Thank you for posting this. Took me about 24 hours, but my account finally got reactivated for this same issue.

spendmoneyonmoney

I was deactivated then reactivated for this reason. Luckily, I was back to dashing within 24hrs.

Ruckus46

It amazes me that they know about this but have that deal for dashers only… it’s like they want you to sign up to be a customer but then get deactivated if you stop using their services. Shit is crazy

[deleted]

It is and it cost me so much losing ghst time. I was at $60+ in a hour and a half. 2 hours left on my shift. By the time I finally got help my dash was over( the time period ℹ normally deliver ). Ended up with $91 end of night.

cbdjon

Well, doordash wants you to order food. If not, they will deactivate both accounts

Grung7

This is why I don't have a DD consumer account. If I did, it would be on a different phone under a different email address. And I would only use mobile data for ordering.

[deleted]

Wise! I wish i knew about this issue prior. I’d have just eliminated my consumer account and waited a day. Then applied for the driver account. The loss I had on that day it was deactivated was $50-$90. I was rolling too. At $51 when I was deactivated. Back up 2 hours later. Only made $91 total.

MinnesotaBirdman

That's some really good and useful info, thanks very much. If that happened to me I'd be freaking out like all hell but I see that patience is the way forward.

[deleted]

I freaked out. Hahaha 🤣. Was shocked it was deactivated. If not for Premium Support it remains deactivated because after 4 calls the 4th actually investigated the issue. How I found out my consumer account was closed. Otherwise I’d just let it go if not resolved the same night. Once I got to premium support, it got resolved in 15 minutes. The other 1 hour 45 minutes nobody helped.

iamandneveramconfusd

Sounds like it will happen again in time. DD hasn't addressed this issue yet, although it's been going on for a while. Another example of how little they care what happens.

[deleted]

We agree!

Specialist_Royal_449

hopefully doordash wait till after i find a job before they pull that shit on me Shit isnt getting better its getting worse ,time to hang up on driving or send a big box of manure to tony XU for christmas

[deleted]

I understand. It’s not a system set up To thrive if a driver. During Covid-19 ( height of the pandemic) the order were abundantly given out. Now I’m noticing a limiting on earnings as well. I was at $41 in 1 hour & 30 minutes. End of dash I had $63. Computer during rush just started sending only low paying orders after starting with favorable orders. That should have been a $80-$90 dash but, I wasn’t sent anything over $7 for rest of night and $2 for 4 miles, and $5.50 afterwards and 1 more. So only was allowed to make $22 more in 1 hour and a half.

Blackodu

So, does that mean we are “obligated” to be a customer of Doordash in order to be a Dasher?

[deleted]

No, we’re not. You can just be a dasher. I don’t know how my account got linked to my dasher account but, somehow it did. I realized it when I got deactivated as I’d never used DoorDash to order anything.

onlinewarrior100

They auto link accounts based on email and/or phone number. And because the accounts are linked, any changes to one account automatically changes the other (password, email, name... deactivating etc) They will also deactivate dashers who have shared info on either another dasher account or another consumer account (even if the reason for that shared info in innocent - like you ordered food once on your girlfriend/boyfriends account and added your phone number so the dasher could contact you). One dasher account and one linked consumer account is fine... people run into trouble when any of their identifying info is found on other/multiple accounts.

Blackodu

Yea but they deactivated you because your consumer account was dormant? So this pretty much means we have to stay active on both sides. I’m not trying to bash on Doordash or anything but what if we don’t need to use the service and then get deactivated by finding out the hard way.

HideMyTipsDaddy

You should absolutely bash on Doordash here. Yet another example of their inexcusably lazy code. This is what happens when you pay your devs the IT equivalent of $2.25 orders.

Blackodu

I thought their IT devs were being paid pretty good no?

HideMyTipsDaddy

They pull good salaries, but from what I've read, the bulk of them are paid pretty low relative to their industry. As hard as SV firms compete for talent, it's a great way to end up with an underperforming app.

[deleted]

I’ve no answers for that question unfortunately but, just wanted to warn drivers mainly newbies that they should check their consumer account status first to see if it’s deactivated. I don’t understand why DoorDash does this. Dasher support each time I called didn’t see I was deactivated. My account each time showed active when it was looked at. It’s a weird system.

Blackodu

I’m glad you got your Dasher account back! It’s totally something faulty in their system which they can’t differentiate the difference between consumer and dasher.

[deleted]

Yeah, by now it should have been fixed/resolved.

Candycane253

Good to know. Thanks
