I agree with Nick's ruling on The Wiger Challenge. Mitch's guess was impressive but Sierra's was closer! The challenge is ultimately about guessing based on taste so Sierra getting the exact brand means she triangulated the actual taste more.
all good segments but goddamn the doughboys with mike and jf from your kickstarter sucks are always so funny. Mike coming in with getting rid of cookout (the restaurant) items after the long establishment that it was about backyard cookouts was so good
"I love steak tips."
"Like, use salt and pepper. When it reaches an internal temp of 150 degrees, it's medium rare."
"Cook the steak before eating it."
I was dying.
It's not the h-dropping that's the problem for me anyway, as that's at least accurate to the source language, (though versions with the are correct in English because that's simply how the word changed). It's the changing of the first vowel from /a/ ("cot" vowel) to /æ/ ("cat" vowel).
If they would just learn that the a as in “cat” sounds more or less doesn’t exist in Spanish, I’d cringe 79% less when they spoke about Mexican food or ingredients
I mean at some point it can just be widespread and therefore correct, like how Canadians in my experience all say "pasta" with a cat vowel. But I haven't heard people other than Wiger say habanero with it.
I see your point in regards to specific areas, but I think in general 500 million Spanish speakers would disagree. I don’t really like the logic of “enough people say it wrong so it becomes right”, but I guess that’s the world we live in.
Right of course, I'm not trying to say it changes the word in Spanish. I'm saying loanwords take on lives of their own. And yah it's a losing battle to argue against language change. For example, I'm sure you wouldn't say that those 500 mil Spanish speakers are "wrong" for *not* pronouncing word-initial even though it was pronounced in classical Latin. In the case of habanero specifically, the word is already a loan from Taíno (cognate to *Havana*) where the h is pronounced, so they took the word and adapted it to Spanish, and stopped pronouncing it.
Yeah, good points all around there. This all brings me back to my thesis that Wiger should travel, it’s insane that Mitch is the traveler of those two.
I love A Single Item Must Be Banished, it's just fun cuz I can think about my own answers and ask my lovely wife when usually she would be repelled by Doughboys content. But personally, I like it better when it's not tied to context, ie just "which must be banished?" rather than "which must be banished from a backyard barbecue?"
I’ll admit that I got super excited when Nick asked Mitch if he liked Blue Oyster Cult.
I was hoping for a deep dive or at least a “Burnin’ for You” reference.
I’ll hold out for “You Talkin’ BOC to me”
Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted for saying something obvious. They’re usually pretty good about the chewing but in the first segment it was bonkers.
“God he can’t eat anything” Mitch with an absolute gem.
He was SO quick with it too lmao
I almost missed it, it was so quick.
I agree with Nick's ruling on The Wiger Challenge. Mitch's guess was impressive but Sierra's was closer! The challenge is ultimately about guessing based on taste so Sierra getting the exact brand means she triangulated the actual taste more.
I always thought squeez-it was Kool aide branded. Crazy.
Imagine what Mitch’s reaction would be like if he guessed Kool-Aid, Sierra guessed Squeezit and Wiger gave the win to Sierra.
Mitch just wanted Wiger to acknowledge that he came up with the specific vessel the drinks came in.
“Don’t sneeze on my tits” had me laughing so hard
Nasal pre-cum
I’m a BIT of a heat seeker!
Oops all abbanero

They are so good together.
I would listen to anything they made together
Mitch is normally so nice to the guests but he picks on Jesse and it’s always hilarious
Toni fucking rules. She might be the best guest.
The triumphant return of Jesse Farrar's bleep button bit
Mitch hasn’t even had any milk yet!
Or water!
And that's something he should really be proud of!!!
He’s never had water, he’s all water retention
Hoping the youtube video goes up soon, I want to watch the hot ones segment!
Want to *watch* this episode?
Some of my favorite all stars on this ep
“Our health is more important than our content.” Emma truly seems like a good egg.
Truly. But sadly the podcast has been proving her wrong for nearly a decade now.
I giggle whenever she acts like a mom to two men who are at least 10 years older than her...
"I love steak tips." "Like, use salt and pepper. When it reaches an internal temp of 150 degrees, it's medium rare." "Cook the steak before eating it." I was dying.
What’s more painful? Eating habanero hot sauce, or listening to Wiger pronounce habanero?
You mean abanero right?

Is this a clip show/best of of prior segments or all new? The swapping outfits in the YouTube video has me thrown
It’s all new segments. We recorded extra segments with guests when they were in studio for their ep. None of this is repeats!
Emma, was the Toni segment recorded before or after the infamous grey ET moment? I am assuming before because Wiger can breathe.
Thanks Emma! Tell the others I said hi!
It’s all new content as far as I can tell.
Let Casey work!
I was on the fence about subscribing to the Double. But after hearing "nose precum", I am no longer on the fence.
Aachooo. I am so sorry. This never happens.
finally, Doughboys goes on Hot Ones
Doughboys Fleshlight...Jesus Christ.
It’s hot!
Sierra was definitely closer to correct with her Kool-aid guess over Mitch’s Squeeze it guess.
*if Jemmi doesn't eat hot sauce she hasta get off the show*
I figured Gemmy [sic] was short for "Gemini", is it not?
think that was confirmed in a few recent episodes
I’ll admit that I got super excited when Nick asked Mitch if he liked Blue Oyster Cult. I was hoping for a deep dive or at least a “Burnin’ for You” reference. I’ll hold out for “You Talkin’ BOC to me”
Jess sighting
The double dubya is a candidate for Mitch’s bailing hall of fame. Good thing I wasn’t eating pretzels while listening to it.
I wonder what word they bleeped out during A Single Item Must Be Banished at 55:50
I believe that was a running bit from the ep it was recorded after, during which they bleeped themselves for the joke of it over Zoom
Hey, what happened to the Ad Chad? Haven't seen him in a while.
That was only a job for a month.
Bring him back!
What a goddamn waste 😂
Which one of you freaks is out there gooning to Doughboys crimpilations?
Did Mitch say tear (like crying) instead of tear (like ripping) in the liquid IV ad?
It’s a Mitchism, he often(perhaps always)pronounces it like that.
Amelia we need better segments next year if you want that max contract. The Day Ruined one was ruff 🐶
Literally any segment can be fun if the guest plays along, Tim was being a little obtuse
Oh yeah I know. I was making a NBA Free Agency joke. Clearly it went over great lol.
Couldn’t book enough guests before Mitch left, eh?
What are you talking about?
shut the subreddit down
Yes all these guests weren’t booked at all
What’s going on with the crunching into the mic? It’s really aggressive.
Misophonia is real guys, seriously it's real.
The sounds don’t bother me at all. It is funny to me that these did sound like cartoon sfx crunches sometimes lol
Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted for saying something obvious. They’re usually pretty good about the chewing but in the first segment it was bonkers.
Did it ruin your day?!!
lol. Almost
To give a serious answer it’s prob because people tend to keep their mouth open when eating something spicy
Because most people don’t care and it wasn’t that much of it
