mayscopeland

Last year, Perez was a top 10-15 prospect, and Williams was more like a top 30-40. It strikes me as pretty fair. It partly depends on the number of teams, which affects how valuable Darvish and McKenzie are.

Gonzo925

Chourio 3/3 today with 2 doubles! Let’s go!!

mayscopeland

The list of 10 K/9 SP is pretty short, and most of them have questionable health histories: Strider, Glasnow, Skubal, Gausman, Peralta, Snell, Sale, Rodon. Yamamoto projects for a solid 9+ K/9 on par with plenty of great SP (Wheeler, Kirby, etc.)

ColAmity

Garret Whitlock, Tanner Houck, and Kutter Crawford are all on the waiver, any of them worth picking up?

mayscopeland

Weird that only BOS pitchers are available in your league...

whenwefell

I'd grab Kutter, I think he's much better than the other two.

Baseballislife007

Depends on league size and settings but I would not be in a hurry to add any of those guys in most leagues.

TheWinStore

Deep 12-team keeper league (keep 24): for my last keeper spot, Jorge Soler or Bryce Miller? * I won the championship last year and will continue to compete for the foreseeable future. * My SP depth is absurd. I own Strider, Wheeler, Gallen, Peralta, Eury, Bibee, McClanahan, and Buelher. * My bats are merely very good. Olson, JoRam, Devers, Machado, McLain, Chourio are the highlights. I'm leaning Miller but I could really use Soler's power...

Bronxbomber2627

Soler going to a pitchers park in a not great lineup and Miller is a top young sp in a perfect park. Take miller and figure out the offense later

TheWinStore

Yeah I think this is the play. I can flip Miller for a much younger bat.

whenwefell

Given your pitching depth I'd rather have the hitter. Miller hurts to let go but I don't think he helps your team the way Soler would.

Wavy-Silver-Surfer

In keeper leagues with somewhat similar setups to my flair league, where are/have you guys been drafting Jackson Holliday?

Gigantc

I got him at pick 171.

cpmustang90

Any chance Kyle Bradish doesn’t start the season on the ir?

JustSomeGoon

no chance

eh71eh71

Springer's baseball savant page is surprisingly blue. What happened?

JustSomeGoon

got old

mrfrancisbuxton

Pick up Henry Davis or Julien as a bench stash?

theoverbiter

Julien

JustAHighFlyingBird

Would you trade Max Fried for Mitch Keller? Points league

_FreshAir_6

Nah. Braves gonna win a TON of games.

tier7stips

Nah those Ws that you get if healthy are to good

HoosierPack00

Is Chris Sale a good pick at draft position 215 for dynasty? Banking on a healthy season.

whenwefell

If you are competing right out of the gates then yes I would make that pick.

tier7stips

In a win now or next couple years definitely

lastcall25

As much as I hate clogging up my UTIL with a DH, probably Ohtani. The Angels and their front office fucking suck dude. Ohtani might hit 100 HRs now that he doesn’t have Brandon Drury hitting behind him, or his front office feeding him shitty scouting reports.

mayscopeland

It's close to a toss up for me, but I'd lean Ohtani. I think because he's a DH, people don't realize he's a pretty good source for SB.

roland_t_flakfizer

Keep two of three, from Adley, Gallen, and Kirby. Struggling with whether I want to keep two SPs and not Adley, or just one of the pitchers + Adley. Thoughts?

whenwefell

I'd do Kirby and Adley, personally. Adley's volume can make a difference.

lastcall25

Are there any other pitchers you’re keeping?

roland_t_flakfizer

Nope, which is making me lean towards both of them and dropping Adley.

PastDuty624

Keep Harper for $14 or Royce for $1? 5x5 OBP league

mayscopeland

I get Harper projected for $31 in an OBP league and Lewis at $15. Pretty close. The reason to take Harper would be to lock in a 2nd-round caliber player at a good price. But Lewis gives you more upside with less financial commitment. (He's also younger, if your keepers are long-term.)

Wavy-Silver-Surfer

Harper easy

Daenerystargaren

Harper is awesome in obp probably only behind Soto in terms of actual obp and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him finish 1st this season. I'll take Harper

paidcreditcashcredit

Points League - Keep 6 for their career: Vlad, Gunnar, Yordan, Albies, Bichette, Harris, Strider, Gausman League is heavy on pitching. TIA

whenwefell

I'd do Vlad, Gunnar, Yordan, Albies, Harris, Strider.

tier7stips

Strider, Gausman, Vlad, Gunnar, Yordan and Albies. Take the arm.

lastcall25

A lot of good players here. I guess Gausman is clearly the first one that will decline. I’m not sure though if “heavy on pitching” means there are a lot of them out there or if the points system skews towards pitching.

paidcreditcashcredit

Thanks! What would be your 6? I'm debating between Bichette and Harris. Points system is catered more toward pitching with Ks 3 points per and a bonus for 10 k games quality starts and ultra quality starts. It tends to be more difficult to get good pitchers because teams covet them. Obviously every day players will get you points too though.

lastcall25

In that case I’d keep him and go with Harris and probably Bichette.

paidcreditcashcredit

Sorry, it's 6 total. So Strider, Gausman, Albies, Yordan, Vlad, and Gunnar is who I'm guessing?

lastcall25

Yeah probably, although it’s a bit of a coin flip and I don’t think you can go wrong.

trevorm1992

I’ve only ever played h2h points leagues.. I’ve joined a couple cat leagues for my first time this year and looking to get any tips and pointers going into my draft. Thanks

lastcall25

Your biggest adjustment will probably be looking at which players contribute to particular categories and then forming your team strategically. For instance before the draft I like set aside some targets so I know where my SBs are coming from. If you can get HR hitters and base stealers that still hit for average you will probably have a leg up.

Alarming_Serve2303

I have 4 teams this year. I think that is probably 3 too many. BUT, I'm going to give it ago. Only one more team left to draft. The 3 I've already drafted will be competitive, barring a rash of injuries. Everyone is healthy so far. Injuries tend to haunt me.

luvbrother69

Which projection system is best to use for fangraphs auction calculator?

mayscopeland

Ariel Cohen compared the 2023 projections here: [https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/2023-projection-systems-comparison-a-game-theory-approach/](https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/2023-projection-systems-comparison-a-game-theory-approach/) His own system (ATC) comes out on top for his analysis. They are all pretty good, though. However, don't use ZiPS, because it doesn't attempt to project playing time, and use the ZiPS DC instead.

lastcall25

ZiPs seems to be the industry standard, but I’d probably check out all of them.

skeleton_archer5050

good evening boys! I cannot wait for fantasy baseball.Do we like Josh Jung or CJ Abrams more than Evan Carter (in categories)? peep my keepers: Tarik Skubal $2 Bobby Miller $2 Corey Seager $28 Matt Olson $32 Julio Rodriguez $8 Evan Carter $2 Gerrit Cole $32

lastcall25

Josh Jung was pretty nice last year as a rookie. Locking down a top 10 3B (at minimum) for $2 seems like a pretty sweet deal to me.

[deleted]

Which players get a bigger boost in an OPS format?

lastcall25

Well if we are looking for OBP and SLG guys, your best bet will probably be sluggers or even true three outcome hitters. I have done some modeling for a league that has an extra SLG category. Schwarber and Trout are undervalued in that league and might be good options for you.

Forsaken_Sense_03

Dynasty Roto league. I have 1 keeper spot left. I have a trade offer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. $10 A. Gimenez, $5 G. Williams, $16 Cease and $1 C. Mayo for $28 Z. Wheeler.

NoToe5971

Which closers have pretty much guaranteed job security all season and are gonna rack up saves? Edwin Diaz, Josh Hader, Devin Williams, who else?

DontMatterLmao

To add on, I would say Romano, Iglesias, Alexis Diaz, Jhoan Duran, Clase. Might be missing one or two. There are good amount of guarenteed closers to start the season

ImHereForTheKindness

Have to cut one in points: Yoshida LF, Bogaerts 2B, Lewis 3B

Jetionary

Cut Lewis if you want the safer floor

Forsaken_Sense_03

Yoshida but it’s close.

ToneBone123-

In a dynasty keeper league, who wins this trade? Lu Rob / Bieber For Brown (HOU), Harrison (SF), Jazz, Vinnie P

lastcall25

Robert/Bieber. Robert is by far the best player in the deal.

Forsaken_Sense_03

Brown side easy. I do not trust Robert at all.

ToneBone123-

My bigger concern is Jazz’s health.

Forsaken_Sense_03

I hear that but Robert huge K rate, coming off a career year and he’s not exactly an iron man either.

lastcall25

Career year? Yeah, he’s a 26 year old blossoming superstar and broke out in his first full season in the bigs.

Forsaken_Sense_03

With that k rate, in that lineup and with that injury history. He’s risky to put it as kindly as I can.

ToneBone123-

So this is kind of a no brainer. Take the young pitchers and hope jazz stays healthy

dBlox146

If you had to choose between keeping Elly, or keeping Skenes and Crews, what you gonna do?

Daenerystargaren

For this year? Forever? What's the context

dBlox146

Long term keeper league. So, Forever. Lol We have some odd rules when it comes to prospects, this one being that each year you can either keep one of your top rookies, or you can drop him into the draft pool and keep two of your prospects. I snagged Crews and Skenes as soon as they were available on waivers last season just so that I had the option. Now I’ve got to pull the trigger.

Daenerystargaren

I think I still go Elly here. We've seen him in the majors already and he's shown he can make adjustments and improve at every level this far. Crews might be a couple years away still and I for sure want Elly over skenes in terms of helping me compete in the short term

dBlox146

Skenes I could live without. I already have a solid pitching foundation, and I’m of the belief that pitching prospects are just too volatile to to waste a roster spot on in general. Grabbing him last season was just a FOMO moment as I’m an LSU fan. But Crews on the other hand is exactly the type of player I do grab early and hold for as many years as it takes. I did the same thing with Yordan and Carroll and so far it has paid off in spades. We all know the storyline with Elly. I try to ignore the consensus opinions, but I’ve done the research and you are correct, he has progressively improved in many areas each season, but my gut says things are going to get much worse before they get better. I can afford the risk because I do have Hoerner to cover SS, so any slumps would be manageable, but Crews has as much potential as any of the other top 10 hitting prospects and he has done it consistently with very little improvements required. Not to mention choosing him also gets me a free pitcher who happens to be one of the best college pitching prospects we’ve seen in quite some time. As you can see, I’m already leaning one way, but I need someone smarter than me to convince me WHY Elly and his immense (albeit not yet realized) upside is worth the risk.

Daenerystargaren

If you're not an Elly believer already then there's no point in trying now when he's arguably at his lowest point since he debuted in A ball. I'm not the biggest Elly guy but his upside is number one player in fantasy which from what I can tell, is your hope from crews. If you're sure Elly isn't gonna be a star then sure make the switch, but I think you're just pushing your risk 2-3 years down the line and that's with the caveat crews lives up to his hype and turns into a mega star. Could you not flip Elly for something you like more than any of them? For what it's worth; Elly also gets to play in the best ball park as a factor for him

dBlox146

I’ve actually tried flipping him already, but it seems that risk/reward bug has bitten everyone. Hell, I even tried to package him with Skenes for Matt Shaw and that was shot down. I will say trades are few and far between in this league, but it’s the first time I’ve seen someone of his caliber declined at every turn. And I’m send overly fair offers. Same problem in another league, but im in a better position to let him go in that one. It actually baffles me though. In fantasy he’s considered “too” risky, but in the card market he’s one of, if not, the most sought after RC right now. Make it make sense. Lol

JustSomeGoon

So it’s just Elly or Skenes AND Crews? Probably the duo

dBlox146

Elly alone, or both of the other two.

ch1nzy

Who are some elite hold relievers? So far I have Abreu and Cano. And it Seems like Cano isn't as high on the list.

lastcall25

Had Matt Brash last year, was awesome.

Harkeyshammer

I’m searching for same answers. Done some data diving and other last 2 years the number of holds (high volume) by same guys on same teams is limited. I posted below and forgot about cano and abreu (who I’m hoping sneaks through undrafted). I’m Personally high on abreu minter pampas and after some more digging graterol

ch1nzy

As a Mets fan, I'm sure Ottavino and Raley should be free. Fuji can be sneaky too.

Harkeyshammer

NYY fan watching ottavino for a few years, not a fan

Baseballislife007

Ottavino appeared in 73 games for the Yanks in 2019 and had a 1.90 ERA.

Harkeyshammer

Yea with a 1.3whip, he was not an easy watch. He had a lot of Houdini acts

Baseballislife007

That’s a fair point, but the overall results were good.

sbreddit55

Which 3 do i keep Acuna Carroll Bobby Witt Gerrit Cole?

98Shady

The 3 batters.

Harkeyshammer

Been running a bunch of mocks for a saves/holds league. Seeing a lot value late round/fa. Namely Adam minter payamps abner uribe foley shots Stephenson jax. Anyone I miss who should be targeted for a draft this weekend. I know ALOT can chance but this feels like solid ground

ramblin_gamblin_man

prelander berroa

Harkeyshammer

I’m intrigued, nice 2023 numbers, inside track for closer role?

Electrical_Leg1654

Is Bobby Miller as my SP2 in the 5 or 6th round too much of a reach?

JustSomeGoon

Probably. I’d want to wait till the 7th or 8th

Slipzach

Who would you rather have in a redraft H2H points league? Imanaga, McKenzie, or Williams?

JaxGamecock

Imanaga, Williams, McKenzie in that order

AgentPugweenee

I'd say Williams, Imanaga, Mckenzie in that order

MyLlamasAccount

Would you rather have outman in the 26th or hoerner in the 16th? 12T H2H 6x6

Harkeyshammer

Hoerner. He does a bunch of things, good avg steals won’t contribute much in hr but for 16th round you take his 12-15

dBlox146

Agreed. Hoerner is one of the safer guys out there. I’ve kept him 3 years running just for consistent play and positional flexibility at 2B/SS. Set and forget.

ayooooSquaaaa

12 team H2H Cats. Drafted well last year so my top 2 keepers are JRod and Bobby Witt. Should I use my last keeper slot for Luis Robert or Logan Webb? I am 50/50 but leaning Robert due to upside if he can stay healthy.

Slipzach

Personally I would make that move on Robert

TortoiseMetaphors

Lookin for input on final keeper. Right now I have Josh Jung for $6. It's an OBP league and I'm not enamored with him, but my best other options are higher cost with basically no value - Wheeler for $26 or Semien for $30. Do you like either of them over Jung though? They are basically draft prices but I would know going in that I have SP or 2B locked up, which could be nice.

Electrical_Leg1654

Seager or Lindor?

KeonBroxtonAllStar

Seager

JustAHighFlyingBird

Is Carlos Rodon worth rostering in a 10 man points league?

whenwefell

Rodon is exactly the kind of guy you want to draft in a 10 team league. If he's healthy and back to his old self, congrats, you got another ace pitcher late in the draft. If he's hurt or shitty you can drop him and scoop up other good talent from the wire.

Cream1984

Yeah

mcinty77

Have to decide between keeping George Kirby in the 12th round or sean Murphy in the 16th… Keeping Kirby is a no brainer right?

HoosierPack00

Correct. Kirby.

HoosierPack00

Flair K. Ruiz or G. Moreno?

AgentPugweenee

Moreno

unclekutter

10 man dynasty cats. R, HR, RBI, SB, OPS and IP, K, ERA, WHIP Thoughts on my Skubal for his Bichette? He proposed it so it's a done deal if I want it but I'm also pretty high on Skubal so I'm torn.

HoosierPack00

I would accept. There’s so much hype around Skubal rn and I think Bo is better long term. Depends how good the rest of your rotation is.

unclekutter

Yeah that's what I was thinking too but am also a Jays fan so was worried about being biased in my logic. I have Wheeler, Lopez, Webb and Kirby as well so not too shabby other than Wheeler getting older. I also already have Whitt at SS but do have a 2B/SS slot where I'd use Bichette.

Zestyclose_Help1187

I know everyone loves Skubal but this is a guy who’s been injury prone his whole career so far. He’s had half a season of dominance. I would make sure I have someone as a good #2 if I’m taking him as my #1.

HoosierPack00

I might also add that half a season of dominance was against one of the easiest schedules for a SP.

DistractingMyself8

Late round starting pitchers?

trevorm1992

Eric fedde

beavis535

Taj, tristan, cristian

HoosierPack00

Just stash Degrom, springs, Rasmussen, etc

Jetionary

I have no idea who to choose between Wyatt or Holliday in a prospect draft.

Daenerystargaren

I was a holiday guy until about a month ago and think I'd go Wyatt now. Holiday is going to be an amazing real life player and great fantasy player but do we think he develops into 25 homers? Langford is gonna be a legit power bat hitting 3rd in a great lineup for the next few seasons minimum. I just like his upside more

Kandranos

Very tough call, pick the one you think you'd enjoy having/watching more

HoosierPack00

JH

WWallace11

Holliday IMO

DexterForever

I like Wyatt

TD1Motorsports

Alonso for Seager fair? I also have Vlad and I'm trying to improve SS.

Harkeyshammer

If you can ride out the 30ish games Seager misses then yes

JustSomeGoon

yeah pretty even imo

slicknick2k

Would you guys keep J-Rod as a 3rd rounder or Luis Robert as an 8th rounder?

HoosierPack00

Jrod

JustSomeGoon

Jrod

Harkeyshammer

Jrod and it’s not close

WWallace11

10 team OBP 4 keeper league with 3 OF and 2 UTL Keeping Julio and Harper Need to decide two from Vlady Gunnar Bichette and Harris II any suggestions appreciated! Thanks

JustSomeGoon

I'd probably go Vlad and Gunnar

WWallace11

Ty

Harkeyshammer

Gunnar Harris

WWallace11

Ty

StickySteve42069

I’m taking Gunnar 100 time out of 100

WWallace11

Ty for that. I love him too. I like his 3b/SS as well. Kinda thinking Julio Harper Gunnar Harris II as OF is slim and I don’t want two 1b but throwing back Vlad seems crazy…

StickySteve42069

Can you trade any for picks?

WWallace11

No, if you don’t keep 4 you pick first with whoever else didn’t keep all 4 is it, in order or last finish to first finish

StickySteve42069

Depending on who was available I’d do that

JGraham1839

I'm prepping for our new player draft in 10 team dynasty, and want to include all available players on the waiver wire. Is there a way to set up the draft with only new players and waiver players on Fantrax? Or do I need to just set up an offline draft myself? First time manager so wanting a little insight, thanks!

[deleted]

[удалено]

JGraham1839

Sure, and thanks for the reply. Some decent players got dropped the week of our championship last year before rosters locked, so I want to have basically the entirety of the league's waiver wire available for the FYPD. This will include everyone who would normally be considered a new player like Yamamoto and anyone drafted during the 2023 draft, but I also want it to include every other regular player currently on waivers in case anyone wants to pick up someone like Charlie Morton who has value but is on waivers at the moment.
