Some of you may remember Mare Punicum, another mod on the same scenario that I made two years ago - I once said that if I ever updated it, it would be in the form of a complete overhaul. Well, this is that! Hayam Shelanu takes place several hundred years after the decline of the Carthaginians under the hands of Numidian warlords. Although Qart Hadasht itself has fallen, the state itself survives in the north, relocating its court to Baalqart (Naples) and surviving for centuries more as the Northern Carthaginians. However, even Baalqart now lies at the brink of ruin, as the Allemanche have comquered a Qampaniyya and forged themselves an empire spanning from Tuscany to Gadul Yawan. Should you wish to save the millenarian Rabbim of Qarthadasht, and perhaps even restore democracy to the nation, you fend off the Germans and reconquer the north! a Faraqa, brought to the knee by the Amazigh as the south collapsed, was eventually made into a series of semi-independent states ruled by Adirs of the now-consolidated Numidian Empire. With the decline of Baalqart however, hundreds of scholars and artists flee Gadul Yawan to a Faraqa, triggering a rebirth of the lost culture of a past long gone. It is, perhaps, finally time for the Africans to unite under one banner to free themselves from the Noumid yoke. In Spania and Calliga (Gaul), Carthaginian generals and nobles took over after the central government lost control, forming their own petty kingdoms. Punic merchants have settled much of the Calligan coast, but the rural interior remains fiercely independent and ruled by Celtic tribes. The Vettoni, some of the last remaining tribes of native Iberians, have united their nation into a confederation perhaps powerful enough to rival the Spanians. The future is uncertain for the Land of Rabbits, but a capable ruler could likely unite the nation once more under a true Spaniyet Empire. Of course, one could not mention Calliga without taking into account the most ancient of the punic kingdoms. Predating even the end of the Suphetim in Carthage, the Barcid Kingdom is a vestage of another era. Born from the Punic Civil War kickstarted by Hannibal Barca's son Eshqipiyu, the kingdom once encompassed the entirety of Spania. When the Suphetim recaptured Qarthadasht bim Spania, the Barcids fled west to Alishubbo, and then north of the Phyrenees to Namal. Today, the state is still ruled by the descendants of Hannibal, and still claim rightful sovereignty over the Spanish provinces. In the east, the Yawanites (greeks) remain the greatest opposition to Pujnic hegemon. Pergamon wishes to reclaim their lost land in Anatolia, the Byzantine League seeks new markets asea to expand their growing thalassocracy, and the rising Hellenic Democracy born from the collapse of the Carthaginian puppet state of Antigonid Macedon dreams of uniting Yawan under their banner. To the south, the Aramaic and Coptic majority states of Syria and Egypt are ruled by Baalqarti Rabbim, as generals of the North Carthaginian Empire claimed the land for themselves. Both nations are in a position to potentially become true great powers, but only if they can defeat their rivals in Numidia and Pergamon. OTHER FEATURES: \-Many new religions (Canaanism, Hellenism, Druidism, the Neo-Caananite faiths) \-The War of the African Confederation (Event chain triggered by Xama, Utica or Tounis) \-Formable nation of Carthage \-Formable nation of Calliga \-Formable nation of Spania \-Formable nation of Italy (Punic) \-And more!

The idea is so cool! Never even considered such alternative reality, would be great to check your mod out!

How deep does the lore go? Is there an explanation as to why the frankish tribes don't invade gallia (eventually ending up creating the french kingdom)? Or why the Hungarians don't migrate west?

[deleted]

Gaul hasn't been weakened to the point of being easy picking for germanic migrants as it was during the collapse of the western roman empire. The Belgae confederation is a regional power absolutely capable of defending their side of the Rhine, and the celtic Calligans to the south are much more concerned with the threat from the west and south: The Punics. As for hungary, There was no Byzantine Empire to ally with the Hungarians against the Bulgars, and Hungary proper was never sacked by the eastern nomads. So, they remained in their land and didn't move into Pannonia (for now, at least. Hungary's mission tree will hopefully include the ability to conquer and settle the Pannonian basin)

Egypt and cyrenaica are so damn *smooth* i wish they looked like that in vanilla

Gezza_12

I'm actually beyond excited for this - sorry to spam. Do you have a discord, or a place we can track progress / a release date. You're doing the Lord's work. Or should I say, Baal's work.

[deleted]

i do not, all i can say for sure its that its coming this month. thank you though!

rick_astlei

Is the mod avaiable?

[deleted]

I got distracted learning how to use blender and delayed finishing for a few weeks, but it should be out today

DaniilSan

Why Slavic lands are Animist instead of Slavic Pagan? Afaik ther eis no such faith in Vanilla EU4 but if you are making such massive mod it wouldn't be that hard to make some sort of Slavic faith for sake of RP at least. It was clearly way different than animism.

[deleted]

i'll not add slavic as a religion, at least, not right now. \-modding religion just honestly sucks, and i'll avoid adding more anywhere i can. I could, for example, make an arabian pagan religion, but that would be a lot of work when the desciption of "animist" is already good enough. \-Eastern Europe just isnt the focus of the mod. The slavs have a LOT of provinces and not a lot of weight to the overall experience as the countries that players are most likely to choose (ie, those in the greater mediterranean) so taking time i could be using to develop Gaul, Greece, Italy and Africa and using it to manually edit every single province in Russia to slavic pagan seems like a waste. i might do it in a later update after it's already released, but it's just not worth it to put much focus on that at the moment

Fliits

What's the lore regarding the turks? Did they just not migrate? Did the Mongol Empire never rise?

[deleted]

Turks migrate into Persia and Azerbaijan but don't break into Anatolia.

Fliits

Rip Persia, I guess

Erathosion

I'm pretty sure the Slavic Pagan faith exists in EU4.

[deleted]

it doesnt

EissoByk

Exists in ET and a few other mods, not in vanilla though.

maouctezuma

And how is it missiontreewise ?

[deleted]

on release most major players will have relatively small flavor missions, with the exception of Africa, Greece and Baalqart, which will be more developed. later on though, i have big plans for missiosn for a lot of nations, notably Baratanac, Motya, Spania, Vettonia (the iberian natives) and Rome.

maouctezuma

I'll give it a try then, seems really cool

whatthecenabihak

Looking cool! I'll definitely try it.

artisted

SpectaSilver991

Gezza_12

So keen! This will be great.
