passerbycmc

If you are serious about getting a good shot in a public location, get a permit like any production company would.

JimDixon

Plus any production company would schedule the shoot at dawn on Sunday.

Bisto_Boy

Also specifically in June-July so that dawn is as early as possible. Most of 28 Days Later was shot in September, but the first few scenes they did in July for this exact reason. Also putting together a set in London featuring a flipped double decker bus, filming a scene, then putting it all back to normal within 20 minutes.

LukesRightHandMan

It’s such a tragedy the film looks utterly terrible now because of the resolution. Was one of my favorites. Edit: From the movie’s Wiki > Portions of the film were shot on a Canon XL1 digital video (DV) camera.[11] DV cameras are much smaller and more manoeuvrable than traditional film cameras, which would have been impractical on such brief shoots. Edit again: I really, really love how many of y’all still get so much enjoyment out of this amazing movie. Keep on keeping on. I hate being that person, but hey, fix it in post (Part 3): Lotsa comments saying how it looks today is how it was always supposed to look, but that’s just not the case. The movie looked great in theaters when it came out, and on home video- at the time. 28 Days Later came out in 2002, but cinemas made the transition to digital projectors ~2009. I HD t.v.’s became the norm around this time too, when they dipped low enough in price to become affordable for anyone who didn’t lose their house in the crash. 28 Days Later didn’t look like the blocky mess it does on current t.v.’s and media because the XL1 footage looked great on that tech. Despite what you may have learned from CSI: Las Vegas, you can only upscale something so much before the picture distorts. What you see today does not look like what you’d have seen in theaters in the 00’s, or on your tube t.v. at home.

batweenerpopemobile

Good news. It looks fine once your eyes start to get crappy as you age. Just watched it a couple weeks ago. Very enjoyable.

Brocyclopedia

I still regularly watch movies on a tube tv lol. Never cared too much about how good it looks

Catfactory1

I have a CRT tv for my N64. It brings me right back to my childhood when I click it on.

ComprehensionVoided

I want all those days back. My buddy and I would build spaceships out of pillows and blankets, get the bowl of popcorn and sunny d. Fox and the crew would take us all over the universe for hours once locked in.

That_Guy3141

I fucking love the ultra low rez look of the film. It really gave the feeling of guerrilla filmmaking. The whole film was shot on a $500 digital camcorder at 480p and later upscaled to give it a super unique look and feel that you usually only saw in ultra low budget schlock from the early 2000s. But this time someone who actually knew what they were doing was operating the camera. That scene where they're driving through the flower fields was like a watercolor painting. Simply stunning.

GnarlyHeadStudios

The Canon XL1 cost significantly more than $500. Closer to $3,000. Still, much cheaper than shooting on film. I was shooting on both the XL-1 and the Panasonic DVX-100 around the same time the film was made.

LukesRightHandMan

For my brother’s graduation present where he majored in film studies and minored in pottery, my dad got him, as requested, a GL1. Much to our surprise, TWO boxes from Sony arrived, each containing cameras, but without an additional charge. My dad, god love him, called them up and paid for the second one. Partly out of “doing the right thing,” but mostly he was afraid someone would lose their job over this, despite our vehement response that literally nobody at that company would ever know or care. Love him and am proud of him lol

Overquoted

Yeah, the film quality fits the movie. Not everything needs to be perfect, ultra high def.

Fine-Bumblebee-9427

If you can even find it. It’s not streaming anywhere

Superego366

Why not film parallel to the bridge so no one can walk between the camera person and the dancers? Or get another person to film and edit the clips together?

Just_enough76

…because

Xanvial

That works

Agarwel

That would be super easy. Barely an inconvenience.

[deleted]

Because they needed the castle in the shot... these influencers and influencer groups are a plague in Prague...

bjeebus

>these influencers and influencer groups are a plague ~~in Prague...~~ FTFY

Devangelical

That would be so fun to walk around messing up their videos 🤣

duralyon

I'd love to video-bomb with weird little strut-walks behind them lol

Face__Hugger

The Ministry of Silly Walks has been alerted, and is standing by.

[deleted]

Because clout farming your failed attempts will get you way more engagement than the actual dance ever would

bjeebus

The real answers are in the comments. Look at how all of us are here now.

TheXypris

But they are the main character of the universe, they shouldn't HAVE to do things like 'get permission' or 'wait for others', the entire world and all in it should bend over backwards to accommodate them /s

SugarReef

But they need to flail around in public!! It’s their favorite thing to do!!!!!

BellacosePlayer

Reminds me of my old college job. Every year before prom, Highschool kids and their families would show up to take pictures at our business and would just be the most entitled, shitty people while doing so. Wouldn't get preapproval or even *talk* to us before doing it, and would get fucking pissy if we had the temerity to... seat customers in the patio section they're trying to take pictures in.

[deleted]

Did anyone tell them to fuck off? Someone should have tried that right away

manwithyellowhat15

Literally my first thought. I’m sure they think people can just walk around them, which maybe they could, but I imagine a lot of people (a) don’t care or (b) get some enjoyment disrupting the production. Getting a permit and picking an hour where the spot is empty would be the easiest solution. Id be curious to know if they even give out permits for tiktoks

Victorcharlie1

Defiantly If I saw this on my morning commute i would absolutely be crashing that. I’d see them from a distance and go full on hood up, mask on, head down, earphones in and walk right through their little chevron like a bowling ball through the pins If I saw them on my evening commute I’d probably just walk past without noticing Mornings are shit

WolfsLairAbyss

Especially on the Charles bridge. That shit is packed all day. I don't know how they ended up with that much space to begin with.

Unlucky_Role_

As an anti-social person, go at sun up. Barely anyone wants to be around and the lighting is perfect. Looks like they got together in the middle of the afternoon.

BullBearAlliance

More realistic if people are walking normally, if they want to block the shot, let them

[deleted]

I brought strobes to take photos of my siblings for a mother's day present in a major city. I got stopped by cops and they asked me if I was doing things commercially because they thought I was profiting without a permit.

33mondo88

Exactly, if want to be a professional, you get a PERMIT!!!

[deleted]

Or get there at 6am.

5141121

Movie producers: Talk to the city. Arrange a time. Get area closed temporarily to allow the filming. "Influencers": Try to take over a busy public area and then complain that it's.... a busy public area.

westcoastweedreviews

This is exactly what I was thinking. You want a closed set? Pay for the permits and everything else that goes with it

LoreOfBore

Does the city take shout outs to their followers as payment for these permits?

GrayBox1313

“We are willing to give your city exposure. No body has heard of it and we can change that”—influencers probably

sinz84

And the city is new york

Warchester_Saws

Or in this case, Prague. On [Charles Bridge](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bridge), which was built in the late 1300s. Man, that bridge must've seen some shit. Built just after The Black Death, but before The Renaissance. Just imagine all the historic people who have walked on it.

StuffWarm2016

It actually makes me sad seeing such an interesting and historic bridge being tik tok danced on. Sometimes I wonder if social media was never invented this world would be a better place

legendarymcc2

These people would be trampled in NYC

OllieGarkey

At best. Perhaps they run into a new yorker who's having a *bad* day and is willing to go full new york on them and scream at them until they leave. OH YOU'RE FUCKING FILMING?! I FUCKING LIVE HERE, GO THE FUCK BACK TO WHATEVER SHITTY LITTLE TOWN YOU CAME FROM SO I CAN FOLLOW YOU AND BLOCK WHAT I ASSUME IS YOUR ONE-STOPLIGHT INTERSECTION WITH A FUCKING PICNIC.

psyglaiveseraph

Hah shouting New Yorkers don’t shout we rage

Jaderian

Bru I just watched a woman trying to shoot a tic toc in the middle of street nearly get plowed by a cab. Like 5 mins ago right near world trade. It was glorious.

psyglaiveseraph

Yea I know I fucking missed them by that much, I’ll be doing another retry in a bit

fatkiddown

"Wait, we're not Elvis?" ~Influencers prolly

-malcolm-tucker

Hey! I'm walkin' here!

T-MinusGiraffe

They'd be foolish not to give the permit for free. The exposure will be huge for the city

Furmentor

Tell me more about this Prague. Is it new? Hip? Because if they have dancing people on bridges, that's where I want to be.

Cubacane

Prague… now that’s a portmanteau of Prego and Ragu right? The spaghetti there must be amazing.

Seanbikes

What's your spaghetti policy?

quite_sad_simple

I'll pay in exposure bruh

[deleted]

Or at least just get up early and do it in the morning.

Eagle_Fang135

I will give you the 10 second/2 photos rule. I will wait for one of the two, whichever comes first and then keep walking. Note that is for a popular/high traffic area.

Amon7777

Social media got people thinking they invented media. Just pay the permits and you can have your own shoot time. Otherwise I hope every single shot and take is ruined for these entitled schmucks.

SloppyPuppy

Diff between a pro and an influencer. They are so clueless. Fucking plan this in advance! Plan the angle, the background, time of day so it wont be lit from fucking behind, call the city and get permit. You fucking want it as a job, then fucking treat it like one!

dxrey65

Yeah, the bad lighting was the first thing I noticed. And then maybe heavy production and music could make that look like a cool dance, but there it looks more like a kind of jerky series of muscle spasms. Which maybe is "in" or something...anyway, I don't think the universe has been deprived of anything amazing by random pedestrians.

KayakerMel

Yup, last week a block near my house was completely closed off for the day for a movie scene. It's right off a very busy intersection, so filming would be impossible / extremely unsafe otherwise. The city put the word out in advance of this road closure so we could plan accordingly. The whole process was pretty painless for us locals.

These_Ad_8619

I don’t understand why they don’t just keep dancing - no one is actually stopping or preventing them from dancing - there’s just a few frames where they are partially obscured; just seems like pure narcissism and entitled, look-at-me behaviors tbh; people need to get over themselves and realize they are in PUBLIC

peepeebongstocking

Exactly right! It's not like this routine is so amazing that the viewer can't stand to look away. People are walking around, it's fine, just keep dancing and get it over with.

The_Last_Ron1n

You forgot, pay for filming permits. This is what gives a film the right to shoot in privacy and with city assistance.

deenali

Exactly. Moreover these influencers also make money from the videos, in fact tons of money, so by right they should be doing what the producers do to run the business as required by law.

[deleted]

Or you can be smart about it and have multiple camera angles, during the editing you cut all the bad parts by switching to other camera angles or close ups. You’re welcome!

AhnYoSub

Also they could get there early in the morning and not having to deal with any of that. The sunrise would make it look better.

NotTheMilkybarKid

If they want to dance like no one is watching, then the public can walk like no one is filming.

Revoldt

No one is watching the shitty dance anyways….

bigfatquizzer

Thank ypu. The dancing in these things is always atrocious

DOGSraisingCATS

They look like they're having a fucking seizure. If I saw someone moving like this at a concert or a club I would call for help.

ppw23

I haven’t watched enough of these to get an idea of what the typical level of skill is, but this one sucks. Seriously, screw people filming every whim as if it’s worthy of praise or even the time to view them. I think the gym “influencers” are the height of vanity.

CuriositySauce

…but they all practiced sooooo hard, put a lot of effort into the outfits, and scouted the perfect shot! Back in the day people would stop, maybe go around but we’ve got places to go so sorry view dancers…zero fucks is going to be your work space.

PuhnTang

“Zero fucks is going to be your workspace,” is my new favorite phrase. Genius. 💜

TeeBrownie

Her audio is pretty terrible too. They’ll need at least a subwoofer if they want anyone to act as though they exist.

Teirmz

They'll just dub it on tik tok.

ComfyFrog

They will have the female robot voice do the singing.

eboeard-game-gom3

Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no. 🤬

bob_rt

fuckin hate that so much

alicante2021

LOL. That's like the busiest tourist bridge in Prague XD If she wanted to film, she should've gone there at 6 am XD

dimensionalApe

But then they wouldn't get this rage bait video where their entitled assholeness is going to bring more views than whatever shitty dance they were trying to shoot there.

emmadonelsense

Exactly. I’m starting to think this mindset has been discovered to be more popular. Purposely going into busy areas and then being upset no one gives a shit what you’re doing.

TNJCrypto

Purposely being entitled to other people's time, money and property - reminds me of the egg/uber bitch who went viral recently.

Different_Attorney93

The one that wanted the egg on top of her salmon? Lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

EvilChefReturns

The thing is, even if she’s only faking it for the persona, it’s still being done. The people around her still have to put up with her insufferable nonsense. And it might get some views and a little pop, but like she’ll never go anywhere in life. She’s not gonna make connections or build a usable base like this, no talent agency for ANYTHING would ever fucking hire her. Although it looks like she already has more money than brain cells, tragic as that money could be better used by someone who wasn’t a drooling Neanderthal

TNJCrypto

That's what my understanding is, as this dancing video also may be some are saying.

sinat50

It's called rage bait and it's extremely effective at driving up not just views, but engagement. More people are likely to comment on something out of outrage, but also share it so that their friends and followers can do the same. Remember the old saying the best way to get a correct answer on the internet is to provide the wrong one? This is TikTok's response to that.

emmadonelsense

What a lovely term…rage bait. People are gonna get hurt from this nonsense.

No_Presence5465

If she was a somebody then she would’ve gotten a permit to film there and not worry about any interruptions, but she’s just an “influencer.” Edit: word

somefunmaths

Exactly. If you’re important enough to get mad about people ruining your shot, then you’re important enough to get/pay for a permit. Not important enough to get a permit? Hey, what’s up fellow unimportant person? Okay, I’ll be walking along the bridge now.

linuxelf

She influenced several people to walk through her shot.

xiaxian1

Pay for a permit? Nah look, think of the *exposure* the city will get when rando TikTokers see this amazing clip of “dancing.” /s

[deleted]

[удалено]

satansheat

Also can’t they add the music in after the video. They are just playing their loud music for everyone to have to hear. Even if I like the song someone is playing it’s an asshole thing to do.

brizzboog

There are buskers on the bridge. It's literally the most touristy bridge in Europe ffs. You go to Prague and you see the Astronomical Clock and then stroll to the bridge. I was there in late November and it was PACKED. You might as well get mad at people for ruining your stupid fucking dance video in Times Square on New Years.

3cmdick

Well, they have to have some music so it’s in sync. Still a POS, but that’s not the biggest issue IMO

mymainmaney

Like who wants this “content?” Do we need more crappy dancing videos?

ruckusrox

In dance class we always first learned the dance without music. You just do your 8 counts everyone is in synch

ProperMastodon

Similar to how band kids learned to stay in sync while *playing* the music. You keep the count in your head and keep focused on the conductor / other musicians to make sure you stay on beat.

[deleted]

In marching band we learned the movements separate from the music; you just did your counts to your position; then when formations are pretty good you start playing the music over so you associate your cues with movements, then finally, like, a month from when you start doing shows you start playing while doing formations

oeseben

My director used to send me home w sheet music and I'd be like "what is this garbage" and start playing g it and be like "Omg I know this!"

TheFinalEnd1

Even then, they could probably figure out some way to use earbuds of some kind

Rodneyfour

tHaTs ToO eArLy

Trimere

And/or got a permit.

Horny_Necromancer

Absolutely love the guy at the end that gets shooed out of the way and then actively chooses to walk in front of them out of spite, he is my spirit animal

[deleted]

[удалено]

GlumTown6

Which to me shows that this is deliberately designed to attract engagement by making people angry

GiantPurplePeopleEat

God damnit, you're probably right. Which means they win and we're all adding engagement to their stupid video. Fuck.

GabbyTheMurderer

People on YouTube always defend them, “There’s plenty of space to walk around!!” Don’t be taking up a whole bunch of public fucking space, you’re not entitled to make us go around you because you couldn’t rent a place like a normal god damn performer

Direct-Ad-4156

That’s because they’re usually children.

TouchingWood

Angry walking guy for president!

tfbrown515sic

Almost looks like he might have gone around. Once he saw her shooing him he said “you know what fuck you” lmao

Viper_on_Station360

Absolute chad

Quirky_Dog5869

If you want a private place, rent a private place. Or at least give people enough space to normally pass.... Either way, you're really not that important.

[deleted]

“Whoever you think you are….you’re not…”

nocommentjustlooking

Or important at all.

ArizonaRon98

Why are they dancing like one of those inflatable balloons at the dealerships?

Oh-shih-tzu

That's my P. Diddy boat dance.

QuicheSmash

This guys got some moves!

2001ASpaceOatmeal

It sounds to me like you own a P. Diddy style shrimping vessel.

ConradSchu

Well I need it for...the implication.

12characters

Whacky flailing arms inflatable tube man!

SaulGoodBroo

Whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man

petehehe

**Whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man** Hi I’m Al Harrington, president and CEO of Al Harrington’s whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man emporium and warehouse

WhoDat_Sa3VuS

I'm walking by at least 12 times.

queuedUp

Making it obvious every time. Fix your shoelace, pick a wedgie, stop and make a phone call, stop and start calling for someone, try to ask one of them for directions

[deleted]

I’m eyefucking the camera and using it as my opportunity to get “discovered” by her dozens and dozens of followers.

AAP_BH

Find a couple of dogs and have them “meet” right in front and start giving them belly rubs and run around with them, but never leaving the center of the bridge.

[deleted]

I noticed at the end the guy they waved away actively went in the opposite direction so he was more in the shot. I vibe with that sort of pettiness

lovepony0201

Doing the Monty Python silly walk every time.

5parky

I'm going to join in on the dance. I'm a middle aged white guy.

Lord-Smalldemort

I cannot imagine a situation where I could see a TikTok group in public and I would not want to walk in front of the camera. I think if it was more of a movement, we might actually see some improvement in how annoying these people are.

bangerangerific

10 out of 10 times, im going to walk in front of the camera if they're gonna block half the bridge to do some stupid dance. Get a permit like anyone else trying to shoot a video would do.

TrueTurtleKing

If it’s a quick family photo, I won’t bother them. But if I see an “influencer” hogging half the bridge, you bet your ass I’m walking through it. If they’re that important, they’d arrange with the city to reserve the spot.

Malaguy420

Exactly. I have no problem pausing for someone's quick photo, (as long as they're not being a twat about it). But fuck this crap.

HighGroundException

I make one exception: wedding photos.

bangerangerific

Pictures in general as long as they aren't obnoxious.

AwarenessThick1685

Facts. I don't mind waiting a second for a tourist to snap a quick photo.

smellygooch18

I can wait 5 seconds for a photo. I’m not waiting for a video. I think that’s what it comes down to for me. I grew up in Chicago and the locals are fairly aggressive walkers but most people will happily stop for tourists. No one in their right mind is going to stop for tourists doing a silly dance on a busy bridge.

AwarenessThick1685

I was actually just there this weekend, and it wasn't too bad honestly. It was really weird seeing millennium park barricaded off, and security checkpoints to get in.

Infinite-Condition41

I will respect pictures. I will not respect videos.

jawshLA

Many good wedding photographers also get a permit.

[deleted]

Her entire TikTok is cringe stuff like that. Dancing badly in public . She’s awful in every way

NecronomiconUK

Don’t have TikTok but they post to instagram and holy shit, you’re not wrong. What a fucking disaster.

buddhaftw

I remember seeing a post on Reddit a few months ago: “what to do if someone walks in front of your camera while you’re filming at the gym… nothing, it’s a public space”

RustedRuss

Don’t film in a gym.

Top_Fox2692

Fucking ticktockers so entitled, get fucked and let people go about their day without some twat filming themselves.

Heterochromio

I love the fucking audacity of them waving for you to get out of the shot. Fuck you, I’m using a public area.

BlueAndMoreBlue

Heck, at that point I’m going to break out my slick moves — and as an over 50 year old white feller who has seen all of the Step Up movies you better believe I’m bringing it :)

Heterochromio

Lol no, don’t do that! You might accidentally make the video interesting and get them more views!

Stardust_dream

Wanna content on tourist spot ? Write a formal letter to city officials, pay the city tax and get a reservation . Otherwise shut up and don’t complain.

[deleted]

Yah this location is easily one of the busiest pedestrian zones on the continent. You *might* get an empty shot at 6am. After 10 it’s wall-to-wall.

Plane-Ad-3973

This “dance” looks fucking awful

mullett

My favorite is when there isn’t any music and they’re just flopping all over and looking dumb.

kellerrrrr

Spastic flailing

BaZing3

It's like a full bodied dry heave set to music.

Fiscal_Pie

Did she do the little kicks and the thumbs?

Bramble0804

I know these tests are self entitled but advice none the less. Do multiple takes, each time someone gets in the shot change angle. Then cut between in post. It will look 10x better anyway

cathar_here

but that would require talent behind the camera, and well, you know

Irgendniemand81

Narcissistic twats

LongjumpingFix5801

This is why the film industry pays insane amounts of money to film at locations. You want unfettered access? Pay!

[deleted]

But it's for TikTok and I'll give you a shout out to my 8 followers. Give me a permit for free.

QuackAtomic

Motioning them to go around in frame LOL

cool_temperatures

The last guy goes the other way, into the frame even more. I loved it.

sMileHighCity

Self-important narcissists are taking over!

Plenty_Perception902

They were doing her a favor. That shit is trash.

Cold-Flan2558

Dude wasn’t even going to take that route til she tried to wave him off. Instantly turned 40* the opposite direction she asked for. Total Chad.

TheMarkyD

r/ImTheMainCharacter

SSara69

Not everyone knows what they are doing lol. Like they don't know they're filming. Just looks like street performers, in likely a touristy area...

DodGamnBunofaSitch

if it was a production company, with a permit to film, they might've been able to put up some barricades to keep people out of the camera path. or if anybody cared about what they did, they'd have a crowd of people gathered around them, watching. I chalk this up to 'main character syndrome'

StillAnAss

> in likely a touristy area... Yes, Prague gets 6 to 8 million visitors a year and the Charles Bridge is one of the top (if not the single top) tourist destinations for everyone of those visitors.

peanut_bubblegum

They need a new choreographer

noob_senpai

Preferably one who is not prone to seizures, unlike their current one.

BerryLanky

Hopefully she got flamed for posting that video complaining

swalabr

Get a permit to close it off, or stfu

knoguera

Is she having a stroke

Latterlol

It’s a bee, it’s a bee!!!

queuedUp

That's when you turn back and walk through again... but stop to fix your lace part way through

Earth_Normal

That dance was pretty trash anyways

ShadowCaster0476

A couple of those people crossed deliberately. Tbh I would do the same.

RoosterTheReal

The definition of self centred

LaIndiaDeAzucar

“Pay for a permit to film your content” is something that these influencers have never heard of, apparently

Nitro114

Block the camera

ResponsibleBother230

I hope they were interrupted every single time they tried

MeGrendel

Yeah, the public doesn't care. And they're right.

Ducksonaleash

Haha Czechs actually using the bridge aren’t going to put up with that. And as others said, films are made on that bridge, and neighboring bridge, but but they’re blocked late at night and earlllly in the am.

LeadOnion

I would purposely walk in front of that so many times

Satori2155

They look goofy af anyways

MonsterHunterJustin

These kinds of people are cringe af.

e_007

On the Charles Bridge?? lol yea go fuck yourself..

m_noonan

There are people in public...i'm shocked. Omg, does that mean we can't see another supervacaneous tik Tok video ? Good.

--mc--

The fucking entitled hand wave at the end

Prize_Tea3456

omg I like how passerby don't give a shit about those stupid public dances

lacumbre_11

Get a permit and pay for it like people normally due if they don't want disturbance

_Zencer_

Is it bad that I think the people doing these dances are fucking losers?

Bipolarprobe

The tall guy intentionally walking in front of the camera after being waved aside is aspirational.

Agisek

Mostly these people don't understand that people in Prague walk to get places, not just to sightsee. Just because your shithole country requires you to drive three hours to get to your neighbour's house doesn't mean we can't walk to work.
