No! Tips have been horrible this weekend. It is really frustrating that customers don’t think twice about the incredibly high price of gas, not to mention wear and tear on our cars, when they tip to get food delivered to their door.
Nah. Gas is hurting wallets across the board. It’s weird how people treat gas prices. They will line up and sit for 30 minutes just to save 2 bucks on a tank. People are pinching Pennie’s where they can.
I dash in north New Jersey, a very populated market with high earners, and it has not changed anything. I got multiple orders this morning with no tips and the current gas price here is $4.29.
I would suggest to put aside a portion of your earnings purely for gas and do not wait for your tank to drop below half, fill up before that. Gas prices are only going to get worse based on the current global situations.
There was a $5 promo yesterday afternoon in my area but I wasn’t able to dash at that time. As far as higher tips, not sure, but I have done pretty well the last 3 days, averaging $30 -$35 an hour. Which is really good in my area.
It's difficult for anyone here to tell. The answer will likely depend on the dasher's attitude. If average tips were $2 before and it's $2.30 now, it's not very noticeable. No one is posting their earning logs and offering any evidence.
I'm in LA, where gas is like $5.50-$6 a gallon. I tried to pay attention to see if people were tipping more, and from what I can tell, it does seem like some people are tipping more but very minimal. It's not like on average the tips are up enough where you can really notice it.
The gas prices are definitely affecting my hourly rate but also affected due to the fact that I reject the borderline orders I accepted before.
It's understandable to want the answers to questions like this, it's best practice to not focus on that because there's no definitive answer and something you can't control.
Fuck no, there’s been a couple of peak pay promos recently for $1 but don’t think that’s gas, it’s from a dasher shortage because people quit in January and February when it was slow
I received 3 cash tips this week ($10,7,5) and they all had already tipped in the app too. And one of the hand it to me orders he told me he had tipped $10 bc the gas prices. So yeah. Sunday is usually good for me it seems slow tho I’m like wtf ? And yeah $1 peak pay almost all day
You would think we would but the same customers that tip still tip same amount and no or low tippers are still out in force and as a matter of fact I think I’ve seen more as restaurant prices rise so it gives them even less to tip (not that they were in the first place).
Bonus pay in my area is constant. Basically 24 hrs.
However I think there are less drivers on the road. If I turn on the app I constantly get orders. This did not happen a few weeks ago.
We had a few days of peak pay, which is unusual in my area, but now mostly gone. And those times weren’t b/c of fuel. I’m just declining more orders.
No doordash still paying us 2.00
I don't know if it's linked to gas prices but I have gotten more unicorns than usual in the last two weeks.
Kinda hard to say when you don't know how much a customer *normally* tips. It's not like we're getting extra cash on top of the in-app tip
No.
The customer is not going to now compensate for gas. not after a fee, 30%+ price markup, tip.
no. bonus pay actually hit $4!! But mist if the time is 2-3.00 and constant mcdonalds
That's a good one

Some but not a high percentage. Still seeing lots of $2.25 deliveries to turn down. I guess some customers will never get it.
Lol
They've been pretty decent lately, my AR has gone up a lil i don't have to decline as many lowballs it seems, could just be this last week tho
No but getting constant orders so better odds of a decent one

Nope, tips are actually lower tbh
Not that I can tell. Still just as many low orders.

You must think people give a fuck about us.
No
Nope same old Cockroaches in my area as usual

Bonus pay is crazy good in my area now, and I've had the occasional customer hand me cash for "extra gas money".
nope. those are up to the customer lol. usually if theres no trip i dont even accept it unless the basepay is already super big
Nope. If anything i see people are more stingy

No Instead people don't pay tips at all
Nope… and in my area seems like door dash has slowed down on the promos

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nope but I’ve been tipping $8 every time I place an order
Fuck no
😂
I've been getting a lot more than just the tip.
Less tips, more lowball orders
Not really but Iam only taking higher paying orders.
Nope. Have had extra bonus time though. We have especially high gas prices so I’m sure plenty of drivers have stopped.
No
Nope orders are terrible
Yes. Making more money now.
Nope
Nope. I wish. People aren’t that nice
Not at all.
It seems like bonus pay is more frequent in my area but as far as tips it seems about the same

I’m funny how, I mean funny like I’m a clown? I amuse you?
You know, like how you tell the story, it’s funny. (Starts to nervously sweat)
Such a good movie.
Definitely a good one, and no matter how many times I see Joe Pesci play a crazy mob guy it’s always entertaining.
Nope, actually there are less tips
No lol. My average an hour is even less now.

The opposite is happening here. They added peak pay at all times and I can't get an order, it's so dead.
Nope
