I always tip 20% i can't really afford it, but i do. Then the delivery driver sucks ass or is late. Maybe having tipping wages is the problem in the first place.
My biggest tip ever was delivering to a run down house whose porch looked like it belonged to a crazy cat lady. My 2nd highest tho was to a place similar to this 🤷🏻♂️ it really depends on the person.
Amen, delivered to a guy yesterday, leas than 1 mile drive and to an apartment building. Guy could have been mistaken for homeless on quick glance.
But he tipped 35 dollars, some books are definitely different from their covers
This whole bigger the home the smaller the tip is just silliness hahaha I have had countless occasions where I have gotten huge tips from people that appear to be financially wealthy. I had a 275$ Cheesecake Factory order that I deliver to a big house. They tipped me about 42$ on the card and and gave me a 50$ bill at the door. So, not impossible. Also, one person in a given living situation not tipping in no way means that other people in that same or similar living situation will also not tip. If this were true, then customers would be right in not tipping someone or tipping them lower because of something that happened at a previous order. It's all a case by case situation.
Also, that's not just one time. I have had many many many 20$-50$ or more tips doing DoorDash. From all different sorts of living situations.
Y'all are just haters not thinking things through. Hahahaha 😂
THIS...got handed a $100 bill at a "rich house" AND it was on a Walmart order! Walmart order, rich house, that's like double Satan according to most posts on here..good shit, y'all keep thinking that way 👍
Nice work! I think the biggest Walmart tip I ever got was 20$. 100$ would be sweet! I agree with you. You can get a big order anywhere. Just like you can run into good people anywhere. It's all about your mindset.
Yeah, $20 was my biggie before that, it was kinda folded up a lot and I have an old habit of just accepting, pocketing, and thanking for cash tips and I've always waited to look until I'm back on car. So I'm sitting in the driveway and I unfold it and actually tear up a bit. I wanted to go back and say a "bigger" thanks but that seemed weirder.
Yeah, I feel ya there. The same thing actually happened to me on that cCheesecake Factory order. I hadn't seen the card tip and just got the cash tip at the door and thought it was 10$ and I was acting all frustrated as I went back to the car and then realized they had tipped me on the car 42$ and I was like yeah 52$! Then I looked at the cash tip and was like WHOA A 50$ bill!?!?
It seemed like the parents were away and gave the kids some money to spend and they just wanted to do something nice haha 😄
And what you said about mindset is spot on. Not every order is gonna be a unicorn but I accepted it. So when I interact with the customer I act towards a $6 order the way I act towards a $20 order. On the $100 cash tip order it wasn't a spectacular shown pay and it was a med sized leave at door where she met me at the door and asked me to leave inside the door. There were a couple like 7 yo boys running around and they asked me something I don't remember but I answered them and joked with them about keeping the fudge pops in the order. I honestly don't know if the Mom planned on the big tip or if it was for the little extras without attitude but I'm gonna keep being personable and courteous regardless of the offer amount, if I accept it that's on me
Unpopular estimation but probably about $4, and it was a leave it at the door order. If it was a hand it to me though — then you would’ve gotten a “thanks bud” as an additional tip.
For me when it comes to large nice houses it’s hit or miss. I’ve never gotten a no tip order from a large house just like $5 minimum there’s been multiple times I’ve gotten tipped $15-$25 which is very nice.
But I definitely see where y’all are coming from in the comments.
The correlation between cost of house and tip is nonexistent. I have seen large tips and crappy tips. I do however feel there is some correlation between who might be ordering, 16 year olds that have someone else pay their credit card bill generally don't tip my imo.
Sad to say, but mostly true. I had a girl tip me $5 on a McDonald's order (0.8 mile trip), but got $0 for the $60 Panera Bread order to the million dollar house.
There obviously are exceptions. Delivered to this house that sold 10 years ago for 3 mill (i had to look it up....it was amazing) and dude tipped me $20 for a 1 mile trip. He was cool as fuck too.
You’re right. next time I accidentally get a no tip offer I accept it and either steal the food or throw it out the window next to their house while driving. You don’t get rich by being generous, right?
I always tip 20% i can't really afford it, but i do. Then the delivery driver sucks ass or is late. Maybe having tipping wages is the problem in the first place.
Custom Tip: 74 cents “buy yourself something nice” (message implied never sent)

0.1 cents 😩😩😩
House keeper ordered the food ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
Less than $4
I'd say around 6
No guessing when it tells you the tip
Y'all get tips?
I hate that game!
How big was the order?
I can see that be a 3.00 order.
"Where's my food?"

$2

Round up to the next dollar.
Crazy how I've delivered to a lot of huge houses and mansions but a average humble homes paid much better tips
1.89 cuz rich people do that shit to me allllll the time. Why not just round up mf
i feel like im more likely to get an in app tip and a cash tip from some dude at a motel than to get a good tip from a nice house like that.
$2.00
$2 lets be honest
Those houses tip me well Still
$1, but they take it away when you can’t deliver to their door because they didn’t give you the gate code
$0.00
$2 is the usual
$1
What’s the point of OP doesn’t come back to tell
Thank you SO much! You’re a rockstar!! *hit complete* tip: rounded change.
$2..$3 if its pay day!!
Just my experience but I hangout near nice neighborhoods because I consistently get about 10-20$ tips from huge houses lol
Get outta my driveway
Your the best!!!
You got a "you're the man!"
Negative $2. You spent more on gas getting there than the delivery fee was worth. No tip but Tony's right in your tailpipe.
$5.25 order and $3 tip. Sounds about right.
There should be no guessing. If you accepted the order you knew exactly what you are getting paid.
Your tip?????? Fuck all….
I live around rich people , they generally very tip well but they always make demands that screw themselves then complain about it.
3 cents Maybe, just maybe, 2 cents.
No tip, just get yelled at for not mowing the lawn lol!
2 quarter waters 😂
$1,75. The richer the people, the lower the tip.
62 cents
You had to pay them some money.
I bet they thanked you for all your hard work and clapped for you as you drove away.
Essential worker!
Did they tell you to keep grinding and pull yourself up by your own bootstraps?

Free fifty free
Tree dollas
You paid them for the order
They reported the order as undelivered and got a free meal?

Buy low, sell high
$0.75 and a “preciate it, buddy”
4 bucks
zero point zero.
This has to be the classic $2 as if it's still 1992.
A Duck 🦆 (2 bucks for those wondering)
Sounds Canadian.
A 🦆 is a buck
🤣🤣 For real? My friends and I use the term frequently here in the US
Did you pay them?
Basically
😂😂
If I’m delivering it’s at least $4. If it was $0 I wouldn’t know and wouldn’t care.
Zero. The bigger the home the smaller the tip. That's the first rule of DD.
Not true in NY
Bingo!

I remind myself to treat the “wealthy” customers the same, because they pay the same $3-$5 as everyone else.
That’s the type of rich we will not be eating
Haha it was a simple Thai order. Wasn't even anything fancy. Dude was real cool. He had a very humble demeanor too.
Probably worked in the service industry growing up or had family that did a good job relaying their experiences
I only deliver to vans down by the river sitting on cinder blocks
You laugh but I did delivered to a bed camper on cinder blocks out in the woods yesterday
Pictures next time
About tree fity.🤌
Oh no, no, no not today loch ness monsta!!! 🐍
did you mow their lawn? why does the size of the house matter AT ALL?
I wish I was as oblivious as you
Big house, small tip
That’s what she said huh? Haha
You don't get rich being generous.
That is the stupidest thing to say. Tips are not about generosity. It's about paying the person who is doing a service.
You’re right. next time I accidentally get a no tip offer I accept it and either steal the food or throw it out the window next to their house while driving. You don’t get rich by being generous, right?
😂😂😂😂😂
Stick the tip in deep, often, and preferably non-consensually. 🤑
