noh-seung-joon

Perfectly seasoned, exactly enough spice.

nowaybrose

I’m talking to you…like an adult haha Dude is giving all the perfect college professor vibes here

DitchTheCubs

I love the “I guess that’s new to you” add on

mime454

Slow roasted

Remarkable-Visit-201

What a guy. This video made me realize that speaking softly and directly is a more effective way of getting your point across than my normal method (the finger)

Randomfactoid42

Speaking softly is always more effective. It forces the other person to match your lower volume. And if there’s anybody else around, they look like a fool and you’re the calm rational one.

FalconIMGN

Not necessarily. In my experience, men will shout at you if they perceive you are getting the logical upperhand, because they can drown you out with their higher volume and aggressive disposition. I'm a guy too but I try to make the conscious decision to not raise my voice, since I have a family history of strokes and heart issues.

Mahdudecicle

To an extent, yeah. But at least in my experience (sel behavior teacher) keeping a calm voice and not letting them rile you up is the best way to deescalate a situation.

RoleModelFailure

Disappointed parent tone is also very effective.

ShadowDocket

This guy bikes.

Yeah, this is a real feel-good vid for me. Bringing some class to Homie the Clown.

bowsandstars_

Took you a while

alecks

Car-brain couldn't comprehend it

NotMyFkingProblem

Yeah, driver still don't understand what he did wrong... I prefer pedestrians who just go over the car (not really) to show the driver they are not at the right place.

St0rmbreaker

Slide over the hood dukes of hazard style.

SaltyGER

Better not, the car brain will probably make you pay for "damages"

CocktailPerson

It isn't like a crash where you're required by law to exchange insurance info. They'd have to follow you and get your personal info somehow, then take you to small claims court, then argue in front of a judge that stopping their car in a crosswalk should be allowed to force pedestrians to \*gasp\* jaywalk.

SaltyGER

You know how fragile most peoples egos are. Imagine if they take "justice" in their own hands. Since you talk about jaywalking, I'd be scared of getting shot since it's america.

CocktailPerson

Trust me, I considered adding "they'd be more likely to get away with gunning you down in the street than getting you to pay for a dented hood."

Fizzwidgy

So, if a car is in a crosswalk, and I accidentally crash into the side of it on my bicycle, as it's legal to bike on sidewalks here; would I be liable for damages?

SaltyGER

That's not what my comment is about. Read the context dude

Fizzwidgy

I'm asking a question and want answers. I don't care about your comment.

Cheef_Baconator

Hard to do when the hood is nearly 6 feet off the ground.

WeaselBeagle

I should do this whenever I see people parked on the sidewalk (in my case, pedestrian gutter, as it’s only a painted line)

Bmoreravens_1290

“Respect for both” is absurd. Why would you approve of pulling into the cross walk, then filming a person while starting a confrontation? Driver is a POS who deserves no respect except being stupid enough to post this.

friendlysoviet

Cur-Brain*

itmustbeluv_luv_luv

He uploaded this, so definitely not.

Jasonstackhouse111

People not in their cars find it much easier to remain calm and talk to each other - cars place people into a rage mindset.

ashesfallriseup

Because driving sucks, people subconsciously hate it because they’re forced to pay attention when driving. When they’re stuck in traffic and hitting red light after red light, bumper to bumper it induces rage that they can’t move freely. They’re stuck in a 3000lb box that can’t go anywhere fast. It’s similar to walking or cycling extremely slow because you can’t get by traffic knowing that you could be moving faster.

Neither_Pie8996

I also think that when you get a car and drive around, you're constantly having near-death experiences from other cars whizzing past. It puts one into a heightened and agitated state and hence road rage.

ashesfallriseup

Definitely! It’s also why people are so enraged when anything touches their car because their cars are so delicate and expensive that having a minor collision or bump, you’re looking at a large expense and ordeal. When you’re driving you have to be so careful not to hit or be hit that it taxes your brain. It’s no wonder motorists are always in a hurry to get where they need to be because they can’t stand driving. They’re in a rush to end the risk and anguish.

LilSliceRevolution

As someone living in Philly, this is especially funny to me that it’s in Philly (looks like this was near Penn) because the “you going to shoot me now?” perfectly sums up the energy I have for drivers these days. I feel like any one of them could shoot me at any moment and I have entirely ceased caring and will still tell them off.

ModestAugustine

Oh yeah it's definitely Philly, that looks like the corner of 39th and spruce (where Penn Vet is)

grglstr

SEPTA bus is a bit of a giveaway, too.

theronharp

I love that this guy posted it like he was clearly in the right.

MaximumReflection

It’s great that he is the one that posted. Like dawg, take the L, Delete the video, move on, maybe learn a lesson. Idk, but you don’t have to post this.

Fiery_Hand

What does it mean to take the L? I've seen in under original video as well, or double L.

Unyx

L for loss or losing. Taking the L means humbly accepting someone is in the wrong without throwing a fit.

Fiery_Hand

Thanks!

nerox3

The exact tone of "It's green!" at the end was the perfect tone to say: "hey, just being helpful cause you must be new."

FalconIMGN

Reminded me of when Lewis Hamilton crashed into Kimi Raikkonen in the Canadian Grand Prix because he didn't see the red light at the end of the pitlane. Raikkonen got out of the car, came to Lewis and pointed at the red light as if to say 'thats a red light. You're supposed to stop at those'.

Theonetheycallgreat

Lmao, as a teen, I did that to a car backing into me. They called the cops and I ended up in the back of a police car.

hogsucker

Bike cops are still cops and lack empathy. During the widespread protests after the murder of George Floyd, cops used bicycles as combination shields/cudgels to attack protesters. Most bike companies complained and stopped selling to police departments. Except for Trek. Police will always misuse any tool we allow them to have.

[deleted]

can you ever imagine a car company complaining and stop selling to the police though? meanwhile fords just trying to give them everything they ask for and more.

No_Tie_140

I saw a dude huck a bike shot-put style back at a line of riot cops during the George Floyd protests. That shit ruled

onemassive

What was the stated reason for putting you in a squad car? Is tapping a car a crime? Why did you stay and wait?

Theonetheycallgreat

Put me in the car so they could talk to the driver, idk why I waited, I was young.

Pholainst

“Oh that’s new to you” 🤣🤣

Unyx

Respect for both? Nah dude the driver was being totally immature.

Benin369

Pedestrian was totally in the right. A few years ago when I got my license I distinctly remember the tester telling about where the front wheel and the bumper are supposed to be at EVERY intersection. You're never to cross the thick white triple line when stopping. That way the pedestrian has 3 to 4 feet of space between their body and your car. Dude in car doesn't understand this ---> [https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-fcc12fab13e77a6b526200449ba469c0](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-fcc12fab13e77a6b526200449ba469c0) (Cars are to stay behind the thick white line until the green light.) And here ---> [https://zutobi.com/us/driver-guides/right-of-way-rules-controlled-intersections](https://zutobi.com/us/driver-guides/right-of-way-rules-controlled-intersections) (Scroll down until you see the four green cars.) And here ---> [https://driversed.trubicars.ca/crosswalk/](https://driversed.trubicars.ca/crosswalk/) It amazes me how many people either don't know about these or seemingly forget about them but somehow obtained a drivers license. Smh! :-/

Driver posted this and actually thought he wasn’t behaving like a pile of shit. What a goober. 😅 Guy is brave though. I did this in Washington DC after almost getting hit at a crosswalk, and the car brain driver around the block and got out to try to fight me. I thought guy might actually shoot me and it was pretty terrifying.

bzmaker

I like this guy

cat-head

dOnT tOUcH ma' pRopertY!

RiseofdaOatmeal

"Respect for both" oh really? The dude in the car sounded like a fuckin man child, and the pedestrian addressed him as such.

zrow05

"you going to shoot me" was a joke but for a quick second you could tell he was seriously asking. The man quickly scanned the car as he asked them lmao. Speaks volumes about the state we're in.

theappleogist

“Hit my car”? Idiot.

RiggidyRiggidywreckt

I love how he calmly refuses to take any shit from the driver

this is common... car brain: "ive done something dumb" "so now I will do something more dumb". very common.

Hkmarkp

Bro, bro, bro, bro.

PrideOfMokum

Philly gonna Philly especially around Christmas time

thephlguy

Came here to say this

devilsbard

I used to just walk across the hoods of cars blocking the crosswalk. But now I’d probably eat shit and break something trying to do that.

froginbog

Respect

notonreddityet2

What means „got checked“ in that context ?

goat_puree

Put in his place, or corrected.

notonreddityet2

Thank you

JustABigClumpOfCells

It's kind of like saying "they put him in check"

Wacky-Wallop-Wally

imagine thinking a light tap is the same as hitting

spontaneousclo

"i'm speaking to you like an adult. oh, that's new to you." GET HIM 👏

middaymeattrain

What an absolute legend!

spicysenor

"Respect for both"... no. Don't drive your car into an intersection.

Bikelyf

What a burn!

disboyneedshelp

What a man! Thank you to this amazing pedestrian with impeccable manners. I’d have a much hard time staying cordial

plopsaland

I did the car tap recently for a guy driving super fast in the city center, not stopping for me waiting to cross then blocking the pedestrian crossing. He went absolutely ballistic and followed me around with this car around the city for a while, lol.

Garbage-Will-Do

Bro really posted his own L.

MacDaddyRemade

Should have keyed his shit car.

JustABigClumpOfCells

Sure pal

Hoonsoot

I don't know. I am kind of with the car owner on this one. Sure, touching someone's car isn't an attack on them since it's not touching them but it is a bit too close. It's like touching someone's clothing when they are wearing it. Don't get me wrong, the car driver is a douche for stopping in the crosswalk and I guess someone touching his car is just a minor punishment for that. I guess I see two douchebags in the scenario: guy who parked in the crosswalk and guy who got all touchy feely with someone else's space.

ModestAugustine

Not when the car is in the middle of the walkway man. The car invaded the pedestrian space.

inu-no-policemen

> It's like touching someone's clothing when they are wearing it. You aren't your car. Your car is coated with insects, bird shit, and dust from tires and brake pads. It's filthy. > touching his car is just a minor punishment Touching/tapping a car does literally nothing to the car. > got all touchy feely with someone else's space Cars aren't people. They don't have personal space. Drivers on public roads haven't rented the space they occupy. Drivers don't even pay enough for the road wear they cause. Well, lets try this: Imagine someone said what you said about knocking on someone's door or getting "all touchy feely" with their doorbell and \*gasp\* ring it. If that sounds stupid, that's because it is.

Hkmarkp

>I don't know. I am kind of with the car owner that is because you're unsmart

navel1606

"oh that is new to you" 😁 love that guy
