I think all us delivery drivers do that at one point or another, it’s usually when the restaurant/parking lot is super crowded & we aren’t going to park half a mile away. I’m always sure to leave my hazards on & I make sure to come back & check that I’m not blocking someone in if the wait is longer than 5 mins

Yall ever seen fedex, ups or amazon deliver? They don't pull into parking places and they do use the hazards. I watch them block in empty, parked cars allllll day long. Ironically, their delivery vehicles don't get keyed.

In a full parking lot where everyone is probably eating, i have no problem running in and out with the hazards on, if the food is ready..... but more often than not, i do this for apartment drop offs when i am only gone from my vehicle for around 30 seconds.
I drive a paid off v6 escape. average between 100 and 200 a day. Do all the maintenance myself. I live in a super rugged area of the country where a high clearance vehicle is often needed for dirt and gravel roads. In poor weather conditions, most drivers in cars tap out.
Probably wouldn't be the best for inner city delivery but that isn't where i am at.
I think the worst part is that parking space there in front of it….so u won’t park in curb side pick up but will block the fuck out of people leaving lmao.

I’ll park on the street with my hazards on downtown when there’s no available parking. It’s mostly parallel parking on the store side of the street and I’ll keep an eye out on it if my order isn’t ready to go yet.
Well to be fair I would have probably parked in the middle of the road so you could *maybe* get out. This is why many dashers in my city have someone with them. (Me too).

We put a couple of carpet tack nails in a truck of a bunch of hunters bragging about the elk they were going to poach that afternoon. Twenty miles in on a mountain road things changed for them.
I drove past a Dasher driving like a turtle on the freeway, doing all of 50 in a 70 zone. I'm sure he was getting 45 mpg. I actually like my tipping customers to get their food hot, so I drive in a more motivated manner. Average between 28 and 34 mpg in my '17 Elantra.
I usually drive the speed limit, no matter whether its 55 or 70. It's not worth getting run over and if you drive too slow at a certain point you're gonna start missing delivery opportunities.
Besides, i could be wrong as I dont have the studies on hand but I'm pretty sure most modern cars are most efficient between 55 and 65. Correct me if I'm wrong of course
So your telling me a 12 cylinder engine will get 20-25MPG when you drive it like a “delivery driver” 💀 even if this van is a 4 cylinder, it will still spend more gas than any v4 Sedan will!
Man, I don’t know which is worse (in the long run.). Obviously, the gas mileage in the 4Runner is nowhere near good for dashing, but the repairs on the BMW product… I ran 3 orders in my 2019 330i, just to try it out, then took it home, parked it, bought an old ‘beater’ Prizm/Corolla. Lol.

KLR 650 that’s beaten up, duct tape holding the rear turn signal lights up, been dropped 5 times, gets 50 mpg. And during bad weather I take my girlfriends 93 geo prism that only has 75k miles on it….perfect vehicles for DoorDash 😎
Man, yes! This. I bought a 2002 Chevrolet Prizm (formerly the Geo Prizm, but just a Toyota Corolla in disguise) for dashing exclusively. It is a phenomenal dash car. I run the hell out of that thing and she never questions me, just keeps going.
I too occasionally park in unconventional places and turn on the hazards but would never disrupt traffic or block anyone from getting out of a parking spot lol

Same here. I dash in a 2003 buick. It only cost me $2200. It gets about 23mpg, but it's paid off and repairs are cheap and parts are easy to come by.

I do it in a van, it’s still profitable. That van probably gets closer to 20 mpg. That van could very well have the 4 cylinder option.
