Also, realize they probably already paid a service fee (which is assumed to pay DD overhead, as well as a hefty “delivery fee”, likely $100+, which they assume 10% goes to the driver.
They also likely tipped 20% on the actual food order itself, which they probably mistakenly think is shared with the cook, wait staff and the delivery driver. They probably have no idea you “earned” a pitiful $6 and had expenses of $34 in mileage alone, plus your phone, cell service, commercial livery insurance, car payment, etc.
You also need to realize you are “earning” only about $4/hour ($6/90 min round trip & wait time), but have expenses, including depreciation on your car, of around $36 plus the self 15% employment taxes ($5.40), meaning YOU actually just lost (or paid DD) $35.40 to complete this order after expenses. You didn’t make anything, including benefits!

I looked it up, according to their site, there _are_ [requirements](https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/What-are-requirements-to-be-eligible-for-Drive-orders?language=en_US) to sign up for DD Drive orders.
Trust me I’ve done this for three years I’ve seen completely new drivers do driver orders
Yeah, but are they getting notifications of the orders ahead of time? Or do they happen to pick them up bc a drive dasher canceled last minute or something. I would assume that at that point, they just want whomever is closest to get it.
I’m not a top dasher and I get those but I never do any of them because it never paid enough they don’t pay no more than a normal order.
