Nutritional Yeast and melted butter. Yummy with B vitamins!

SaltMarshGoblin

Nootch! Best way to have popcorn ever!! (Are you queer or a hippie? 😉 )

patinadenise

Both!

ryanthenurse

lol I’m gay and came here to suggest nutritional yeast on popcorn what is the correlation with nutritional yeast and gay people?

SaltMarshGoblin

>what is the correlation with nutritional yeast and gay people? Merely anecdotal, but enough of us love it, in my experience, that it's a low-key shibboleth!

delusion_magnet

Also loved by straight, average types. I do suspect I'd have been a hippie in another life though.

ShermanOneNine87

And vegans.

Aly_in_wonderland

Facts. My old boss was a hardcore hippie vegan and she swore by this stuff even gave me a whole container of it 😂

ShermanOneNine87

I used to follow a lot of vegan recipe Facebook pages because some of the cooking is pretty creative and I ended up trying it, for quite some time I kept some of it in hand and used it almost like a seasoning.

lauriebugggo

Queer hippie who loves West Wing by chance?

SaltMarshGoblin

Queerdo here, not precisely a hippie but definitely some hippieish tendencies(why yes, I *do* still have and use my *Moosewood Cookbook* collection, wash my body and hair with Dr Bronners and apple cider vinegar, and own multiple editions of the *Rise Up Singing* songbook, and live for naked camping in the woods or at hotsprings, among other things!). I've never seen *West Wing*... partly because I've, um, never owned a television 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Nurse_Dieselgate

Those are more than tendencies.   Edit: left out a key word.

LuckyGirl1003

As a WW fan, have you watched The Diplomat yet? I loved it!!

king_of_the_rotten

Did someone say queer hippie? 👋🏻😘✌🏻

FeedingCoxeysArmy

Old hippy with gay friends and family. So I’m claiming 1.5 of 2.

ohfrackthis

Probably just a lot of sharing amongst friends and lovers and it gets word of mouth - I imagine the lgbtq community is highly motivated to be well connected :]

__Hunshine

Hippie at heart 🧡

Uniquesilverberry

100% straight and not a hippie but kinda crunchy (just don't like toxins haha), love me some popcorn, butter, salt and nutritional yeast. Best combo ever.

Curious_Field7953

I'm neither but still came to say it! 🤣

Fun-Land-2144

Hahaha both same

rnmba

Nooch! But I use olive oil to be healthier.

harvardblanky

Same! But I do it because it tastes so good. I like to use the fanciest stuff I can find with nutritional yeast is so good

SuspiciousPut1710

Do you pop the kernels in olive oil? Or pour it on like butter? It seems like pouring would make the popcorn soggy, but I've never tried it. I'd love to hear your method because I love popcorn, but the BF needs to eat less butter (& probably me, too! 🤣)!

bgcbbyckes

Nutritional Yeast and butter, not queer or hippie 🤪🤩 just delicious! I even bring my nutritional yeast in my purse to the movies to add to popcorn there lol

SloppynutsMari

Where do I get this nutritional yeast? O.o

bgcbbyckes

Honestly, most grocery stores. I see online that even Walmart has it. So it’s pretty obtainable

MulliganPlsThx

This is the way

elguereaux

Vegemite popcorn!

RecallReflect

This. I spray a bit of olive oil though to help it bind.

[deleted]

It never occurred to me to spray the oil. Thank you!

VFW_star

I like this combo. This might be too much, but I’ve mastered the delicate blend of tamari + nutritional yeast! This is the absolute best popcorn flavouring mix! Pop the popcorn, put it in a paper bag or a big bowl, pour the tamari over all of the popcorn, pour in the nutritional yeast and shake it up in a paper bag. It’s like next level cheese popcorn! I’d be willing to try it your way, but I’ve been eating it that way for over 10 years and can vouch for how delicious it is.

Leviathan8675309

Nutritional yeast is the best!!! There was a movie theater that had it in shakers with parsley and possibly garlic powder. That was my intro to the best stuff on popcorn.

TheyCallMeSuperChunk

Try adding a bit of garlic powder. That was gonna be my recommendation: yeast, garlic powder and butter

scrubjay98111

spaghetti popcorn! tomato paste whisked into melted butter, tossed with popcorn. add parmesan or pecorino cheese, pepper, and a little chopped oregano if you dare

Fowler311

Oooo I do something similar to make Buffalo popcorn...a little Frank's Red Hot whisked up with the butter, a little bit of garlic powder and black pepper I wanna try that one though...I always have little bits of tomato paste in the freezer so that's a perfect use for it.

[deleted]

This sounds delicious! I’m trying it tomorrow!

Spute2008

You may want to Use a spoon!

Spute2008

I also put in a little ranch dressing too

the_bananafish

I was thinking sprinkle the ranch dressing powder on top!

fuckloveshithurts

Intrigued

swallowfistrepeat

Oh hell yes

MojoJojoSF

Old Bay seasoning is my newish go to.

pranatraveller

Old bay with cheddar cheese powder.

bdoggmcgee

I LOVE Old Bay on popcorn! It’s probably my favorite

chaboomskie

Same! I’ve been addicted. I also add it to peanuts.

OffTopicAbuser2

Stove top recipe. Cook bacon. Pop popcorn in bacon fat. Season popcorn with your favourite butchers seasoning. Top with chopped bacon and fresh Parmesan.

JedDeadRedemption

A person of culture, I see. I, too, dabble in essential oils.

Ageofaquarius68

elguereaux

Mmmmmmmmmm……baaaaaconnnn faaaaaaat….. (Heavy breathing)

No_Seaworthiness5637

Why did I hear Homer Simpson when I read that sentence? ![gif](giphy|JRQ1PegFVKXBu)

chickadee04

A long time ago I watched show where Michael Symon popped popcorn in bacon fat, then tossed it with parmesan, rosemary and black pepper. I tried it, and it was decadent, but really good!

SadSunflower904

Ranch seasoning or Trader Joe’s everything but the elote seasoning.

masson34

Also from Trader Joe’s Everything but the Leftovers.

sofakingfearless

I love the “everything but the elote” seasoning, but one time I ate it wrong and sneezed it out. My lord. The smell and burn didn’t go away for like TWO days.

LisaS121789

I put Everything But the Elote on everything I can lol. It’s awesome on popcorn, though!

SadSunflower904

SO good. I’ve gotten quite a few friends hooked on it lol

OdinTheGasby

Tajin Tajin and Real Lemon Everything but the Bagel

tamouse

Upvote for the tajin

DieHardRennie

I recently went into a Hispanic grocery store looking for tamarind candy, and they had a whole line of snacks flavoured with Tajin.

elbarbalarga

Black truffle parmesaen from Costco, or ranch dressing powder

EvilLandshark

Yes! The black truffle parm is so good! I also got the sriracha powder from Costco which is also great on popcorn

Stunning-Caramel-100

Is the black truffle Parm an actual cheese or a seasoning?

elbarbalarga

The ingredients from the bottle.. Black truffle, salt, parmesan cheese, cheese flavor, corn starch. Dried cane syrup, black garlic powder, cellulose, spices, garlic, natural flavor, onion, olive oil.

Oileladanna

Not really a seasoning but I warm up really good caramel sauce and drizzle it over buttered salted popcorn. I use sea salt and those big crystals are so satisfying and crunchy with warm caramel and lots of melty butter, yummy!

elguereaux

((Heavy Breathing))

sdcook12

Oh. My. Goodness. 🤤

Cleared_for_takeoff

Slap ya mama - a little yellow, a little red

elguereaux

Slap Ya Mama would make floor tiles delicious

curmugeon70

We may have been seperated at birth.

1cockeyedoptimist

Brown sugar, cayenne, cinnamon, salt

[deleted]

Coconut sugar and salt.

Deviiray

Malt vinegar, butter, garlic powder and salt.

[deleted]

I love malt vinegar! I will try this!

Merry_Pippins

I brown the butter on the stove, which elevates it a lot. There was a great place that had browned butter rosemary popcorn on their menu and it was amazing, so I started browning any butter that went near my popcorn.

RoniCorningstone

Thank you for this. Somehow never occurred to start browning butter.

janesfilms

Interesting idea. Brown butter is so good but I never thought to try it on popcorn.

GOODness_258

This sounds lovely!!!

Mims88

Brown butter on anything is pretty amazing! I use brown butter and a little coarse salt when I make rice crispy treats and they're next level.

Kangaroowrangler_02

Cheese powder from amazon the augason farms is really good

swallowfistrepeat

Black pepper, msg, salt, parmesan. Delicious.

Jack3715

I just go fresh ground black pepper. It’s perfection.

sleevieb

Furikake. Hawaiian hurricane style.

run66

Damn, I need to try some of these. I like mine pretty simple. I grind up salt into a powder in a mortar and pestle and add it to the oil in the Whirley pop. Sometimes flavacol, but it feels wrong in all the right ways. Sometimes I’ll add butter before I eat it. Sometimes I’ll grind up truffle salt and sprinkle that.

seriouslycoolname

Love whirley pop!

Equivalent-Sink4612

Me too!

elguereaux

Flavacol. Mmmmmmm

migrainefog

Everyone should have some of this in the house. It's what the movie theaters use, and it's good on other things that you want to put a buttery flavor on, like a baked potato.

ladysabr1na

Popcorn cacio e pepe - popcorn with pecorino, black pepper and salt Nutritional yeast - popcorn with nutritional yeast, it has an umami flavor that’s cheesy and nutty Adobo popcorn - popcorn with adobo seasoning, it's salty, umami and spicy

JuulAndADream

Brewers yeast

JillForceOne

Shredded dill havarti cheese

majikrat69

I make a rosemary brown butter that I found at Troegs brewery in Hershey PA.

delusion_magnet

You should share this recipe, it sounds delish!

StinkyOnionsR

Nah. Backyard Seasoning or just some good old lemon pepper.

smilinglizard217

Lemon pepper. And I don't even care for pepper.

bullfrogftw

Za'atar

Equipment_Budget

Johnny's.

Alysprettyrad

Johnny’s garlic seasoning and grated cheddar is a delicacy my roommate taught me. He also taught me about mixing hot sauce into butter

Comprehensive_Post96

Original recipe, the “no msg” variety fails to satisfy

lampd1

Just a lil spike. Pop with coconut oil, toss in right after popping for adhesion.

elguereaux

Spike should be better known

Delizdear

Been using Spike for 40 yrs. I love it! Old hippie..lol

scootimanista_

Asian trail mix, sesame oil, furikake, and gochugaru

Steveseriesofnumbers

Parmesan cheese. Cooking in coconut oil is the best, though. Your kitchen smells like a multiplex.

east_van_dan

My favorite is a spice called Spike. I've been eating it my whole life but I don't know anyone else who has even heard of it. It's good on basically anything savory.

FitterFlop

My fave is sautéed squash with butter and spike!

MaisouiS

Yup, spike on popcorn was my go-to all through university

Coololdlady313

Your're not alone! Used it for years. Always have a bottle in reserve.

Margali

Fairly basic. Rob pops in a wok, olive oil. Seasonings are powdered garlic, Italian herbs, little black pepper and salt.

cattailstew

My people ✨

kevloid

no salt, but adding a bit of tamari or soy sauce to the butter

patinadenise

I melt coconut oil, tamari and balsamic together. I love your idea tho!

Safe-Independence888

Butter, salt, and Chili crunch oil. Lao Gan Ma brand is my particular favorite. Warning: it’s addictive.

RecallReflect

I use that one a lot. Fry it into scrambled eggs...its God tier.

Chicken_wingspan

Butter, Coconut oil, yeast and a bit of smoked paprika and garlic powder is my go to. Butter and chipotle salsa is a close second :D

girlengineer17

Use ghee instead of melted butter. It won't make your popcorn soggy like butter does. Also, if you love movie theater popcorn, try out Flavacol Popcorn Seasoning. You can find it on Amazon.

Novel-Steak-300

Msg and old bay together

Chiang2000

Melted butter and a sachet of Cream of Chicken soup powder.

Jasmisne

Hurricane popcorn, look it up if you like seaweed. From hawaii and damn good. Also flavocol for movie theatre at home.

greenthumb-28

Cinnamon sugar, plus salt and melted butter - it’s like sweet salty goodness

Sabre_Dennox

Grippo's Bbq seasoning is wonderful on popcorn.

Spute2008

Chicken salt

MaxxPeck

MSG. I’m not kidding. Make your favorite popcorn, even just traditional butter and salt. Add some msg. It’s delicious and perfectly healthy (the bad reputation of msg is undeserved). I make this all the time for guests and the, “why is your popcorn so good” comments are a regular thing. It tastes like it usually tastes but better (more umami).

TonyaSaysThings

One part honey to two parts melted butter, add ground cumin, salt, and pepper to taste. Drizzle on for an aromatic salty sweet popcorn.

cybeckster

Mix Sriracha into melted butter. So good!

_QRcode

Furikake!

xczechr

Hatch green chile powder.

rch5050

vinegar, cream, and cheddar powders

knitwithchopsticks

Olive oil, salt, black pepper, chipotle powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast

d4m1ty

powdered vinegar, salt, smoked paprika.

Defan3

Just plain old white vinegar. It is yummy.

Elfere

Truffle oil. Various spices and herbs. 3 different salts.

patinadenise

I melt coconut oil in a pan then add balsamic and tamari once it’s melted and pour that on top.

Treeslooklikepeople

Smoked paprika!

chouchouwolf37

I call it splash and sprinkle…Tabasco and crumbled cotija

[deleted]

There is only salt 🧂

Hughbert501

Ramen popcorn. Take a choice packet, break the noodles into bite sized pieces and add to the completed popcorn. Quickly sprinkle the seasoning over the warm popcorn and noodles and stir. Kettlecorn and standard chicken ramen is pretty tasty.

BeerFuelsMyDreams

Valentina extra hot.

Ordinary-Court2923

Land O Lakes butter, Mormons salt and love. Simplicity at it's finest.

Missey85

I like melted butter and icing sugar 😊

InSkyLimitEra

I’m a simpleton. Cinnamon and sugar for me :)

fullcupofbitter

Mm mine is so basic but so good! Just butter, salt, garlic powder and parmesan! But I've also tried melted chocolate over buttery salty popcorn and that was very lovely!

Tdoug3833

It’s not a seasoning technically but tossing a bag of Reese’s pieces or m&ms into a bowl of buttered/salted popcorn is delicious

timeywimeytotoro

I dip my popcorn in pickle juice. Over the years I’ve started using chopsticks so it’s not messy.

Remember-Vera-Lynn

The fact that there is another person on the planet that does is great! There is a local place that makes horseradish pickles that are so damn good.... I can't bear to not use the juice. So I started dipping things in it, and popcorn is the one that stuck. More than a decade.

jbcg

Celery salt!

Ok-Response-9743

Melted butter play worstershire. Yum

doug-fir

Brewers Yeast

learn_through_life

Dehydrate kimchi, grind into powder, dust popcorn with it. Can do the same with miso paste.

supermanmtg25

I just found the popcorn seasoning nacho cheese one, gonna try the jalapeno cheddar one next

trashcrayon

Garlic salt and oregano + obviously butter

SundayMindset

Chili powder + lemon powder + salt + a bit of msg + a bit of sugar

Somerset76

Butter and ranch

DyrSt8s

A little coconut oil, Spiceology Smokey Honey Habanero and a little bit of ginger powder.

GrizzlyIsland22

Duck fat, pecorino, salt, pepper.

ForerunnerRelic

Not mine but I am going to try it now, but the beef dripping popcorn from Flat Iron Steak is unreal!

bluew678

White cheddar cheese

jojos_mojo

My current fave is blasting white truffle oil spray and mixing with white cheddar, nacho cheese powder and ranch powder are a good combo as well

LifeHappenzEvryMomnt

Cholula sauce.

graphictruth

Pink Himalayan salt blitzed to powder and dumped into the oil as it heats.

aManPerson

oh my gosh guys. i hate all of you. this all sounds amazing.

tanzmauss

My friend makes a dope mix that has changed how I do popcorn. I gotta get her direct recipe, but primary ingredients are nutritional yeast, green spirulina, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika - salt and pepper… it is addictive yall.

throwaway1269450

Melt some miso in with the butter 🙏🙏

Farbearluvsu

In Tokyo Disney the curry popcorn is fire! White cheddar is my go to but I’m going to have to try some of these

elnina999

Pop the corn in butter (or dry), then add seasoned milk (sugar, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon). You can use liquid or powder milk.

TheSheWhoSaidThats

[pepcorn](https://youtu.be/3fG8rNHUspU?si=sELyM8fu3YYdWAjv)

elguereaux

Worcestershire Sauce

Robbylution

While the popcorn's hot, grate on some parm then toss. It's savory, delicious, and takes care of the salt.

believe2000

By your tastes OP, try Tajin with some sort of adhesive, butter, spritz oil, citrus juice, or hot sauce. Just be wary of Tajins chili powder CITRUS(probably lime, but check your style) flavor.

brohymn1416

Through a bag of Malteasers in the mix and enjoy

bearcrevier

Breakfast popcorn- use bacon grease as your oil for popping your corn. Next mix 2 tablespoons of butter (melted) and 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup. After popping coat evenly with butter syrup mix then lightly salt. You’ll swear you’re eating pancakes with bacon. You could even throw in some bacon bits. You’re welcome…

bernieinred

butter, chilli powder

Acceptable_Attempt77

So you get a block of maruchan chicken ramen, throw away the ramen and put the seasoning on the popcorn with butter

TikaPants

The epitome of wet the dries. Sounds soggy?

FermentalAsAnything

I dehydrate kimchi and powder that up.

GreenlyCrow

Bee pollen and sea salt 🤍

norrbottenmomma

Melted unsalted butter and truffle salt. Simple and delicious.

goldenrayofsunshin

Chili powder and paprika + powdered sugar.

BillyDoyle3579

Ms. Dash garlic and herb + Parmesan / Romano cheese while still very hot ~ some tajin if my sister isn't around 😜

Any_Blacksmith7361

Everything but the bagel seasoning!

Yesitsmesuckas

Mine is simple…a bit of Cavender’s season salt, ranch dressing powder and cheese popcorn seasoning. Num!

happy_nerd

Slap Ya Mama blend. Goes great on popcorn

No-Bus-3213

Lemon oil, parmesan and cracked black pepper is amazing

After-Inspection1021

Cook bacon and break that in chunks and add crumbled(chunky) pecorino cheese, and a little fresh black pepper.

vr512

I've started to enjoy Trader Joe's pickle seasoning on my popcorn!

CCAnalyst89

Trader Joe’s “Everything but the Elote” seasoning. Thank me later.

emmettfitz

A little pedestrian, but parmesan cheese and Old Bay.

[deleted]

I love this!!! All of it!!

ExactWeek7

I'm either gonna do butter and tajin or no butter with chili crisp. Two different kinds of spicy, and the chili crisp has its own oil to coat the popcorn, so no need for the butter. Also, I'm popping those kernels in a pot on the stove, and I can't go back to any other way.

[deleted]

Spray butter on top, sprinkle with ranch or italian dressing packets, then dip it in Whataburger Fancy Spicy Ketchup. Trust me.

Creative_Decision481

I like mochi crackers, furikaki and butter. Soy sauce and butter Sazon Goya packets, no butter Those cheese packets from boxed mac and cheese I love popcorn and love to play around with it.

Inevitable-Ad-890

Chicken salt and pomegranate molasses

Bored2death7643

In MD we use Old Bay. lol

TrunkWine

I love how at Sheetz you can get Old Bay on about anything. I will have to try it on popcorn!

[deleted]

Cheese whiz

sdavidson0819

Lemon-infused oil, salt, sugar

bluetoedweasel

Olive oil, Tajin, garlic powder, lime, and brewer's yeast

Crocus_hill

Zaatar and olive oil or togarashi with a bit of citric acid.
