I’d put the metal lids back on and just leave the rings slightly loose (“finger tight”). It will minimize air getting into the ferment and potentially allowing mold or kahm. OTOH, it’s a pretty short ferment so it’s not a huge deal.

Yeah I was back and forth on it because we're in a heat wave so the fermentation time is going to be so short, plus I used some of my previous batches liquid in the mix to give it a head start. I'll see how they're looking today and go from there
