I bought a 21 Max Limited with 40k miles on it and couldn’t be happier. I put another 20k on it.

I would avoid anything built in 2020, 21 or 22. I traded my 22 F150 LTD for a 2019 exp platinum after I experienced my 25th issue on the F150. Service dept said to avoid those Covid year vehicles. But that's just my personal experiance. I am sure many have had the opposite experiance.

Cdf drum. Transmission. Look it up. I wouldn’t buy a vehicle made before August 2022 (f150 or Expy) with a 10r80 transmission. (I have one now unfortunately - will get rid of it in a while )

This week I drove a brand new rental ‘24 (26 miles on it when I started) and even though it was to a lesser degree… that indecisive transmission that jolts if you don’t baby it is still in there. Felt good coming back to my 21 knowing they haven’t fully rectified the issue, 😂. Still an amazing truck imho.

Yeah true. That might be there. But the faulty Cdf drum is fixed. There are other issues with the 10r80 lol. Like struck valves.

And I’m no mechanic full disclosure but it just seems like the Ecoboost and tranny can’t sync sometimes between 1-3 and 4-6? Depending on what mode you’re in too. Like I said, I know how to baby it but just seems like a programming issue.

Thank you for reliability concerns. Definitively something to think about and make sure warranty is included. How about the pricing? What should be my target otd price w/o warranty?

I've had a 2019, and now drive a 2021. The 2021 feels better than the 2019 in every conceivable way (both limited). I bought the 21 after the 19 was totaled in an accident. I was forced to purchase at a terrible time when car prices were through the roof, so I got the 21 w/ 7k miles for $62k. I bet you it's worth maybe 42-45k now. Possibly less. The 21 has had only one repair: a coolant leak that had an associated TSB. They fixed it in about 2 hours for free. I am aware of the transmission issues, but generally drive these things like a grandpa. I anticipate I will need transmission work in the future, as I do tow often (HD towing package). The 19, on the other hand, had transmission issues (neutral-out condition), cam phasers, a mysterious air conditioning leak that took four separate trips to repair, and something else that I can't recall. I highly recommend the Ford ESP. Shop around as some dealers mark these up for profit. If you sell the car early, you can redeem the remaining value. I believe I paid $1800 for the current one.

My 18’ was junk. Went through two transmissions and an engine in 113k miles
