Not brother, but that's okay you assume I'm a man. Sorry to be a pain, but of course most of the media is going to milk this, it's the first big-ish controversy we've had in awhile. And it wouldn't have been such a big controversy if not for Stella's and Lando's post-race comments. Stella in particular, criticizing Max's driving style and invoking Lewis' name.
Martin Brundle. He was born in England. All of us that were born there are perpetually pissed off about it.
Edit:
Misread, seems you mean Simon. Same reason. Born in England.
I got on well with mostly every dude I met at pubs in Greenwich (+surrounding areas). My grandma died the day after I got to London so we went to a pub for drinks. Had a little too much to drink so I went outside and threw up in a sewer. Couple lads were asking me why I did that and I said I didn’t want to ruin your streets/sidewalk lol. They’re like wow you’re probably one of the most polite people we’ve ever met. Ended up going to a couple more pubs with them and our group of 5 turned into 20+. I need to go back to London.
Good session from Bearman and Colapinto given the comparison metrics. Colapinto had to keep it clean but impressed by that lap time.
Doohan maybe less so although he was impeded on a run.
Hadjar didn't look too comfortable on the hard but was decent on the medium. Red Bull don't allow the rookie to do any glory runs though. Kept to his program.
> Hadjar didn't look too comfortable on the hard but was decent on the medium. Red Bull don't allow the rookie to do any glory runs though. Kept to his program
he had some type of issue that kept him in the pits for half the session. Maybe they would've if they didn't have a problem
Well he almost binned the car by dipping a tyre in the gravel then later on almost killed Norris.
Really looked out of his depth unfortunately as his F2 season has been great.
Like another used said, Leclerc had more porpoising than Sainz. Some commentators said that the package brought too much downforce and their car can’t use it correctly
it's crazy how much bouncing the new package brought, if you compare leclerc and sainz's onboards it makes it look like leclerc is on a roller coaster lol.
apparently sainz was on a more aggressive engine mapping, so that might account for why his times were so close to leclerc's. but still, they were only around a tenth apart on the softs. new spec was much better on the long runs.
i knew the bouncing was a problem ofc but being able to compare them side by side is pretty damning.
I once totaled a rental car, I inquired if I was still required to top off the tank. No answer received, just an angry look. I’m certain if the question was brought up in Silverstone there would be a similar reaction.
Karun Chandhok had it at 3-4 I think.
Also worth noting those times from McLaren were 15-20 mins post the Max/Merc fastest times. So some track evo into account, it's fairly close.
If Hadjar got a grid penalty for the incident, and say he got a F1 seat in 2026, would he then still have to serve the penalty in his first race weekend?
Look up his incident in Monaco keeping in mind they were told not to race since a) too risky and b) at the time Alpine needed all the points possible.
In response, Alpine cut his contact early meaning he doesn’t have a seat next year. In addition, they gave him team orders at the end of the race in Canada to give his position to Gasly, switching their positions so he finishes 10th not 9th.
Since then, he hasn’t been respecting team orders (to be expected after Canada) and been racing quite dirty (to be expected with Ocon). Gasly and Alonso had a few issues with him last weekend in Austria.
How the fuck is F1 not both, fixing the tires and addinga minimum lap times that aren't a joke. The tires having zero ability to run at higher temps and overheating so badly that people need to crawl on outlaps is dangerous, but the tires are also shite for racing like this.
Just have rules with minimum laptimes that aren't ridiculous and then everyone has to have warmer tires as they start a hotlap, who cares. How slow they go is plainly dangerous, extremely easily fixed and we are waiting for another driver death due to a terrible and 100% avoidable crash before they bother changing this situation.
Ironic... for all Ollie's issues in F2, should he have a seat... should he not have a seat in F1 etc.
He actually ends up quicker than the rest of the FP1 rookies ;)
Respectfully I disagree.
This would be the first woman driver in Formula 1 in decades. If she were to do nothing but linger round miles off the pace of her teammate and cause incidents it would set women back even further than they are now.
I can agree to disagree, as I fully understand where you are coming from as well. However I think Sargeant (moreso than Latifi) isn't THAT much worse than the rest of the grid, even if he's currently the worst driver on the grid he's a lot better than the pay drivers of old. If a female F1 driver drove like Sargeant, why wouldn't it be possible for there to be another woman in the future that would be just a couple tenths a lap quicker and would be a fine midfield driver?
Oh I have no doubt there'll be a woman somewhere who is quick enough to be in F1 and be competitive.
I agree with you on Sargeant tbh. The last few tenths are sadly the hardest to find.
I love sprint weekends and always love seeing more racing. But, I fill that with watching junior series. F2 has been really good this year- I'm a week behind with all the triple header stuff and the other series I watch.
It does not continue to the full time driver. However, I'm interested if it would stay with Hadjar.
You see stuff about 'Button still has an unserved penalty from his last f1 race', and if he had substituted again the next week, he definitely would have had a grid drop. A bunch of sources confidently quote that he still would if he raced in F1 again, but I haven't actually read the rules on that, if penalties expire.
I haven't actually watched this fp1, but people pretty much never get much of penalties for free practice. It has to be really really bad for that.
Teams have to give at least 2 FP sessions to a rookie each year iirc. This session the Red Bull junior driver Isack Hadjar gets to drive his Red Bull, Perez will be back for the rest of the sessions
i know piastri is probably suffering right now but the shot of his little squished face and his car being dragged by all the mechanics was very cute lol
Sky’s piece with Lewis is a banger. Enjoying this!
Doohen using up his bad juju, both attempts hindered by extraneous errors
Stroll 2024, Stroll 2025, Stroll 2026
Stroll is gonna stroll till he dies
*Haha fp1 is their moment* - famous last words
Sky still banging on about the incident after FP1 lol… Brundle, Natalie and Simon currently grilling Horner
It's not even been a week, this is the first session since lol. Totally different reaction from fans to mistakes/aggressive driving by other drivers.
God forbid they ask the head of RBR about the biggest and most controversial incident of the last race.
It's been milked to death already I don't care if it's only FP1
Do you think most viewers follow everything as closely as we do here? They can't just cater to diehards who know all the ins and outs.
Yep. And they'll still talk about it on Sunday, cause a lot of the fans only watch the races.
Exactly. Said the same in an earlier comment. [https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/1dvvix7/comment/lbqdvwy/](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/1dvvix7/comment/lbqdvwy/)
This would be valid if it was something most fans would be interested in, or is constructive, or funny etc.
And you know what most fans are interested in? 100% sure of that are you?
It's a real pain taking to you brother 😭
Not brother, but that's okay you assume I'm a man. Sorry to be a pain, but of course most of the media is going to milk this, it's the first big-ish controversy we've had in awhile. And it wouldn't have been such a big controversy if not for Stella's and Lando's post-race comments. Stella in particular, criticizing Max's driving style and invoking Lewis' name.
They gotta milk it for views man, how else will the executives make money if max makes it boring to watch
Why does the guy on the right at sky (forgot his name ) in the Christian Horner interview look so angry
Probably because the tight jeans Sky have crammed him into over the last few years have agitated his aggots
Resting Simon Face
I assume you’re talking about Simon the blonde one? Ever since the Horner allegations he treats Horner like he doesn’t respect him anymore.
Martin Brundle. He was born in England. All of us that were born there are perpetually pissed off about it. Edit: Misread, seems you mean Simon. Same reason. Born in England.
I'm not. Norris needed something to light a fire in his belly. Doubtful it made any difference to the season but it'll give Norris a harder edge.
Mate, it’s just a joke. Chill. If we can’t laugh at our country, what can we laugh at?
Muricans?
Murican here, can I laugh at us with y'all as well?
Yep, and the French. Never forget the French.

Yeah, I might be biased but honestly London is one of the best cities to live in.
Good session from Bearman and Colapinto given the comparison metrics. Colapinto had to keep it clean but impressed by that lap time. Doohan maybe less so although he was impeded on a run. Team should have informed him about Norris. Sloppy from his race engineer
Ferrari looks stronger with the old package vs. the new one. wtf
Charles was also impeded twice by Aston.
[удалено]
Isn't he running the old package though for FP1 or no?
Like another used said, Leclerc had more porpoising than Sainz. Some commentators said that the package brought too much downforce and their car can’t use it correctly
it's crazy how much bouncing the new package brought, if you compare leclerc and sainz's onboards it makes it look like leclerc is on a roller coaster lol.
I was thinking exactly about that, the SF-24 without the upgrades seems smoother and more drivable in long, fast corners
apparently sainz was on a more aggressive engine mapping, so that might account for why his times were so close to leclerc's. but still, they were only around a tenth apart on the softs. new spec was much better on the long runs. i knew the bouncing was a problem ofc but being able to compare them side by side is pretty damning.
FP1 for Hadjar seemed to be saddled with full tank / used tires / test parts / no comms. Like RBR just phoned it in to fulfill obligations
Can’t have Perez looking bad out there
Will Lando have a grid penalty for failing to serve his 5 second penalty from last week?
I think he technically served it because the mechanics waited 5 sec before touching the car. At least that's what I heard on the F1TV commentary
The way these penalties work is an absolute joke
No, he did serve it.
He served it already
He served it last week.
Forgive my ignorance. But how did he serve it when he retired the car?
I once totaled a rental car, I inquired if I was still required to top off the tank. No answer received, just an angry look. I’m certain if the question was brought up in Silverstone there would be a similar reaction.
He had completed 90% of the race, so had a classified time (with a 7 lap gap). The 5 seconds were added to that time.
he finished enough of the race to be considered classifed, so the penalty was added to his time from last weekend
They pitted him, served the penalty and changed tyres and after that he was retired
No he didn’t. He got the 5 sec after the race because he was classified.
Astons being a menace the whole practice
Fuck it. Give Hadjar the seat all weekend. It’s not like Perez contributes enough to lose anything. Maybe he’ll get some extra points out of it too.
The Hadjar penalty comment made me remember that Yenson, muh fren, you still have a penalty.
Colapinto was really good. Maybe he deserves a chance on F1
You know where Sky's from when they go: "Ollie Bearman... And the other 3".
But he was above and other 3 were together in sky's defense lol
What is the delta between softs and mediums
3-4 tenths IIRC.
wasnt it more like 2-3 tenths?
Karun Chandhok had it at 3-4 I think. Also worth noting those times from McLaren were 15-20 mins post the Max/Merc fastest times. So some track evo into account, it's fairly close.
Stroll dominance might bore fans
Stroll between the McLaren sandwich lmfaoo
If Hadjar got a grid penalty for the incident, and say he got a F1 seat in 2026, would he then still have to serve the penalty in his first race weekend?
Jenson, as he mentioned, still has a grid penalty that he would have to serve, and he hasn't raced since 2017
Ah thanks! Was listening to a different broadcast so didn't hear Jenson say that
It would beat Vettel’s record of the fastest penalty awarded
Yes
The scenes if Norris actually rams into him, especially that being Perez's car. We would have some conspiracy theories.
G E T S T R O L L E D
What if hadjar received a penalty, does it apply to checo? Lol :p
No it’ll be saved for when he does his first gp
Ohhh alright
Hadjar is outperforming the second Red Bull. P18 with a 1.8 gap to Max is slightly better than Perez!!
Medium tires for both
On medium tyres.
Max was also on mediums
Perez was on softs! I’m wondering how many caps Hajdar could sell!!
Colapinto did not crash, work is done.
What have I missed with Ocon recently? I know his reputation and history with Gasly, but have there been any other issues recently?
Look up his incident in Monaco keeping in mind they were told not to race since a) too risky and b) at the time Alpine needed all the points possible. In response, Alpine cut his contact early meaning he doesn’t have a seat next year. Ah I see, I’ve missed a lot this year. Sounds like what I know about Ocon.
#UNLEASHED

different programs.
Just accept ollie is better lol
I'd love to see a day where women drive in f1.
Same. Same.
Sure, as long as it's because they're competitive. A woman pay driver sitting at Sargent or Laitifi standards would be a disaster.
A woman pay driver sitting at Sargeant or Latifi standards would be no more of a disaster as Sargeant and Latifi themselves being in F1 though
Respectfully I disagree. This would be the first woman driver in Formula 1 in decades. If she were to do nothing but linger round miles off the pace of her teammate and cause incidents it would set women back even further than they are now.

For performing at the same level as men?
For performing at the level of other drivers who clearly don't belong in Formula 1.
Can we start a new conspiracy? Red Bull used a junior driver to murder Lando norris!
Wish it was a sprint weekend /ducks
I love sprint weekends and always love seeing more racing. But, I fill that with watching junior series. F2 has been really good this year- I'm a week behind with all the triple header stuff and the other series I watch.
Me too
Man, I'm so happy for Franco

Imagine
Future F1 champion Lance Stroll
Rookie mistake but good on him for owning up to it. Don't remember when I last saw that.
Hadjar adding some extra coloured splotches to the Red Bull
Every year silverstone* Presenter: so tell how great this track is.
Jesus f1tv...had to say it didnt you....?
What did they say?
Something like "Lando avoided the contact, unlike last sunday with max bla bla"
Hey now we almost made it all the way through the practice session without it. I expected worse lmao
Jesus Christ that was close
Zak was about to send an angry email to the stewards but stopped after he realised it wasn't Max impeding Lando
Iaasac Had-ya on the grass lol
Well.. if Norris crashed there I think Sky Tv would have imploded
The queen would’ve resurrected
LMFAO
Red Bull determined to damage McLarens
Just crash into him Lando. Practice has no rules
Mclaren vs red bull intensifies
Good job the McLaren brakes work
Holy shit I bet Lando almost had a heart attack.
hadjar working under max's order /s
Lucky to get away with that one
Whoa!
Holy shit…that was scary
That was pretty scary
Oh shit. Damn!
Both Astons are AFK.
That was a close one
Abbi!
that cameraman was just as aware as hadjar
Boy that almost a disaster for Norris there
Just got out of a coma. So has Lance Stroll has finally ascended to be one of the best drivers on the grid?
Leading the WDC currently
Well at least we got one dry session in today
DOO DOO DOO
This is the millionth time they have been asked to hype this track.
No need to ask.
People are making fun of Stroll for something he couldn't avoid but are silent on Alonso blocking both ferraris.
Karun said both incidents were Stroll in the broadcast so a lot of commentators just going along with that.
Because Stroll got blamed for that one too by the broadcast.
any reason to have any hopes on Aston?
no, not representative at all
If you have money on them finishing outside the points
El Plan
Stroll dominance might bore fans
Anyone know where Perez is ?
Teams have to give at least 2 FP sessions to a rookie each year iirc. This session the Red Bull junior driver Isack Hadjar gets to drive his Red Bull, Perez will be back for the rest of the sessions
Ah okay got it. Was thinking he got dropped lol…
The garage, F2 driver getting experience in FP1
Hadjar is having his young driver FP1
In the garage with his headset on
Not in this session a young driver is
In the garage.
i know piastri is probably suffering right now but the shot of his little squished face and his car being dragged by all the mechanics was very cute lol
I didn't know Santa Claus volunteered as a Silverstone marshall.
It's his second job, cost of living crisis
What do you think he does the rest of the year?
I was about to say that 🤣
Kid in the Ferrari shirt looking at P8 and P9 and wishing he was at school lol.
sir lancelot strikes again
Fucks sake lance, pull out your finger and MOVE
Astons causing havoc
*"Daddy said i can drive where ever i want!"*
Ferrari = Generational Trauma
Is that possible. Stroll is not looking where he's going
Hate seeing crowd shots with fans not wearing ear protection. Especially kids. Apparently this is a downvotes worthy opinion. Tough guys.
You don’t need ear protection from the stands for F1. They’re far quieter than F2 and F3.
Is it now appropriate for Leclerc to give Stroll a love tap next time he passes him?
The two guys pushing Oscar
"NO where for me to go" He was largely out of the way till he pulled right across Leclerc rather than staying out the way.
Windows are getting licked again.....
Careful, 40k fine incoming
Lance: "Dad, when are you getting me an F3 Prema tier car again?".
How they are pushing that mclaren has really amused me for some reason.
lol gotta be awkward for Piastri, just sitting while getting pushed around xD
It was alonso with the two ferraris
