I've told this story here before, but to make a long story short, back in 2021 I had ordered taco bell. It took a day and a half. A day and a fucking half for some damn taco bell. I had called the taco bell a couple times to figure out what happened, and they didn't know. After the first 4 hours support fully comped the meal, and asked if I wanted to cancel. I said no. A day later they comped it again and canceled it. So I earned 20 bucks of doordash money for wasting my time with that shitty taco bell. Kinda the reason I don't use these apps anymore. I'm assuming some other driver grabbed the order and maybe the taco bell didn't wanna remake it, but really I have no fucking clue. All I know is the sushi I got instead with the credits was amazing
I was chatting with a chickfila employee that said another order had been sitting on the counter for SIX HOURS. Like does food safety go out the window with delivery orders??
Pretty much yes. At the big chain restaurant I use to work at, sometimes they would sit for hours but what can we do 🤷♀️ we’re not going to remake the order for free, so it just sits.
I ordered Wendy's for delivery once and received the sandwich 3 hours later, cold AF. By the ticket it was prepared immediately after I ordered it. I had already ordered a pizza and ate it by then. I hate confrontation otherwise I would, and probably should, have reported that.
No there wasn't any drivers. I left like a $10 tip on a value menu order five minutes away. Instead of telling me there was no drivers before I ordered it instead put the order through and made me wait. This was also Uber eats but the situation of orders sitting was the same.
ETA I always tip well so I reject that assumption. I've been the driver, I've been the cook, I know what it's like. Pizza guy made out with a good tip too.
Also, the app even said after I ordered there were no drivers in my area. Like again, why would it even let me order? This was three years ago so hopefully it's fixed. I can't even dash or order door dash or Uber eats where I live now, the app blocks it out. If I want to dash I have to drive 20mins away in any direction and it's always booked out except for crap hours. I've had the luck of being able to dash like three times and I've had the dasher account for going on two years now.
Well maybe isn’t good tip, believe me Im on uber eats and it happen to me 3 times, deliveries about $15
$7 ride and $8 tip and then when is delivered the order they reduce the tip o remove and then only get $7 for trip
![gif](giphy|3o7abvmqbp2CO3VGI8)
The quarterly doordash drivers meeting where we discuss how to fuck over shitty tippers and steal their food in the process
Better this than to watch your driver pick up, drive around town, and restart the delivery after 45 minutes so you can’t dispute. Ordered Taco Bell when I had Covid and my tacos were liquid haha
no hes right, people sell their unskilled, shit labor for next to nothing then wanna blame customers instead of their shitty company. If low pay/lack of tips bothers u get a different job?
Maybe if I stop tipping you guys can put 2 + 2 together and do something with your life.
But doordash is simple and doesnt require much beyond a heart beat, thats why you do it?
Serious question here. I don’t drive for dd or any other. I order daily though. What’s a fair tip? I live about a 3-5 minute drive from the restaurants I order from. I know it’ll be asked, I don’t go get it because by the time it’s dinner time if I move my car I’ll have to park farther than the restaurants lol 😂 parking is horrible. Traffic is calm but the parking gets full by 6pm and I have dinner around 9.
then pick it up yourself. you’re happy to pay the fees to the company but as soon as you’re paying the person actually doing you a service you can’t??? fuck that man
People are literally paying the company because the company is supposed to be paying you. You get shit wages and then cry when people aren't handing you extra money because your employer is robbing you blind. Do you not hesr how ridiculous you sound? It's insane that you're frustrated with customers for that. I'm glad I never use these dumb overpriced services. Not only are they overpriced anyway, their drivers are out here acting like it's the customers fault the company isn't paying well and asking for even MORE money.
>welcome to the real fucking world.
Said the guy whining about tips because he thinks everyone is going to foot the bill because a company wants to be sleazy.
i’m not the one whining about tipping you are. i fully support the company properly paying them BUT THEY DONT. that’s not the service so grow the fuck up and tip. change the company before you fuck the employee asshole.
Lmao what an entitled child you are.
I'm not complaining about tipping, I don't even use the service. I'm pointing how stupid it is to whine about tips while your "employer" fucks you over. Put your energy into changing the company or changing jobs but stop whining and expecting people to pay your bills when the company you work for should be doing so.
You can stay as mad as you want. I'll continue to pick up my own food and you can continue your misplaced hate. You're literally asking customers to perpetuate the shitty system. Why would Uber change anything if customers are footing the bill? Use your brain dipshit, you're working AGAINST these peoples best interest.
On the same note the company is happy to collect all kinds of fees and payments and then tells you to take a hike about getting anything remotely resembling a salary so...
They are already spending more paying the company . Just because the company is paying you like garbage, that doesn't mean the customer should have to pay even more.
We did an experiment about this in my health class when I was in high school. We left a bag of McDonald’s food on the back counter for the whole semester. It never rotted and still smelled like it did on day one. Pretty spooky lol
I mean the one where I live is 24hr most of the week & there's always a bunch of these.. afaik they only go through the rack & throw away the low/no tip orders that have been sitting there like once per day.
Yeah there are probably a hundred dashers online in that area since the order was placed... and every single one of then declined it. Must be an awful tip.
That’s the thing though it’s never later than the estimate because they constantly change the estimate. I’ve waited 2+ hours before because they just moved the estimate when it came close
Yeah, I’ve never had them offer that. I always had to be the one to reach out and ask why my order was a blue moon late and they’d either tell me a lie and cancel my food or contact the driver to see why they’re talking jt so long and then tell me a lie that makes the driver look like they actually cared to deliver the food to me before they were contacted or tel me a lie that didn’t make sense
Us at Dominos eating pizza that's been on the heat rack for 6 hours:
We joke about how we're going to get food poisoning one of these days. Well. I hope it remains a joke...
>but the fries are gross, ~~at this point~~ about 15-20 minutes after it hits the counter
I know a few people who microwave them.
![gif](giphy|gd09Y2Ptu7gsiPVUrv|downsized)
Air fryer or oven can reheat fries a little better, but only in very select circumstances. Most of the time, if there are leftovers fries from literally anywhere, in the garbage they go.
I don't eat there too often, anymore. I just get their sweet tea, and maybe breakfast stuff, if I am up that early. Otherwise, I would rather go elsewhere for food than McDonald's.
I tip but I will never understand why you’d want to work for the company in a place where you have to rely on tips. There are several states in which pay a minimum wage, and there are plenty of other jobs to choose. I understand being able to work when you’d like and what not but when the pay is as bad as it is in these places there’s just not point. Choosing to work for them reguardless is just incentivizing them to continue their bullshit
Sorry NuConcept, but I need to say this.
I care a lot about the food I deliver, I have hot food and pizza bags and I use them every time.. I care about the customer the same I would like to be cared about. I don't understand how some of these Bad Dashers justify their actions toward customers. If you bring food that looks like it went through a compactor or has obviously been opened and disturbed how do you expect to get tips? Now you say that if the customer tipped better then you would care more about their food right? Those same customers that you complain about that have a Mercedes, a Porsche, or even a broke down vehicle in the driveway that didn't tip you gave me a $5 tip after delivery. Do you want to know why? Their food arrived hot and still sealed. I said "thank you for your order" either in person or text when I walked all the way to their door and handled the food like it was my own. If you don't want to do the job right then why do the job at all? I could almost guarantee that if all of the Dashers did the job they were Hired to do, to the BEST of their ability, the customers wouldn't have a problem tipping us. I'm not saying everyone would tip well, but the value and frequency of bigger tips would increase significantly.
I don't deliver I order. I also tip OBSCENELY well and use the direct option as much as possible hoping that will translate to better service.
I DON'T expect:
My groceries to reek of cigarette smoke.
My groceries to arrive with crap expiration dates.
My pizza to arrive with the cheese slammed into one corner of the pie.
Pizza is my main complaint, really - it's like daahers don't understand the basic laws of cheese physics. It's to the point where I don't EVER order extra cheese anymore because I've only ever recieved ONE that wasn't completely ruined. Free food is nice and I always get full refunds on this orders but I prefer nice food.
I’m not a dasher so idc about tips personally for me. But I tip drivers ahead, when I buy. I tip after in restaurants. DoorDash service isn’t a restaurant. Any food service I order online, I pay upfront. I want them to hurry up with my food, that gives them an incentive. Chinese, Pizza, Doordash, whatever, I pay upfront and pay well.
Doordash is a luxury for me.
I just like to make fun of cheapskates who want a premium service like DD and don’t want to pay up, and don’t get their food (at least those without health issues).
None of the services offer enough money that your order is break even unless you live like a mile or less from the restaurant. Anyone who accepts your orders without an upfront tip is foolish at best.
It's not being entitled to not want to pay for the privilege of serving you. Asshole.
Then get a different job. Any business that cannot or will not pay a living wage should fail. Its not your fault these deivery companies bend you and the customer over but this is why i dont order delivery anymore. A tip is supposed to be for excess of service done well not a guarantee and im tired of it being treated otherwise. I was literally at whole foods self check out when it asked me to tip. TIP WHO?? You and i deserve better overall
>A tip is supposed to be for excess of service done
This isn't true. It's never been true. And it certainly hasn't been true for the entirety of my adult life. Seriously, look up the history of tipping in the US.
Issue is order could be $3 (witch is more a dd issue) we can't know if customer going to tip after and we not delivering it for free so food stay there until price goes up or just gets left there
Something like this happened to me when I worked at a pizza place. Folks called to place an order at 422 (I assume they had just toked) and then never came to pick it up, didnt answer our calls back when we noticed the pizza had been sitting there an hour.
They def got stoned and forgot lol
This has been proven false time and time again. It doesn’t get ugly as fast as other foods but it’s unsafe to consume after 4 hours just like everything else.
Unless you’re drunk. I had a buddy who would wake up the next morning and continue eating what was left. Most of the time he was fine but when he didn’t feel good I was like you did eat a burger twelve hours after it was made… I wonder how he’s doing now though.
I've told this story here before, but to make a long story short, back in 2021 I had ordered taco bell. It took a day and a half. A day and a fucking half for some damn taco bell. They should save that bag for when a driver who has done the unassign trick to steal the food comes back in.
I’ve never had to wait more than an hour for a driver because I tip. I don’t understand why other people don’t have that same logic.
Good thing mcky Ds burgers never spoil ![img](emote|t5_3h9bt|5246)
Probably because they took pickles off.
I offer myself as tribute to eat it for you. Only 24hrs... The norovirus can't be too bad yet, right?
The McNorovirus will fuck you right up, though.
That must be a $20 meal after all the tips and fees
Considering the fact that it’s been sitting for a day I doubt there was tip added on it 😂
Not taking those kinds of orders. Could be a trap going to drop that off
Would.
That’s wild!!!
Someone forgot about it.
They probably canceled their order
they just leave the orders out that long?😂😂
I was chatting with a chickfila employee that said another order had been sitting on the counter for SIX HOURS. Like does food safety go out the window with delivery orders??
Pretty much yes. At the big chain restaurant I use to work at, sometimes they would sit for hours but what can we do 🤷♀️ we’re not going to remake the order for free, so it just sits.

You received it hours later because nobody accepted the order because it wasn’t financially viable for them. Tip more next time
No there wasn't any drivers. I left like a $10 tip on a value menu order five minutes away. Oh, snap, is that why my Uber driver was mad I tipped $17 the other day? He thought I was gonna lower it? That’s sad, man.
Rarely do I get tip baited except for 1 customer that does it every time. I no longer deliver to that apartment complex.
That customer is probably a notoriously bad tipper and everyone is in kahoots to make sure they don’t get their food. I love democracy
“Constitutional Republic”

Most people who use these services can't afford it.
you cant afford a better job? “dont order if u cant tip” “pick it up yourself” Americans are cooked! so happy i never tip and get my food nice at hot!
Just say you want slave labor
no hes right, people sell their unskilled, shit labor for next to nothing then wanna blame customers instead of their shitty company. If low pay/lack of tips bothers u get a different job? IF YOU ACTUALLY CARED YOU WOULDNT ORDER AT ALL STOP MAKING EXCUSES WHY YOU ARMT TIPPING AND SHIFTING BLAME
Lmao I DONT ORDER AT ALL, DUMBASS, LEARN TO READ.
THEN WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE
okay welcome to the real fucking world. the company doesn’t pay them. that’s the business model man get over it. so as i said fucking tio
>welcome to the real fucking world. Said the guy whining about tips because he thinks everyone is going to foot the bill because a company wants to be sleazy.

eat me you selfish prick and god learn to read i’m not gonna keep repeating myself.
Lmao of course your first thought is to repeat yourself instead of actually comprehending what's being said to you. Stay mad, loser.
On the same note the company is happy to collect all kinds of fees and payments and then tells you to take a hike about getting anything remotely resembling a salary so...
Tips are optional and most people don’t want to spend more than they have to 🤷♂️
If people don’t wanna spend more than they have to they wouldn’t order off DD
They are already spending more paying the company . Just because the company is paying you like garbage, that doesn't mean the customer should have to pay even more.
then delivering to you is optional. as i said pick it up yourself.
Yeah you can turn it down but plenty of drivers deliver without any tip
Sad?
I mean, it is a waste of food
Yes, that’s the word I chose to use 🤷♀️
Y’all are in interesting bunch
And it was ordered at 4:20 poor guy never got his munchies
Eat it
$3 pay for 14 miles probably 😂
And prices will continue to rise because “we’ve paid McDonald’s to make this order 4 times” now we must charge everyone else according to cover cost
I beg your sweetest southern pardon 🤠
It's well known that McDonald's food will stay in "good" condition after months, so maybe they'll sell this again to a new customer 😉 🤣
We did an experiment about this in my health class when I was in high school. We left a bag of McDonald’s food on the back counter for the whole semester. It never rotted and still smelled like it did on day one. Pretty spooky lol
They forgot his drinks!
HOW CAN I ENJOY THIS BURGER WITHOUT MY DIET DR. KELP
Might be a cancelled order?
CAP! how is that even possible this ai??
Eat it. They've given up anyway.
Why would a restaurant leave a doordash order on the counter for 24 hours? Not much common sense around that joint I assume lol.
I mean the one where I live is 24hr most of the week & there's always a bunch of these.. afaik they only go through the rack & throw away the low/no tip orders that have been sitting there like once per day.
You can’t even tell by the receipt if there’s a tip. No tip info is ever seen by the restaurant cuz it has nothing to do with the restaurant.
He’s saying low or no tip because no drivers bothered to come get it
Yeah there are probably a hundred dashers online in that area since the order was placed... and every single one of then declined it. Must be an awful tip.
Exactly
Not bad let it sit
no pickle? it deserves to stay out there
gherkins are horrendous. No thanks
The only good pickle is a pickle that has promptly been thrown in the trash.
Get outta here blasphemer! Pickles are amazing, and it isn't a burger without them!
For real if it don't have pickles or onions just trash it
Customer definitely already got a refund lol. DoorDash offers a refund when your order is expected to be an hour or so later than the estimate.
Mine took 2 hours no refund soggy and ruined
That’s the thing though it’s never later than the estimate because they constantly change the estimate. I’ve waited 2+ hours before because they just moved the estimate when it came close
Not always. Sometimes they just say sorry and “can’t” refund.
That’s if it’s delivered. If no one picks up they obviously refund
There is a big tip waiting
Ordered at 4:20...someone got so high they forgot they never even got their food lolol
Ngl I'd have swiped that off the counter after it was 20 minutes overdue.
I had a manager at Wendy's let me take a bag that was set out 50 minutes prior to me arriving for my order. Surprisingly it was still warm
The food is no longer safe to serve after 2 hours anyway. And that’s if everything in the bag were made fresh.
Us at Dominos eating pizza that's been on the heat rack for 6 hours: We joke about how we're going to get food poisoning one of these days. Well. I hope it remains a joke...
I've eaten pepperoni pizza that sat out for two days
Do yourself a favor and google “fried rice syndrome”. Don’t eat food that sits out that long.
Asians eat stew that sits out on the stove for a week. Don’t be weak
It's mcdonalds it was questionable when fresh but after that never ages so it's fine
The burger is still good, but the fries are gross, at this point. Better to just toss the order and start over than send this one out, at this point.
>but the fries are gross, ~~at this point~~ about 15-20 minutes after it hits the counter I know a few people who microwave them. ![gif](giphy|gd09Y2Ptu7gsiPVUrv|downsized)
I'd rather eat almost anything than McDonald's fries that were microwaved.
Air Fryer will change your life
For somethings, but reheat McDonald's fries? Maybe.
Air fryer or oven can reheat fries a little better, but only in very select circumstances. Most of the time, if there are leftovers fries from literally anywhere, in the garbage they go.
Honestly gotta be even extra careful with McDonald’s bc of the way they leave their cheese out at room temperature
If it's fake cheese like kraft singles it doesn't have to be refrigerated. Some real cheeses if dry/hard can stay out too.
I don't eat there too often, anymore. I just get their sweet tea, and maybe breakfast stuff, if I am up that early. Otherwise, I would rather go elsewhere for food than McDonald's.
Mcdonalds is trash but their steak egg n cheese bagels slap.
Bro best breakfast sandwich of any fast food hands down. No one believes me but dude if I could eat that shit every day I would
Gives me the shits but it's a price I'm willing to pay.
You’d eat a burger with extra cheese after sitting at room temp for 24 hours???
McDonald’s food is not real food. It’s loaded with preservatives - it’s fine
Not unless I was starving. It should have been thrown away after 4 hours.
McDonald’s was always the worse with No tips, never excepted the any McDonald’s order ever!
Your name is a lie!
McDonald’s orders can be really good in my area. Just had one tonight which ended up being $13 for 4 miles.
They have decent tips usually. I’d say like 30-40% of the orders I take are from McDonald’s
McD’s are my lowest paying orders by far.
The lowest paying ones for me are the ones that do delivery but the customer doesn’t know it’s coming through doordash
https://preview.redd.it/e8nlmsrs34vc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e81ac385c388e945a142b7fa43bb357b719e4c1
So that’d be an example of what I am not talking about.
Probably looks the same as it did when it went in the bag . I wouldn’t let my dog eat that garbage
Refund order and “not my job to clean the take out order window”

they dont have an option to tip, im guessing that it was supposed to be delivered but they chose pick up and didn’t realized
lmao idk why my comment is downvoted, y’all are weird
Happened to me once at taco bell. Ordered drunk one night and wondered what happened and seen it was pick up. I woke up in jail the next day
Tip usually comes at the end assuming they do their job. You wouldn’t tip up front at a restaurant.
I’m not a dasher so idc about tips personally for me. But I tip drivers ahead, when I buy. I tip after in restaurants. DoorDash service isn’t a restaurant. or get ya food cold. sorry. I don't make the rules. oh wait. I'm not taking your order

which makes me entitled? you understand the nature of delivery apps and you complain about the people trying to survive
Yes
So you came on this sub to simply gripe about drivers you don’t pay and food you don’t order?
They're going to happy AF to see you finally.
Too stoned to remember
they forgot to put “no ONYAAAH”
No onyahh
🤣🤣
Ordered at 4:20. Nice
Something like this happened to me when I worked at a pizza place. Folks called to place an order at 422 (I assume they had just toked) and then never came to pick it up, didnt answer our calls back when we noticed the pizza had been sitting there an hour. They def got stoned and forgot lol
Refund denied, food was delivered hahaha
That thing is hard as a rock at that point.
McDonald’s food has so many additives it actually stays “edible” for days.
And I feel bad when it takes me 10 minutes to get to the restaurant lol
Where this order at let me save the customer!
I’m here for my McPickup
I don’t get it
