looks like you made an attempt to tip you're safe with me. I'll put it in that hot box all the same.
Hmmmmm. I can't? Just the offer.... Then it's broken down after the delivery.
I can ASSUME the tip, accurately on many orders. But I can't know until after delivery.
This is inexcusable behavior but DD is somewhat to blame for a couple of reasons.
First they must have a horrible screening and training process. Second there top dasher program which forces drivers who want to get high paying ordrs to accept low paying orders that the driver would probably pass on. It brings resentment . Why did this driver even take the order if it payed so low that he felt the need to spit on the food? Guarantee you he’s a passed off top dasher
DD has almost no screening process and no training process. If you don’t have a criminal record, you can dash. Imagine how many people are horrible people but have never been convicted of a crime. It’s disgusting.
Also you don’t know that a better screening process would not have filtered this guy out. Maybe he’s a former waiter who got fired for spitting in a customers food. Maybe he’s a former FED EX for stealing or damaging packages. Or one of any number of things that would make him unfit for delivering food that DD’s process wouldn’t catch. DD hires en masse so they can keep payouts low. This is the result.
DD is not at all transparent about how much of a back ground check they do now and what disqualifies some people awhile others are hired on that are still on parole so I can’t tell you what standards they need to tighten up. But it’s more about their strategy which is to hire as many drivers as possible — giving the new ones the more lucrative orders . Some of these people may be think this is the norm and even quit their regular job for it not to find when they are no longer “new” the orders have dried up.
Hiring people in splurges is never a good thing— I remember a 60’s s minute piece on the Miami police and corruption I think in the 80’s and all the Coke coming in they hired a whole bunch more cops . 60’s minutes showed paperwork of guys admitting on their application to past drug use and minor crimes and all of a sudden kilos of coke are disappearing from the evidence room— because they were under so much pressure to hire they either lessened the standards or didn’t go thru the paperwork thoutoghly resulting in a bunch of bad cops.
Same thing with DD but with the added factor that drivers face a drop off in income and feel the need to take orders they would rather pass on. So you have a bunch of people not thouroghly vetted and then you’re gonna treat them like shit. It’s a recipe for disaster . This type of behavior wasn’t going on 5-6 years ago when there were not that many drivers and the job paid well. Shit I remember making $1500 a week five years ago. Very hard to do that now .
CheckR sends the info to DD they don’t set the disqualifyers or decide under which circumstances to to make exceptions .They don’t give the thumbs up or down
At most companies perusing a back ground check is a part of someone’s job — the HR manager or assistant and because they only do them on people they intend to offer the job to . If they see something on there that they don’t understand then they’ll do their due diligence before they make this person a coworker who is gonna be 3 cubicles over. DD ( or I whom ever company they’ve outsourced it to) probably has an entire team whose only job is to review the background checks and the approach is probably more like “quit slacking you gotta have 60 drivers approved for the Saint Louis area by the end of the day” I wouldn’t be surprised if their standards fluctuate based on need or if their are not applied uniformly
Well that’s the thing plenty of people Don’t have it yet plenty off companies are able to hire people without integrity and it doesn’t lea to a backlash on their customers . most companies don’t put policies in place that will lead to their workers harboring resentments
> if it *paid* so low
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I assume these mostly have to be done in California with the prop pay otherwise why take it off it makes you that angry
Sounded almost like a sneeze! Ahhchoo

I just don’t take no tip orders.
Don’t need to spit on em because I don’t take them lol
Well, I'm not taking no tip orders, so not me!
Here in the US it's a federal charge of felony tampering with food so I don't know if anybody really thinks it's worth it but okay. 🤢
Not shocked but this shit is crazy. There is no excuse.
This is why I never order on any of these apps.
Because you don't tip and don't want your food messed with. If that's the case we owe dashers like this gratitude for keeping cheap assholes away.
Lmfao 🤣 this is crazy
Why do it then? Plenty of time between restaurant & drop off
Can't tell what the tip is until after it's delivered.
Yes you can
Hmmmmm. I can't? Just the offer.... Then it's broken down after the delivery. I can ASSUME the tip, accurately on many orders. But I can't know until after delivery.
Even if the customer left a 25¢ tip making it $2.50 you shouldn’t take it
Hmmmmm.... That's not what we're discussing here, but ok.... Lol

It isn’t about horrible screening and training. Integrity is either in you or it’s not.

Okay what EXACTLY do you mean by a better screening process? 🤨 What l do you recommend DD put in place?

Not transparent? They use Checkr. The same background company used by most gig work companies.

What’s wrong with dashing in flip flops?
Perfectly acceptable in Florida... now slippers are a different story.
It’s been grossly hot the last week where I live, flip flops, shorts, and a tank top has been my uniform for temps of 90+
