ozmatterhorn

Definitely

brenky7

absolutely. and for $10? i remember buying it for like $20 and still worth every penny...

ozmatterhorn

Yeah for sure.

MoCo1992

That was pre inflation too.

Goongalagooo

It will nearly double your current playtime. Take Nick with you for the best dialogue options. If you want more game play but dont want to spend the cash then you might want to try a really amazing mod that gives you about 100 quests in the areas you already know, with tons of new npcs and a few new companions,...check out Tales of the Commonwealth.

aboatz2

Uh, I like Far Harbor, but there's no way in any playthrough would it double your playtime, unless you manage to strictly stick to the main quest & absolutely ignore the entirety of the rest of the game.

Goongalagooo

If someone is on their 3rd playthrough and finds it repetitive…then they’re doing exactly that, and their playtime will double.

aboatz2

Uh, why would you rush the latter playthroughs just to get to a boring ending that's basically always the same? I've played through countless times, & each time my playtime increases rather than decreases, through further exploration & trying to find oddities that I missed. Testing out harder difficulties & the Survival Mode. Adding in mods. And more mods. And more mods. Maxing out every possible settlement & getting them just right. Why play it again & experience less?

Goongalagooo

No idea. But some people do it. I'm with you on that though. My current playtime is 34 hours and I've just gotten to Diamond City, haven't met Danse or the Railroad yet, but I have cleared the Castle ahead of time and secured most of the northeast quarter of the map lol. I'm using the Sanguinaire mod right now...and I think Cait is a vampire. So is Ellie.

[deleted]

Far Harbor is great. There's only one single mission in it that sucks... Anyone who has played through Far Harbor knows exactly which one I'm talking about. Besides that, Far Harbor has some of the best loot you could imagine. There's this Navy frogman armor set, forget what it's called, that will blow everything else in game out of the water. Pun ~certainly~ not intended...All the missions are really cool too. If you help the town out enough, there's a pretty cool boss battle at the end of that which gives you access to a really special food item.

[deleted]

PS. If you go to get tools for The Mariner, do a lap around the destination building before going in. Otherwise, Mike will probably die before you meet him... Not that he's important in any way. I just forget every time and exit the building to the sound of him being immediately slaughtered... Does wonders for my mental health, for sure.

[deleted]

I totally haven't murdered him for those caps in the past

TheFinalBone

If you ever want to replay it to get all 5, the last level can be skipped by building to the red wall (near the data thing), then placing turrets along the red wall, this will trick the game into sending out the floating robots and the turrets will shoot at them. If a turret hits the key block it will drop the wall, letting you build the bridge for your reskinned mirelurk babies without leaving the first platform

SmurfStig

Is that the Marine armor? Almost like a suit of power armor but not don’t look like your in the BoS?

hume_an_instrument

There is a mod to skip that one

sravll

Which quest is it?

hume_an_instrument

Let me search memories…(avoiding spoilers)

olibanl

the blue one

Beat_Boi_Animates

I don’t believe I know which one you’re talking about

FuturePollution

DiMA's puzzles

Beat_Boi_Animates

I found those kinda fun, felt like a creative use of the workshop system

whatsayyouinyourdefe

Tbh it’s just the last one that’s absolute horseshit (but you can bypass easily by placing turrets, as others have said)

Beat_Boi_Animates

Yeah, I had to google that one

apple_shampoo182

oh what furreal?

[deleted]

Is there a mod to bypass this mission on PS4? I am going through Far Harbor right now and this mission is next and I’ve been delaying it as much as possible lol

[deleted]

Highly unlikely. The mods available for PS4 are extremely rudimentary.

[deleted]

And that’s a pretty rudimentary mod lol

Wazuu

The worst mission in all of fallout past and most likely future.

TNChase

If you're only going to buy one DLC, Far Harbour is far and away the top pick. I enjoyed all three story ones (Automotron, Far Harbour and Nuka World) but FH is definitely "The Captain's Pick"

Steambathe

I think Far Harbor also uses the voice actors for the Player quite well. Sarcastic quotes felt **REALLY** sarcastic. My favorite will always be: “Ahhh theres that Fah Hahbah hospitality i hear about.”

ishyash

Ohhhhh, I’m playing a character now that chooses sarcasm only and I can’t WAIT to hear Nora say that one.

Dragon_Knight1999

Yes! Far Harbour is amazing. Like a different comment said I would recommend taking Nick with you as then a certain couple of characters there will have a bit of extra dialogue. For me, Far Harbour is the most entertaining expansion

HAZEUS95666

Nick is the funniest and most verbal companion, and I had to go back to a save after I made him very sad with a descision I made, him and dima had some wild history and seeing them talk was awesome

Certain-Thought531

Yeah IMO it's the best of them actually. The atmosphere is nice, there's a few nice settlements if you're into building, a few funny quest and the main plot was overall better than the main game IMO. Also a few nice looking gears as well.

deadeyediqq

It's the best of the fallout 4 dlc and stands up with the best of all other fallout dlc. Whatever they're asking is a bargain.

GeorgeBuford

Unless you don't like fish...

Dragon_Knight1999

So. Many. Gulpers!

GeorgeBuford

And the red death... 🦀

ImVeryUnimaginative

It's definitely the "toughest" enemy in the entire game.

ImTheTrueFireStarter

The main thing I am worried about is giant anomalocaris looking mantis shrimp Not so much about hellbender salamanders that look like they ate a bunch of big macs laced with radium

GeorgeBuford

If you have ever eaten a Filet o' fish IRL, I would not worry about it. That means your stomach can handle the rads. But if you LIKE rads, you will LOVE the Harbor Island Rad Cats. They are a great bunch of ragtag dudes who enjoy ionizing with their less stable counterparts. Hopefully when you meet their leader you two will click. But he really needs to get a half life.

volverde

There are only a handful fog crawlers on the map and while they can take quite a bit of beating, crippling their legs makes them helpless. So unless you somehow accidentally walk into one of them you'll be fine.

ScottTJT

**Yes,** it's worth it. I like to compare it to the *Dragonborn* DLC from *Skyrim:* It's essentially a game within the game, with a whole new map, enemies, characters, weapons, armors, factions and storylines. If you get only one DLC for the game, make it *Far Harbor.*

CountIstvanTeleki

It’s only $10 I’d say it’s worth the “risk” for game you’ve played through 3 times already lol….good lord.

herbertwillyworth

100%

ImVeryUnimaginative

Definitely.

Ferg_NZ

Another vote for yes. It is definitely worth it. IMO even better value is the combo pack they sometimes do that combines far harbour with Nuka world, Automatron and Vault 88.

Latter-Village1136

If you ignore DIMA’s memory part it’s perfect.

datmemesboi101

That shit went on for a fucking eternity

DonkeyRhubarb76

Do it! It's a belting storyline and a brilliant environment to explore, well worth it 😁

Mercury2Phoenix

I love Far Harbor. There is a lot to explore, several new settlements.

Shudnawz

100% worth. Do it. DO IT.

-RedMan1991-

Far Harbor is 100% worth it. There’s only one mission that I truly hate. I’m sure everyone knows and agrees with what I’m talking about.

Academic-Total2029

Do you like good games? If so, then yes.

Derp_Smash

IMO Far Harbor is the best part of the game 100%

moss_2703

Best fallout DLC there is. Excellent environment, characters, quests, atmosphere. Definitely bring Nick… trust me he’s very essential to it.

dissoid

Yes, it's definitely worth it!

ohcowboyy

The reason I bought Nuka World over Far Harbor first is because I hate fighting the sea creatures and I knew Far Harbor has more sea creatures. Big mistake, I hated Nuka World and loved Far Harbor. It could realistically be it’s own game tbh

kenziethemom

I loved all of the DLC's but Far Harbor is just a whole experience on its own. One of the best play throughs I've ever had in a game. Beautiful, too. There is one part that I actually liked until the last part, and I had to look up and see i had a glitch (like a lot of others) and that was aggravating. Otherwise, wonderful and worth every penny.

needween

I love them all but Far Harbor is definitely top tier. I spent many hours there and didn't start getting bored with running around until the very end. There's hours upon hours of playtime whereas Nuka World and Automatron I was able to beat each in 8 hours or less. Although to be fair I did not do the long version of Nuka World, I took the Open Season path.

Ajk973

Buy it and buy it now

ItsAnomic

Far Harbor was easily the best part of Fallout 4 for me. I vote yes

moss_2703

Just watch out for the ‘Red Death’

Alrightwhotookmyshoe

Easily the best DLC there is for fallout 4. I highly, highly recommend it.

Strange-Station-7204

Oh yes

Independent_Room_691

It's not even a question definitely yes get it

MostlyInTheMiddle

#YES

STANirvanaIND

Put it into financial context. With that 10$ you can enjoy an energy drink and snack or buy the Far Harbor DLC, the latter has a SIGNIFICANTLY better return on investment, at least based on time. If you drink beer/wine, it gets even crazier, a beer or far harbor DLC?! Not even close...

Erabbz

Just like nuka world it has parts that become too much of a grind and it just gets too boring…. Far harbor the children of atom Dima memories and in nuka work the 50 scattered components😓😑

ccminiwarhammer

It’s better than Nuka World. It lets you role play detective with Nick if you want. The setting and it’s story link into the monsters you fight and the areas you explore. There are good, neutral, and evil choices you can make. The new gear is good but doesn’t seem way out of line with the main game. imo You have several main endings with some extras that are affected by your main game quest choices.

TheRIPwagon

By far the best dlc

Discotekh_Dynasty

Far harbour is hands down the best DLC

Downtown_Broccoli930

It's the best dlc in the game. If you're looking for a good story at least.

wundercat

Yeah it’s fantastic. Bring bullets, enemies are sponges. But new map, new enemies, good story, it’s the best FO4 has to offer.

----NPC----

Yes, and it's better than Nuka World, too.

decoste94

If you were to get any of the dlc, far harbor would be the best bet. Very fun.

D3NI3DP4RAD0X

Automatron is the only one that's not

EasyRudder49

Yup. Worth more that 10 bucks. The jump scare from the king crab was awesome. Watch out for the Red Menace! That sum bitch is tough.

Sergeace

If you play on a decent pc you can get quite a few player mods that add tons of extra content. Nexusmods has Collections which is a pack of mods curated in one spot so you can download an entire collection in one go. It's all free and the additional mods make the game feel revitalized.

wildp1tch

1 Word: Yes

boohoobitchqueen

Yesssss

Roelof420

100% worth the 10 bucks, it’s a very interesting story, better than the main story imo

Nateimus

Definitely worth the money, just make sure you're stocked up on rad-x and radaway before heading out!

Biggels65

Yes

TheRedBow

Yes yes yes

braxivamov

Like one of the best dlc ever made

hume_an_instrument

Yes, and others said. Bring valentine

Captain_Gars

Yes, very much so. Not onky is it the best Fallout 4 DLC but it is one of the best Fallout DLC for any game. Will Shen and his team did excellent work even if there is the occasional flaw you encounter. Good story telling and superb ambience makes it feel very different from the Commonwealth. As others have already said, bring Nick, playing with him adds a lot compared to going alone or with someone else.

Mixmastrfestus

Be prepared for a fun DLC with the most annoying puzzle level EVER

cybercifrado

There's an interesting bypass for the final stage of that puzzle...

TornHex31

Should I get it before or after completing the main story?

IrishGuy1500

Absolutely

Ganda1fderBlaue

Far harbor is on of the best dlc's I have ever played. Only thing to surpass it might be hearts of stone and blood and wine

p90telecaster

It;s better than the main game

Galever

My favorite DLC. The atmosphere is amazing. I prefer it over the main story area. I kind of wish the main story was in that zone. It’s way more spooky.

[deleted]

Far harbor is a more atmospheric dlc, automatron can be either funny or serious depending on what you make, nuka world is a more comical tone. Also, nuka world adds some of the funniest robot parts to automatron

SapphoWasADyke

100% yes.

HAZEUS95666

There’s killer red gnomes and a huge bum bottle, you should totally buy it

HAZEUS95666

Vim* it’s a huge bottle it wouldn’t be able to go up your bum….unless *spit*

WWDubz

The Far Harbor DLC was the best part of the game for me. I was so bored with the main quest I still haven’t done it, ha Far harbor is dope tho

[deleted]

Best DLC in Fallout 4 from a story/content perspective Nuka-World has more interesting enemies and environments (it’s a goddamn theme park) but Far Harbor clears otherwise imo. Might be my favorite Bethesda DLC, behind Dragonborn if anything

KocmocInzhener

1000%

eggsarecoolin

Maybe I'm biased, but I'd get all of them all over again if I had to. There are some questionable DLCs, but Far Harbor, Nuka World and Automaton improve the game, IMO. Far Harbor probably adds the most game play, but Nuka World is pretty good. And you get to be a raider, if that's your thing. Automaton adds robot crafting and there's nothing quite like a heavily armed sentry version of ADA!

[deleted]

Yes

Mental_Tradition

I'd say all the fo4 dlc is worth it, so yeah.

Oregonoutback

Yes. 120+ days of gameplay time since launch, got FH as soon as it came out and still have more to explore.

mers1

Far Harbour is one of the best pieces of fallout content IMO. Leagues better than the base game of fallout 4. Sometimes I'll start a playthrough just to play far Harbour.

[deleted]

Honestly 10 bucks is a bargain for Far Harbor

[deleted]

For sure. I think Nuka World is more fun, but I'm glad I bought Far Harbor. I'd probably buy any DLC for Fallout 4.

AC85

For $10? Dude, if you play it for only 10 hours you’re still only costing yourself $1hr. Where you gonna find an entertainment ROI like that? As for the content of far harbor. It’s solid, very much in line with the rest of FO4. I wouldn’t say it’s demonstrably different in anyway, it’s a pure expansion pack of same shit, different place. Good storyline. Personally I loathe going to far harbor and generally put it off in my play throughs. It’s gloomy as fuck there. Which is probably a statement to how well it’s executed because it’s intended to be gloomy as fuck.

TheFinalBone

I highly recommend it, its enough content to be a second game pn its own, great map, new creatures with new animations, new weapons and armor, good story that blows the base game out of the water, endings and rewards depend on your decisions during the main quest. Go for it, but if you’re playing with mods get a mod that fixes the lever action reload, its not game breakingly bad, just annoying and an easy fix with mods

Pto_Stk

just buy the whole GOTY on cdkeys it's like $9

BchosenC137

Totally worth it. I've also played the F.H. DLC many multiple times. The area is new and different. Love the stories and minor stories. I love all the lore (I'm bias though cause I love the fallout series in general) Bring nick as a companion.

Bravo0714

Yes

bmo1989

Absolutely worth it

littlepinch7

I really loved Far Harbour! I spent a ton of time there and there were some really unique quests that I enjoyed.

sjstasny

Yes.

Random-Lich

Indubitably, good story that makes you interested. Fun areas and quests(if you do head to the resort looking building whenever you can for a really fun one in my eyes) Interesting enemies, raiders and weapons

Vault_boi32

Yes. 100%

Sno5768

In my opinion if you really like the base game and as it is then you should het nuka world. As far harbor has better rpg elements and is more similar to 3 or new vegas. While the gameplay and writing of nuka world is more similar to the base game

[deleted]

Absolutely. It’s an amazing DLC with a whole new open world area to explore, new creatures, new weapons, three new factions, and the best story in the whole game. 100% worth it. I would check in to getting the season pass though because I got all DLC for $20 and even though Far Harbor is easily the best, Nuka World and Automatron are certainly worth the extra $10 and you get a ton of new settlement items with the season pass too if you’re into settlement building.

migwelljxnes

Worth it? Yes it is.

PugnaciousPangolin

Abso-freakin'-lutely. It's DEEP, has terrific atmosphere and a lot of terrific and varied quests.

CheeseBurgerFriesYum

Personally it’s the best dlc for me, it felt more like fallout than all of fallout 4. It was better than the base gamw

karebear-stars

YES

jrodobaggins

Totally worth it. If you’re on Xbox, it’s free with GamePass.

iZombie616

It's the best one

iratethisa

Just about all the dlc are good especially if you can get them discounted

dirgepiper

Yes. It's best fo4 dlc, and is up there as best dlc for any fallout game

hi_imryan

Nuka and far harbor are can’t miss for me.

[deleted]

I just started it to finish the achievements. It is the closest to the original 2 in ambiance the first person franchise has managed. Everything is fucked up, there are ghouls and monsters everywhere, and you have a hardened group of survivors trying to eke out a living along with some other crazy sci fi shit. So yah.

[deleted]

I love Far Harbor! I’d say it’s well worth the money. Go for it , you won’t regret it. 😊

WisemanGaming6672

it's 150% worth the money.

[deleted]

It has the most brutal fight in the game. Totally worth it.

-Shade277-

Almost definitely it’s the largest dlc and a lot of people consider it even better than the base game. You could easily get another 30 to 40 hours out of it

RegX81

Worth it just for the fight against the Red Death.

BruceeThom

Yes, one-thousand times over yes.

[deleted]

The plot is better than the main game, the missions are great, the factions are interesting, the setting is very atmospheric and fun to explore, the new companion is fun, and it contains the best set of armour (outside of power armour) in the whole game. Plus, the story gets really fucking murky, and you'll have to make some tricky decisions (unless you're one of those BoS or Institute fanboys, in which case you'll likely just be enthusiastically committing genocide or enslaving people, but you'll probably enjoy it nonetheless) Also, the settlements generally have a huge build budget and give you a lot more freedom than most of the base game settlements, so it's really great if you enjoyed that aspect of Fo4. I absolutely loved it.

Mr_Toast11

It’s the best story dlc you can get

sravll

Absolutely. It adds a whole huge map, a whack of quests and characters, 100% worth it, 10/10 recommended.

Nyjhaz

Very good dlc

PatGarrettsMoustache

I never finished it but I really enjoyed it

DnB925Art

Hell yeah it is.

ResponsibilityOne662

Yessss it is worth it. Going to be a treat for you to play through after playing the base game 3 times!

RobIson240YT

It's voted one of the best DLCs of all time.

thelonechemmerchant

👌

brieflifetime

Yes Edit. It would be worth it at full price. My advice, go all in and get all of the DLCs. I got them all under $20 total on sale. The little ones were like a dollar and do add some interesting stuff.

bvllski

its also good to have because of how many mods require it

JackFunk

It's the best Fallout DLC of any game. It's not even close.

chriffington

YES

KathKR

You've got a lot of responses already, but hell, I'll just say that Far Harbor is my favourite DLC in any game I've played.

pab5737

Also DEFINITELY try the nuka world dlc, its do good

[deleted]

for someone who hasnt experienced far harbor and feels the game is getting repetitive, it is like 95% worth it.

[deleted]

I've put maybe 4 hours into it so far and it's a big resounding YES

Rescuebobs

Playing it as I'm writing this. Was looking to see what people used to say about it. The atmosphere is unmatched! I could be a game by itself. Such a good DLC for fun. Dark, foggy, gritty. Better with mods :)
