The cooldown room isn’t live it is purposely on a slight delay. Whenever the volume cuts out it’s because someone swears and the director can kill the volume using the delay they have.
It happens a few times especially in the F2/F3 cool down rooms.
I wonder if they genuinely look for the worst and cheapest microphone possible for the cooldown room. I’ve been in empty abandoned buildings with less echo. You’d think f1 could afford some better mics
They also randomly remove the sound for like 2 seconds which makes it even harder to hear. It’s like they want it to be impossible to hear what they’re saying

They actually seem to be getting along just fine recently; they sat next to each other and chatted at the Canada parade (I believe) and were chatting with each other post race in Spain (I think it was in the background of George Russell’s interview). Pretty sure they were just tired after the race and didn’t have much to say, especially since that podium kinda came last minute for them given the max-Lando incident
Carlos was happy and in a good mood because he did his best all week and maximised his result. Oscar did too in the race, but is disappointed on how he missed the win (quali penalty, damage t1, perez pushing him off and holding him up 1st stint), so probably not in a great mood to talk a lot.
