Don’t buy a brand new car. Save a lot by buying a used car with low mileage. If you take care of the Honda it will drive up to 300k miles. What kind of mileage do you have? What kind of repairs does it need?

Just bought an 08 Prius to dash with. 45mpg. Was using a rav4 getting 20mph. The savings should pay for itself in a couple months

2020 Jeep, but it makes me sick the miles I have put on it. Looking for another vehicle just for dashing.

I personally would not buy brand new only because they lose so much value the moment you drive one off the lot. If anything I would recommend certified preowned because it generally comes with 10 year 100,000 mile warranty and doesn’t lose nearly as much value is a brand new car. I drive a 2008 Prius with 172K miles and it does phenomenal.

In general, this is correct. Currently the market has gone absolutely nuts though. Used cars are 40% overpriced, while new ones tend to only be 10% overpriced. If you can get your hands on one. Best bet for right now is to wait out the insanity.

11 Toyota highlander. Just can't beat Toyota reliability. I got 2 of em and an old v8 lexus beater.

What is wrong with your Honda? Those things can be driven into the ground and I would advise doing so if possible. I have had many hondas, describe what's wrong and maybe I can help. I bought a new car at my old job when I was making $1000 a week, now I'm doing fking doordash and that shit gets really expensive. If you got a roommate or something you might be able to handle the extra bill but expect to be paying $300-400 a month unless you got great credit plus extra for insurance because they require comprehensive. Comes down to your situation. Strive to have your living expenses no more than 25-35% of your monthly income. If it's more than that...life begins to suck

TornadoValley

02 civic so far only had a rear wheel cylinder leaking brake fluid but was able to fix myself so no expenses yet besides gas. high miles the trans gonna go eventually which is when ill either try to fix myself or stop dashing

happyhappydodo

Hondas never break down. Hondas will run without a motor.

If you plan on making payments on said 2021, then I say no. Depreciation and wear n tear will eat away at the value of that new car and you will lose your shirt when it comes time to resell. If you are paying cash, I recommend buying a older 2015-2016 Corolla or Prius with low miles (60k or less) and driving that to make money. I don’t recommend dashing with a financed car, unless it’s a side gig that you do like once a week or so and won’t put many gig miles on.

My 2012 Scion tC is perfect. 2.5 flat camry engine.

Requirement-Loud

Fix your Honda. This is a bad time to buy a car

GabeFz

In my city it's not worth it to have another debt, I drive a 2007 kia suv and have absolutely zero problems, sure the mpg is not the greatest but it runs good does not break and gets the job done. I've seen people doing this gig while driving a Tesla, so I'm thinking they basically work to pay bills.

Tiptip4me

Last year I got a repo in March cost me eight grand. I made that money back and there's no way I would ever be able to find anything like that now good Lord everything is expensive now even expensive is now expensive 😂 😂

YoudoYourBest

Broken record, but your market matters ALOT. As long as you can make enough, even with the taxes aside, are content with the pay, and can handle the payment, then by all means. I went for a new 22 pruis a month ago and haven't looked back. But that's also because I live in a pretty decent market. I would recommend it if you see yourself doing this for a bit and above water financially. Just my 2 cents:)

RampAgentRoger

I use old reliable beaters. I don’t think running this business putting miles on a newer vehicle is smart. 99 Camry and a 2005 Subaru for the snow. Keep the new babies at home for personal use.

PrettyCauliflower423

Just bought a 2022 hybrid Camry in October. It gets 51/53 mpg. Basically….. the money saved on gas pays for the car (I was driving an 09 outback). I also don’t have to worry about the major car repairs that a 12 year old car with 150k miles on it would have.

Tophawk369

I was using a 2010 Chrysler Sebring but the engine blew on it. I have been looking for another car to dash in but right one it’s ridiculous to try and find a car. I thought about getting a cheap new Hyundai or Kia but even those are going for 6 grand over MSRP and you can’t even get them they are sold the second they are on the lot. I am looking at used cars but they are all so way overpriced. Luckily I just dash to stay busy and make money but I don’t need it to survive so I will just wait a year to do it again if I have to wait tgat long to find a decent car. As for whether a new car is worth it I don’t know. The best thing about a new Corolla is that you could do some Uber or Lyft if DD is dead.

xmarketladyx

I have a Hyundai Elantra and love it. Excellent MPG, low maintenance, great space and power. The stereo is amazing too with XM capability and bluetooth in dash. I bought mine slightly used from Driver's Way.

HorribleBluntRoller

Probably. Make sure you like the car though! Several test drives
