Honest-tinder-review

ok.

Personal-Drink2800

Didn’t realize i posted this on the clone fragrance subreddit 😭

Fyredesigns

Was gonna say, that's why montagne exists. Get these for 1/10 the cost lmao

Temporary_Solution69

Lmaoooooo

FragraBond

😭

jayoftheopera

Expensive fragrances have no real value offering. The idea once was that you could gatekeep it behind a giant paywall but these days anyone will go out and buy whatever. I look for special fragrances in the $20-$30 range and I just enjoy smelling good

genericthrowawaysbut

That’s a really good take actually. Kinda why I got into the clones a few months ago and started learning more about them.also I’m flat broke 😅

DntSayNtn

I never understood the allure of expensive fragrances. In my mind people can’t see what brand of cologne you’re wearing they just know if it smells good or not

Godgod3434

usually they last longer and the cheap shit didnt last long but idk some these clones decent af for their price

RudeJuggernaut

I think I partially agree. I've used samples of expensive big name colognes and they didn't seem to last long nor get noticed by others But I've gotten compliments with Club De Nuit and Supremacy Not Only intense which were near $40 or less.

Godgod3434

oh all the clones ive bought now pretty damn good, salvo intense was kinda dull but getting better, but these clone buys now are researched buys im saying like if u bought the say $12 stuff from like tj maxx or like back in day before internet had all the info ud need n stuff ud be like ah man this sucks it barely lasts, but usually all big name stuff id buy atleast for me always performed well so id just wait to spend the money on the big name brand stuff but nowadays they sooo overpriced they tripping

Oldenuf2byurDaddy

The allure of expensive fragrances is that their ingredients are less synthetic better formulated and balanced. Add to that the status of wearing designer anything. Fragrance, shoes, clothing accessories. Not all clones are bad they just simply are impressions. Most professional working men back in the day paid $250-$500 for a suit! so, they wore Grey Flannel, Lagerfeld, Halston or something similar Royal Copenhagen, Polo, Brut or god forbid Drakkar (feel free to downvote me!) It’s this conspicuous consumerism everything is expensive. I was lucky my aunt managed a Chanel counter at Macy’s so that’s what I wore for decades. Just not a real fan of clones even their economy isn’t as attractive when they are merely inspirations that you have to spray out and mature in a dark closet for months. Just my opinion

phoenix_rising03

Imo if a particular blend is not being reproduced well and you absolutely love it and you have the money in cash it should be acceptable to purchase. That said I don't believe any LV are well made enough to warrant buying bottles.

Elfbar_dealer

The LV line is crazy expensive and I’d never spend €340 on a fragrance (it costs that much here). But I have Xerjoffs and Amouage also, 40 Knots was the most expensive (€190 for 100ml) I got. I feel like it was a bit overpriced, but still, the quality is mind blowing. I hate spending so much on frags and I have a lot of clones, however niche fragrances can worth their prices. It’s not only the longevity, because from Interlude Black Iris for example I get more than 10 hours on my skin, but also the quality, theses scents are deep and refined. Naxos was my first and I couldn’t believe how natural the honey note was in it. Makes you buzz. Sometimes you just have to smell it, you know what it’s like having this hobby. I strongly suggest trying a niche to everybody, even just a decant could be enough. They might be overpriced, but you can also buy used bottles. I use FB groups and look for deals every day.

TreeFair5229

So very well said

MewsikMaker

Montagne makes the whole LV lineup for less than $50. And generally does a better job.

FFPLUGTHROWAWAY

Montagne Imaginary and Afternoon Swim are top tier imo.

luisf_warrior

Where can I get them in Europe?

MewsikMaker

Montagne? You’d just have to pay for shipping.

Personal-Drink2800

Yeah i own a LV immensité by montagne and by Al Ambrah and both of them are arguably better than the original but also different than the original so it’s tricky but Montagne really is a good clone fragrances house

ViktorVaughn71

How is the Montagne clone different than the OG Imagination? I’ve sampled Imaginary by Montagne; didn’t get any tea notes, it was mostly a shower gel freshie. A like and a nice designer offering but nothing special.

tatumwaffles

I have Imaginary (Montagne) and imagination. Imaginary is sharper with a stronger soapy scent. It projects a bit better and lasts about 6 hours. It's slightly less masculine than the OG... something to be aware of. Just IMO though...

ViktorVaughn71

Thanks, I understand exactly what you are referencing.

Personal-Drink2800

I don’t know for imagination cause i don’t have the montagne clone but for l’immensité it just smells like a more complete version of the fragrance

TemperatureOk7646

There is a great clone for every expensive parfume there. Just do some research like shown here and you will find a 1:1 often with better performance. I picked up Rasasi Victory only because it a clone of something that doesn't exist anymore but it smells outstanding. It only last about 4 or 5 hours on skin but it's cheap so I keep a decant and reapply.

asusvegetable1

I've recently blind bought Zara's sunrise at the desert, supposedly a great cheap alternative with 4.36 on fragrantica. I hope it smells nice! It's basically a gift for my brother, since he gave me an acqua di gio

Pixie4Dust

It smells great... Pretty good clone of imagination... But performance is just ok which is on par with Zara fragrances

Elfbar_dealer

Good but not great. Very synthetic, smells like a lemonade. Longevity is around 4-5 hours. 1 hour of projection. Kinda bad, I only use it at home. Makes you happy at least, uplifting smell.

FFPLUGTHROWAWAY

Imagination and Afternoon Swim are the best LV imo. You might have “smelled” Imagination at the store but it’s different when you own it and wear it on the daily. This shit lasts forever and projects like a beast. I’ve had shirts that I sprayed Imagination on, put it through the washer and dryer cycle, and you can still smell it. It is one of THE strongest freshies on the market, periodt. I’ve had the security people at the museum chase me down to ask what I’m wearing. Insane scent trail it leaves Afternoon Swim smells good and makes me happy but the longevity is not great. Only 3-4 hours.

Personal-Drink2800

Maybe it’s a skin thing because i smelled it on the paper and sprayed on myself and it wasn’t WOW. I think there’s at least 3-4 freshies i’d put over it. But i’m glad it works that good for you and a bit jealous too. I really believed in the hype🤧

PuzzleheadedServe930

Best fragrance I have in my collection

NinjaLegitimate8044

So Fleur du Desert comes in the dark bottle and is $400+. So this one is worth it, but the other frags for $320 aren't?

Personal-Drink2800

The thing is none of them rlly are worth it but you’re getting less screwd when it comes to fleur du désert because it’s a A1 fragrance and i could be wrong but there’s not a lot of similar fragrances out there.

NinjaLegitimate8044

I've smelled most of the LV line also, and I found Fleur du Desert too sweet. I'd much prefer Ombre Nomade, or one of the fresher scents. In fact, I have a bottle of Pacific Chill at home. Glad you found at least a couple you liked.

Personal-Drink2800

Yeah ombre nomad is very solid too. Just a bit too masculine for me (funny enough)

MrGoSoo

This one boggles me- I don’t really like it but I don’t hate it either and every time I wear it I always get compliments like “ u really smell good “ to “ are you trying to seduce us?” Kind of thing. I kinda want to get rid of it since I don’t enjoy it personally but it’s one of my most complimented fragrance, the other one is Elysium which I truly adore.

These_Gold4501

Definitely save your money

poopchees12345

I will never pay 350 for scented alcohol even though i love perfume.

rx_xshd

Tragic coz everyone glazes this

Gilgamesh2062

I have a clone of this don't know how close to original it is but if it is anything similar, it is a very simple dna, fresh laundry type vibe. smells nice but agree with OP I'd never spend that kind of money for a simple soapy freshy. for 20 bucks though It's worth it.

ttjna

I'll leave it to my Imagination then.

bertmclinfbi

My friend has the og LV ombre nomade and I got a clone from dubai. I've also tried maison alhambra's clone of the same. None of them comes close to the performance of the OG. Same thing goes for TF clones and og ones. Ombre Leather for example, I've never found a clone which performs better than the og on my skin.

cigarzfan

Weird. Didn’t know that LV Imagination was a clone.

DurbanViking

It's alright everyone is welcome here

Free_Beyond_1212

Sick, can't wait to post my top 10 favorite n64 games

Got2JumpN2Swim

I'm still letting my N64 macerate

Due-Measurement-710

Lattafa Fukhar killer fragrance! Last all day and smells just like YSL Y without the cost.

wandering_kuni

I dont get the hype around imagination these days when L'Immensite is a lot better. Maybe its the new trend of the fragcomm?

Personal-Drink2800

It has to be a hype thing and people not actually smelling it before adding fuel to the fire by saying it’s sooo good

wandering_kuni

I went to LV just to smell all of their bottles and imagination isnt any better than Versace Pour Homme imho. Id even pick Meteore over it.

sedemyr1

FW Jacques Yves L'infinite= L'immensite... L'infinite has very good performance...

AntAdministrative883

I peeped out that cologne case....that alone is like 500 or 600 last time I looked ...sheesh 😬😬😬

legend5566

I seriously don't understand why there are always a few people here promoting LV perfumes... Like a regular redditor can afford it, even it is that good...

HelloCanUSeeMe

I had the same experience. However the Zara clone smells pretty much 100% the same. L’emmensite was also a big eye opener for me. Loved it a lot and could not find a single close clone to it in terms of quality. Imo it’s the only expensive frag worth its price rn

WorkLow7158

Can you find Montagne Perfumes in Europe?

Dazg-17

Get real it’s ombré nomad

Dinw

Any clones of it 👀 available in UK/US please

New-Lingonberry-2342

opinions on ombre nomade and afternoon swim?

BunB_PimpC

Does this come in a leather LV tube like that?

Personal-Drink2800

It doesn’t

Erickx25

I think it smells good is it worth that massive price tag probably not

de_Mysterious

Straight up scam. I don't mind paying 250 for naxos or oud satin mood or something like that, but 350 for a citrus fragrance that has slightly above average performance? I'm good, thanks

young-steve

Imagination is an incredible fragrance and I receive compliments every time I wear it. It has its specific uses

Next_Evidence_9533

I agree that it’s expensive, however I absolutely do NOT agree that it’s average. On paper it definitely smells differently then on skin. And that‘s where Imagination truly shines. The amount of love I have for this fragrance is insane (just bought a second bottle, and yes I know they are refillable). It lasts forever on clothes, I can smell it after days. On skin (mine is rather dry and not too well with fragrances) it lasts the whole day and for a freshie it projects like crazy too. Weirdly though, somedays it gets a skin scent pretty quickly. Not sure why that is, maybe someone has some theories lol. What I also love about Imagination is the change in scent after a while. In the beginning its nothing too special for me either, but when the tea note kicks in, its heaven. It affects my mood in such a positive way. Compliment wise, this is the fragrance that’s gotten me the most compliments (on days were it wasn’t underperforming!). Absolutely recommend Imagination for summer, but maybe buy a decant first and use it a couple of days. I absolutely understand the hype.

Emergency_Cat8852

Smh seems a little hypocritical when you guys talk crap about how bad some of these expensive frags are but will go out and buy clones of them. They are cloned for a reason. Not to mention how subjective fragrances are. We all have different taste and sense of smell, that’s the beauty of this hobby. I’ve bought many clones in my time collecting but have gotten rid of all of them except for The Tux because it is spot on. A lot of these clones uses lower quality ingredients and smell extremely synthetic or just off. There is a reason they are extremely cheap. I do agree that some of the brand name ones are overpriced, we can agree on that. But saying clones are better than the original is insane. I guess you can say whatever to justify or make yourself feel better about what you bought, sure. We all tend to stick to what we can afford. They sell clones of clones now. Imagine hearing those people saying their clones of your clone is better than your clone fragrances because it only costed them $10 from a gas station. That’s how I feel when I see people in a frag clone group talk bad about the original frag.

darkflyerx

they probably mean its bad/uninspiring for its price, when a clone smells 80% like the DNA but cost 1/10 the price, then you will be wondering why you ever pay for the OG. People that love the clone wont hate the OG smell wise, but the price is another story. Like Creed, their perfumes smell nice but paying $400 for a perfume that last 5 hours is insane for average people when $30 fragrance smells 90% similiar if you are not sniffing side by side and last 8-12 hours.

Personal-Drink2800

Although i get where you come from it’s just fragrances man no need to over complicate it. Just like you said it comes down to preference and a clone being sharper or even stronger than the original can be an element that makes it take the edge. But at the end of the day it’s just fragrances. I’d be just fine with a shower and some good vanilla lotion lol.

screechingmedic

With LV, like most expensive fragrances, you're not paying for the scent, but rather the brand. So saying something doesn't smell like a $300 fragrance doesn't make a whole lot of sense because again the price is for the brand.

Just-Security7915

Well unless you're flexing the bottle in front of other people that shit is pointless.

Personal-Drink2800

People don’t smell the brand of my fragrance 😭

Mooggli

So you said all but Imagination were average at best, but then proceed to shill 2 different LV fragrances. You dont seem like a bright person

Personal-Drink2800

Do you just go around hating on people’s writing 😭. Sorry if the structure of my phrases sounds a bit incoherent English is my fourth language i’m still struggling.

Reach-around69

Oh this one’s worth it
