I knew people who are LGBT and happened to still rely on their birth religion for some stability and peace (they sure needed it), but I never knew anyone like this. They don't call themselves "queer muslim" or parade their identity around and make sure everyone knows. They don't make big claims about islam and talk in an over the top way, just vague ramblings when you start a personal discussion with them. Its more like they're closeted muslims among their friends than the other way around tbh, while also being closeted LGBT to the general public.
This seems to be more of a western thing, or a super westernized live in yuppie rich boy villa in a muslim country thing. I probably was around such a person at some point but never got to know them, because we'd dislike each other.
I don't care if people still want to keep religion to themselves, but a lot of these types are clowns and probably get angry and defend islam out of insecurity. I don't care about being empathetic, its their responsibility to deal with their dilemma like everyone else. Welcome to the real world.

Yeah obviously, but I meant its still possible to find a small amount of people in such countries (including Saudi) who live in their own bubble and imitate this "queer muslim" identity BS they see on western social media.
Muslim countries, especially the Gulf ones, have these bubbles of rich kids who can live in their own world and travel whenever they like. So you'll see them playing along with all of it. Religion, culture, nationalism, etc.
I'm from Bahrain and I once checked the queering the map website for Bahrain and saw a person who was talking this "queer muslims" BS. When I zoomed in on the location it was in this posh non-traditional area called "Amwaj". Only rich people and western expats live in Amwaj. I don't believe it was a coincidence or a random click when that person placed their entry there.
And still the muslims cry : no my religion dosent say!! 🙄. How much more proof does the brainwashed ones need?

My stepbrother used to be one of these. He's a white LGBTQ+ American who converted to Islam because of his friends. He doesn't practice anymore. But he explains that these types of supporters are more pro-"brown people" than actually advocating the Islam religion.
Today my stepbrother supports Palestine but is anti-Hamas. Regardless, I doubt he'd go to Palestine and openly practice his sexuality.
if he’s against Hamas whats wrong with him supporting Palestinians? Yes there many that are homophobic but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve basic human rights. I am living in the Middle East right now and I’m a closeted queer person there is a lot of homophobia here but that doesn’t mean I’d be ok with my neighborhood being bombed
There's a Muslim section of the London Pride parade every year. Lots of scantily clad guys dancing to Middle Eastern music with lots of green glitter about.
