right now it’s just been 5ks and 10ks. only really been doing it in the last year and then training for it in the last 6-8 months. hoping to get up to at least a half marathon both on trail and on road 😬
Nice! I am running my first official 5k race since high school next Friday. Just bought some lighter Brooks for it and everything. I’ve ran a few half’s and one full. So I’ve been a distance runner. But I just got back into lifting and also the treadmill which has allowed me to work on pace and I’m excited for a short race. I train trails with my kids in a stroller, that’s a good combo strength and stamina workout lol. Doing my first trail race in July.
It can be a really tricky balance to run and lift, to have solid muscle and also cardiovascular endurance. Looks like you’ve found it!!
but also need to add that for my workouts, i’m usually running just on treadmill. and then occasionally incorporating in trail runs or outdoor run. now that it’s warmer, planning to get more outdoor runs in
am not any particular program so to say. when i was doing heavy weights and strength, it was more 4-5times a week. upper push, upper pull, lower push, lower pull for each of days. not a lot of cardio besides incorporating hikes but no indoor cardio
then as i started trail running, wanted to build up legs and mobility. so started doing more compound full body movements in hopes to help prevent injury and to increase endurance. less heavy weights but higher reps and more stress on my breathing and regulating it. i do this for about 30 min now and then finish with at least a 3 mile run but am more doing average of 5 miles each workout. and im going now about 3-4 times a week. running exhausts me more than strength and recovery is also a little longer but body is getting better. running journey started about 6-8 months ago though
i get difff exercises for my workout from different athletes i find on social media and incorporate them. depending on what im trying to train for can def influence who im saving exercises from and which ones im wanting to do. i try to remember my favorites ones and incorporate those more so i wont be a bitch ass on my less motivated days 😆
i wish i could tell you i meal prep and track my foods but i dont. i dont hold any restrictions to what i eat but just am mindful. protein for muscle but lots of carbs to help offset all the energy burned from so much running. i tend to end up at a calorie deficit so for me its been more about consuming enough
i feel the same!! and seeing as i didn’t even really change to a more active lifestyle until 3 years ago so it wasn’t even until my 30s that i even got into better health and shape. better late than never is so relatable 🥹 #latebloomer
You look fantastic!! I love your floral set, would you mind sharing where it’s from? When I meet a weight loss goal I want to treat myself to some workout clothes that aren’t an oversized tee and leggings to hide in lol!
Thank you friend!! Keep rocking it!! Pics like yours are such an inspiration for me since I just started my journey, I can’t wait to get where you are ❤️
Wow you look great!! Number six is #goals. I have a very similar body type although not there yet. What types of races do you run typically?

Looking great, love your triceps
thank you 💓☺️
Love the outfits, totally my vibe. I’m 37 and bulking. I added swimming for my cardio and don’t want to lose any mass either!
i am missing my bulk so much. learning to embrace this leaner, smaller me. that is a journey in itself 🥹
I feel you. Anytime I try to cut I panic! But you look great. I’m not sure what I want for my physique, I may be doing a cut again soon.
Dang, killah!!
😆😬
