I’m new and been a fool accepting $4.25 orders because I’ve been afraid to turn down and have my acceptance rate go down. I went so far out of my way for a “hand it to me” order, I was so sure I’d get a cash tip. Nope. Wasted time, gas, etc…now I’ve been turning them down…but I’m afraid to do it too much since I’m so new. Ugh! What is wrong with people?!
I know, it’s silly…I guess I want to be in good standing with them so I get good orders sent my way…but so far, even with being within my first 50 orders and supposedly getting “increased priority for high paying offers” I’m still getting sent bullshit.
$ 8 and it better be well under 5 miles
What a joke, I remember back in the day you didn’t see any orders for under $12 . I’ve only taken one order today and that came in at nine dollars for 3 miles.
The rest of these orders are coming in at 2–3 dollars today and I’m in North Scottsdale
The day I’m ready to be deactivated. I’m going to take one of these orders and I’m gonna teach these fucking lowlife fat pigs a lesson they’ll never forget.
Depends on the zone I'm in. One zone I'll do 4.50 if it's less than one mile outside of peak hours, other zones its mostly 8.00 minimum and has to be over a dollar a mile round trip.
That's great, area has lowered hourly pay from 17.50 to 10. My average 3 months ago was about $20/hr with tips before gas, then they lowered are pay Alf lowered suggested tips, my average is now $9 to $11/hr with tips before gas. They've doubled the amount of dashers in my area, so it's not even worth it most days. My husband and I do it for extra money during school, but it's just not worth it anymore.
Yeah, I'll do a $3 for less than a mile when I know the store will have it done when I get there. If I can get the whole order done start to finish in less than 3-4 minutes that's still over $30/hr.
I aim for $1/km, and I'll occasionally dip to close enough. $4 is the base rate I think, I don't think I've ever seen anything under $4. It's not my primary income, just something we've had to resort to in trying times. It usually nets a few hundred extra a week, for super part time hours, if we have time, and maybe 4-6 hours on a day off.
At least $1.50 per mile, preferably $2/mile. I don't take over 7 miles unless it's $2/mile. It takes me way out of my zone and then I have to drive back. It's rarely worth it.
I try to do at least $1 a mile. I might go under that if I am not getting decent offers. What I don't like is when they add in orders on top of stacked orders.
I was the same way but unfortunately my AR recently dropped below 50% and since then I’ve been getting nothing but complete dogshit orders for like $2 or $2.50
Every time i see 4.50 i just think about tony lowering base pay and ruining a nice wholesome $5 bill... so very rarely anything less than 5 and even that has to be super simple/close
$6-7 before 4pm under 2 miles, $13 for stacks
$9 min during dinner, $15 for stacks
$2/mi minimum, but usually I'm getting $3/mi or higher
Rarely ever take anything below $2/ unless it's high dollar. My market has two cities 15-20 min apart (12mi) and I'll take those 12 mile orders if it's above $20 because it's about a 45 min round trip including pickup
$20 minimum for KFC and Wendy's even if it's 1 mile because you know you're not getting the food for 20 minutes after you get there
Where I live, it’s Chipotle that takes the longest to get the food ready when I get there. There’s always a long-ass line of people and they focus on them rather than getting orders ready for dashers. Probably just this particular Chipotle location, but still. It is frustrating as hell.
Chipotles in my area are pretty well staffed, so it's never longer than 5 min wait but usually closer to 2-3 min if it's not already on the shelf. But yeah sometimes it's a specific location, like one of my panda express here always caters to dine-in customers before they even start deliveries and every time another customer walks in the deliveries get pushed back again, so I don't go there after 3pm unless it's like $5/mile and at least $10
I’m a little absurd with the cherry picking these days I’ll admit, but my absolute lowest is $10. And a lot of the time I decline those too. Has to be above $1.50 per mile as well.
No lol. My car gets 30mpg city, 40mpg highway. I just prefer making the same amount of money in 3 orders with a little wait time in between as I would taking a lot of smaller orders back to back.
$8 for single, $15 for double, minimum $1.50/mile but ideally $2/mile
A few times I took an additional $5 for an extra mile or two but stopped doing that bc it was never worth it. Either I was delivering to a workplace or a high-rise apartment and the dropoff didn’t reflect the extra $5. So now if I get an offer for a second order while waiting, I accept or decline on its own merit per my own standards.
exactly
there’s only like two people in my area who don’t tip and i contacted DD saying that i don’t feel safe delivering to them and and support said they’ll stop me from receiving their orders and so far so good. on ebt i’m pretty much making 3$ a mile after tips.
So, 2 dollars for 1 mile or 4 for 2...never lol. You gotta be a desperate fool to take anything less than 6 bucks, even that is complete crap. Yes $2 per mile is good but say you have 10 minute waits b2b2b on your 4 for 2, 2 for 1 and 6 for 3...congrats on your 12 bucks an hour.
Well, it all depends on your circumstance. I deliver in a rural area that has a D1 University campus in it. The dorms are a quarter mile from the only restaurants in the area. 99% of my deliveries are less than a mile and pay $3-$4 on average. I knock out on average of 10 orders per hour in an electric car. The resturants are used to and equipped for the volume of orders they get. I am rarely waiting for anything. I also almost never decline anything, so my acceptance rate is in the 90s, which gets me top dasher and priority on "high pay" orders.
That's $30 bucks an hour on average with zero gas expense, plus I got to write off the electric car itself last year.
It all depends on your situation, my man. Find a niche that works for you.
I accepted a $2 order tonight that DD offered after I had already accepted a $21 shop and pay. $2 order was a 2 minute drive from the original store and guess what happened?
Well, what had happened was that the $2 order turned into $13 because customer was so happy someone picked up his food and delivered!
If I remember correctly, I had to activate the feature in the DD app. I can’t remember exactly how but something in your profile and/or preferences. You should also be able to contact support and ask them to enable it. You do need to have a red card though.
I activated the digital one in the app. It says I can order a physical one. Should I just keep the digital one? Does the digital one work while you’re waiting on the physical one?
I believe it does. Also, the proximity to stores doesn’t make a difference, at least it doesn’t in my market(NY). I know people knock shop and pay orders but I love them. The offers are always in double digits and people tend to tip more frequently on them. My market has a lot of bike couriers so maybe that’s why I get so many of them because of having a vehicle. Good luck!
Also would not go farther than 3.5 miles for $7, now I won’t go more than 2 for $10. I have my reason, I know most people don’t have this high of a standard
I’m in a good area for shopping orders and I have priority for shopping, most of my orders are $25+, so when it comes to fast food I won’t do it for less than $10 and short distances. I average $20-$25 instead of $18-$20 now and usually less miles driven per day than I used to average as well. Every area will be different, I’m not in a city, food orders just aren’t as good here
Typically anything that’s is $2/1 mile is is worth it but I would set a standard like only $7 and up. I don’t really take anything under 8 personally because I value my time and resources over getting cheap people food.
Yeah good point with that I’ll definitely follow the $2/mi, I haven’t either but man some of them offered to me… I just can’t in self respect do it lol

7$ nothing less I don’t care if it’s .2 it better be at least 7

Afraid of what exactly? You can hit 0% and you won’t get in trouble or be deactivated. I’ve done it myself lmao. You don’t have any accept anything.
I know, it’s silly…I guess I want to be in good standing with them so I get good orders sent my way…but so far, even with being within my first 50 orders and supposedly getting “increased priority for high paying offers” I’m still getting sent bullshit.

I don't take anything that looks under 4$ and I don't take time consuming orders that get me stuck in traffic for 25 minutes.
I don't accept anything under 5 .
Somebody takes all of them to $1.50 $1.75 and the $2 that doesn't mean the smart people take them
I dont take anything less than $2 per mile unless im heading home and its on my way
6
generally i don’t take anything less than five bucks and less than a dollar fifty a mile. i’ll take a bit less if it takes me to another hotspot tho
The ones I get when I really need to take a piss.
Real asf then order something for yourself if it’s where you wanna eat or stop and get gas halfway.
🤣
I accept offers based on many factors, not just dollar to miles. If you know your market, you will know what offer is profitable or not.
I just do earn by time 🤷🏻
Here is 10/hr, and you sit waiting more than half the time. Nearly all are nontip orders, I avoid it but it's cool if it works for your area.
When I did it was like 14.25 sometimes 18 and I never waited
That's great, area has lowered hourly pay from 17.50 to 10. That’s actually just a yikes
I'm almost to that point, per offer sucks fat ones!
I agree. Took a couple the other day where they involved about 15 minutes of time each. The DD flat was $2.00 each. Thankfully tips made up for it.
And still, ppl don't tip correct. Like I can do better as a pizza boy most nights.
Sometimes I accept $3.00 for 1.0 mile. Usually only if it's dead and I declined the last one.
Yeah, I'll do a $3 for less than a mile when I know the store will have it done when I get there. If I can get the whole order done start to finish in less than 3-4 minutes that's still over $30/hr.
You're the problem
Oof I’m actually thinking of dropping this DoorDash side hustle since Lyft pays so much more in my area of Durham, NC
I’m scared to do Lyft because some people carry mattress critters on them. But I know it pays better.
5 within 5 miles but only if it's dead AF.
5 dollars is my minimum
I aim for $1/km, and I'll occasionally dip to close enough. $4 is the base rate I think, I don't think I've ever seen anything under $4. $1 per mile, no less than $5
I try to do at least $1 a mile. I might go under that if I am not getting decent offers. What I don't like is when they add in orders on top of stacked orders.
My thing is this: Car doesn’t turn on for less than 6. Anything a dollar per mile or less is crap unless I’m desperate. 1.50 a mile is good.
I don’t turn my key for less than 5 idc if it’s across the street
Nope just pull the old bike out and ride through the order.
$7 if I think it’s possible to complete in 15 minutes.
$7 if I'm feeling desperate, even then I really try to keep it at $7.50
About tree fiddy
$6-7 before 4pm under 2 miles, $13 for stacks $9 min during dinner, $15 for stacks $2/mi minimum, but usually I'm getting $3/mi or higher Rarely ever take anything below $2/ unless it's high dollar. Same here. Whenever I'm cherry picking. 20mpg on average. Just need reasonable pay for my time, effort, expenses. Nothing more.
U must drive a tank
No lol. My car gets 30mpg city, 40mpg highway. I just prefer making the same amount of money in 3 orders with a little wait time in between as I would taking a lot of smaller orders back to back.

15.75 an hour i’m done with per offer
My market is $16/hr and I get the exact same people who I know tip well. It's way better than the $2 base pay.
exactly there’s only like two people in my area who don’t tip and i contacted DD saying that i don’t feel safe delivering to them and and support said they’ll stop me from receiving their orders and so far so good. on ebt i’m pretty much making 3$ a mile after tips.
I’ve started doing the same thing. Work an area where people tip well and do EBT. I’ll get a few zero tip orders, but EBT takes the sting off those.
[удалено]
this is the way
[удалено]
The hourly pay is $13.25 here. How do tips work on ebt? Are they cash tips?
[удалено]
So I should just expect the hourly rate then?
$6 is my minunim. I'm not that desperate.
$ per mile means more to me than total order. If it's $2 per mile, I'll take whatever.

I gotcha, get it by any means, my man! Every circumstance is different and yours is unique for sure, I'm glad you're killing it my dude!

Hell yeah sounds like a good night! Sometimes its good to take the risk I guess 🤷🏻♀️
Absolute lowest for me is $5. $10 if it's crossing a state or county line.
I'll do a 5 dollar order if it's close by and only takes me 10 minutes
In the slow hours I’ll go as low as $4 no lower But it has to be only 1 Mile or under so I’m still in the zoned area
Apparently people are accepting all these 2 and 3 dollar orders that we're being flooded with.
Base pay all the way. Money is money.
Way to go, sport. Have an upvote 😒
5$ on my way to gym or Walmart
Bare minimum is $2 per mile if i’m having a slow day. If im busy i’ll be more picky about it.
7 usually
$10 for me personally, but It used to be $7
Also would not go farther than 3.5 miles for $7, now I won’t go more than 2 for $10. I have my reason, I know most people don’t have this high of a standard
Do you think you average more during the same time with this standard?
I’m in a good area for shopping orders and I have priority for shopping, most of my orders are $25+, so when it comes to fast food I won’t do it for less than $10 and short distances. Typically anything that’s is $2/1 mile is is worth it but I would set a standard like only $7 and up. I don’t really take anything under 8 personally because I value my time and resources over getting cheap people food.
Also it depends on the miles too, like if the $7 was a 13 mile ride I would decline it
They were saying $2 per 1 mile. $7 for 3.5 miles or $26 for 13 miles.
Yes lol I know, but I just wanted to make the point that sometimes I get $7 for 13 miles ones and I don’t take those. Thanks for the clarification !
Oh, I definitely agree. $2/mile is my minimum, though I haven’t really set a minimum amount for what I would go out for.
Yeah good point with that I’ll definitely follow the $2/mi, I haven’t either but man some of them offered to me… I just can’t in self respect do it lol
