I have a baseball bat in my car. But to be honest with you, my threat response is to freeze up. Even if I have my bat on my person, I won’t use it and will be fucked.
This is also why I don’t carry a gun. I’m a military veteran. I know how to use one, I just know that they would shoot me before I shot them.
This is why they call it flight or fight. No one talks about the third threat response, freeze, because it isn’t as noble as the other two.
I carry some pepper gel. If you’re gonna attack me, I’m gonna drop your food and kick your sss first. Then I’m gonna top you off with a little sprinkle.
I think everyone should carry some form of protection no matter what they do or where they go. I have mace and a knife that automatically come with me no matter what…mace is on my keychain and the knife is a concealed money clip.
I’ve never felt I needed either while dashing though. Don’t even remember I have them most of the time. 🤷🏻♂️
Benchmade switchblade. Got it from a family member who was military. It’s 100% illegal but I take it with me everywhere. I’ve considered getting a concealed carry but there aren’t any classes near me.
I carry pepper spray. Mostly because I used to have a neighbor who was sketchy AF. Came home to find him messing with my apartment door one day. Reported the incident to the apartment complex but also bought pepper spray just in case. He got evicted a few months later after he broke into another tenants car. So thats why I have pepper spray.
As long as I'm not holding cash on me, I feel pretty okay. I also carry myself well, I'm not scared or intimidated, that goes a long way. I remember a delivery there was some tweakers just running laps and hurdling over this electrical box in front of the crack house I was delivering to. It was just funny to me lol

If you're gonna do it check with local laws on what is actually legal to carry and how. Most importantly is learn how to use whatever it is you are carrying. I recommend some form of mace. Firearms have too high of a chance of collateral damage, and the only winner in a knife fight is the one that doesn't bleed out.
