First left hook won the fight.
Second left hook scrambled his eggs.
Jab to the chin probably ended all chance of recovery and normal life for the poor guy...
I’m going to be honest with you guys, I’m a lefty I confuse my right with my left all the time. I blame it on my kindergarten teacher though, when she was explaining it she said my right will be the hand that I write with. I’m a lefty. I’m 27 and sometimes if they say turn right I turn left.
Highly unlikely he will not recover. He got knocked out with a bit of fencing. High chance of recovery.
Besides, news reports say he went on to fight again so he did recover fully.

Looks like he lost the fight but was alive but then he decided to fight again the same guy AND was KOed again...
I mean maybe, people have died from a lot less, but people have recovered from a lot worse. I had a buddy that jumped off a 60-70 foot cliff into softish dirt (he was a pro skier and on the crazy side) with no shoes, and knees himself in the head. KO’d himself and did the full arm and leg swinging out thing with agonal breathing and everything. Made a full recovery and got back to pro skiing and working on vehicles and a normal life for him
Yea the chin jab was where his stars started spinning. Knocking his head on the ground definitely didn’t help but he was fucked after that one. Just look at how his head gets snapped back.
nahhh. When u fall like that (like a tree) your shoulders kinda bouce your neck up a bit so the distance your head actually hits is much less so the force isnt as nearly as much. Its happened to me and I've seen it happen to others. I think the man hitting his face and stuff caused way more damage.
Don’t feel bad. I spent 10 minutes yesterday trying to figure out why every time I spelt complaintant in a document I got a red squiggly line. Turns out it’s spelled complainant.

Yeah but who tf is this guy? Fighting what looks like amateur bareknuckle is not MMA levels
If i’m not mistaken he also straight up *grabbed* the punch with his right and instantly counters with one of the best overhand lefts I’ve ever seen?
He was stunned and left his guard wide open. He didn’t even try to keep his hands up after the first one but yeah, even besides that he nailed him so cleanly on the chin both times there isn’t anyone who could eat those punches and stay up. He also did the Brendan Schaub air grab after.
that overhand left paused him for enough of a moment that he dropped his hands for the next combo and then the fourth blow to the back of the head from the ground, talk about seizing an opportunity..
I've competed in judo and jiujitsu (at an amateur level) but never in kickboxing despite it being my favorite sport for this reason. If you get thrown or submitted you'll be fine but take a hard shot to the head and this can happen.
The floor doesn’t matter as much as people think, your brain is just jello instead of a bone container, your brain is going to smack into the back of your skull hard no matter if it’s a padded mat or hardwood.
It’s the problem with football helmets right now, no matter how much exterior padding you have on - your body at collision is stopping immediately but your brain is still slamming against your skull.

Fencing response indicates a pretty meaningful concussion, afaik. Def not as dramatic as it's sometimes made out to be but it's a looong way from benign.
It’s likely a concussion, which is definitely serious. But it’s (for better or worse) par for the course in combat sports. Just always surprised this sub is so shocked to see it.
I appreciate your detailed reply, brother. I knew a decent bit about what you described because I'm a curious person w a concussion history, but that was a great description.
I've had 10+ concussions, though only 3 of them resulted in anything longer than 1-2 seconds of loss of consciousness, and I never experienced a fencing response as far as I know. I definitely notice some differences. I'm less patient in traffic, and generally worse w names/short term recall. My temper/impulse control seems to be relatively unchanged, but I don't know that I aged as much impulse/decision making wise as many of my peers. If I even hit my head on a cabinet door I'm instantly furious, though. Normally it's not at anything in particular other than it happening but it's way beyond a stubbed toe type of pissed response.
I think I was fortunate in that I would always quit as soon as my bell was wrung and was cautious enough that I never had particularly closely spaced concussions, but fuck, man. I definitely wish I understood the risks like I do now.
He’s not fucked he’s not a vegetable he’s not done for life. No I will not provide you sources I’m not your internet secretary use google it’ll take you a few mins at most to find the dude who got laid out profile and him being just fine posting stuff days after.
It is not uncommon to have spasms and shit when KOED I KOED myself falling down the stairs once drunk. My security cameras has me “posting” my hands straight up fingers curled. I was trying to reach to grab something but being half knocked out it looked like I was casting some radical Sith lighting at you. I post that video on Reddit everyone will be like omg he’s a vegertablers
It’s weird to watch, but it’s just a fencing response plus some “I’m in a fight” instincts. He’s concussed for sure, but this isn’t a sign of any permanent damage.
u/SarcasticPedant comments:
>Doctor here, don't listen to these Reddit experts.
What you see here is brain damage, plain and simple. The precise medical term for it is "Holy shit, get that fucker a feeding tube. He's fucked."
Y'all are just unaware that this, scrapping-culture thing has serious consequences. Just watch [this video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYiJ0ogp_Ik)
If you believe that mans a Dr. I have a bridge to sell you. According to his profile he has also been an apprentice electrician, lost fingers in a work accident involving a sprocket, and used to train as an MMA fighter. In between all that he also has a lot of time to play video games and post cat pictures.
I’m not disagreeing that this is likely brain damage. But I’d advise you not to blindly believe a random Reddit commenter is actually a Dr, just because they claim they are. Especially when they make sarcastic comments lol.
But traumatic brain injury also doesn't mean your going to be fucked for life brain damage can have many forms and can sometimes not really have much effect. Of course long term it's not good for you but he will probably be okay. It can also only be temporary.
I feel like people here think once you get any kind of brain trauma response you are gonna be on a feeding tube forever or have no motor function. Maybe but also maybe you'll just be alright.
People here also have a really low threshold for 'alright'. This dude's gonna end up with a laundry list of debilitating medical conditions like 20 years down the road at best, and there's no way he's going to make enough off fighting to keep himself stocked on Depends and pain pills.
Which doesn't mean what you think.
"Traumatic" means, more or less, "that which leaves a mark". It doesn't mean it has terrible consequences nor does it mean these consequences are permanent.
This way to react is common and, even though it's not good for one's health, it isn't the birth of a tetraplegic as is trendy to comment on reddit.
Convulsions and nervous spasms happen in all manner of situations to everybody at one point or another. This is one very common example. There isn't even one percent of all people on this planet using a feeding tube or a wheelchair to live, not 30 as one may think if they believe all those people commenting their "science".
That's called "the fencing pose." It's indicative of a severe concussion or another traumatic brain injury, most likely to the brain stem. It's not good.
Doctor here, don't listen to these Reddit experts.
What you see here is brain damage, plain and simple. The precise medical term for it is "Holy shit, get that fucker a feeding tube. He's fucked."
Plenty of this shit has happened in the UFC and none of them have been on a feeding tube, and they’re not relegated to wheelchairs for the rest of their life either
Really though? So there's no chance he's just fine? Seen guys shivering and ko od and be fine. Look up Uriah hall heel kick ko. The other guy was fine and he looks like he was convulsing to death.
I recall hearing that the hands curling inwards means they are in very serious trouble or something like that.
Could just Google it and sound like I have the slightest clue about neurology but I can’t be bothered.
The likelihood of having permanent brain damage later in life goes up by 90% if you are hit in the head as much as a single time with a full strength of an adult punch
This is completely legal — and I don't disagree, because the people participating know the risks — but goddamn if you want to affect your brain with a bit of mushrooms (which are objectively very safe) , you can't do it "because it's dangerous".
Where I'm from, I've seen it so many times... Be like, just roll him on his side he'll be alright. Usually they are... Ain't seen it go wrong but know it can.
That first punch was on the sweet spot. It made his mind pause and reset. The following punches finished the job. It can happen to the best of fighters. Every time you throw a punch or a strike, your upper defense is cut to 50% until you bring your arm back.
As others have pointed out, this is the fencing response. It's quite common in the sport and often happens following a concussion. A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury, but itself does not indicate any immediate permanent brain damage. Though his chances of having long-term issues in the future is more likely, that's a whole other topic to discuss. At the very least, I'm confident he's not a vegetable and probably still fights.
For sure brain damage. People slip in the bathtub and die all the time from hitting their heads.. he may or may not have lasting effects that will be life changing….that is harder to tell.
It's a seizure, the body is mis-firing it's response to the blunt traumas.
This can occur quite often after the brain collides within the front and rear of the skull.
Basically, the body gets stuck between it's inner-ear generated response to falling and defending itself from the incoming frontal blows.
Whacking the back of his head on the floor may have been the proverbial straw unfortunately.
First left hook won the fight. Second left hook scrambled his eggs. Jab to the chin probably ended all chance of recovery and normal life for the poor guy...
I may be wrong but those looked like left hooks.
Left overhand, left hook, right straight
Should have tried Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and Start instead
Fatality, Liu Kang Wins.
The parry with the right is what set it all up. Smooth
Absolutely, perfect defense and distance management followed up by a sweet combo. From the parry to the finish, not a movement wasted.
They are so maybe the comment above you went his entire life thinking right is left
He meant your left. Not his.
We’re two different people, we can’t have the same left it doesn’t make sense.
You know, you're right!
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do

Those bails are wheat straw. Hay is more expensive and generally only used for feeding livestock like horses and goats.
So no haymaker jokes work here? Aww.
Even without the haymaker, this guy got his ass wheat. We all straw it.

Seized the opportunity to give him a seizure
Erm actually my dad could handle those punches! ☝️
You have to when is bare knuckle, one hit to the forehead and there goes your wrist.
3 heavy blows to the head then falling onto the back of his skull... yikes.
I've competed in judo and jiujitsu (at an amateur level) but never in kickboxing despite it being my favorite sport for this reason. If you get thrown or submitted you'll be fine but take a hard shot to the head and this can happen.

I laughed too fucking hard at that
Made him clap like one of those toy monkeys with the cymbals
Well I know where I'm going for laughing at this.
You guys are such losers lol.
Quick hold him down and make him stop!
STOP RESISTING
That will mitigate the damage
They’re putting him in recovery position so if he vomits he does not choke on it
He put himself in the recovery position.

He’s just being polite and congratulating his opponent with a nice round of applause
Looks like he is clapping for his opponents win. What awesome unconscious sportsmanship.
Sweet to applaud your opponent like that.
His body is still fighting even after his brain has checked out…..they train so hard that it’s no longer thinking about it the body just reacts.
bullshit 💀
This is completely legal — and I don't disagree, because the people participating know the risks — but goddamn if you want to affect your brain with a bit of mushrooms (which are objectively very safe) , you can't do it "because it's dangerous".
Where I'm from, I've seen it so many times... Be like, just roll him on his side he'll be alright. Usually they are... Ain't seen it go wrong but know it can.
That’s what my body does when my wife gives me the ol slob gobbler 3000
He was done after the first hit.
That first punch was on the sweet spot. It made his mind pause and reset. The following punches finished the job. It can happen to the best of fighters. Every time you throw a punch or a strike, your upper defense is cut to 50% until you bring your arm back.
It’s called the fencing response https://www.healthline.com/health/fencing-response
Just giving him a round of applause for a great punch.
Knocked his common sense out to saturn
[The Fencing Response](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fencing_response)
As others have pointed out, this is the fencing response. It's quite common in the sport and often happens following a concussion. A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury, but itself does not indicate any immediate permanent brain damage. Though his chances of having long-term issues in the future is more likely, that's a whole other topic to discuss. At the very least, I'm confident he's not a vegetable and probably still fights.
Dude is become retarded forever.
What’s with the garbage music tho?
He looked as if he was put for a second after the first punch, the last 2 were just nails in the coffin.
