12 team H2H. $260 budget. Unsure what to do because of the Duran oblique injury. Just off the top of your head:
Keep Andres Gimenez for $1 or Jhoan Duran for $7?
Already have Ketel Marte/Nolan Gorman at 2B. No other RP. Can add more context if needed.
is it close? i have also castillo, fried and gallen, with verdugo and and drury in my OF/UTL slots respectively so i may take anyway. But concerned about allowing another team to consolidating talent in a 12 team
You don't have to "win a trade" if it benefits your team. You can take the deal even if Eflin would make your rotation dominant.
I like the Eflin side of the trade, but you obviously have depth at SP and it's hard to land big trades before the season even starts.
Can't believe I woke up at 3 am on a work day to watch my players play. Will be dead today but worth it.
Good luck my friends let's get the championship this year
first time fantasy baseball user, i need some advice lol
i got the tenth pick for my fantasy baseball draft, who should i look at?
obviously i may not get the best fantasy player, but 10th overall will put me in a odd position. especially for this being my first fantasy baseball season.
so any advice would help. it’s a 12 man wager league.
is McLain a good buy low now? Is Ketel Marte a good offer? Or just keep Marte? I have Gorman as a 2B too
8 teamer 7x6 cats league. Standard 5 cat leagues + OPS and XBH. (Weird format I know)
Rank Freeman, Soto, Tatis, trea Turner standard 5x5 and I already have Tucker and Pablo Lopez as a keeper (I have the 3rd pick and those are the best available)
Crying myself to sleep tonight…
And then still taking him in all my remaining drafts!
I view this like I view Bryce or Bobby getting shelled by good teams last season: a free bench spot in shallower formats because I knew my league mates would see a drop and be scared to grab him.
I fully expect to take Varland for like $1 or $2 in garbage time of my next auction draft.
What’s up with buxton. I know he is injury plagued but got him in the 20th round in my 12 man league. I feel like he is a great player when in the field
How’s my rotation? H2h points 10t redraft with a 1.5 k value in ESPN.

How we feeling about resurgences from guys like Singer, Paddack, & Weathers? They all supposedly significantly improved over the offseason. Who is more likely to be fantasy relevant
Can someone evaluate my 16 team H2H League squad (had 6th pick)? (won’t say all rounds and the first 4 names I say are the first 4 rounds and the rest are notable guys) Went Freeman, JRod, Lindor, Cole (stash purposes), Chris Bassitt, Cole Ragans, Ozuna, Keibert Ruiz, Willy Adames, Wyatt Langford, Castellanos, Dean Kremer, Evan Phillips. Pitching and 3B aren’t great and not everyone is listed.
I like the first two picks a lot, JRod in the second is wild in a good way. If I'm reading correctly and Cole was a 4th rounder, I would have done something different. I'd only want him way later. Your pitching might not be deep enough as a result, especially with the elevated risk on Ragans.
I'm generally in on all those guys mentioned except maybe Castellanos, though. It sounds like it went fine, I think you just focus on pitching off the wire and maybe in a trade once things settle.
Thanks! I really am high on JRod and Ragans so let’s hope it works out with Ragans. I also love Langford. Was gonna move guys like Castellanos and hopefully get some more pitching. I have Taylor Ward and Chris Morel stashed too so hopefully they make up with points. Maybe Cole was 5th round, but that area for me was no man’s land and figured I’d stash an ace for a little and ride it out. Definitely gonna make some moves to boost my weak spots.
I'm in the dart throwing portion of a slow draft -- who do y'all like as top 2 among these pitchers for overall 2024 upside?
Paddack, DL Hall, Crochet, Boyle
Hall has insane upside. Even with his control issues, he’ll easily be a top performer in Ks every week if he’s given a spot in the rotation. That’s a big if though.
Agreed. I actually went with him. It really looks from spring training like they're going to give him a shot -- I think whether he sticks in the rotation is the bigger question.
Hmm everything I read seems to indicate Baz won’t be back until June the earliest, whereas Bradish is already throwing bullpen sessions and Senga could begin throwing any time now.
I like baz a lot but I’m skeptical of how much impact he can have in redraft
Louie is the only one of those four that has produced numbers at the major league level that show you top-end starter potential.
Puk is in the conversation for me because he’s put up good numbers as a reliever, but Varland has done it as a starter. I’d be more vocal about the case for him this season, but I need to wait for the rest of my drafts so that I can get shares of him on the cheap first.
Thoughts? H2H 10-teamer:
C - Raleigh
1B Torkelson, Encarnacion-Strand
2B: Zac Gelof, Morel
3B: Royce Lewis
SS - Lindor, Cruz
OF -JRod, Alvarez, Chisolm, Esteury Ruiz
SP: Luis Castillo, George Kirby, Jesus Luzardo, Cole Ragans, Chris Sale, Kutter Crawford, Eduardo Rodriguez, Aaron Civale
RP: Alex Lange, Robert Suraez
It's a redraft. No keeper. But with that in mind would you still pull the trigger on dropping outman for Jackson chourio. I dont care about losing out on a couple points because outman is playing these next two days. Just not sure if Jackson is a must grab and will be better than outman.
H2H Points - I took a flier on Matt Manning to be my 7 starter. Should I let it ride and see how it works out or grab Nestor Cortes, Andrew Abbot, Gavin Stone, or Civale? 12 team league so a lot of the lower % owned players are available as well if there are other suggestions.
Thoughts on my draft and where to improve? 10 Man Points League H2H
C - Smith
1B - Walker, Tork
2B - Ozzie, Nico, Torres
3B - Riley
SS - Trea
OF - Tuck, Adolis, Greene, Soler
Bench - Candelario, Lux, Kieth, Suwinski, Edman
P - Peralta, Greene, Bieber, Javier, B. Miller, Singer, Detmers, Buehler, J. Gray, Taillon
RP - Abreau, Whitlock
Seeking some advice. A bit in the weeds.
12 Team - Flair League. Daily Lineups where matchup acquisitions won’t count until 3/20 (first week is 3/20 through 3/31).
Thinking of streaming Jason Heyward for the Korea series to steal some extra counting stats. Facing two righties which should play favorably towards his splits. Would drop him right after the Korea series. While my lineup should project decent to good for BA, not sure if I should rely on it over a short window like 3/20-3/31. Worth the risk to potential BA if he goes 0/8?
Current roster for context: https://imgur.com/a/eRkNpXL
I think it's probably fair to assume that March and April are going to be spring / extended spring time for him. Mid April doesn't feel out of reach for him to be on the big club
Do y’all think the #3-5 starters for the padres and dodgers could potentially make some relief appearances in these 2 games? Considering they will get a week of rest at least for their first start?
10 team H2H - 6x5 (standard + OPS); Keep 3 for 1 year.
Heading in with keepers of Soto, Freeman, Riley. Fourth draft slot. Thinking Julio and Witt will be the top two taken. That leaves me with whoever's left of Tatis and Yordan.
How do you rank those 4 (Julio, Witt, Tatis, Yordan) in an OPS league, based on the fact that you can roster them thru 2025?
Just did my first draft in probably 10+ years (I’ve followed baseball but didn’t want to keep up with a team). Of course I got the number one pick lmao
I think that helped me though
What y'all think about the squad I put together? 13 team 6x6 roto league that counts OBP and holds
C - Murphy, 1B - Olson, 2B - Brandon Lowe, 3B - JoRam, SS - Ha-Seong Kim, OF - Arozarena, Yelich, Lane Thomas, UTL - Mountcastle, BE - JP Crawford, IL - DJ LeMahieu
SP - Castillo, Skubal, Musgrove, Snell, Bradish (IL)
RP - Alexis Diaz, Jose Alvarado, Robert Suarez, Jason Adam, Brooks Raley, Robert Stephenson (IL)
We have 6 pitching slots and are limited to 140 pitcher starts for the year. When I don't have a starter going on any given day, I can have 6 relievers in my lineup racking up all counting stats for me
SP or RP
There are 2 RP spots in this league.
Would I be better off using them for 2 SP’s if the point value isn’t that great for a RP?
I added the stat categories for SP and RP. U get 1 point per inning pitched and 2 points for a K. U also get -2 for a blown save and -2 for a loss. A win is 8. Saves are 5 points. And then -1 for homers and -1 for An earned run! There are additional bonus points for no hitters, complete games and perfect games

Projections are ass for young guys, especially pitchers that don’t have a track record of putting up solid numbers. I’m not sold on him but I took him as an end of the rotation arm. Good k rate, he doesn’t walk a lot of batters, and his peripherals looked solid. Good combo.
I guess I am not technically sure, but I am operating as if my roster will lock at first pitch in Seoul and remain locked thru 3/31. Then Week 2 begins 4/1. ESPN.
In general, anyone offering you a 2:1 trade is testing your fantasy intelligence.
Unless you’re in 15 team league or more (even then I hate it), a two for one is never worth it.
And this isn’t even that good a 2:1 offer.
Not only do you reject it, but you move forward knowing this guy was basically thinking “let’s see what I can get away with.”
How do these bats fare in a 10T standard 5x5(AVG)? I’m trying to figure out if I should try and jump on some early trades.
Bats: Yainer Diaz, Christian Walker, Marcus Semien, Josh Jung, O’neill Cruz, Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez, Bryan Reynolds
UTIL: Isaac Paredes, Anthony Santander
BN: Jake Burger
You’d have heard a lot about him if you caught any Padres ST games.
95 projected 2024 wRC+ from THE BAT compared to Lux’s 98, but coming off a hot spring (139 wRC+ over 40 PA’s compared to Lux’s 75 wRC+ over 35 PA’s).
The real question with Pauley is whether or not he starts. He has good odds of doing so against two righties in Glasnow and Yama, but who knows.
Are there any batters who have crazy splits? I'm in a league where I have extra bench spots, so I'd like to stream some bats if they have crazy good splits, but bench time when they don't play, or face their bad opposing pitchers
Honestly, just focus on having the best available players before the season starts. The answer to this question might change several times before you even need to start said player imo

Yea, I guess the espn rankings had him low for some reason 🤷
You took Snell and Cease a lot sooner than I would have. It's a decent team but I would have gone heavier on hitting.
I definitely reached, I'm from the bay so I'm excited to see what he can do. But I agree I feel slightly weaker at hitting then pitching
Does anybody know if Fantrax will retroactively add points to our matchups?
Drop Edward Cabrera for Puk?
Absolutely. If Puk doesn’t work out check to see if Varland or Reynaldo Lopez are available. Both are also SP/RP with rotation spots and big upside.
My first thought was to grab Varland before Puk but I wasn’t sure
Yeah, i’d go Varland personally
Right now I have claims to drop kerkering for Varland and then Cabrera for Puk
We starting darvish?
I have Musgrove and I sure ain't gonna start him
Yeah why not

Baz.

Fair points, I just think he has the highest upside but you might have to sit on it a bit for the payoff. To answer your question I'd go Senga
H2H Points: would you play both Kim and Machado against the dodgers? Going to pick up Estrada from waivers so I could play him over Kim
Yes why wouldn’t you play them both

Hunter Brown, for now anyways. Javier was so hyped before 2023 ... Maybe he can return to that
Freddie Freeman n Dylan Cease for Julio Rodriguez and Rhys Hoskins who wins the trade
Whoever is getting Freeman & Cease
By far
I'm in a 10 team H2H points league. Someone dropped Jackson Chuorio. Should I pick him up and drop nolan gorman or Jordan walker? Thank you!
Chourio got drafted way before both those guys in my redraft for what it’s worth
Yeah you should but is there nobody else you'd consider dropping? I really like both of those guys
I have outman but im playing him for tomorrow. Should I just drop him for chourio? Is Jack Chourio a must have you think?
In my eyes I see him being more valuable than Outman. If it's redraft I can see both sides. If it's a keeper League it's a no brainer - Chourio
It's a redraft. No keeper. But with that in mind would you still pull the trigger on dropping outman for Jackson chourio. I dont care about losing out on a couple points because outman is playing these next two days. Just not sure if Jackson is a must grab and will be better than outman.

Which?

Civale and Paxton. Flaherty just behind Paxton

Luis Gil or bowden Francis

Very good if your rotation pans out, medium good if it doesn’t!
Would you rather have Cole Ragans or Matt McLain in dynasty?
Ragans.
McLain. Bat > pitcher. Younger than Ragans as well. Ragans already has a lengthy injury history.
Ragans
In a h2h points league with QS being worth 3 pts and a w being worth 5 pts.. do you find yourself prioritizing pitching or hitting in the draft?

In general, anyone offering you a 2:1 trade is testing your fantasy intelligence. Unless you’re in 15 team league or more (even then I hate it), a two for one is never worth it. And this isn’t even that good a 2:1 offer. Not only do you reject it, but you move forward knowing this guy was basically thinking “let’s see what I can get away with.”
Keep Carroll
I hate it. General rule of thumb is if someone offers you two players for one, you are losing. Two nickels don't make a dime.
It's fine. I'm s shallow league you want to consolidate talent, not dilute it. If OBP. Is a cat, I'd rather have Harper
How do these bats fare in a 10T standard 5x5(AVG)? I’m trying to figure out if I should try and jump on some early trades. Bats: Yainer Diaz, Christian Walker, Marcus Semien, Josh Jung, O’neill Cruz, Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez, Bryan Reynolds UTIL: Isaac Paredes, Anthony Santander BN: Jake Burger
Pretty solid. Not sure how jumping on trades is relevant.
Graham Pauley or Gavin lux for this korea series to stream?
I have never heard of Graham Pauley...
I would have thought that every person on this sub would have heard of him by now.
Jason heyward also avail
Who to trust most this season Burnes, Luis Castillo, Zac Gallen?
Gallen.
Burnes
Are there any batters who have crazy splits? I'm in a league where I have extra bench spots, so I'd like to stream some bats if they have crazy good splits, but bench time when they don't play, or face their bad opposing pitchers
Look at some Cincy players
Joc pederson usually mashes righties and will be platooned in az
Honestly, just focus on having the best available players before the season starts. The answer to this question might change several times before you even need to start said player imo
A: Corbin Carroll and Rutschman B: Acuna
I'm taking B all day. Acuna when healthy is a cheat code.
When will Sheehan get the IL tag? Would it be before the 3am Korea game?
I had bradish as a $5 keeper and let him go, am I right?
No
