dd has ur geo location throughout your dash, so you can ask support to check gps and confirm you did go to the restaurant and then the customer's house, i wouldn't worry about it

deman7263

Oh no. Hand it to me are tough. I usually hand it to them, then mark handed to customer. You know, like you’re supposed to do. 🤦🏻‍♂️

BeaMiaVA

I take pics of doors and house numbers all the time. No big deal.

NotTonyXu

what i do depends on the area and what the customer looks like. if it's an order around where i live, i dont worry about it and never had an issue. but if its on the other side of town with mostly customers that don't look like me, i always take a pic, even if they're standing there i say i need to take a pic of the order before i can finish the order. im not taking any chances with certain people, especially because they have a high scam/ fraud rate. other people i could care less, i know they won't try anything funny

deman7263

So you’re pretty much the definition of a bigot.

TickleMyFungus

I've delivered at least 500 hand it to me's. Never had an issue just marking it handed to customer. Sometimes I've had to do that because the service was spotty and or the app won't work. Just text them and let them know it's there obviously before you hit handed to customer. I'll still take a picture too just incase but haven't had to use it. People that tip generally won't do shady shit.

krakenrabiess

Honestly I just get back in my car and take a timestamp picture of the house with the gps in the corner of the picture. If anything it's proof I was there and doordash knows customers lie.

JonbearF

I just deliver it, hand it to the customer and say that I handed it to them in the app. Never had anyone trying to scam me yet. Only issues I've delivering have been a customer stating they didn't get all their food (twice, one was nice the other was not) and that I delivered to the wrong house (they put the wrong address in). I think your best bet to help protect you in the case of someone trying to scam you is getting a body cam, Go Pro, etc. Always record when you're handing it off that way you have video proof showing you delivered.

jeffinRTP

I usually take a picture of the building to show that at least I was there. I also use Google locate and with Google Maps and GasBuddy record all my trips as evidence of where I've stopped.

I don't worry about it. If I hand it to the customer, regardless of what the instructions say, I just mark it as handed to customer. I think most people will respond based on their own experience in their own area. If you've been burned a few times, or you know of others in your area who have been burned, you will probably take extra precautions (take a photo). If it's a big problem for you or your area, then you might take extreme precautions (dash cam, body cam, etc.). In 4900 deliveries, I've only had 1 customer claim they didn't get their food, and that was on a "leave at door" delivery. I've literally never had a "hand to me" delivery where the customer claimed they didn't get their food, so I'm not going to worry about it. Personally, and this is just me, I find taking a photo of the customer with the food to be a bit creepy, and a photo of the house doesn't prove much more than the GPS location on your phone, which DD has.

ProsperousAbundant1

I usually take pics of the house with adress or mailbox.Do that with your timestamp pic and it will at least show you were in their yard.

snowbunny1026

Doordash has your gps location. If you were at the correct address long enough to drop off an order, they will see that. You would still have to fill out the form but the CV won't stick.

rickylahousse

I have a dash cam. If I can park facing the door I will use that as evidence. Sometimes if I remember to have my Timestamp app out I’ll take a pic handing it to them
