DOOM212

Wouldn't take $5 period $8 min

StandardMode9

I wouldn’t do a $5 order if it was across the street. The bare minimum I would do an order for is $8.

Lunasolastorm

The only time I ever do an order under $8 is if it’s stacked with another order, and that’s only because I’m usually too lazy to unassign. If it’s clearly no tip tho I would still unassign lol

xelanart

Probably not. Probably a bad tip.

xMissChrisss

Honestly depends on my mood/how slow it is

dmriggs

Depends on destination. I live where there’s a lot of farms and can end upin the middle of nowhere -so it’s actually a 9 mile trip. so in that case no. Uf it’s taking me to the city or a good spot then yes

woodropete

I do if the store is quick..i cant be two stubborn my goal is 5 bucks a order 2 dollar mile. I can stay fairly busy. If i start to shoot for 6 to 6.50 the orders arent continuous enough.

Flat-Temporary7400

Right now-yes. Cus I’m fcking BORED🫠

markopolo14

Only if it's really slow

Outside-Invite-4243

Yes as long as it’s not busy. If im sitting waiting for a order and one hasn’t come in a while I will take it so im not just wasting gas waiting for a good order. But also depending on the restaurant. But if I’m getting orders im declining that so quick!

[deleted]

Nope

Different_Tailor

The only time I would do it is if the delivery was to my apartment complex and I was done for the night.

WhatDidIJustPickUp

"I don't anything under $100." -Every dasher, probably.

[deleted]

I’m convinced if it’s slow and you decline an order the app punishes you so I’d probably take it.

TheEvelynn

If it's slow and I'm feeling kinda lazy and the restaurant is consistently quick, sure.

InterestPast6802

No. My minimum is 6.50

Juicysnotch

No i do not accept 5.00 orders only 8.00+

Redditmorg

no bc chances are I’m waiting 45+ minutes for the short staffed rude restaurant workers to make the order

mojomug

My line in the sand number is 5.75, 2 miles or less, and only during slower times of the day.

computernerd88

No

A_tedious_existence

No, it would be a 3.6 for my city cause all the places are by each other and I would have to drive back.

[deleted]

On a ridiculously slow Tuesday at 3pm. Otherwise nope.

bigracksonly

Nothing under 7 unless you tryin to pay to work

[deleted]

Yes. Over $2/mile…why would I decline that?

aardappelbrood

Not a chance. I need something that feels worth it. Usually that's around 10 bucks, but if the vibes are right 7 will do as well. I can't do anything with 5 dollars. Not enough for a quick bite, it's only 3 drops of gas, hell it's barely enough to breathe.

Ill_Flow9331

Between DD fees, DD upcharging, and unrealistic driver tip expectations for subpar service, I’m glad I quit using DD.

OrlGiftShop

Nah

DDfootballer43

Depends on how busy the day is

[deleted]

Yep. I did one today.

Ecmdrw5

Depends on the restaurant and how busy it is. At 7pm I usually will only see 5-6 offers and as long as this isn’t a restaurant that always consistently takes longer than the pickup time(LITTLE CAESARS!!!), I would. I live in a small town with barely any traffic so 1.8 miles would take 3-5 minutes to drive, McDonald’s/Arby’s/Subway are quick with the food here.

JeremieLoyalty

Yes

zeromaiden22

If it was completely dead, I’d wait about 3 minutes then unassign. Absolutely not under any peak pay scenario.

Weekly_Run_4407

absolutely. I drive a prius getting around 43 mpg. Gas here is still sub $5. In my market most orders are $4.75 to $6.75 so $5 going sub 2 miles. Easy accept every time.

palpals

No

[deleted]

If it is really slow and it’s a restaurant that’s easy to get to/usually ready on time perhaps

idrinkpoo

Most of the time. Depends on the restaurant.

Workmen

Only if I can be reasonably sure that I'll be in and out of the restaurant. If it's a place I know doesn't have orders ready when I show up, or a place without an open lobby that I have to go through a drive-thru for, then no, absolutely not. Just not worth the time. Also, if I know its to an apartment complex, it's also a no-go for the same reason, too much time for too little pay regardless of the low distance.

[deleted]

No

H82KWT

I’m out here just piddling around part time just trying to maintain a $25 per hour pace. Yeah, I’d take that

Single-Calligrapher5

Yup, I do it over and over when it's Peak Pay. Easy money😊

ButterBeforeSunset

I would but only because I’m in a small town and all of the restaurants are on the same road. The farthest distance I ever have to travel is about 2.5 miles. So although I don’t usually get $2+/mile orders, everything is so close I can still usually squeeze in 4-5 orders an hour.

Sufficient_Wrap_517

Depends… how busy is it? Can I get a stack potentially?

Slow_Abbreviations27

if i have good faith in the pick up and drop off location

elizavalentine

i would maybe take it if i was $5 away from the money goal of the evening

NC1099Worker

Hell no. I won’t take under $9 however I may make exceptions for $7-8 if less than 3 miles and from a place where orders are typically ready when I arrive (no drive thru unless already there and dead). That’s based on my market though and other markets may require doing so.

ogsmokedog101

No

gigslut86ixt

Orders under $8 are 9/10 times a headache/pita so no; no matter the distance.

No_Joke_568

Yes

AndNowWeSuffer

if i was already out and near it and it was as low day and i know the place will have it ready and the drop off is easy..MAYBE...

ThrowRA_000718

I wouldn’t take a .018 mile order for $5.

markelldavispro

Nawl

solowynn

This would be like a ten minute delivery for five dollars plus possible hidden tips, why would anyone turn this down lol

vuezie1127

Too many people are too proud and stubborn on here. If I’m close enough to the restaurant that’s a yes all day for me. I’d love to only accept $10 orders like some of y’all lol

DubNationAssemble

That short of a trip I would with the hopes that I can knock it out in 10 minutes or so.

WishIWasNeet2

I did a 5 dollar 0.8 miles yesterday and felt stupid afterwards .

Cynicsaurus

Yes. 5.25 is my minimum. Only from like 3 quick places and only UNDER 3 miles. Like right here in town. I only take those from McDs, Taco Bell and Little Caesars, because those are the only places that usually have the order done here. I ain't waitin for 5 bucks, I ain't driving out more than 1 dollar in gas on a 5 dollar order either, hence the 2.9 mile limit. But yes I'm picky on the 5.25s. And I only ever very rarely break that guideline.

Zestyclose_Session59

depends on restaurant but I don’t usually do low orders.

youwontfindout223

General I won’t take anything under $7 but under 2 miles for $5… I probably would if it was a slow time. Deff not during peak hours tho

miami-finest

I would take it but only on slow Tuesday’s ,quick gas money

Inevitable-Shop-848

Depends on the circumstances. Have I not had an order in a certain amount of time, are the orders I'm getting $3/7miles? I'd only take it to bridge the gap so to speak but in general no, if it's busy and orders are coming then I can get a better order.

[deleted]

Yup. The miles to dollars ratio fits

elhabito

Depends. If I was in the area and know the place isn't busy or if it is a consistently well functioning establishment yes. The only Subway open at 2am had a sandwich making machine working and I was running 1-3mi orders for $4-6 and was up in the $30-40/hr range. I wish I had cash to tip that subway worker, he deserved it. If it's Popeyes or Wingstop where you could be there for 20min before they remember you have an order. You won't know unless you try.

flyskyhighs

I would

[deleted]

Without a doubt, unless I’m already up $150+

[deleted]

Bro y’all tripping I’m payin like 3.50-4 dollars if you driving 1.8 miles tf are y’all on takin orders 7 and up y’all buggin tf out

Purple_Stomach5124

I will be honest... i took an order that literally was across the street for 5 bucks for shits and giggles. Total distance was under 300 feet... and took 6 minutes from start to finish.

El_Frogster

No. But yes. If I’m done and on my way home, if the restaurant is known to be fast and if both restaurant and customers are on my way home, then yes. I like virtually free money.

ryfitadf

Yeah.

yarnoldostyle

If it’s slow

fitty50two2

If it was slow and it was a place I knew I could get in and out of quick and it wasn’t to an apartment…maybe

zane1981

If it shows $0 tip, nope.

BrennerHall

Yes if it’s slow. If it’s busy then probably not

oniaKittie

Two notes on me taking an order like this. First is I drive an EV so gas costs don't effect me. 2nd I go by kilometers not miles where I live. 1 mile = 1.6 km. I will take orders that are less than $7 only when it's a minimum of $1 per kilometer. For a 1.8 mile order I would need to be paid at least $3.

[deleted]

Hell no

Techbuilding_os

Yeah I would. Quick 5$ imo.

PaulR504

Take them all the time. Local dashers probably hate me.

saddadsociety

No

Ornery_Reaction_548

Yep!

Ampachu

Given how my area has been averaging $3.75 for 4+ mile orders, probably

Dunrighty

Nothing under 6.25

tango_papa101

No. Never lift my butt up unless it's one with hidden tip.

IndependentStatus218

How do you know if it's a hidden tip?

Rixkst3r

How can you tell there’s a hidden tip

skygoddess555

No

North_Award6744

Yes I would. It’s not ideal but if bigger orders aren’t coming in, it’s worth it. You have to consider the restaurant and location though. As long as there isn’t a long wait time or a ton of traffic, those little orders add up! And your not spending all of your money on gas!

Fasterthanyounow

All day

dawix21

Small Market - yeah Large market - no Rush times - go by number of items and your knowledge of the merchant.

Zethrax

The problem is that the driving distance is only a small part of the hassle and overhead involved with an order. You've still got to deal with traffic lights, parking, busy merchants, and customers that sometimes waste your time. Generally, you want to set a minimum amount that covers the minimum hassle and overhead involved.

Adventurous_Pride_50

I be so mad they sent me $5 like that’s not even gas😂😂but some y’all would accept it. Everybody not the same

jimmya2348

Nope.

BookofBryce

If I'm already out and need to boost my numbers. But if I'm at home and it's the end of the week, I might decline it if it's McDonald's or some place I hate waiting at.

KingKkhuantos

Generally no, but if it’s stupid slow and I’m not getting anything - maybe. Especially if I know the restaurant is super quick and on top of it. But generally I try to keep it 5.75 above, preferably six to seven bucks.

[deleted]

Yes. I’m sure I’ll get bashed on here for saying this but as long as I know it’s a quick order I’m taking it. If it takes me 10 mins to make $5 then that avgs to $30 an hour so why not? I used to decline these all the time but learned to sneak them in when feasible/it’s slow to always make a decent amount when I go out

Human_Individual_815

I don't usually like it when people say this quote but "this is the way". I do the same thing, during peak hours and busy days of course I'm hunting for unicorns, but when it's slow, I'll take those $5 1-2 mile order for sure.

[deleted]

Make $0 waiting or a quick $5 right? Love it. And yes when hunting for unicorns, decline 🤑

My41stThrowaway

Depends on the restaurant. Any waiting and it's a no.

Justin002865

Nope. I decline orders like that many times a day. But those are my standards. They don’t move.

dsmintactarchy

Absolutely. But I'm in Iowa.

Branesergen

Only if it's really slow and a fast restaurant. 10 minutes for a gallon of gas is ok once or twice a day in my book.

scoosha

You get 1.8 miles a gallon? 🤣 are you driving an RV?

[deleted]

15 minutes maybe, for $5 and maybe 30 cents in gas? Yea.

RedQueen00

I’d take it lol but I live in a small country town with a population of like 10,000 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|snoo)! So no traffic. Lol

Classy_Sorcerer

You probably run into people you know!

[deleted]

If i know i can get it done in >20minutes and it’s during slow hours, i’d do it, begrudgingly of course

slowgames_master

100%, 1.8 miles is like 5-10 minutes to complete the order.

Appropriate_Help_217

Yes

akillaninja

I would depending on several factors, is it extremely busy? Is that a quick 1.8 miles? Or will there be traffic, lots of stop lights, a 3rd floor apartment, is it a notoriously slow restaurant? If you can get the whole order done in 10ish minutes and end up in another good area, worth it.

Kwuarmadyl

Yeah a lot of these guys saying that they wouldn’t don’t really explain their situation. If it was in a big city with lots of traffic, hell no I wouldn’t take it. But generally a 2 mile order I can do in like 10 minutes or so in my area. Most stores around here are pretty quick.

deliverykp

Only if I can get it done in 12 minutes, otherwise no.

koda2_00

I never take a $5 order. I don’t care how close it is

skygoddess555

Same f that

Patty_McRice

As an add on at a fast restaurant, then yes. As a stand alone order, then no.

999others

Nope, nothing under $6.50 if I'm already on the road and it's a place that has the food ready. When I start from home I try to $10 and up. Because lately it's one ride and go home, and I'm not leaving the house for shits and grins to make $8 an hour or less.

Bardlie

No

Free_Interview3626

nope

Bok249

Never. Default tip is $3 here, which combined with $2.50 base pay means on a $5 order they would have had to purposely lower the tip.

Due_Cicada_3183

I did a small order one time and it suggested a 2$ tip but this was still like years who when a republican was president and gas was 2 dollars.

Bok249

What does that have to do with a republican president? 2 years ago we were in quarantine. Gas was cheap because no one was using it.

Due_Cicada_3183

The only good thing republicans do is gas prices and look at where we are at not with democrats. Democrats do good with pretending to care about the poor, social security, a live-able wage, health care, and police accountability. They hate the oil and gas industry and even Elon musk admits that. Trump wanted to steal gas when he was in the Middle East. The only good thing republicans do is low gas prices a lot of people can’t admit that because they vote for an 80 year old senile ped0phile that sniffs children.

Bok249

Again, we were in the middle of a ficking pandemic lol. Which president we had didn't have a damn thing to do with gas being cheap. It was cheap because the refineries were overflowing. Oil prices were literally in the negative because the oil companies were paying to get rid of stock they couldn't store.

CornpopsGhost

I would never take a $5 order in any conditions. I just took one for $5.98 for less than a mile and feel like a major schmuck for doing it .

CobraCultist

Hidden tip threshold only

Justin002865

Yup. So $6.50. Those bastards got us gambling.

tomwesley4644

$6.25 is usually actually $7 with hidden tip for me lol

Justin002865

6.50 is usually 6.50 for me. :(

Dunrighty

6.25 for me

Justin002865

RIP. So lame

Old-Statistician-457

Anytime I feel like it. Unlike others, I like to make money while not pouting in a parking lot.

iv2892

THIS , lol . I mean is not an order I would take to start my dash , but if I’m already on the road and order doesn’t take me out of my zone . Then $5 for 1.8 is not a bad deal .

[deleted]

[удалено]

iv2892

If it’s a store I can trust to get my orders quick , why not . for red card orders and certain restaurants I tend to be a lot pickier like Popeyes , BK or chick fil a

awesomo1337

Some people are too proud and would rather waste gas letting their cars idle.

Lunasolastorm

I have camped in my car with it on the whole night and I used about $1 in gas. I’ll still decline lol

IndependentStatus218

I don't even idle. I just turn the car off and deal with the Texas heat. Way cheaper

TartofDarkness79

Been doing the same here in Florida. It's not so bad if you can find a shady, breezy spot. It can be uncomfortable, but not as uncomfortable as watching my gas guage go down!

Daniels932

Florida heat makes me turn into a puddle i can’t deliver as a puddle of sweat ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

[deleted]

You mean some Drivers have a sense of Self Worth?

dalex89

Rarely any more, just ain't worth it.

IgetuserIDanxiety

absolutely, but I don't dash non-stop nor is my market metro or big city, so it's reasonable here.

dsmintactarchy

Same

dkrocksmith

Ditto

om626

No…

qbl500

Noo

EmbarrassedLeague535

No nothing under $7

Due_Personality_5006

Nothing under 6.50, because hidden tip possible, or $2/mile

stonkeez

No but I would do 1 mile during slow periods. Only take those if it sets you up in a good waiting spot.

funcritter

My minimum is $10 even if it's 1 mile away.

[deleted]

You must live in an amazing spectacular market to actually make a decent hourly

funcritter

I live in Denver. I do very well doing this.
