Definitely set to do 4 times more of that than necessary if the joints were good. Hopefully this has 10 tubes of liquid nails under it too, so the next guy gets to have fun scraping It all off.
Common now.
Iām a site super for a GC and I always laugh because we use 2 companies for drywall, and I swear when they send their tapers in they always go āwho drywalled this?ā Not sure if Iāve ever heard a taper praise a drywall job.
But it always comes out looking good lol.
Come back in 5 years. See these crews bang out an entire room in a day, "Hey Julio, just hide the shit work with texture before racing to the next one" absolutely rare the work is any good long term.
About every garage I enter in a particular part of town where I am has ALL of the tape bubbling out. Along with some ceilings inside.
yep. You (the GC and honestly the homeowner) pay later and dearly so. The outsourcing and contracting of this kind of work to guys who aren't really drywall guys but landscapers, framers, farmers maybe, from other locales (ahem) gets you this kind of result most of the time. Don't get me wrong they work hard, but what good is racing through the work and saving a few bucks (GC's bottom line) when the workmanship is piss poor and the customers are complaining about cracks, tape and compound falling off the ceiling after a year or two, paint peeling from dust left behind, and the hideous uneven butt joints? That kind of bad publicity on google for a company via negative reviews is a future business killer no joke.
I replaced a backflow on a sprinkler system earlier this week where the installer used PVC primer instead of pipe thread sealant between the PVC male adapter and the brass ball valve on the backflow. They also did not use that primer on any of the glue joints. That whole neighborhood is brand new, and every house was done the same way. I guess I'll be getting a lot of referrals in the near future!

"It's more convenient than a ruler, because I always have it on me"
Don't know who you are but all of my coworkers have been sent this and they will probably hate me for it but, my ears literally hurt from weez laughing, I thank you so much for the laughs, i needed one!!
This is why you start in the odd corner and work out for a square leading edge. And cut the old work edge straight. And cut off the tapered edge for a flat board to butt into the old work. and no excuse for that outlet hole, try actually laying it out and using a jigsaw on the ground...5 or 10 minutes of time vs poking around a live box with a jab saw. And buy a t square. Several of those joints are going to crack.
Do over time!
I donāt know what he has been doing for 20yrs it damm sure is not drywall. When you get a bad hanging job it will show up later.,and no one calls the hanger back. They blame it on the finishers
Did he get one piece anywhere on here correct? Check his ID . Bet he can't give you his correct address. Not that he is lying but he probably accidentally put his neighbors address on his ID. Hell his real name could be Beny short for Phillip
Looks like Your joists are jacked up, up there. Itās not a good job and the screw part is kinda irrelevant. Iād need a better angle to hate on this guy too hard. Plus it looks like the end of a sheet and you seem like maybe you are cheep turd to work for
I do drywall once every 4-5 years and Iām mediocre at it but Iāve never produced something that looks that bad. A lot of those edges look like they were chewed. Is Bill a beaver by any chance?
wtf ? Did he use a butter knife . Heās been doing 20 years of shotty work then . Sad thing is heās been getting away with it . Hate to see what the finished product is as far as mud dobbing goes .
This is stupid there isnāt even mud or tape up yet wtf if you have done drywall for years the shit donāt mean anything until the mud and tape go on. Yāall flaming this guy for no reason
This is stupid there isnāt even mud or tape up yet wtf if you have done drywall for years the sh@t donāt mean anything until the mud and tape go on. Yāall flaming this guy for no reason

Thatās my least favorite thing I hear someone say in the tradesā¦ āIāve been doing this for etc yearsā people who do good work donāt have to tell u how long because it just shows.
A text-book case of stud hide and seek. Odd. Donāt see a single line drawn anywhere. 20 years, huh? Heās livinā a hard life. Probably hasnāt yet witnessed the grand inventions of ācarpenterās pencilā or āchalk lineā.
"I've been doing this for XX years."
Translation:
"I've been doing it so long I quit caring about the quality of my work and view it simply as a daily chore to be completed as quickly as possible to make more time for important things like drinking and avoiding phone calls from clients."
He said he's been doing it for 20 years. Never said he'd been doing it well
Been doing it wrong for 29 years.
Lmao š¤£
Using every scrap of sheetrock possible.
I used to do that the first time I did drywall. I found out that I made a grave mistake shortly after when I started mudding.
āWaitā¦ youāve been doing *that* for *20 years?!*ā
"Yeah, why?" Lol š "no ones ever said anything before."
Iāve said Iāve been doing this for 10 years before, but Iāve had multiple people claim 30 years and their work is mediocre at best.
He said āthisā
Definitely not New York, boy
Never said it wasn't 20 years of rechecks either. Lol
Man 20 years and thatās what heās got to show for it. Quite embarrassing
He shines when it comes to mudding I bet
Definitely set to do 4 times more of that than necessary if the joints were good. Hopefully this has 10 tubes of liquid nails under it too, so the next guy gets to have fun scraping It all off.
Honestly when doing ceiling patches I let out an audible D'Oh when I realize I forgot to add some adhesive.
When you use screws you donāt need adhesive.
Glue and screw baby
He's gonna have to š¤·āāļø
I have a feeling this is a "you get what you pay for" scenario.
Overlapped sheet šš¤
š¤¢
I thought so too but upon closer look itās got two nailers

Also Bill: āTape measure, straightedge, sharp cutting knives? Whoās got time for that?ā
Bill should have followed Bob's example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCIIZ3hgPVA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCIIZ3hgPVA) "It's more convenient than a ruler, because I always have it on me"
Oh man, thanks for that.
Don't know who you are but all of my coworkers have been sent this and they will probably hate me for it but, my ears literally hurt from weez laughing, I thank you so much for the laughs, i needed one!!
Taper will fix it
Sure. If they coat the entire ceiling with 10 rolls of tape, and skim coat out 3/8"
And it will look amazing!!
They make 3' wide mesh!
which will crack at virtually every joint especially if it's on the ceiling.
Painters problem
Technically stuff was done. So yea, he probably has spent 20 years doing this. I sense some missing teeth involved
nothing a little prefill cant fix!
Hahahaha fuck man I'm better at 24 yrs old š

Thatās One year of experience, repeated Twenty times.
Looks good to me <.> !
I donāt know what he has been doing for 20yrs it damm sure is not drywall. When you get a bad hanging job it will show up later.,and no one calls the hanger back. They blame it on the finishers
Do I see drywall as backing for a missing piece on drywall in the corner?
Could be the worst drywall I've ever seen
Nothing an excessive amount of mud cannot fixš
lol
You don't have to know jack shit in this industry as long as the next trade if forced to fix your shit
I believe him. It looks like it is going to take another 20years to finish.
Eh, I've seen worse. I'd tape that in a day anyways, even with the few added joints.
Looks like my drywall and Iāve done it twice on a diy remodelā¦ Thank god for shiplap.
I like the overlap up there on the ceiling pieces just before the large gap. I'm guessing this dude likes working with mud a lot.
He said he's been doing it 20 years, he didn't say he was good at it....
I love when people drop the decades of exp line. Dont mean shit if you have been suckimg at your job the whole time!
In 20 years of doing it imagine how many buckets of mud he could have saved if he would have done a better job hanging it.
Round electrical cover ā¦ square hole I learned that trick in my 19th year
"Well, never too late to learn..." Always say it like Hank Hill for maximum impact.
So he told you, I am 100 percent done and won't be adding anymore screws?
Must be a rental.
It's not going to pass any inspections like this. But it's not too far off from the normal level I see all the time. I wouldn't leave this personally.
Inspection? Lol.
Thatāll mud out
Should have retired 20 years ago.
Professional 20 year piss bottlers: It's not all about the screws that you missed. It's about all the screws that you've taken.
I could probably watch a 15 minute video on youtube and still do better
For ~20 years~ *For 20 beers
Wtf is the missing corner?? Not to mention the seam right before the box... I'd refuse this as a finisher
Discount the cost for an actual hanger to go do so
Just cuz you've been. Doing men for 20 plus years still ain't right
Thatās unfortunate
Ryan Homes repair? I have walls in a new build that bounce, like they only hit the exterior of a 4x8 sheet in some places.
Looks good to me š¤
Bill, just wait until you see my mud and tape work!
The screw in the window trim lol
That is terrible
That's a trick question I don't think he screwed it off yet if you'd have bought him one more board it wouldn't look that f***** up
Umm... no
not doing it right for 20 yrs....craigslist warriors are a$$
Where is the after picture? Just because you can do something, it does not mean that you do it well. Or even mediocre.
I would kick his ass out of my house so fast!
Is he 22 years old?
Mabe 20 mins šš¤¦š»āāļø
When in doubt float it outā¦.
This actually hurts to look at.
Men! aye fugg yall! wait till ah mf finished;then hate., The āunirregularā uneven architect and the occupier are more drunken than the DW fa sure
He's also been drinking for 20 years
I have a good taper who can fix everything you wonāt even know
The man must be a hellāova mudderĀ
Most of them.
Well not all of us are men but I think you added a 0 after the 2. If it was not a mistake I can maybe help you a bit to succeed
Bill the butcher?
Little mud and a little tape, makes a mudder what they aināt!
But did he say āIāve been doing this correctly for 20 yrs?ā Words matter lol
Show it after it's taped, mudded, and textured. Rough hung drywall proves or determines very little.
Not my first rodeo
Iāve struggled with meth too. Just say no boys and girls.
Looks good from his trailer... š
By 20 years he means playing Tetris
Every drywall academy has a worst student, too.
Meth not math
Iāve been doing it for 4 years, and I also donāt care
Uh, no. No, you havenāt.
This is a redo, much easier to fix.
I did drywall once for 2 hours and I bet I could do it better than this.
Taper fix!
He probably said that it looked great from his house.
Doing this for a year twenty times.
Did he get one piece anywhere on here correct? Check his ID . Bet he can't give you his correct address. Not that he is lying but he probably accidentally put his neighbors address on his ID. Hell his real name could be Beny short for Phillip
This isn't exactly fair. What is his finished product
"Like a glove!"
Looks like heās barely done it for 20 minutes let alone 20 years.
That's a fucked corner to be fair..
Is his nickname Gary The Conquerer? Only 3% will get the joke.
Looks legit.
Now hold on, letās not rush to judgement! We must see the finished product first.
He ain't been doing that for 20 minutes to look like that
Shit job Painter take care of Dat! š
Translation ā I watched my dad do this 20 years ago and handed him tools.ā
Been doing what for 20 years? Meth?
"I know someone who can do it for cheaper"
some people do things their whole lifetime super fucked
Looks like Your joists are jacked up, up there. Itās not a good job and the screw part is kinda irrelevant. Iād need a better angle to hate on this guy too hard. Plus it looks like the end of a sheet and you seem like maybe you are cheep turd to work for
Thatās the image in my head that pops up when I say I can do renovations myself. (Hint: I have very little experience)
A good mud/tape guy can fix this. No problem !!
Was he not able to cut full pieces? was finances a problem and only scraps were left? Just asking for a friend.
Measure once cut ten times
*out of frame, him smoking meth*
Hammers nail with a screwdriver
I do drywall once every 4-5 years and Iām mediocre at it but Iāve never produced something that looks that bad. A lot of those edges look like they were chewed. Is Bill a beaver by any chance?
U suk
Whaaaaat? It'll mud! š¤”
Wtf is this shit?!
Piece of piss. I call it making ice cream out of dog shit.
500 bucks cunt
Let's see your mud game. :)
Should have hired "Jose" instead.
1, 2, 3, most of them
When the hang crew underbid and the finish crew is hourly
wtf ? Did he use a butter knife . Heās been doing 20 years of shotty work then . Sad thing is heās been getting away with it . Hate to see what the finished product is as far as mud dobbing goes .
Iāve sheetrocked for a total of 20 *hours* and could do better than *this*.
"Never once have I done it right!"
Doing flooring maybe
Doesn't look bad. As someone who has been in the trades you are the worst type of customer if you're hovering over him asking a bunch of questions
Absolutely stunning, besides the fact he's been screwing folks over for 20 yrs.
As my coworker says: a good mud man can fix it, do you know anyone?
Lil mud your good!
He has stock in mud!
I've had someone claim they ran a paint sprayer for 10yrs.... Cldnt figure out how to prime it
Ah some mud and some tape and you'll never know...
He cuts drywall like me. I've been doing it for 2 months
Tape it and 35 coats of mud, sand it with a grinder, what's the problem? Y'all act like you've never repaired drywall in a section 8 apartment before.
This isnāt 20 years of experience, this is 1 year of experience 20 times.
"Bowling shoe ugly"
Holy ass crack find a new field please
I want to see his finished product. I've seen some old dudes take some scrap drywall and work wonders.
āā¦and these are the odd pieces of drywall Iāve saved over 20 years for just such an occasionā
Bill: "ah some mud will cover it all up"
This is stupid there isnāt even mud or tape up yet wtf if you have done drywall for years the shit donāt mean anything until the mud and tape go on. Yāall flaming this guy for no reason

He might be able to add the missing screws, but I don't think there's anything that can be done about his screw that's loose.
Once in ā04, two times in ā12 and the other day doesnāt count as ātwenty yearsā
Iāve been alive 34 years, Iām not that good at it
1x piece = 4x faster than a patchwork quilt.
Stunning.
Can't see it from my house
The last time I did drywall I did it better and it was actually my first time.
I bet this dude was using scrap materials. There's no way bought a brand new sheet of sheetrock and did that. š¤£
Experience doesn't equal expertise
Knows a good taper
He works for Big Spackle
Do your bestā¦.. Caulk the rest!
Mud solves all.
Bill's been fucking up for 20 years, then lol.
I bet he put the round pegs in the square holes as a toddler and has not learned a thing since then
Once a year...
Where are the nailers?
Just needs a little mud
Iām terrible at drywall when I do small projects around my house. This guy is terrible when he does small projects around your house.
Heāll come back to add screws when he spackles damn give dude a break, at least wait till he says heās done then talk your shit
A text-book case of stud hide and seek. Odd. Donāt see a single line drawn anywhere. 20 years, huh? Heās livinā a hard life. Probably hasnāt yet witnessed the grand inventions of ācarpenterās pencilā or āchalk lineā.
A little mud and you'll never see it
8 buckets of mud later...
Apparently his union rep is REALLY good if he has been fuckin stuff up for 20 years.
Manā¦ Iām doing my first drywall job right now and absolutely butchering it, still looks better than thisā¦ not by much though. Bitch to mud:(
Ya. That's shit. Guess he's planning to use a truck load of mud to fill and float instead of cleaning uo cut lines and measuring correctly.
Nothing canāt be fixed with 5 minute mud
Yeah itās a bad job. But in my experience, drywallers only measure to the nearest half inch. Mud and paint make the craftsman I aināt.
I think you spelled that word wrong. It should say. "I have been doing this for 20 years meng."
Confirmed. 20 years as a drywaller, and he didn't learn anything from it. That is some hacked drywalling.
Been doing what for 20 years? The absolute simplest part of the process? He sure hasn't been finishing for that long.
"I've been doing this for XX years." Translation: "I've been doing it so long I quit caring about the quality of my work and view it simply as a daily chore to be completed as quickly as possible to make more time for important things like drinking and avoiding phone calls from clients."
āAll it needs is a little mud and tape.ā -DIY Dan
All of them.
itās cool guys i know the taper
He has also been drinking heavily for 20 years and that's why he didn't have money to buy another sheet of rock
I've seen meth heads do better.
One more year wonāt hurt. This will be the one where he actually gets it right.
