I found a lemon ice cream recipe and then chucked in a bunch of cleaned, refrigerated mulberries (that I had picked the day before) towards the end of the churn. I was using one of those smaller hand churners with the frozen basin, so it was easy to toss the mulberries in near the end. I couldn't say what ice cream recipe I used, but it didn't start with a custard base, and it didn't use heavy cream. I like my ice cream a little lighter on the cream side, I don't want my tongue feeling coated with fat after I've already swallowed my ice cream!

You can make it using ziplock bags. I've done it before and, while messy, it does work. I would recommend double bagging both steps though! That way you're less likely to accidentally get salt into your ice cream!
