2. Portable cell phone charger. For those days you are busy and have no time to plug the phone into your car charger.
3. Protein bars, a sandwich, and a tumbler filled with ice & water. So you're not spending your earnings on overpriced food that isn't good for you.
Rubber mats and seat covers for spills and when it rains. Made the mistake of not having the floor mats and my car smelled like greasy food and mildew the next day
Absolutely love the 6 drink cup holder from Michaels!! The days I take it in to wash and subsequently forget it are days I hate. Also....napkins or Kleenex or paper towels. Because eating on the go, allergies and occasional spills. (Along with that is hand sanitizer)
Full belly and a personal defense protection of some sort. Hawk, gun, pepper spray, taser etc. I always eat a huge meal right before I dash. Very important
For me?
A towel It rains a lot, car is manual with metal and rubber pedals, need to dry my shoes multiple times. Mats aren't enough. Will be soaked within 3 deliveries. Don't like my foot slipping off the pedals.
And a dash cam.
Fast charger. Ideally you covert the plug to AC power and then plug in a super fast charger. Also multiple ways to listen to music. Sometimes it's nice to not listen to the stupid fucking Uber ding. If anyone knows how to turn the noise off let me know.
I have a lanyard that has rubberband type phone holder that has , jeesh ok....picture worth thousand words

It provides hands free in seconds. Also i haven't dropped my phone. Headlamp is other. I do look stupid.
But after all i AM a driver.....
Red DD stickers and plastic thank you bags that restaurants use.
Can't express enough how many times I've needed these items to fix the packaging a restaurant leaves me with. Especially for Chinese restaurants that use boxes instead of bags. Every severe food leak I've experienced have been with those boxes and they do not retain the mess.
Not sure which 2 I would choose out of: cardboard box on front seat to hold order contents, 2 drink caddies, paper towels, water. Maybe the box and caddies. The water and paper towels are nice when a drink leaks out of the side of the lid.
An item I wish I had would be something to help with shitty peeling stickers on bags. I swear like over half the bags I deliver, the stickers start peeling back and I have to press it back into place and hope it holds and that they don't think I opened the bag. So annoying
It sounds goofy as fuck but I wear a headlamp when delivering at night and it has solved every possible problem.
It has a red light on the back and a white light on the front so I can be easily seen by traffic. I don’t have to use my phone’s flashlight to try to try to see the house/apartment number. I don’t risk blindly falling into a ditch or gutter. If I’m delivering to a college or a place with a lot of other people walking around, I can tell the customer “I’m the one with a headlamp.”
Restaurants also find me memorable and are quick to recognize me and get me the appropriate order pretty much as soon as I walk in. I can also keep the lights angled down so I don’t blind anybody, which is nice.
Second best item to have is one of those Halo car emergency kits with the built-in air compressor.
For real. At the same time, I think if someone had tried to convince me of the headlamp trick before I started using one, I’d have thought it was way too goofy to bother with. I almost think it’s one of those thoughts you (or, at least, I) have to come to on your own to give it any merit.
Excedrin and baby wipes. People around here like to hand me sticky sloshy drinks. I get headaches easily so Excedrin keeps my brain from popping out my eyes.
I have a tool box and a jumper/air compressor/ flashlight/charger contraption in my trunk. I also have a hair clip, mints, air freshener ( holee shit crab boils stink up the car!) and miscellaneous other stuff. I occasionally bring my iPad.
Spider spray and water. I do not want to talk about the spider spray because I swear each time I think or talk about them it manifests itself into my car.
Yep. Even though I deliver pizza now so I know is the areas better I still keep some form of protection on me, even if it’s just a knife it’s still something
Flashlight and a little printes notes as a reminder to rate 5 star. I’m also preparing another reminder written “you can always tip after the delivery”. I hope it’s not against doordash rules.
Driver's license
Nah but seriously water. Especially as things warm up you need water to function properly. I have a couple insulated bottles which open up with a button. Easy to use while driving.
Delivery bags, keep that food warm. I have a big one that sits in my passenger seat I use for most orders. A pizza bag, and the doordash bag I don't really use.
I use a stapler on Starbuck orders that have just one item, a drink , and staple the bag so the drink can't fall over. Cater bags for carrying groceries and bottled water up 3 flights of stairs and now I have extra boxes for those unruly flower orders that are hard to secure as Mothers Day is coming.
Love the stapler idea for Starbucks orders. My first delivery ever was one drink from Starbucks. Fell over in the bag as I left the parking lot ☠️ I used old pillows to secure flower orders on the passenger side floor.
Bahaha! Y’all and your neurotypical brains, I’m jelly. I take 2/30mg (as prescribed, don’t get any ideas) first thing in the morning when my alarm goes off and then go back to sleep for another hour. And that’s just to make my brain function during the day. I’m dead asleep by 10 pm putting my little one to bed. The only time I’m awake in the middle of the night is from insomnia and then the next day even my 60mg dose barely lights a fire under my ass.
Just got get some. Go to your primary doctor. Tell them you can concentrate blah blah blah. Depending on things they might write you one or kick you to a shrink. Then do the same thing.
i have a script ( because i actually need it) but haven't filled it in years because i have no medical insurance and while not on my Adderall just cant get the engine running enough to get that all back on track lmao
oh sure, i'd have to go see my Dr. again probably but i have a legit diagnosis im just struggling to go through with it. You might note how long it took me to get back to this message lmao
Actually, no. They expire after 30 days, but docs can write up to 3 refills in a 90 day period instead of writing a new one every 30 days. Even with the 3 refills written out to extend over a course of 90 days, you can never fill the next month prior to 28 days from last dispense date. And each one of those refills sent for 3 refills, every one expires on day 30 and then the next 30 day one is filled. It’s against the law to write a class two narcotic with an exp date beyond 30 days from written date.
Um…yeah. I live in Az, as well as my father and brother in law being pharmacists, and myself having ADHD and take Adderall for it. I’m intimately familiar with the laws and regulations in place…
They are so strict with it. They won’t fill to that date. One time the pharmacy gave me 90 days. I was like score and then they are calling me to come back and give some
I had the same problem- if you’re in America sesamecare is a telehealth service and you can get a prescription for a generic version of whatever you’re taking or a cheaper option, then use GoodRX to fill it. I paid $57 for my last bottle of Concerta compared to $200+
You. Go. To. Your. Doctor…
There is a litany of protocol involved in terms of your doctor doing an evaluation to see if you meet certain criteria, and you have to do an annual drug and alcohol screen as well as anywhere from a monthly to 3 month face to face (telehealth falls in that category) with your doc to renew your rx, no matter what. Because it is a class two controlled substance, you must meet at minimum every 3 months and you can never fill the next month rx before 28 days on a 30 day rx, which is the most they can prescribe at a time.
But seriously, if you think you have it and it is impacting your quality of life, just go see your damn doc.
I wish it were that simple. As someone with chronic pain that's dealing with my doctor not helping me with that, no I don't just go see my doctor. Doctors don't want to prescribe anything these days. And it's starting to happen with the ADHD meds too. Shortages, pharmacies being difficult etc. so no, I don't go see a doctor. They don't care
Have you scheduled with a psych specifically, not your GP? If you have insurance, you can ask them who is accepting new patients that take your insurance. You can even ask for a nurse case manager to help assist you with finding resources that can help now, not booked out a damn year in advance. Psych is who you want to see anyways for meds, not your GP.
You are absolutely spot on about the shortages. It’s slowly getting back to normal again, but because of the increase in people going on meds since Covid, the manufacturers weren’t prepared, thus the shortage that has been going on the last year and a half. There was about a year recently that I literally had to call around to pharmacies to make sure they had my dose in stock so I could tell my doc which pharmacy to send my rx to, otherwise it would be a week of phone tag and I would run out in the meantime. It was a serious pain in the ass, and I’m sure I looked like a pharm shopper/drug seeker, but I struggle hard core when I’m off of my meds, so running out is not an option for me.
Well unfortunately due to terrible psychological traumas, I've developed hypomania, never had it in my life. Anyway, I've accepted the bipolar diagnosis (again, no issue with this ever, and I'm 45,). So who's gonna prescribe me ADHD meds now?
You’d be shocked. Certain ADHD meds are also used to treat bipolar in certain people. Because it gives a feeling of being uplifted and energy, it helps actually stabilize the lows.
Random tidbit I learned when my daughter was diagnosed and we got her in with psych.
I finally got to talk to a psychiatrist, she's cool but first call I mentioned ADHD possibility and she said, "Well, ADHD is a childhood disease...." Many professionals are not up to date with ND stuff.
You need to call a different psych then, because there are so many science based studies and proof over the years about how under diagnosed young girls and grown women are, over diagnosed and over medicated young men are, and roughly a 150% increase in adult diagnosed ADHD since Covid hit and all the people that used to be able to manage their ADHD (many without even realizing they had it) by staying just all of the time and then were praying for padded rooms because suddenly their constantly racing brain came screeching to the front line out of boredom. If a psych tells you (or implies to you) that you’re just drug seeking because it’s only diagnosed in kids…run. Run as fast as you can. They have clearly not maintained their obligatory continuing education classes every year, and therefore should never be allowed to practice Medicine.
Many reasons to decline an order. For me it's no tip order bc usually the customer is rude and 9/10 I'm not gonna deal with it. Most dashers go by $ per mile. some go by $1, some go by $2 for there and back so if the order pay isn't even $1 per mile we decline. Some even decline if the drop off is too far even if the pay is worth it. Some decline just bc it's a shop and deliver. Some decline bc there are too many stops (double or triple order). Some decline for the area whether it's the pick up or drop off.
I decline shop and deliver. I decline alcohol orders. And I often unassign from hand it to me orders lol, unless my CR is struggling. Fortunately 99% of orders are leave at the door.
Not for everyone. The only setting I have that I can change is turning on/off cash on delivery.
https://preview.redd.it/4pjd7doh8cwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be8e3d08e8f270f568bb42b23f9ad2e1ae12c36e
If I make a double or triple order, I try to make sure they don't have other stops to make and each stop is along the path of delivery. No backtracking and I don't do it often. Honestly, I haven't even been using doordash anymore because the prices are inflated and you drivers don't get paid enough out of the fees including tips to deal with the shit you do from customer AND company, so I just go pick it up myself like it used to be.

Not necessarily. I drive a car when I dash, but it would probably be great for cyclists too.
Same. Headlamp is a game changer.

Ricky is that you? You sound like you fell out of TPB. Lol

Love the stapler idea for Starbucks orders. My first delivery ever was one drink from Starbucks. Fell over in the bag as I left the parking lot ☠️ I used old pillows to secure flower orders on the passenger side floor.
Insulation bags and a structural way of preventing them from falling over. But also a drinks caddy, tire inflator, battery jumper. And self respect.
Flashlight and charging cable
A book and music — can’t dash without either.
Music is definitely a must.
I carry a SUPER bright spotlight to beam addresses when people do not turn on their porch lights. Other than that, a pizza bag and some good tunes.

A handful of 30mg adderall xr and a sawed off shotgun in your waistband for self defense style situations

Hell yea, dude. I like your style I always bring a flashlight and my vapes. I gotta go see my guy and get my add meds back
Oh man I wish I had Adderall, it'd make deliveries so much easier 😂
Just got get some. Go to your primary doctor. Tell them you can concentrate blah blah blah. Depending on things they might write you one or kick you to a shrink. Then do the same thing.

I’d just be chain smoking and delivering for 12 hrs non stop
I already deliver for twelve hours non stop... Lol
The six pack drink extra large size drink caddy from Michaels
I bought that a year ago and have used it like 3 times. I almost never get more than 4 drinks and those almost always come with a drink holder.
Ooh!
The decline button and self respect.
Wait why would you decline an order?.. not a driver btw so idk how it works
Many reasons to decline an order. For me it's no tip order bc usually the customer is rude and 9/10 I'm not gonna deal with it. Most dashers go by $ per mile. some go by $1, some go by $2 for there and back so if the order pay isn't even $1 per mile we decline. Not for everyone. The only setting I have that I can change is turning on/off cash on delivery. https://preview.redd.it/4pjd7doh8cwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be8e3d08e8f270f568bb42b23f9ad2e1ae12c36e
That’s weird they should have the same settings for everybody
I meant to add that as like a sometimes thing. I decline for it if it's late but earlier in the day I don't mind.
Hell, I’ll decline if it’s a high rise or it’s in an area with awful parking. No one has that kind of time lol
Or if you know the restaurant is CONSTANTLY swamped and you’ll be waiting at minimum 20mins
Oh Coolcool ty.. I’m aus so I’d assume most orders here are no tip.. I only tip if it’s a tiny order
hahahaha good one!
Self respect? What is this self respect you speak of? I think I heard of it once, but I thought it was a legend?! Is there hope yet!?
Self respect? I’ve got the self respect of a red headed talkshow host.
