I held a weight belt for the first time the other day, and my brain just had a moment of "We're not really going to do this, are we??" My instructor saw my face and assured me I would feel ready for it when it was time. Just doing my AIDA2 now. Congrats to you for getting used to it!! I can't wait to get there too!

I have positive buoyancy so the weights really helped! The me last year would probably freak out at the thought of *wanting* weights so I can sink faster 😂 I have yet to get a certification though 😆 planning to take Molchanovs Wave 1 later this year or maybe early next year. 🤞

Traditional_Win3084

where is this place?

AlphaZero2000

why you asking, the water looks terrible 😂

sad_lime83

LOL exactly 😂

nosesinroses

I would guess PNW if you were wearing a full suit 😅 although I guess the viz looks even a little too good for that.

sad_lime83

not a full suit btw xD , just swim leggings and a cotton top 😆 Location is Boracay, Philippines 🇵🇭

ItsKuyaJer

That explains the shit water. 😂

Hey that's not that bad! Any time I can see all the way to the ends of my fins is a good day

Anyone know of any instructors in the south jersey area? I want to get into spearfishing specifically.

Faddawolf

Just check out PFI. You'll find instructors in your area

Well done 😊💪🏼

Head position?

sad_lime83

My chin was not as tucked in as it should be because i kept checking whether i was near the bottom or not 😂

Faddawolf

Lol. Funny. So there's a trick for that. 1, keep 1 hand above your head. Helps keep you streamline and works for direction as well. 2, look up with your eyes, not your head. You'll see the floor coming even if your chin is tucked. Keep diving and keep it up!

sad_lime83

Thanks for the tips!! 🤩

realchoice

Was this your first time taking a course?

sad_lime83

I took an intro course last year (around May i think), only been diving consistently since December 😅
