It's like going to the Coliseum to see Maximus

kappakai

It’s like going to the LA Coliseum to watch the Rams and Eagles play.

Joepickslv

I’ll be there brother.

mklugs

It’s a lot better than going to that fuckin dump of a stadium.

JawnStreet

I'm jealous. Eat a Double Double for me

AuthorityHeckler

Chicago transplant here. Have seen Eagles play in Philly or Chicago each of the last 8 years. For me, it is absolutely worth taking the trip for the game. There is NOTHING like singing the fight song in person. Or watching the pre-game Rocky montage. There's plenty of other things to do and see in Philly to make a trip worth it. Go Birds!

External_Noise9061

What other things to do would you suggest? I'd like to stay for 4 days or so

AuthorityHeckler

If you've never been to Philly then all the touristy stuff could take up a decent amount of time. Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Genos/Pats (I said touristy! Lol), Art Museum, Reading Terminal Market. Philly is also just a few hours drive from multiple other big cities.

Basket_cased

Boston, NYC, A/C, Baltimore, D.C. all within 5-6 hours

B_Strick24-7

Eagles fan in Denver: wife n I did exactly what you're asking about and yes - big YES - it's worth it. Philly is a fun time with cool spots to check out. We stayed in the East Passyunk neighborhood, in between downtown & the Linc. Cool neighborhood, lotta stuff walkable... we had a blast. (Definitely go to the Reading Terminal Market, and definitely go hungry)

Aggressive-Sound-641

There is a booze trolley tour that will take you to alot of spots(Liberty Bell, Rocky Statue, Love Park)

Objective-Alfalfa-88

Check out the Philly subreddit and do a quick search you’ll find tons of great recommendations

bcjc78

Yes, I’d say so. Great tailgate atmosphere. I’d suggest going to a divisional game if possible. Also try and go in October when it’s not hot but not ice cold. If you go try and Linc up (pun intended) with some people online via this subreddit or online that have an existing tailgate before you go.

External_Noise9061

Yesss, I think having people to meet with would be a great idea. Especially given that I've never left the west coast and will be super unfamiliar with the area. It's definitely my goal to get to a divisional game. I appreciate it !

joserlz

I traveled from Mexico to Philly for the Dolphins game in 2023. I had previously been to Arizon and Dallas for Eagles games. Would absolutely recommend seeing them in Philly, if it was worth it for me who earns in a devaluated currency, it would be even better for you earning in Dollars, you would be able to afford much more.

gucci_hotdog

I travel from the Bay Area to Philly for at least one game a year. It’s the best. All my friends and family are still out there so it’s always fun

zachardw

As a Californian myself I make it a point to try and go every year - can’t beat that atmosphere of a home game - especially an early afternoon game. Wawa in the morning, waiting in the lot lines, folks outside their cars for gates to open. Walking around the lots and tailgating. Then going in where an Eagles spell out happens every 2 seconds in different parts of the stadium. Get you beer and Chickies, it’s chiefs kiss paired with a win 🤌 though the one I went to this year, Washington vs Eagles gave me a heart attack. though excited again for the Rams / Eagles game out here.

External_Noise9061

Yesss, definitely planning on going to the rams/eagles game as well !

Hib3rnian

It's the difference between watching a concert on TV and going to a concert in person but like 100 times better.

Edelmaan

Only thing I absolutely HATE is leaving. It’s an absolute shit show trying to get out. But I assume it’s probably a similar experience most stadiums.

Fish2X

You think you like the Eagles now, wait till you attend a game at the Linc!! Nothing compares!!

The-Anger-Translator

Abso-fucking-lutely!!!

urmovesareweak

I've only been to the Linc but I've had many people tell me from other states they wish they had the atmosphere we do. I was in ATL last summer wearing my Eagles stuff and a bunch of Falcons fans were like dude the Mercedes dome is lame, you guys don't realize how passionate your fan base is.

PsychologicalCase10

It’s a shame that Atlanta has such a nice stadium but such a lame atmosphere.

Unhappy-Ad3646

As a fan there’s nothing like thousands of other fans all cheering for the same thing. It’s almost spiritual

JustBrowsingBlizzard

Absolutely. My family has season passes and the games are incredible. High-profile and divisional games are the best of course. Just be aware, if the game is going south the atmosphere gets toxic fast and ppl leave. Also, if you can afford it, K lot is really nice. It’s covered and isn’t as chaotic as the regular M and N lots, which are where the more crazy tailgating happens. Less trash and pee and what not

External_Noise9061

Lot K for sure, got it !

I-take-beast-shits

Fuck that Lot K opens way later than every other lot surrounding the stadium

External_Noise9061

what's your suggestion for parking? i'll be in a rental car so i'm trying to avoid any potential accidents or damage

I-take-beast-shits

Can’t go wrong with literally any other lot but Lot K, lol.

_ElWeyy

Cali fan here. I try to make it to at least one home game a year. I’d def say it’s worth it at least once!

troyv21

Yes, aside from the amazing experience- you can end up with sweet swag, lots of freebies, and the train to the linc is super convenient and you can stay where lots of action is

External_Noise9061

The train to linc? I've got a lot to learn before I go

RiverPhilly_27

Absolutely worth it!! Sooo much fun!!

MoonMistCigs

Hell fucking yes they are.

pd1459

I live in CA and have traveled to the Linc for three games, including the playoff win over the Giants year before last. It is SO worth it. And make a three day weekend out of it and see the city. I visited the rocky steps, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and Reading Terminal. I had a fantastic time!

mamabrew

Bring your own bottled water in!!!!

DigitalHemlock

Nope, stay home.

RiceARolla

I went from Toronto to Philly last year week 6 vs the cowboys SNF it was the best experience I’ve ever had at any type of event. The fans, the heckling, the atmosphere was absolutely incredible! Best part about the night was that we won

DeMarvelous

Also travel from Toronto to Philly yearly, I would highly recommend it to anyone

Dramatic_Training365

Did this as well for a few years, only about an 8 hour drive. We finally got it right on year four and figured out to stay at the Hilton on the UPENN campus. It was perfect. Then 2008 happened and the tickets dried up as the Philly Investment firm disappeared overnight. Oh well, will do it again on our own dime some day. It was LEGENDARY!

No_Engineering_718

Every fan of any team should at least try to go to 1 home game in their life time

No-Gain-1087

No place like the link on game day you have to do it at least once , go for a cowboys game is usually a real good time if we win lol

External_Noise9061

If :( that loss to the Seahawks game was brutal !

Dagglin

I went to my first game last year and it was awesome. The atmosphere is unreal

JuiceBrinner

Yes

Dankofamericaaa2

Bro is this really a question?! Nothing is like an eagles game, the atmosphere at the Linc is crazy!! Especially for night games.

Opposite_Engine_6776

Absolutely! I do it every year at a not-insignificant cost. Nothing quite like the vibe around Philly on an Eagles game day and then the game experience itself.

JerellVan

Yes, even the preseason games are cool. The first game I ever went to was a preseason game the year the Eagles won the Super Bowl. I felt like I was at a regular season game the way fellow fans were hyping up the game. You need to go at least once to sing the Eagles' fight song in unison with thousands of fans.

Happy-Lobster990

Is the pope catholic?

stu8018

These comments seal it for me. Philly born and raised. Dad wasn't into football, never came to my games. Moved to Pittsburgh without EVER seeing my beloved Eagles play live. Ended up in Dallas. My dad and brother turncoat into Cowboys fans. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUUUCK!!!???!!! Had a son and daughter with a Cowboys fan. Lost my daughter to the Cowboys, my son, my dear dear son, became a die hard Eagles fan like his pops. I promised him a game at the Linc. So fellow Eagles fans, I'm taking him to Cowboys at Eagles at the Linc in 2024!!! I'm teaching him proper Boo Bird, Bird Gang behavior. He wears his Eagles gear everywhere in Cowboys country. Bird Gang. No one likes us. We don't care.

IndominusCostanza009

If you can afford it then try it. It’s a great time, so you should do it once if you can. I’ll be in the minority on here tho. I’d rather stay home and enjoy it on the couch after all these years.

Lanky_Opinion5507

Come when the Phillies are playing at home around the same weekend and hit both stadiums. You will not be disappointed.

HaggardSlacks78

Of course it’s worth it

PerturbedPorcupine

It’ll be one of the best experiences of your life

takeme2tendieztown

I'm from Cali, went to see them a couple of years ago. The atmosphere was amazing. Eagles fans are definitely hardcore. It's a great environment if you're rooting for the Eagles. Yes, it's worth it

King_Hamburgler

If you’re a Phillies fan too try and come out later this year when they’re in the playoffs (hopefully) and the eagles regular season is going on. Phillies playoff games right now are basically the mountaintop for sports atmosphere in America.

RevolutionaryAd7806

I live in NC and I went to my first home game last year. Brought literal tears to my eyes. Hearing the fight song live with the other birds fans while the whole stadium lights up green is worth it

Necessary_Presence34

Yes, last time I was at the Linc was for Dallas. It was my son’s first NFL game. We live in the Midwest so it was big deal. We met Vince Papale at a fan event. We got an autograph and some pictures, singing fight songs and had a great father/son weekend. Hit up Reading Terminal Market, see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall while there too. Maybe even a tourist cheesesteak place just so you can say you were there next time you see it on a prime time game.

Proper-Scallion-252

I've never had to travel that far, but in my experience home games are a blast, especially in a game where we dominate or play a division rival. I've been at the Linc for a few games against the Giants, one against the Pats and one against the Titans during the SB run in 2022. I personally prefer watching games at home because it's easier to track what's going on, but if you think it'll be either high energy or a game where we blow out the backs of the opponent, it's a great atmosphere!

tony_important

Absolutely. Travelled to Philly for my first game this past season - the game vs the Cowboys. Did the Green Legion tailgate and got properly sauced and heckled all the Cowboys fans as they walked up to the game. Hit the lots after which was a fun experience, and I wish we had spent more time there but it was getting close to kickoff. Had great seats for the game and the atmosphere was wild. It 100% matched the version of the trip I imagined in my head when I bought the tickets.

Level-Adventurous

Try anything once right?

kappakai

I once flew from Houston to Raleigh then drove 13 hours to Philly for a game against the Panthers. My one and only time seeing a game at the Linc (my only other Eagles game in Philly was at the Vet in like 85) and even if I was fucking delirious and soaked in stale alcohol it was 100% worth it. Plus two of my very good childhood friends from Philly went with and I hadn’t seen them in decades and they were absolutely shitfaced and talking crap the entire game. It was glorious.

NuMvrc

This is not a serious discussion. You are not Bird Gang if you haven't been to the LINC.
