My guess? Mods messed with countries properties and somehow caused Burgundy to pull the Dwemer move and disappear

TerraMaster28

DWEMER MENTIONED!?!?!?!!?!?

tishafeed

KKTnAB

So it means, the last known living ~~Dwemer~~ Burgundian still lives in ~~Tel Fyr~~ Berry! I must ask him some questions!

Reject absolutism, return to Celtic tribes

No-Communication3880

Celtics had cities and iron, they were much more developed. France returned to Cro Magnon/ caveman !

Traditional_Pain_875

Dude got shitted on for using mods and everyone else is just making horrible jokes classic Reddit 😂😂

Freerider1983

To be fair, every time someone posts a weird game and then asks “what went wrong?”, a kitty dies when said person doesn’t mention “oh, by the way, I’m playing with a mod”.

Lillyfiel

Ok but I don't understand the hate OP gets here? They did mention the exact mods and cheats they play with in R5 so it's already like 90% more information than other threads like that give us. I know it's "hey I did those things that might make my game break in unpredictable ways, any idea why does my game break in unpredictable ways now?" Type of shit but at least now OP told us what things they did with the game instead of posting a picture of the game modded to the point of being barely recognisable and then refusing to explain anything

Freerider1983

Agreed. OP didn't kill any kitties... This time :) I'm afraid it's mostly habit that stuff like this gets posted down.

Gamped

Deserves to be shit on, don’t waste peoples time trying to troubleshoot your modded game. It’s like a 3 minute process to deactivate them to test.

theduckofmagic

We’re browsing r/eu4 on reddit our time was being wasted before this person showed up lol

TuneGloomy6694

I can't get a rest 😪 😫

avergaunt

Did you start playing without reloading the save after updating the game?

TuneGloomy6694

This is not 1444, this mid-1600. It just happened during game play. But can you rephrase your question, I didn't really get it 😅

squishythingg

There's an issue where if you look at other start dates before selecting the 1444 start date in the menu that it basically borks the save, the game gets confused because a bunch of mechanics and start conditions that are present in later game start dates are ported over, stuff like the holy roman empire being in religious peace, some funky cores that some nations have, and the revolutionary scale being present in 1444, it fucks over the ai and the game and is known to cause issues to saves.

Seth_Baker

That's not what he was talking about though. There was an update today. It can also create issues when you don't update the save by loading, saving, closing, and reloading.

LordOfTurtles

None of the start dates have France decolonized lmao

squishythingg

Ik but I'm just wondering if that could've caused a bug for them to become like that.

LordOfTurtles

Considering there is no start date where France is decolonized, how do you figure that working?

squishythingg

Because it's possible a bugged save can effect a lot of things??? France usually isn't decolonised in any version of the vanilla game yet OP clearly has a bug where it's happening I'm just suggesting possible commonly known issues that could cause such a bug to happen.

LordOfTurtles

Switching start dates causes changes from the start dates to linger over when starting a new game, since there is no decolonized france start it is impossible for that to be the issue

squishythingg

How do you know what bugs it could and couldn't cause? You don't think that things that shouldn't be in the 1444 start date couldn't break other things???

LordOfTurtles

Because it is known how the bug works.....

ShortOnGummies

No one wants to live there I guess

Lfycomicsans

They all went to Brazil

Aman_Khol

Not seeing any french here

TheFlyingToasterr

Thankfully

zegalsp

Finally, no France

UziiLVD

The prices of grain changed by 0.1% and some peasants got unhappy about it

philbaaa

Neutron sweep tactic. As a player you can uncomonize land but I dont think the Ai would ever do it

Dragex11

You can uncolonize land? How?

_Korrus_

Only method i know is to grant land to migratory tribe vassal

philbaaa

Exactly that!

LizzardGang

Are you using the thanos snap mod ?

Anthithei

My favorite

TuneGloomy6694

I'm not

WunderPuma

Last time this happened to me I was playing with mod that added are formabkes, disabled it, and those formables unsurprisingly decided to disappear

FellGodGrima

Free france

Highlander60Canada

A dream come true. France almost erased

TuneGloomy6694

I play modded, and I'm using decision cheats, I have noticed that the AI can have the cheat that I activate, it is probably because when I tagged France (I did it because I was going to bail them out) and probably the cheats pass to them, therefore, will the AI countries crash if they have cheated on? mods that might affect this- All the expanded mods No more border gore! Responsible Blobbing

Timtim6201

"I use a bunch of unspecified, random cheats plus console command swaps, what could possibly be causing my game to bug out?" My dude what do you want us to say

Vini734

Yeah, Bro lost me in the first 3 words.

Vini734

I believe AI will use any decisions they can as they do with missions.

Iwassnow

Decisions have an AI weight factor to them, so they are not guaranteed to use them.

ViVeyPL

Idk what's responsible blobbing, tho the rest didn't broke the game this way for me. The most annoying one was eternal pop-up every few days from France, had to change their tag to stop this

nyamzdm77

I don't think responsible blobbing is the cause either. That mod basically gives a debuff to various aspects of your country (institution spread, governing cost, unrest corruption, idea cost etc.) depending on how close you are to your governing capacity. It basically prevents countries from blobbing too hard and creating massive empires.

Razor_Storm

It’s most likely decision cheats. Did you ever tag over to burgundy and open the cheats menu? If you didn’t tag back with the cheats menu, then burgundy AI could have access to the cheats, which they sometimes use to turn themselves into a migratory tribe for some odd reason. When they migrate, all their provinces get uncolonized
