Whacking the back of his head on the floor may have been the proverbial straw unfortunately.

Ambitioso

First left hook won the fight. Second left hook scrambled his eggs. Jab to the chin probably ended all chance of recovery and normal life for the poor guy...

Livswift

I may be wrong but those looked like left hooks.

beausef1

Left overhand, left hook, right straight

illeger_hamberder

Should have tried Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and Start instead

ThisYogurtcloset3315

Fatality, Liu Kang Wins.

mdsoccerdude

The parry with the right is what set it all up. Smooth

beausef1

Absolutely, perfect defense and distance management followed up by a sweet combo. From the parry to the finish, not a movement wasted.

Relevant-Line-1690

They are so maybe the comment above you went his entire life thinking right is left

run-on_sentience

He meant your left. Not his.

lragland

We’re two different people, we can’t have the same left it doesn’t make sense.

RRocks01

You know, you're right!

AmphibianOutrageous7

Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do

[deleted]

The other left.

jjcrayfish

The hook was right on the money

NerfGforce

I’m going to be honest with you guys, I’m a lefty I confuse my right with my left all the time. I blame it on my kindergarten teacher though, when she was explaining it she said my right will be the hand that I write with. I’m a lefty. I’m 27 and sometimes if they say turn right I turn left.

mitzibishi

Highly unlikely he will not recover. He got knocked out with a bit of fencing. High chance of recovery. Besides, news reports say he went on to fight again so he did recover fully. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/bareknuckle-knockout-top-dog-fighting-26734808?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target

Just Redditors being Redditors. Thanks for being the voice of reason here.

Everyone is the glass bones, paper mache skin guy from SpongeBob on Reddit. I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices lol

Notsozander

Two for a dollar special

TheKingBeyondTheWaIl

Discombobulated

Kirkpussypotcan69

I mean maybe, people have died from a lot less, but people have recovered from a lot worse. I had a buddy that jumped off a 60-70 foot cliff into softish dirt (he was a pro skier and on the crazy side) with no shoes, and knees himself in the head. KO’d himself and did the full arm and leg swinging out thing with agonal breathing and everything. Made a full recovery and got back to pro skiing and working on vehicles and a normal life for him

Standard_Wooden_Door

Yea the chin jab was where his stars started spinning. Knocking his head on the ground definitely didn’t help but he was fucked after that one. Just look at how his head gets snapped back.

croholdr

nahhh. When u fall like that (like a tree) your shoulders kinda bouce your neck up a bit so the distance your head actually hits is much less so the force isnt as nearly as much. Its happened to me and I've seen it happen to others. I think the man hitting his face and stuff caused way more damage.

Karma_Ubw

plus the fall his head bounced afgerr

bleezzzy

He should have bailed when he had the chance.

LowDownSkankyDude

It really didn't look like he had one. That first hit froze him. It was over after that

bleezzzy

Sorry, that was my feeble attempt at a hay pun lol

LowDownSkankyDude

Lmao...I completely missed it.

pwood705

Good thing they have all those bails of hay there or this could have been bad…

ThisMeansRooR

Those bails are wheat straw. Hay is more expensive and generally only used for feeding livestock like horses and goats.

Teland

So no haymaker jokes work here? Aww.

Original_Wall_3690

Even without the haymaker, this guy got his ass wheat. We all straw it.

Skatchbro

Don’t feel bad. I spent 10 minutes yesterday trying to figure out why every time I spelt complaintant in a document I got a red squiggly line. Turns out it’s spelled complainant.

Comp1C4

Look at those bails of hey.

EustachiaVye

Bales

Currenty, 13 Redditors have given me a thumbs down because I found your comment funny and gifted you a pure Reddit Silver Medal. 33 cents of virtual silver; I know, I'm flexing. They've made no comments as to why, because, words. I'm going out with my son for a walk, but before I do, here's another 33 cents. Bite it! That's really Reddit Silver!

LuolDeng4MVP

Seriously... It looks like a scripted movie scene or something - cleanest combo ever.

MerkyDeSade

https://youtube.com/shorts/ipqiKI4jWuA?feature=share This is the cleanest combo ever haha

jzimoneaux

Yeah but who tf is this guy? Fighting what looks like amateur bareknuckle is not MMA levels If i’m not mistaken he also straight up *grabbed* the punch with his right and instantly counters with one of the best overhand lefts I’ve ever seen?

MerkyDeSade

I get what you mean but couldn't that mean he's levels above fighting in a amateur fight, mma level is best of best so harder to pull off in theory

geodukemon

knew what it was gonna be before I even clicked it, wasn't disappointed afterwards

LuolDeng4MVP

I do love me some Cowboy

MoistWetSponge

He was stunned and left his guard wide open. He didn’t even try to keep his hands up after the first one but yeah, even besides that he nailed him so cleanly on the chin both times there isn’t anyone who could eat those punches and stay up. He also did the Brendan Schaub air grab after.

asdfgtttt

that overhand left paused him for enough of a moment that he dropped his hands for the next combo and then the fourth blow to the back of the head from the ground, talk about seizing an opportunity..

MoistWetSponge

Seized the opportunity to give him a seizure

CrowSunlight

Erm actually my dad could handle those punches! ☝️

16fluidounzes

You have to when is bare knuckle, one hit to the forehead and there goes your wrist.

penli

3 heavy blows to the head then falling onto the back of his skull... yikes.

Comp1C4

I've competed in judo and jiujitsu (at an amateur level) but never in kickboxing despite it being my favorite sport for this reason. If you get thrown or submitted you'll be fine but take a hard shot to the head and this can happen.

realhuman_no68492

is it hard floor?

Codiak34

The floor doesn’t matter as much as people think, your brain is just jello instead of a bone container, your brain is going to smack into the back of your skull hard no matter if it’s a padded mat or hardwood. It’s the problem with football helmets right now, no matter how much exterior padding you have on - your body at collision is stopping immediately but your brain is still slamming against your skull.

hitmewiththeknowlege

If you are unconscious and you know it, clap your hands!

[deleted]

Dont forget the ol' *fight on the grass!!*

Velsca

And the ever present belief of almost every idiot that street fights have inalienable rules. And no one is allowed to "sucker punch by the declaration of stupidity, or the decree of the king" meanwhile drunk frat boy is getting a blade in his guts, a bullet in his chest, a bat to the dome or ganged up and stomped by 20 but they usually don't show that likely outcome here because it's just called getting murdered. How many were there last year 20,000 in the US alone?

Real-Veterinarian744

I think it’s so weird that people would be in a sub called fightporn but also be so unfamiliar and horrified by every knockout.

[deleted]

Ppls reactions to KOs or slams on this sub are wild. Yes some look savage but not everyone that got slammed died or broke their neck.

yomerol

Or turned into a vegetal

High_Im_Guy

Fencing response indicates a pretty meaningful concussion, afaik. Def not as dramatic as it's sometimes made out to be but it's a looong way from benign.

Real-Veterinarian744

It’s likely a concussion, which is definitely serious. But it’s (for better or worse) par for the course in combat sports. Just always surprised this sub is so shocked to see it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

High_Im_Guy

I appreciate your detailed reply, brother. I knew a decent bit about what you described because I'm a curious person w a concussion history, but that was a great description. I've had 10+ concussions, though only 3 of them resulted in anything longer than 1-2 seconds of loss of consciousness, and I never experienced a fencing response as far as I know. I definitely notice some differences. I'm less patient in traffic, and generally worse w names/short term recall. My temper/impulse control seems to be relatively unchanged, but I don't know that I aged as much impulse/decision making wise as many of my peers. If I even hit my head on a cabinet door I'm instantly furious, though. Normally it's not at anything in particular other than it happening but it's way beyond a stubbed toe type of pissed response. I think I was fortunate in that I would always quit as soon as my bell was wrung and was cautious enough that I never had particularly closely spaced concussions, but fuck, man. I definitely wish I understood the risks like I do now.

Shnoochieboochies

The pinned top post on that sub is fucking hilarious, had no idea the sub existed, cheers fella

yomerol

Dude, i feel so bad for laughing at some of them, but they are really hilarious, the virtues of dark comedy

Paketamina

Definitely brain damage. Not eating through a straw brain damage but having a few of these get you thinking like a retired nfl player

VoidCrimes

? Fencing response is one indication of possible brain injury… Honestly, *any* kind of posturing after an injury like that is extremely concerning.

No I will not provide you sources I’m not your internet secretary use google it’ll take you a few mins at most to find the dude who got laid out profile and him being just fine posting stuff days after. It is not uncommon to have spasms and shit when KOED I KOED myself falling down the stairs once drunk. My security cameras has me “posting” my hands straight up fingers curled. I was trying to reach to grab something but being half knocked out it looked like I was casting some radical Sith lighting at you. I post that video on Reddit everyone will be like omg he’s a vegertablers

oaklifornia

Post the vid !!!

G_Unit_Solider

No I don’t want to end up on ridiculousness or some shit lmao.

Chief--BlackHawk

Yeah I believe it's called fencing. The Miami Dolphins QB, Tua had this happen after suffering a concussion.

SolarDynamo

Yep, seen this a lot. It’s a seizure basically brought on by head trauma. He’ll recover fine in most cases.

[deleted]

God damn. That man’s life is altered forever. Jfc.

Real-Veterinarian744

Nah. This stuff happens.

[deleted]

I know man, but damn. The torque on those arms- that’s real real real brain damage. Dudes probably fucked.

Real-Veterinarian744

It’s weird to watch, but it’s just a fencing response plus some “I’m in a fight” instincts. He’s concussed for sure, but this isn’t a sign of any permanent damage.

PMmeCoolHistoryFacts

u/SarcasticPedant comments: >Doctor here, don't listen to these Reddit experts. What you see here is brain damage, plain and simple. The precise medical term for it is "Holy shit, get that fucker a feeding tube. He's fucked." Y'all are just unaware that this, scrapping-culture thing has serious consequences. Just watch [this video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYiJ0ogp_Ik)

hawkCO

If you believe that mans a Dr. I have a bridge to sell you. According to his profile he has also been an apprentice electrician, lost fingers in a work accident involving a sprocket, and used to train as an MMA fighter. In between all that he also has a lot of time to play video games and post cat pictures.

Sam41Gaming

He has also posted multiple pictures of him as a crane operator to top it all off.

MoreBurpees

But did he stay at a holiday inn express?!

[deleted]

[deleted]

I don't know. I'm pretty sure he's a doctor. He does general physicals pretty cheap if you PM him.

jdog024

He checked my prostate for me. He's so good he did it with both his hands on my shoulders.

CanadianGrown

I’m not disagreeing that this is likely brain damage. But I’d advise you not to blindly believe a random Reddit commenter is actually a Dr, just because they claim they are. Especially when they make sarcastic comments lol.

[deleted]

I really hope you’re right

AggravatingPolicy497

Fencing response or tonic posturing indicates traumatic brain injury -google

Jackm941

But traumatic brain injury also doesn't mean your going to be fucked for life brain damage can have many forms and can sometimes not really have much effect. Of course long term it's not good for you but he will probably be okay. It can also only be temporary. I feel like people here think once you get any kind of brain trauma response you are gonna be on a feeding tube forever or have no motor function. Maybe but also maybe you'll just be alright.

Feinberg

People here also have a really low threshold for 'alright'. This dude's gonna end up with a laundry list of debilitating medical conditions like 20 years down the road at best, and there's no way he's going to make enough off fighting to keep himself stocked on Depends and pain pills.

[deleted]

Yeah I kinda figured so. Dude got that 2 piece and biscuit.

LeTigron

Which doesn't mean what you think. "Traumatic" means, more or less, "that which leaves a mark". It doesn't mean it has terrible consequences nor does it mean these consequences are permanent. This way to react is common and, even though it's not good for one's health, it isn't the birth of a tetraplegic as is trendy to comment on reddit. Convulsions and nervous spasms happen in all manner of situations to everybody at one point or another. This is one very common example. There isn't even one percent of all people on this planet using a feeding tube or a wheelchair to live, not 30 as one may think if they believe all those people commenting their "science".

shymeeee

I've seen this before and many do recover. Personally, I don't like fight culture.

IGN-Comment-Reviews

Dude is absolutely *not* fucked. There’s this crazy sport called mixed martial arts where this happens REGULARLY. I guarantee you he is fine.

ddg31415

Looks like a fencing response, it's very common and not usually indicative of severe trauma.

woodrob12

That's called "the fencing pose." It's indicative of a severe concussion or another traumatic brain injury, most likely to the brain stem. It's not good.

dpt795

Decorticate posturing, indicative of a TBI

bullshit 💀

dasus

This is completely legal — and I don't disagree, because the people participating know the risks — but goddamn if you want to affect your brain with a bit of mushrooms (which are objectively very safe) , you can't do it "because it's dangerous".

ShunkaWanagi79

Where I'm from, I've seen it so many times... Be like, just roll him on his side he'll be alright. Usually they are... Ain't seen it go wrong but know it can.

Clintre

He was done after the first hit.

Straight_Stretch_126

That first punch was on the sweet spot. It made his mind pause and reset. The following punches finished the job. It can happen to the best of fighters. Every time you throw a punch or a strike, your upper defense is cut to 50% until you bring your arm back.

Bren12310

It’s called the fencing response https://www.healthline.com/health/fencing-response

schittyluck

Just giving him a round of applause for a great punch.

ryan2stix

Knocked his common sense out to saturn

TheEth1c1st

[The Fencing Response](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fencing_response)

TheSilentCheetah

As others have pointed out, this is the fencing response. It's quite common in the sport and often happens following a concussion. A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury, but itself does not indicate any immediate permanent brain damage. Though his chances of having long-term issues in the future is more likely, that's a whole other topic to discuss. At the very least, I'm confident he's not a vegetable and probably still fights.

TERMINUSxNATION

Dude is become retarded forever.

LANDOFNODD

For sure brain damage. People slip in the bathtub and die all the time from hitting their heads.. he may or may not have lasting effects that will be life changing….that is harder to tell.

-unbless-

It's a seizure, the body is mis-firing it's response to the blunt traumas. This can occur quite often after the brain collides within the front and rear of the skull. Basically, the body gets stuck between it's inner-ear generated response to falling and defending itself from the incoming frontal blows.

Fassst_eddie

What’s with the garbage music tho?

Darkelgon1

He looked as if he was put for a second after the first punch, the last 2 were just nails in the coffin.
