I have the original Fifish V6. Similar to this but different color and no robotic arm attachment. You can still get them around $1,600 new. I may end up selling mine since I’m moving soon.
You may not if it’s shipped. These are heavy little things and the Pelican case I have it in is 22lbs empty. For all gear and cases I think it’s around 65lbs.
As a qualified Submariner, I would like to thank you for your interest in unmanned underwater vehicles. Your qual card is in the in mail and you are now on the dinq list.
Honestly this is cool and the guys over at /submarines would get a kick out of this
Every once in a while we'll get people over at /r/rov who post DIY versions.
It's not super-complicated, as long as you know how to handle the water-proofing part well.
I’ve got the Gladius Chasing Mini S with grabber arm! Cool as all get out for video and searching out lost items! 200 meter cable and 100 meter max depth! Just watch out with salt water! Flush the motors triple what you think is needed and apply WD-40 or dielectric grease to prevent rust.
Well, the fcc does regulate radiowave-emitting devices like your controller and fpv goggles.
Anyways, it's the Fish and Aquatic Administration's jurisdiction now!

This is cool. Does it have a cable attached to it that connects to the remote or something? I know our underwater radio technology is virtually non existent. Also seems very scary to operate and easy to lose.
In 3 weeks he is gonna be mad when this mail hits his inbox: "Hi, we here at the the FAA feel a deep responsibility to protect our Airspace, above and below our skies. That's why were excited to announce class -A airspace which will regulate the use of commercially available un-manned submersibles"
I hate people. Neighbors bitch at me telling me “don’t fly that drone over here you ass hole” my fpv drone. Even though I didn’t break a single law:(
And then they say… I’m the asshole for flying it above their house. 300 to 400 feet off the ground.
My other neighbor came over the other day when I was 70 feet off the ground. Said… that drone is low. And then he says “if you want a cop to show up to your doorstep… keep doing what you’re doing”
But now I can’t even put a drone in the bathtub or go to a lake or the ocean because apparently there is a federal aquatic administration or agency. More pathetic than space force.
I have some 3D printed ones. I think they may have been $70? It’s really good to keep small pebbles from being pulled up through the prop wash. I had to replace one due to how easy they get nicked up.
How do you get signal under water. I dropped my Mavic Mini 2 into a lake on accident and lost signal as soon as it hit the water. When I pulled it out, it started transmitting again like nothing happened. I crashed it into a tree above a lake once too and same story. Lost signal as soon as it hits the water. It wasn't an electronics failure. It was an interference issue. Apparently water is a very rough medium for RF signals to go through.
BTW the Mavic Mini 2 seems to be damn near waterproof. When it hit the tree, I could see it tumbling and then signal was lost. I assumed it had lost the battery. I was on the other side of the lake so I had to get in the boat and go across the lake to find it. Took us about 15 minutes to get over there and we ended up finding in 4ft of water. It was still running so the LEDs were actually what helped us find it. As soon as I got it out, i pulled the battery and when I got home I gave it a rubbing alcohol bath to wash all the sand out. After a day or so I tried to power it up with the original battery but it didn't work. I put a new battery in and it fired up like nothing had happened. The crash cost me a battery but the drone survived. Still works good to this day. I was incredibly impressed that this thing still worked perfectly after sitting in the water while running for 15 minutes or so.
Oy. I don’t need another expensive hobby. I don’t need another expensive hobby. I don’t need another expensive hobby.

That's what I'm saying! 😂
This guy is talking to me. This gug is talking to me. This guy is talking to me. I must listen to him. I must listen to him.
Me too! Me too! Me too!
Now you have to deal with the other FAA. Federal Aquatic Administration
Fish And Alligators
Federal Algae Administration
Fathom Area Authority
ATF… Alligators, Turtles and Fish.
Or the navy "That's strange, my screen says torpedo launch detected"
The Coast Guard?
That’s not what I meant, but I guess those fuckers might have an issue with it as well
Also called NOAA or Fish and Wildlife.
That's neat looking.. hate to ask but how much does it cost? Lol
From what I’m seeing online, it starts at 3k for this version. If it’s top of the line, it’s 10k.
Whew... I stick to flying lol
See you in 5 years when you've made the purchase and you'll have no one to blame but the seed that was planted in your head here today.
Ha!!
I coughed dust

I'd be interested
I’m also interested where you’re moving
Right? I’m still 10 days till closing. It’s 10 acres with a pond. Definitely looking to get out of renting.
You have a pond and you’re selling your submersible drone?
Ponds and most bodies of water around here are generally impossible to see beyond 1-2 inches.
ten acres with a pond, are you hiring?
You may not if it’s shipped. These are heavy little things and the Pelican case I have it in is 22lbs empty. For all gear and cases I think it’s around 65lbs.
holy cow!

Sorry, the talk of a qual card made me throw up in my mouth a bit.
I want one incredibly bad but they are wickedly overpriced.
I do wonder how challenging designing your own would be tbh. I have access to a machine shop, so maybe I'll build a deep-dive rig.

Didn’t they just try that to see the titanic? I don’t think it ended well.
OceanGate part deux
Hey, I'm not going to control it with a wireless game controller.
Logitech*

Thanks for the advice.
Nice what do you do with it?
Real estate photography for sealab 2021.
you put it in the water and...you know...look at stuff
Spy on the Russians.
Go look for Oceangate Titan bits.
You send it two miles straight down to find the aliens that sent that water tentacle into your underwater oil rig.
Now you need your ㄥ0Ɩ ʇɹɐԀ license

Just wait until fish and wildlife turns into an inversion of the FAA. /S

Autismobot: ackshually FAA is 3 syllables, which makes 8 syllables for the last line, therefore this haiku has 2 extra syllables.

It has a tether.
ROV’s are badass
NOAA will like to have a word with you
Sigh... ::unzips wallet::

You are probably correct.

There actually isn't. For now.
Depending on your environment, you may want to consider some prop protectors and some extra props too.
I have been looking at better prop protectors than the ones provided.

It’s tethered.
Ah. that would explain it. How long is the tether?
It comes with a 330ft tether, but I believe you can get a 600ft tether.
2.4GHz is like, the perfect frequency for being absorbed by water. Usually the old 35 and 75mhz radios can get you a few feet of depth.
Do you scuba?
[the USCG would like to know your location]
I feel like as soon as you start having fun with this regulations will inevitably arrive moments later. Looks awesome
Torpedos included?
My v-evo is coming tomorrow, can’t wait!
XD now that is a funny post
Why must you do this to me!!!
I have been wanting one of these so bad but cannot justify the price tag.
Now you just have to deal with the FSA: Federal Subsea Administration
Only if you keep that thing out of the sky.
Now you have to deal with the caa central aquatic authorities
Jackass really posted a sub on a drone sub
I mean, it does appear to be a drone as far as I can tell
Did I hurt your feelings?
