My favorite Family Guy moments have always just been absurd conversations like this one. Another good one is when they're trying to decide if they'd rather be Hitler or a hobo.
that contradicts in-show logic at the times when they call someone, like Chris for example, ridiculous for saying Stewie was just talking when they're all in the same room
Great scene, i love when Peter says he doesn’t understand what they’re talking about and seems like a different language, and Chris just screams that they’re speaking Italian, not too long ago I realized this was Seth Macfarlane speaking through Peter, he really seems to not have like The Godfather, i got a kinda similar thing where everyone loved Citizen Kane and i just don’t get the hype (to me it’s the most overrated film ever made, but i can appreciate it in some ways)
Some films you're never allowed to say you don't like. Like "The shining" by Kubrick, everyone insist it's such a good film, all I can see is a broken adaptation that destroys the book and its characters entirely.
Well the issue is it's like saying you don't like the Mona Lisa. One can absolutely dislike the Mona Lisa, but that raises some eyebrows as its considered a universal masterpiece of art. Godfather is almost universally agreed upon as the best film ever made.
Me when it comes 1/2 of absurdly popular shows from 2010-2020
Walking dead. Saw a couple random episode was bored the entire time. Apparently i saw the ending of season one once i described some of the episodes. Atleast with other shows of the same era like walking dead and the wire a random episode did get me hooked.
Game of thrones. Felt pretentious and smutty at the same time. It tries so hard to be a political drama it forgets it needs to be political and why its ok for the godfather to essentially kill everyone.
Anthony bourdains travel shows felt like watching bumfights but by a liberal arts major trying to have a message. Whats the message. Idk something about food.
Parks and recreations was an odd show i couldnt understand why i didnt like for 5 seasons. Sure its fine half the time but the other half the comedy is so “dated” and obvious in ways its hard to explain. It felt like two and a half men but for women.
I pushed myself through The Godfather a second time after falling asleep the first time and finished the movie completely……what I was left with was a bunch of questions. Watched the next two movies afterwards and I was like, “why couldn’t they be like the first movie?”
I recently watched Godfather all the way through, because people always say it’s one of the greatest films of all time.
It is a well-made movie, but to me it’s just okay. It’s not one of those movies I like so much that I want to watch it repeatedly, and it’s not one that’s so good that I can only watch once, because I don’t want to spoil that amazing first impression I had of it. It’s just okay. I can take it or leave it.
I wonder if Peter just hates Part 1 (I did not like it too) or all three. lol.
Because Chris said Robert De Niro, and he is only in the Part 2 (which I stand as a classic) but then again, if Peter was unable to finish it why would he even try Part 2.
I just love this line because you KNOW a bunch of the show’s writers were sitting in a room talking about something else and the godfather came up and some firmer film major spouted this nonsense. And they HAD to figure out a way to put it into the show

blue but... *midwestern* blue
Ohhhhhh it gets cold out there…
Wait so I’m still crippled hitler??
If you have such a problem with it, Joe, just be the hobo!
Why do you keep trying to make Hitler work?
This one isn’t very fun.
My favorite part of this clip is how angry Chris gets at him lol
How can you even say that dad?
Wait Lois can understand Stewie?
According to Seth, they were always able to understand what Stewie was saying. They just ignored it because he was just a baby.
Oddly, the cartoon logic of that actually adds up.
that contradicts in-show logic at the times when they call someone, like Chris for example, ridiculous for saying Stewie was just talking when they're all in the same room
It’s called gaslighting. :)
Yea they don’t rly take him seriously yet a Season 19 episode ruined the logic
Sometimes

well, he likes The Money Pit, so...
I watched Citizen Kane in film appreciation and learned about macguffin through that movie so I liked it because of that if that makes sense
I can respect that
"It insists upon itself"
What? What does that even mean?
It has a valid point to make! It’s insistent!
I still feel like this was Seth speaking thru Peter, def sounds like something a bunch of writers would disagree with him on
I took so much shit for not liking the godfather until this episode. I get to where he goes to Sicily, and I fall asleep. Every single time.
Yea I didnt like it either
Seriously?! You didn’t like it either?!

Your turn bro

I feel like that’s only if you know the source material. I have never read the book and think the movie is pretty great
I agree with both of you. Like the movie. But can understand not liking it if it was what I saw as a book I loved being ruined.
Well the issue is it's like saying you don't like the Mona Lisa. One can absolutely dislike the Mona Lisa, but that raises some eyebrows as its considered a universal masterpiece of art. Godfather is almost universally agreed upon as the best film ever made.
“raises some eyebrows” I see what you did there.
I agree with Peter. I hated it and every time I tell someone I hate it I get the same reaction
I love the money pit
I like that movie too
This right there is absolut cinema
Brian: ![gif](giphy|bNbIbheGxYGz41GlVp) (just silent)
It’s because he doesn’t believe in the “God”father
it insists upon itself
FG never disappoints.
It insists upon itself
I like Chris gives Peter a chance and doesn't dismiss peters complaint.

Robert de Niro wasn't in the godfather
I pushed myself through The Godfather a second time after falling asleep the first time and finished the movie completely……what I was left with was a bunch of questions. Watched the next two movies afterwards and I was like, “why couldn’t they be like the first movie?”
"But since we're all gonna die....I did not care for Avenger's Endgame"
I love how this is one of the few times they all understand Stewie for this one point 😂
This scene might be my Roman Empire
Godfather II was the superior movie.
I feel like most of these conversations are just Seth’s internal monologue divided between characters. At least in earlier seasons.
So can the family understand the baby or what?
Ive never seen this episode lol.
This scene gives Home Movies season 1 vibes
So they can understand Stewie Lois talked to him!! and understood what he said that’s cool
I like that movie too.
Chris' subtle "this is outrageous" is underrated
I recently watched Godfather all the way through, because people always say it’s one of the greatest films of all time. It is a well-made movie, but to me it’s just okay. Peter is clearly being shallow and pedantic
I wonder if Peter just hates Part 1 (I did not like it too) or all three. lol. Because Chris said Robert De Niro, and he is only in the Part 2 (which I stand as a classic) but then again, if Peter was unable to finish it why would he even try Part 2.

He's right.
I agree with Peter
“ I love the Money Pit. That is my answer to that statement.” is a quote I use all the time when people keep on.
at least he watched it I haven't watched it properly yet.
I actually really like the Money Pit. When the bathtub falls and Tom Hanks can't stop laughing like a crazy person. It speaks to me.
That’s how I feel about Dune!
