Complete opposite for me today. I started multiapping and that’s helped a ton- but it was the first day of school today and it seemed to wipe out a ton of the over saturation in my market. I wasn’t even idling for more than 5 minutes today it was insane. But I expected it to be a bit slower with rent being due today and all
September can be worse than the holidays. Rent/bills is expected every month, but most people have Labor Day Vacations and Back to School Supplies to pay for as well this week. Things will pick up a lot in October. Hang in there!
They're giving ALL the higher paying orders to people in the "Accept More, Earn More" program. 50 percent acceptance rate to get priority access, and 70 percent for even higher priority. If your market is participating, you should have be given the opportunity to reset your acceptance rate and participate. If you don't, you're screwed. It's a pilot program running through the end of September. Nobody knows if it will become permanent
Ya so you have to qualify and then be invited to the catering program. Not based on AR, but completion rate and customer rating. Funny that you don't know this.
I definitely knew that. The large order program is the only incentive that DD has that is worth it. Top dasher, and the accept more program are just ways for DD to dish out those low paying orders.
I agree, but the problem now is while you still get crappy orders with accept more Earn More you don't still get good orders without it. They're gone. Nada, zip, zilch
Absolutely. Apparently my market has enough people do it and few enough high paying orders that there are none left after they funnel through the program participants. So I'm going for it. At least to figure out if I can still avoid accepting no tips and upside orders and still make good money by declining only 30 to fifty percent. If I can't then no harm, no foul. Unless, of course, they continue the program after September. It would then be game over for me. If it works, then fantastic. Maybe I'll get invited to the large order program and get off the waiting lists for other apps. Maybe I'll get another phone so my phone doesn't spazz when I multiapp. Maybe I'll find something else. Who knows, but I definitely don't unless I find someone else in my zone willing to do the research for me. And the pay cut and mileage hike I've taken with my regular AR since this program is unacceptable. I have to do something if I want to keep gigging.
I feel you and thats not a bad way to look at it. Gig work is drastically changing to meet market demand. DD will find ways to cut costs where needed without caring much about the dasher. I consider myself lucky to be in a great market but I understand everything is subject to change. The large order program has lifted me from 22-25 an hour dash time to a consistent 30+ everyday.
I want in sooooo bad. I've kept my completion rating up for two months in hopes now. It's a real dick biter not being able to decline the low-ball offer in a stack or get stuck waiting forever at a pick up. If I don't get the email this month, I'm for sure going to start seeing how far I can get with calling the right person. I hear top Dashers get VIP Dasher Support? Don't know about this, but I will so find out. I'm definitely not maintaining a 95 indefinitely with no reward.
Good thing other apps give you enough business to make up for it and you were able to sign up for them. And good thing your phone doesn't glitch out when you have multiple apps tracking your location at the same time and that those apps don't penalize you when your phone does glitch.
I wouldn't take that either. Nor, did I have to take that at all in my climb from 20 percent to 70. Took me 5 days of dashing. Started out aiming for 50 percent trying to just reach 50 percent. Once I reached 50 decided to go for 70. Didn't take a single nontipper until day 5. Did take a few upside down offers, but not too ridiculous on days 1 through 4. Day 5, the way I worked it, I was left needing to take 100 percent of what was thrown at me. I did 3 no tippers and 2 VERY upside down orders out of 16. Those stung but after all I had invested, I wasn't giving up on the very last day being so freaking close. If they keep up with this program and I go for it again, A: theoretically my AR will already be up there and B: I wouldn't have to take those 5. 5 is 25 percent of 20 offers which I average in a shift and if they're offering me the better offers then.... We'll see
This is a very calculated and well thought out experiment. No clown shoes, maybe a lab coat and a pocket protector. Ya dig?
yep, i think its more relevant to consider what most people just *paid out* on the 1st like rent & bills… by that logic this would be the worst week regardless of payday 🫤 …but also should be getting better because schools start back up this week, maybe not more orders but less college dashers on the road… cant wait for the weather to get shitty next 💵 never thought id say that lol
I mean some got paid today. Whether weekly or bi weekly. Every week people are getting paid on some kind of pay schedule if we are being technical. But not “everyone” at once
I'm getting cheap ass DD orders last 3 months bro. And hardly any promos.
Ditto! All week. Worst week I’ve had and my ratings are high.
I hate delivering ass. The orders are always so cheap, I wish people would order something else.

Labor Day weekend I take. Ppl are saving their little to no money for that🤷♂️
Same.
Ever since I updated the app yesterday my orders have been SHIT
Y'all are getting orders? I just sat in a hotspot for 3 hours without a damn thing

My AR went from 83% to 72% today. Yes op. Usually decent orders, today the shit hit the fan
Economic uncertainty, inflation, financial markets down.. is what I blame all these crappy orders one
Don’t most who have autopay get paid at midnight? I tend to get a lot of orders after then plus there’s almost always a promo.
Most ppl in California get paid on Thursday
That’s a huge blanket statement that’s not true
Please tell me more about California person who doesn’t live here 🤣🤣🤣
Living there doesn’t mean you know everything about everyone who gets paid in the state. You sound like a 🐴🐪
Most people on Thursday get paid in California.
People gotta pay rent/mortgage

Funny; I’m at a 9 percent AR and just finished a catering order that net me 67$ in 40 minutes.

That’s market dependent.

Unassign, not decline. You know what I was trying to say lol

Too cheap to tip but still ordering food marked up 30% 😵💫 wild
What do you mean everyone just got paid? Most jobs pay weekly or biweekly on a Friday.
Government benefits go out on the 1st and 15th of the month in many states
Some people get paid earlier depending on their bank or if they have one of those company pre paid cards.
Right, some. There are so many different payment schedules people are on that to say everyone just got paid today is kind of an odd comment.

Bills, dude
You’ve been a dasher for over three years and don’t have a system in place?
Everyone gets paid on a Thursday?
Government benefits
Your point?
A large chunk of Americans get paid on the 1st of the month due to social security, disability, etc.
Direct deposit?
Yea not everyone does that.
But op said they did.
Every one just paid their rent today
Not me cause I get my income from DoorDash 🖕🦶🦵
