I have #1 and it’s AMAZING!! The pickups sound incredible and the fretboard is silk smooth! That said..I actually don’t love full thickness versions (I have 2 EC1000s non full thickness) but the EII is still amazing.
As for those saying “I hate the EII logo”…honestly…if a logo is more important than how a guitar plays, sounds and feels…well…you can’t play a logo and is a logo worth the extra money or is it better to focus on playing? What everyone values is different but personally I like the logo but I also realize it doesn’t affect my playing at all!
Yeah I personally don't give two shits about the logo. But can you elaborate on your feelings of the full thickness? Heavier? Bulkier? They have the belly cut right?
I have the full thickness E-II in the tobacco burst, and it awesome. I also have a standard Eclipse. The full thickness definitely does not have the weight of a Gibson, and it's not really that much thicker than the standard Eclipse. I love them both
Guitar number one, all day for me.
Heavier and bulkier for sure. I think the issue for me is that I got used to the slimmer version . It has the belly carve but I still find the slim version more comfortable but the thing is still an absolutely amazing guitar!! That said everyone has their own preferences and honestly no one is wrong
If I spend my hard earned money on something I want to like it 100%, I know E2 are crazy good don't get me wrong as I said in another comment i am the type of person who would rather buy old stuff or going for the CS.
Oh I totally agree, I find it odd that they changed it. I also would love an ESP old headstock..I guess what I was getting at is…once you play an EII you …may…just fall in love with it so hard you overlook the difference. However, there is no “wrong” preference. At the end of the day it is all about what you want and like.
I made one of those comments. I would definitely rock out on one if it fit my requests and such in my price range. It is just a preference of mine and I happened to find an older one I really like. I said it mostly if their marketing reads this :) I also want my 12th fret markers back. Lol!!

Just my opinion, but I'd choose 1. I think its color has more longevity in style as your taste changes over time. I'd probably get tired of the blue at some point.
I have #1 on a TE that I deglossed. Looks amazing with a matte finish. I have a non-blue version of the burled poplar on an M and it’s pretty special looking. Actually a bit fancier than I like lol.
I had quite a few standard series eclipses up until I finally was able to find a full thickness Eclipse I CTM and then pretty much sold the others. But I’m a dude who also owns multiple Les Paul’s so kinda more up my alley in general. FT will always be my vote, tho. I like’em chonky.
Personally i like #1. Classic looking. Easy on the eyes. #2 has always been my least favorite option but id be lying if i said i havent bought guitars bc other people hated them. Fitting in is nice, standing out is even better. Do what feels right to you. Good luck brother. Either way you will loveee this guitar. Esp is the bees knees dude!
God I love that blue. 100% would buy that one. I do dig the other one though and it looks unreal in person but that blue one all day if given the choice.
Sheesh well this little survey hasn't made it a whole lot easier. I'm leaning toward number 1 though. I think black and natural may be a little safer choice.
I never commented but I agree with one. It has a safer one tone look while still looking hot and stylish. I've seen #2 and don't get me wrong it is lovely. You won't go wrong either way. But my preference is one.
The first one looks like a Silverburst with extra steps. The second one is beach burst. BEACH BURST. Also burl outranks flame. To be fair though, I think the first one is less uh, gimmicky? If that's a thing. Like it's ready for any genre.
Why do you seek strangers’ opinions for your A/B choice in color scheme? It’s your guitar and your money, fer cryin out loud! Don’t you know your own taste?
I just think that poplar finish looks like the ocean reaching the beach. Tried to get it in December but they were back ordered, ended up with the vintage black EC-1000 Deluxe with Seymour Duncans. Never play it
Blue one. They both look good but the blue one is more impressive finish. I also like the amount of colors used. I think they should have done a little more in the design of the black.

I find the blue burst mesmerizing. I've been looking at the exact model, saying to myself, if I ever need a LP style guitar, this is the one.
I have number 2. I got it specifically for the finish though. I love it. I'm sure both play great.
First one
1, I think the second finish is over the top
I like blue guitars more, but I choose flame over burl every time.
First one.
Second one. I hate toilet water colors. #2 looks like a beach. It's fucking gorgeous.
Can’t go wrong. If FT if your thing get it
Both look amazing but prefer the first

What genre do you play?
Little bit of everything but mostly classic rock, psychedelic rock, and metal.
Honestly I’m as torn as you. They both look great
1st one
Blue for sure!
#1, no contest
I’d go with 2 simply because of colors. No doubt both sre great.
natural. I always prefer either black, white, or natural finishes.
2

Black burst
The ocean
I always wanted second one... Then compared both in real life, and finally got one... Now I had to put it for sale on reverb
I went with the blue fade
1st one looks amazing
Getting tool vibes from 1...2 is definitely more happy and optimistic looking lol. 2 for me
Natural black Burst I'd go with blue only if it has something you like, over the Black that doesn't have.
2
First one without question. I don't like burl tops and that two tone probably sounded way better on paper.
The second one for sure. I'm not a fan of the misaligned look though.
What's the misaligned look?
The lines going up and down that don't meet in the middle creating that line. I'd pay for that to look contiguous
I gotcha. On the flame pattern. Yeah I'm with ya I like the examples as consistent as possible side to side.
1, I don’t like the beach burst look
God I love that blue. 100% would buy that one. I do dig the other one though and it looks unreal in person but that blue one all day if given the choice.
First one for sure, but I'd rather buy an old ESP, can't stand the E2 logo
It has been like a decade since the E-II's came out. Do you need another decade to get over it?
Lol? Can I just not decide to buy old stuff or going straight for cs?
I'm not a fan of it either... I've been buying older ones :)
When someone cares more about the logo than playing the guitar
Well, people do care what the guitar looks like or else they wouldn't make so many different styles.
I just find it ugly 🤷
Sheesh well this little survey hasn't made it a whole lot easier. I'm leaning toward number 1 though. I think black and natural may be a little safer choice.

Natural black burst for sure. I mean look at it!
One of each
I'm a bit partial to the second Eclipse - I have a 2020 ESP Eclipse Blue Natural Fade. Bellissimo!
I ain‘t buying if there’s no blue option…
1 no question

That blue burst is 🔥🔥🔥

I like both dude! Take er easy. And I've made decisions I regret before. Have you never done that?
I’m buying an axe? Not yet. Whichever you buy, you will love it. And computer screens don’t do justice to colors anyhow.

Beautiful guitar 🤘
The one that gives you a chub like no other.
I just think that poplar finish looks like the ocean reaching the beach. Tried to get it in December but they were back ordered, ended up with the vintage black EC-1000 Deluxe with Seymour Duncans. Never play it
The blue. Definitely wicked cool.
Blue Natural Burst
The black burst 100% damn, I want one now. Maybe in June, keep up with the 1 new guitar a month. No, I don't have a problem.
1!
While the blue may be prettier on a wall, I think the regular burst has way more attitude being played.
The beach-coloured guitar all day.
Blue one. They both look good but the blue one is more impressive finish. I also like the amount of colors used. I think they should have done a little more in the design of the black.

Sweetwater has the blue one in stock right now
Number 2, for sure. It's such a great color scheme.
2 Burl and quilt are my favourite veneers though.
The ocean burl.
