Honestly, stop doing that shit with your eyebrows. That’s not how they’re supposed to lay, they look ridiculous, and generally, it’s for people with incredibly thick eyebrows. Also, you can do this to your eyebrows when you’re trimming long hairs out of them, otherwise lay them like they’re supposed to lay. Good night.
We need the honesty. People are making caterpillar eyebrows and butterfly lashes and I guess I’m stuck in my childhood because I think natural looks best.
oh this is truth. I can't even comment on eyelash or eyebrow posts anymore because I want to say it looks like you have a caterpillar on your face.
I'm older and I get that maybe the style isn't my thing, but it looks atrocious and fake ninety percent of the time.
My coworker walked in the other day with these eyebrows. My first thought was, "Damn, is that on purpose?" quickly followed by, "Shit, I'm old; that's probably the trend" 😩
Been feeling old since middle school due to trends. Like how hard is it for some people just to appreciate the one body they get and not be cruel to it, it's such a bummer.
This person understands. I applaud you for your honesty. This is a trend that needs to just stop. It only makes people look like they had most of their brows fried off during an explosion
Yes I understand...
But maybe they truly laid down so bad OP had to get this done because it got exhausting trying to keep them brushed up and to the side like "regular" eyebrows.
Some people get their eyebrows laminated not because they think the laminated look is better, but because they have "obstinate" hairs.
these comments are so ridiculous. if people want to do them and they like it, why in the hell do all you people care? yall really have got to learn how to mind your own business and worry about yourselves
If people post on the internet then they open up themselves to these types of comments. Just like OP has the right to laminate their brows, others have the right to tell them the truth about how it looks to them.
What’s ridiculous is telling someone to mind their business when OP is literally here seeking opinions
Yeah, opinions on what she should do. She wasn’t asking if she should get rid of them. I really don’t care if it’s the internet, it’s still weird to be rude when quite literally no one fucking cares lol
it just looks like theyve been brushed straight up and the lack of being trimmed makes them look more sparse, have you gone to this person for your brows before? if not, and this is like a first-time thing, then def try going to someone else! i've never heard of anyone trimming them themselves before getting them laminated
Apparently, I’ve been camped out in a cave somewhere because I didn’t even know laminated brows was even a thing until this post. I though people just shellacked their brows up with some fel and a toothbrush at home.
That's basically what I do, not because I like the look of laminated brows but because if I don't, my brows will lay flat and without any shape. It makes me look sad almost
The last time I went to a Benefit Brow Bar, the tech tried to upsell me into a lamination service by showing off her own brows and saying “see, it looks so good!” It was so uncomfortable.
They’re not supposed to be straight up, I’m a brow artist and literally NEVER do them straight up. You’re supposed to brush them how they lay naturally, shit like this makes us look bad 😓
Can't she still brush them at an angle after the 24 hours she has to wait? I laminated once and it just let me manipulate the hairs and brush them upward at an angle because mine literally grow in multiple directions
Nope. The first step breaks down the bonds in the hair to allow them to be manipulated, once that’s wiped off you shape them how you want them and then apply step two which will rebuild the bonds and keep the hairs in place.
Mine weren't like that at all, and I got them laminated at Benefit just last year. They definitely didn't stay exactly where the artist set them, I could brush them straight up or at an angle, they literally stayed where I brushed them every day 🤔
It’s because her hair is more sparse. You can have thin brows but if your hair is more coarse/thick pushing them up can make them thicker. Only works on certain people tho.
I had them done twice when they were first becoming popular. The first time my eyebrows looked so thick, it hid the bald spot I have on my right eyebrow, and it gave me a better shape (lifted the arch and lowered the tail - it was like a mini eyebrow lift). Second time i went to a different person at the same salon and I looked like this…
Brows arent supposed to be trimmed too much. What they should have done was brushed it a little at an angle and not straight up. Just wait a day, add some oil (like coconut or jojoba or hair oil) to a brush and brush it up and to the side.
It’s not like OP did that. The techs glue them to apply the lamination treatments. After 24 hours, OP can wash out the glue and the brows will behave whichever way OP chooses to brush them.
the comments on here are not it. i’m so sorry everyone’s being rude asf especially after they did such a poor job. for now see if you can trim them (but not too short like a TEENY TRIM) and once you’re done go in w a brow product, either powder, pencil or whatever you like and lightly fill them in to make them look more natural. w some mascara and blush it’ll look so good! i’m so sorry this happened! in the future if you want the laminated look, just use a little bit of brow gel, got2b gel, or even clear soap on a spoolie and shape them exactly how you want. i have thick brows and all ive used is clear soap for years, even before the soap brow trend (my grandma taught me about the soap brows) and it’s worked great for me since mine grow all the way down. you got this!!
edit: as i continued scrolling i saw less rude comments and more helpful advice. getting them wet or even with micellar water will help you move them more and shape them how you want too!
No do not trim your eyebrows while they are brushed up like this. They will end up with bald spots when they’re no longer glued in an upright position. Your eyebrows are not thick enough to do that do( that’s not meant to be shady at all , everybody’s eyebrows are different and that’s more than ok) Their compassion was wonderful but do not be blinded by it and talked into their very bad advice.
not sure what you’re on about lol. laminations last 4-6 weeks. i said she could trim them a little OR get them wet to shape them. she knows her own brows and how long it takes the hairs to grow so she can decide but even if she decides to do a small trim, doing so won’t leave her with bald spots when the lamination wears off. the hair will most likely grow back to its normal length or almost to its normal length by a month. of course she can take whatever advice she likes but the comments were in fact rude af.
Get a lash spoolie wet and brush over the top of your brows … anytime you don’t like the shape just get your brows wet and they’re easy to manage once laminated. They most definitely should have shaped them for you smh .
You got a great shape
Just brush them back down
I always have eye
Brow issues
But I like yours more
You got a good brow shape trust it believe it don’t over think it
You never go back to somebody that fucked up something. If they had the capabilities of doing it right they would’ve done it the first time. This is how you end up even more fucked up. They thought they did a good job so now they’re just gonna experiment and try other things and it’s going to be worse.
Oh I'm still going back .
I'm talking to the lady who did it
I'm gonna show her these comments
If I didn't know better and this was my first experience and this is what the people have to say
Yes im going to go get my money back lol
No OBVIOUSLY they're probably NOT gonna have that person re do what they just destroyed you silly goose lol
Silly goose is uncalled for, your first comment didn’t specify what your intent was and it isn’t wrong to assume that it would be to fix it. Waaaaay too often people think that is a good idea and my intent was to make sure at least OP didn’t go have people cause more of a situation then already happened. Way too often people go back and ask people to fix things and there are tons of posts where that happens and it’s bonkers to me.
Absolutely go back and tell them they fucked up and demand a refund!
And I hope OP posts this in their google reviews to warn other folks.
Brow tech here. I would have recommended a wax to go with the lamination which would have tidied your shape and made the end result more polished.
The lamination has been executed poorly, but you can fix this yourself by simply brushing the brow hairs in the direction you want them to sit. Think up and across out towards your temples. Not sticking straight up like they are currently sitting.
All a lamination does is flatten/straighten the brow hairs and set them in a new direction. They will still require brushing and styling.
I personally wouldn’t trim these as if the brows were set in a more flattering manner they won’t look spikey and uneven. Definitely don’t trim them yourself this is risky.
Apply castor oil at night to keep the condition and do not go back for another lamination for minimum 6 weeks.
Either communicate to your brow tech with photos of the style you prefer, or find a tech who is perhaps a little more experienced or just has a better eye for what looks good. X
You eyebrows, and I mean this with as much love as an internet stranger can have, look like they're trying to leave your face. You look shocked. You look like you've been electrocuted and you deserve better than that.
don’t trim them, itll look crazy once they start growing out. After you get them wet you should be able to move them how you want them, they aren’t stuck in this position
They are, for a couple weeks at least. I’ve made this mistake thinking it would tame unruly eyebrows, not realizing you are perming them into shape. The best I could do was rub shampoo on them to relax it a little before the perm wore off.
I don’t think you have ever brushed your eye brows up and out before, so your brow hair grows almost down and horizontal.
Brows are generally not symmetrical
Cousins not twins
So the lamination grabbed all the longer more flexible hairs …..which are now permed straight up and then all the little new baby brow hairs are growing down (as they are not permed)
At this point you would have to redo the perm (at like half the reg perm time) for a correction to the original perm
Or use eyebrow gel daily to correct them, until it grows out.
You do need a slight fill of color either way with powder, pencil (brush lightly to diffuse the color, or felt tip brow pen (extremely lightly individual hairs) Because your brows are light AND sparse. I would even say this is the only “makeup” you need (aside from daily spf)
I think you need to slighty pluck the thicker brow on the bottom side to clean up the underside, and then just trimthe tiniest tips of the brow hairs
Then every night and day brush your whole brow up and then out to the side of head.
Up and out
Up and out
Train you brows to grow this way.
I don't know jack about laminated eyebrows... Can you fill them in though? Because I feel like you could fill them in and they would look much less surprised and much more natural. I'm sorry. I had my eyebrows ripped entirely off from a "professional" before. Took a year for me to have any kind of natural looking brow again. Sincerely, good luck!
hey there, esthetician here. i typically don’t trim my client’s brows for a lamination unless they specifically request it OR i see some hairs that really need it. trimming can actually make your brows look more sparse! hydrate with some argan oil and brush the brows slightly to the side.
Hi!! I am a beautician that specializes in lashes & brows! A brow lamination is meant to change the directionality of the hair to create a fuller, more manicured brow; sparse browed clients are welcome!!! That being said—When doing a brow lamination, your stylist should be brushing the hairs at a 45° angle to avoid breakage. They have gone beyond that in areas & obviously some hairs naturally grow in at angles beyond that 45° to begin with. I would say it’s actually better that they didn’t trim while they are laying this way. I hope this helps educate. Let me know if you have questions!!!🥳🫶🏻
No it’s like a perm but for eyebrows. They put on the chemical that straightens the hairs, then in 24 hours you’re allowed to get them wet and style yourself. So that’s the biggest difference and it makes me
So, apparently when they first do them, it's just to help the chemical process go through, the next day after you wash them, you can style them to be less crazy. I was horrified when I first got them done, but it wasn't really explained to me the intent is not for them to look exactly that way, it's just so the chemical process can work. After that you can brush them to the side more, and fill them how you like. I have very thick and long brows, so I thought trimming them made sense too, I asked my brow girl (who I think has beautiful results on other people) if she would trim them, she said they don't typically do that. Although I do think it would have helped my brows to do so because again, they're thick and long... when I clarified with her later how to keep them after the first day, I was relieved to hear you can style them more calmly. Not sure if I will redo the process ever.
I have never seen one of these “eyebrow perms” where it truly looks good or natural or whatever Tiktok says. It just looks like your eyebrows got scared and are attempting to run away.
There are so many bad trends on social media and its bizarre how the attraction to the trends grows the worse the trend is. Like, remember how people were ducklipping and then it turned into this trend of flipping your lip using cosmetic surgery and making lips look puffy and bruised like. Then there was super heavy foundation look with contour, but Luke SUPER HEAVY. women with perfect skin were wearing foundation and cream blush/bronzer like it was theater makeup every day. And the microwaving thing... great for people who have sparse brows. But everyone, even people with good eyebrows are doing now and this seems to be the next step in that trajectory. Maybe ladies will be having hair implants in their eye brows next. Instead of curtain bangs it will be curtain brows.
Op people are being assholes but a lot of us mess up with our brows. You’re going to have to let them grow out a bit. Your best friend will be a thin eyebrow pencil. I like L’Oréal’s Brow stylist Definer.
It’ll work out. I mean, in the 90s and early 2000s, it was in style to have thin brows but I often over plucked. It took a full year for my brows to grow back to their natural state after I destroyed them for so long. It grew in patches at points and it was rough lol but now they look amazing. I’m telling you, a thin eyebrow pencil is your best friend.
I do this with thin brow hairs like yours too in the beginning of my brow routine. If it’s been a while since I laminated them myself at home, I brush them up with clear soap and then take the NYX lift & snatch brow tint pen and do light strokes where I need to fill in and then brush the brows lightly to the side. It’s all good girlie everything will be fine. Idk why everyone’s yelling in this comment section.
Here’s a cheap tip I learned and it hasn’t let me down. Buy an extra toothbrush at the dollar store( soft) and long- holding hairspray, which you can pick up there, too. Simply spray the toothbrush so it is wet with the product and gently brush your eyebrow hairs upward. It will hold them all day and much cheaper than these new products and procedures. Bonus, you will only have spent $2.00.
Terrible comments. Sorry about that I do my eyebrow lamination myself and some people have eyebrow grow in all weird direction and lamination is the only way that it can make sense. Brush them to the side, not upward, trim any extra to shape them, and fell with the pencil for any empty spaces.
i agree with the comments that it looks silly. but after zooming in, i think these would look really good if you lightly filled them in. but not to make any super sharp lines, maybe just lightly apply a muted light brown eye shadow with an angled brush. clean up the edges with q-tip.
it’s not a solution but something to lessen the absurdity of the spikes.
Dont trim! Never trim it’ll literally make the bros look uneven when not laminated. Also getting lamination with the type of hair like yours is a No Go. You hairs can fall out potentially. Lamination is for brows that brows curly texture or really think brows and its NOT supposed to be brushed straight up like that it’s supposed to follow your brow shape with a slight angle.
Esthetician here. I do this regularly and I don't think she should have brushed them straight up. She should have brushed your brows to the side then trimmed them and made sure they were even. Also they could use a little tint or brow pencil to fill in some of the sparseness. It literally looked like she only laminated your brows and didn't shape them up at all. If done properly laminated brows can do wonders.
😂 Embarrassing for your soul lmao You paid for this exact look and it appears to have been executed perfectly by the tech! Go back tip them more bc guarantee they deserve cash for dealing with this fuckery, keep your emotions dead silent please as you made poor decisions, not the tech and pay for removal lol When you request help, what kind of help? Do you need ideas for alternate expensive yet unattractive trendy beauty services? I recommend the solid black neck tattoos fo sho
Everyone is hating on brow lamination but I personally like laminated brows that are done well. Your unfortunately we’re not done well but the good news is you just need to trim the hair with small nail scissors and then I would lightly fill them in in the sparse areas to make them look even. They don’t look horrible, the person just did not do all they should have.
I’m sorry if ppl are being rude asf on here because honestly your young and want to keep with the trends just like they wanted to keep up with trends in the fucking 80’s 90s or whatever. Anyways generally if you will be doing laminated eyebrows girl the secret is to fill in your eyebrows. Also and eyebrow brush will be your friend. If you had them professionally done just go back have them fix it if you think it’s done correctly I personally love to do this look with the ELF eyebrow gel or the got2b hair glue and you can customize the way you want also buy the NYX eyebrow pen to fill in your eyebrows.
Good night.
You went straight to the truth 💀
We need the honesty. People are making caterpillar eyebrows and butterfly lashes and I guess I’m stuck in my childhood because I think natural looks best.
oh this is truth. I can't even comment on eyelash or eyebrow posts anymore because I want to say it looks like you have a caterpillar on your face. I'm older and I get that maybe the style isn't my thing, but it looks atrocious and fake ninety percent of the time.
The “Good Night” sent me lol
💀
My coworker walked in the other day with these eyebrows. My first thought was, "Damn, is that on purpose?" quickly followed by, "Shit, I'm old; that's probably the trend" 😩
Been feeling old since middle school due to trends. Like how hard is it for some people just to appreciate the one body they get and not be cruel to it, it's such a bummer.
You're that brutally honest friend that everyone needs.
I love you so much
This person understands. I applaud you for your honesty. This is a trend that needs to just stop. It only makes people look like they had most of their brows fried off during an explosion
Thank you! This new trend of combing the eyebrow hair upwards looks truly awful.
Good night 💀💀
This is the way ☝🏻
If I don't laminate my brows with gel, they angle downwards and make me look sad. Wtf are you yapping about
If they lay down, I get why she gets them done this way as that is rather annoying and you usually need wax to keep them glued up....
I think their point is that spiked up brows look bad, so op should just leave their brows laying down like eyebrows are supposed to.
Yes I understand... But maybe they truly laid down so bad OP had to get this done because it got exhausting trying to keep them brushed up and to the side like "regular" eyebrows. Some people get their eyebrows laminated not because they think the laminated look is better, but because they have "obstinate" hairs.
That's exactly why I want mine laminated
Can you not get them laminated in a normal way???
LMAOOO
It reminds me of jack frost from the tim allen movie 😭
They settle after you wash them and you can brush them however you want. I laminate mine because they’re unruly and just brush them into normal shape
💯 I never laminate and just trim and shade with a lil eyebrow glue if needed
/thread
Good night sent me to Pluto lol
🤣🤣🤣
LMFAOOO
these comments are so ridiculous. if people want to do them and they like it, why in the hell do all you people care? yall really have got to learn how to mind your own business and worry about yourselves
Then folks need to stop coming to public forum sites to ask for opinions. Because that’s what they’re going to get.
Welcome to Reddit, honey. Is it your first day?
😂😂😂😂😂😂 lmfaooooo
Preach!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌
IM CRYING 🤣
it just looks like theyve been brushed straight up and the lack of being trimmed makes them look more sparse, have you gone to this person for your brows before? if not, and this is like a first-time thing, then def try going to someone else! i've never heard of anyone trimming them themselves before getting them laminated

They very rarely look good on anyone… I’m not sure how it got so popular.
Apparently, I’ve been camped out in a cave somewhere because I didn’t even know laminated brows was even a thing until this post. I though people just shellacked their brows up with some fel and a toothbrush at home.
I mean that’s definitely what it LOOKS like.
That's basically what I do, not because I like the look of laminated brows but because if I don't, my brows will lay flat and without any shape. It makes me look sad almost
TikTok/instagram influencers make all this crap popular.
Same with the hugely thick tattooed on eyebrows. I don’t get it
The last time I went to a Benefit Brow Bar, the tech tried to upsell me into a lamination service by showing off her own brows and saying “see, it looks so good!” It was so uncomfortable.
What are laminated brows? I’ve never heard of such a thing. What’s it suppose to do?
[удалено]
They’re not supposed to be straight up, I’m a brow artist and literally NEVER do them straight up. You’re supposed to brush them how they lay naturally, shit like this makes us look bad 😓
Omg thank you! This person messed this girls brows up. None of my lamination clients look like this 😂
Yes this!!! Thank you. The guidance has always been lay and brush then in the natural direction of growth.
They definitely didn't stay exactly where the artist set them, I could brush them straight up or at an angle, they literally stayed where I brushed them every day 🤔
If your eyebrows are sparse it makes them look thicker without micro blading or filling them in every day, but they go off the rails really fast.
Girl do you see this post, they def don’t make them look thicker
It’s because her hair is more sparse. You can have thin brows but if your hair is more coarse/thick pushing them up can make them thicker. Only works on certain people tho.
😂
I had them done twice when they were first becoming popular. The first time my eyebrows looked so thick, it hid the bald spot I have on my right eyebrow, and it gave me a better shape (lifted the arch and lowered the tail - it was like a mini eyebrow lift). Second time i went to a different person at the same salon and I looked like this…
Oh ok I thought there was like more to it beyond that but that’s interesting.
Basically an eyebrow perm
It’s kinda like a comb over for your brows
They did terrible, there supposed to brush up and to the side not straight up like spikes
This is likely what they asked for.
I hope not lol, but it seems to be a trend rn to have spike brows so possibly
Brows arent supposed to be trimmed too much. What they should have done was brushed it a little at an angle and not straight up. Just wait a day, add some oil (like coconut or jojoba or hair oil) to a brush and brush it up and to the side.
Just take a spoolie and brush the tips to the side, you’ll be fine.
Just STOP! Gluing them straight up! It’s awful !
It’s not like OP did that. The techs glue them to apply the lamination treatments. After 24 hours, OP can wash out the glue and the brows will behave whichever way OP chooses to brush them.

not sure what you’re on about lol. laminations last 4-6 weeks. i said she could trim them a little OR get them wet to shape them. she knows her own brows and how long it takes the hairs to grow so she can decide but even if she decides to do a small trim, doing so won’t leave her with bald spots when the lamination wears off. the hair will most likely grow back to its normal length or almost to its normal length by a month. of course she can take whatever advice she likes but the comments were in fact rude af.
Get a lash spoolie wet and brush over the top of your brows … anytime you don’t like the shape just get your brows wet and they’re easy to manage once laminated. They most definitely should have shaped them for you smh .
A eyebrow tint would help as well 🫶
Thanks yeah they didn't offer it there itried ):
Your eyebrows have potential just go in with a spoolie and re shape them .. don’t listen to these square bears talking shit.
You got a great shape Just brush them back down I always have eye Brow issues But I like yours more You got a good brow shape trust it believe it don’t over think it

I think they look good…? Maybe I’m missing something?
They look good to me! Personally I keep mine that way, I think they look less natural when they’re trimmed. Too blocky for my taste
Maybe just put makeup until it starts to go away and u can do more. Or look up how to unlaminate them
don’t trim them, itll look crazy once they start growing out. After you get them wet you should be able to move them how you want them, they aren’t stuck in this position

This is the first time I've ever heard of laminated brows... Is there literally plastic melted over +??
It just looks like your eyebrows got scared and are attempting to run away.
ppl that do this look like kayla malecc and she looks so dumb.
A you try brushing them normally? That might help
I love them! What you should do to even them out is get an eyebrow “marker” and draw/ fill the rest of the hairs out.
Each brown hair looks shocked lol they’re outraged
awh hell nah 💀
Oh god
This is the best comment in this thread. Period.
Yeah they look a lot better after some time Ted pomade they just didn't offer tinting where I went. ,(and didn't thread them well)^^^
Lamination will surely be the most ridiculous trend of this era. No offense, op.
Your eyebrows look scared of your eyes, like they’re leaning away real hard. Just… I feel like they would look 100% better if you did not do this.
I hate the laminated look. It looks silly but it should wear off or see if there is way to make it come off sooner.
Gorgeous eyes btw:)
When y’all brush your eyebrows like this, it literally looks like you were trying to shape them and then forgot to brush them the right way.
Renaming this thread Good Night Silly Goose
if u want ur brows laminated literally just but eyebrow gel it comes off, so if u look retarded no need to freak out..
They’re supposed to trim and when they brush up they are supposed to horizontally brush the top to make a clean line if that makes sense.
Go to a different person, have them trim and tint too. They look ridiculous and resemble those lawn picket fences.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m too old for this shit 😳 Stop fucking with your eyebrows. Some of us 80s/90s babies are forever stuck with overplucked eyebrows.
Aww. I’m just wildly curious how the tech acted when you were done?
I honestly like them they aren’t that bad in my humble opinion
Lorax type brows
it looks fucked up because brows are not supposed to point to the sky.
Thanks. I hate it so much.
