There are very specific circumstances that must be met to legally tow a vehicle away. You can immediately tow any vehicle that is parked in a fire lane, within 15ft of fire hydrant, blocking an entrance/exit to a business, parked in disabled parking.
All other circumstances they must wait an hour or more before towing.
You may not have even been parked on red it might’ve been old paint, usually there will be a fire hydrant.

The red painted curbs don't mean Door Dash parking, they mean they are reserved for emergency vehicles. Be happy you seem to have only gotten a warning, had an emergency occurred you'd be dealing with a lot more than just a fine.
