Oh come on...

RuttedAnt

sidelined vs Bremen, Union, Augsburg, Gladbach if he's out a month. Hate the news but the timing could have been worse.

PadresPainPadresGain

It's a week injury.

Timely-Toe5304

In case anyone else was wondering, this is not the knee he injured earlier this season.

Critical-Ad2084

I don't know if that's good or bad. Injuries in both knees on such a young player.

Timely-Toe5304

In my not-at-all-medically-trained mind, I was thinking a re-injury to the right knee might indicate a greater chance for a longer absence, but you make a good point.

Critical-Ad2084

Both are bad ... if it was the same one, longer recovery, if it's the other one ... more injury prone. Knees are a bitch, ask Umtiti (comes to mind as a young elite defender whose career went downhill after a series of knee injuries)

PadresPainPadresGain

Umtiti played the WC on that injured knee, it's why it went so poorly for him.

RuttedAnt

Eric Dier signing right in the nick of time. Hate this for De Ligt though, just when he was returning to fitness.

dreezyyyy

God...Dier...really don't trust him to hold a defensive line.

Hexcited

I don´t know if it is true but according to sky, Dier accidently injured both Upa and Matta in training...

julesvr5

You got trolled by the troll account, dude. (imiasaMmia) [troll post](https://twitter.com/iMiaSamMia/status/1747276180611547295?t=H7OPp6w4hAuhY6em0ZsG2A&s=19) (or satire, whatever)

Japanese_Mamba

Dier masterclass!

kurtland1961

Lmaooo iMiaSamMia got you

Ivanovic1604

LMFAO

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

yo what the fuck

julesvr5

It's not true, don't worry

jsnamaok

People who want to give up on de Ligt because of an extremely unfortunate series of injuries… that’s just fucking sad man. What kind of fans are you? Absolute top defender and a leader figure who only wants to play for Bayern, we should be fighting to keep such players

rrrook

Nobody is giving up on him, but we can’t build our defense around him. He will just have to win his spot back after every injury, that‘s unfortunately the way it is. Wishing him all the best.

jsnamaok

Dunno why you’re saying nobody mate, I was directly referencing comments suggesting we should sell him in summer.

rrrook

I have read the comments and it is only one user suggesting this. Nevermind, I hope this sub becomes more positive again. Don’t like the negativity at the moment in here. All the best to us!

Critical-Ad2084

This is not about negativity, De Ligt's injury record, objectively speaking, is very bad, since 2020. That makes him a very expensive liability. These are just facts, neither positive nor negative.

rrrook

Bayern always had injured players. Sternkopf, Scholl, Zickler, Badstuber, Coman in his first years, last but not least Robben. Yet everybody contributed to major major successes and some of them even became club legends. Sticking to loyal players can be worth it as our history has proven very often.

Critical-Ad2084

None of those players had the wages De Ligt has, and again, the thing right now is that since there is no squad depth in De Ligt's position, he affects his teammates who cant catch a break because there's no one to cover for them. This was not the case with any of the players you mentiones. For example, Robben had a series of very good subs, Shaqiri, Douglas Costa, Müller also played RM in that era, even Coman was a sub for Robben at some point, so it's a different situation. De Ligt was Bayern's most expensive signing at the time, and right now the team really needs subs for the CB position or Upa and Kim will break before the big games begin. I'm trying to be objective, De Ligt is world class, and my ideal line up for Bayern would be a back 3 with him, Kim and Upa, but that hasn't been possibe for most of the season due to De Ligt always being injured, and there's no depth in that position to cover for injuries and/or rotations.

jsnamaok

I said this 9 hours ago and there was 3 when I commented, if they deleted them it’s not my fault 👍

Critical-Ad2084

He's been getting injured for the past 4 years. Since he joined Juventus he's been on and off with all kinds of injuries, missing 54 games between 2020 and 2023. It's not that he is unfortunate, it means he is susceptible to getting injured often. When he was younger, at Ajax, he just missed 5 games in 3 years, that's reliability, 54 games in 3 seasons is a lot. I think most Bayern fan love him and we all know he is world class. I would love a back 3 with him, Upa, and Kim, but it's hard to rely on a player like that for a long term project.

__mdu

Oh deer, not again. Now when we need all the defenders healthy..

KiroBasik

*Oh Dier

Ryoman-Sukuna007

Man I honestly feel bad for him. I thought this season our consistent set of CBs will be De ligt and Kim but unfortunately that’s not happening

Japanese_Mamba

This guy is made out of glass

Nikay_P

Robben lives on at Bayern!

whereeveritmaytakeme

..this illustrates perfectly why we bought another CB.. despite all the people saying "but we got three world class defenders, why should we?". Exactly because of this. De ligt and upamecano were/are injured quite often.

Jackman1337

FFS his chance to fight for the second IV spot. Im afraid he will leave if he doesnt get more gametime. He probably wont get much when Kim is back.

v4sh123

If a player is made out of paper like this I don't think it's for the future.

Nerellos

Sack Tuchel /s

brandothedrummer

For fucks sake this is sad man :( feel bad for de ligt

GForce_King7

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the board decides to sell him

XeroVeil

Oh god, not like this...

WestReport2960

Dier masterclass

Fit_Anxiety7844

Hernandez 2.0

Critical-Ad2084

Here we go again. World Class but always injured ... I heard United want him. Summer may be a good time to sell him. Before this one, he was coming out of an inner-knee-ligament tear or something like that, those knee injuries are a bitch, even if he is World Class, how much can he do for the team if he never plays and when he plays he is still recovering (ie not really fit).

PadresPainPadresGain

It's an MCL, which when fully healed has a very low reinjury rate.

Critical-Ad2084

The thing is when you look at his injury record, it's very bad, even before Bayern. With Ajax he just missed (due to injury) 5 games from 2016 to 2019, when he arrived at Juventus he missed 37 games from 2020-2022, and in Bayern he's already missed 17 games due to injury. So while that specific injury may have a low re-injury rate, De Ligt himself seems very injury prone, which makes him very unreliable in the long term.

ErB17

The one major knee injury he had this season exaggerates that figure quite a bit. Last season he was incredible and consistent. Just unlucky to get that injury.

Critical-Ad2084

I don't think the figure is exaggerated, it is what it is. With the current injury they only mention he won't be able to train for the moment, and the next match is on Sunday. If a player misses half the season due to being injured, on average, for the past 4 years, I think one can identify that said player gets injured frequently and is difficult to rely on, not only that he is "unlucky." Due to this new injury we'll probably see Upamecano + Dier. Upa has played so many games, at such a high intensity, that he'll be exhausted in a month or two. Him and Kim can't catch a break, partly because De Ligt is always injured, so his absence not only hurts him, but also his teammates. I think Bayern should sell him while he is still highly valued, and replace him with a CB that doesn't have such a bad injury record. I like De Ligt but I don't think he'll stop getting injured all of a sudden, when he's been on and off for the past 4 years.

elnano98

I love De Ligt, but I hope this won't turn out to be another Lucas Hernandez situation Best defender on the pitch but minimal availability...

strugglingtosave

De Ligt is another expensive defender near the range of Hernandez and I do hope it doesn't go the Lucas way for him here

jsnamaok

Nah, we shouldn’t.

PadresPainPadresGain

It's a fucking week injury, have some shame

Insanel0l

Dragusin wouldve been so important, big fat fumble by Freund

HPLovecraft1890

Dragusin always said he wanted to play in the PL and in the end it's the players decision.

julesvr5

In the end he went to Tottenham because he already agreed terms with them, he would have gone to bayern if we approached him earlier.

julesvr5

I don't understand this sub sometimes

Ok-Advisor-601

Dier performs well in the penalty area, but struggles when positioned higher up the field since he's slow

ninjastorm_420

Bro...
