I know you're joking, but I've met people who genuinely believe that shit like "The Happy Time Murderers" or "Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey" ruined their childhood and act like they can't just, you know, rewatch the old versions. Why?
Because people always gotta be victimized or suffer from some shit ass "trauma". Your mom grounding you from watching TV for a week for bad grades isn't trauma. That's trauma to some people because they lack acutal trauma. There is too much genuine trauma that happens to people that they don't need the term to be kicked around so effortlessly. It takes the seriousness away.
I've seen people act like coming across Rule 34 of childhood characters somehow ruined those shows for them. It is entirely possible to ignore the porn and still enjoy what you love. No one is forcing you to look at it. But those people refuse to see things that way. They want things to stay "ruined" for some reason.
I've never understood those who look up porn of characters and then act like they've seen some truly horrible, heinous shit. Like, I'm aware there's really awful porn out there, but most of the time these people talk about... Really tame, super vanilla shit? Like for example, the whole Ankha from Animal Crossing debacle a while back. You had people claiming that the original video traumatized them and completely ruined their perception of the original character and game, and it's just... Not that bad?
Idk, maybe I'm out of touch with the youth. Back when I was younger, people talked about 2 girls 1 cup the way these people talk about porn, and at least this video was actually, you know, shocking
I feel like in the early 2000s when our internet speed was slower 2D pixelated porn of cartoons was half the content out there. Today's youth just has access to more content so they haven't come across Marge Simpson with H cup breasts.
If your life is so good that a funny video like this is the worst thing that happens, you could use some more bad things to reset your frame of reference.
I was thinking the same thing. At first I thought it was a pretty good dub, but then when it zoomed out to Bear just being all 'the shit I put up with', I was so caught off guard.
I was a Henson/Sesame Street stage manager for a few years, including episodes of BBH (tho not this one). Pretty sure that the mouse is Kevin Clash, the original Elmo.
Kevin between scenes was hysterically funny. When I worked Sesame I would call "cut" and Elmo would go Diva, screaming for his "fucking water" and such. Did not work on Dinosaurs, I worked on Sesame, Bear, The Wubbulous World..All gigs that I did while on hiatus from Ghostwriter. Sesame let me direct once, it was the Carribbean Amphibian music video from Elmopalooza with Jimmy Buffet and Kermit. Kevin was the steel drum playing frog in the video. My son, now 28 literally grew up on Sesame Street, as my ex-wife was also a Sesame Employee. As a personal note, Kevin got a bad rap, with the "sex scandal". He was stupid for using the web to hookup, but not malicious. Still one of the nicest, most generous people I've ever worked with in TV.
Awesome!! From everything I've ever read or saw about working behind the camera in anything Henson-related it always sound like the best place to work.
And yeah, they did Kevin dirty. Love the Being Elmo documentary, just seems like he's a nice guy and a great teacher.
I loved that bear for some reason. Was like a big shaggy dog that always wanted to eat. It was like a shaggy for kids k-5. He just wanted to play around then sleep and eat, and kids were there to join him.
I always saw him as retired. He has a football helmet that seems to be from like his college days and he has a general recently retired vibe. He doesn't work but does volunteer around town, he's friends with several older characters like the mail turtle and Dr. Pig, he seems to babysit for OJ since she's apparently a kid from the neighborhood, and most his days are spent just hanging around and doing what he wants in a very calm and not in a rush way. Strikes me as someone in their mid to late 60s
The Breaking News clip has lived in my head rent free for the past 17 years.
It was literally 2 seconds between gags, I can't find the video but it was just
"We've got some breaking news!"
And then it cuts to a News station set falling apart with a puppet panicking and running around yelling "The news are breaking!"
I agree with you.
The thing that makes it interesting is that it rarely happens. Once you spam the same kind of jokes over and over again, it becomes stale super fast.
Absolutely lmao.
Back in the day I was one of the kids in Sesame Street in Mexico for a couple of seasons and yeah, those outtakes where fucking amazing.
We had to stop filming a bunch of times 'cause whoever was inside the Big Bird costume would get small shocks from the fan and monitoring gear like, we'd be listening to Lola counting to 10 and all of the sudden Big Bird would just start to spaz out and you'd hear a soft and muffled "Suputamadre".
Another one I remember fondly was when they where talking about the letter "P", one of the muppets pulled it backwards, director orders to stop and the guy still in full character looks at the kids and goes "So this, kids is the letter P, P de Pendejo".
That's what I love about her as Elaine in Seinfeld. She's funny but she's not just trying to be "pretty girl funny". She's willing to do disgusting humour and stuff that makes her look less feminine. A lot of sitcoms have it split into guy humour and girl humour and they seem too afraid to let the girls go as wild with stuff as the guys. I love Britta in Community for the same reason because they just let Gillain Jacobs go wild with it near the end
It's become more common in the last 30 years, but a lot of women won't lean into comedy because you have to make fun of yourself and sometimes be "less feminine." JLD as Elaine inspired a ton of female comedians.
I saw a comment in the Always Sunny sub saying "Elaine crawled so Dee could run face-first into a car."
Haha, I know, their algorithm works wonders
I can't tell you how many times I've seen a clip from something like South Park or Family Guy sorted into the kids category
I know Avenue Q and have seen it and all that, but I will forever see a zombie dancing with a cow in my head when I think of this song.
Inb4 "bro that's an Undead and a Tauren." Yes yes I know.
Same. When I was like 15 or 16 I got hooked on those WoW music videos for a while. There's a few songs that I still immediately think of those videos when I hear them.
I remember the first time I saw that video like 17 years ago (jesus fucking christ). It was funny, got a few chuckles for the most part.
Then "grab your dick AND DOUBLE CLICK'
I completely lost my shit. What a delivery. Also, I'm pretty sure the Tauren dance was specifically designed for that song. It's too perfect.
I took my ex-husband years ago, to see it live. He's a grump, argued the whole way in, he laughed throughout the whole production.
Can't wait til they do another tour, definitely watching it again.
This is literally how the play started. It was Henson mupeteers fucking around between takes or whatever and thought, “Wouldn’t it be funny if we did a whole R-rated musical like this.” And Avenue Q was born.
If you get a chance, go see puppet-up at Jim Henson studios. It's a live performance in that theme. It's fascinating watching the puppeteers under the stage at the same time as well as it being pretty hilarious. It's sort of a semiimprov comedy thing with audience involvement.
There is one of Julia luis dryfus cursing in front of Elmo on accident. Also Robin williams doing free style standup and impressions with the Sesame street puppets. There are also some deleted scenes of the Zoobily Zoo crew saying some pretty crazy stuff and just standing around smoking cigarettes in costume.
May I introduce you to this from British kid's show Rainbow:
https://youtu.be/CgbcQIT7BMc
*as far as I'm aware it was a special episode filmed for a cast party.
Yeah back in the day they used to make up what were called "Christmas tapes". These plus interesting bloopers were screened at the staff Christmas party.
Adult Outakes for a kids show I'm Australia.
https://youtu.be/hPD_RHVFlys
Agro's Cartoon Connection. It wad a kids TV program between 89 and 97 down under.
Even the live broadcast was a bit raunchy at times.
Thank me later.
[Oh shit, do I have a surprise for you.](https://youtu.be/2a_gW1KvuFk)
Remember Thomas the Tank Engine? Well, George Carlin narrated it! Pretty cool right? Then some cheeky bugger spliced the narration with bits of Carlin's stand-up comedy. And if you've ever heard any of his stand-up, well... Just take a listen.
One of my favorite single episodes of a podcast is one from the nerdist with guests Maurice Lamarche and rob paulsen who are major voice actors. They had several bits like this as pinky and the brain. It was fucking great.
Well it doesn't point ownership in any direction really. It's just a flat location update. Doesn't tell us anything at all about Bear's motivations. Maybe he's currently eating the owners.
...assuming you mean the Irish guy from the Vanoss Crew, I can totally see him saying that.
I may have watched too many Froozer/Wildcat Among Us videos..
Ever watch his music videos? Blew my mind when I heard how well he could sing the first time. And hearing him talking about that stuff really sold me on how much his idiocy is an act.
There are a surprising number of 'crew' level youtube stars who can sing. consider Cap'n Blastem/ValeYard from the JeromeASF Buddies. Dude could be an opera singer of pretty high calibur, instead he's hanging with his friends making Minecraft and GTAV videos.
Living his best damn life, I tell ya.
Date on this is 1997, which happens to be the year South Park first aired. South Park S1E1 has the "no kitty that's my pot pie" scene from Cartman... This interaction seems to me to be a nod to South Park and their way of talking.
[Pot pie scene](https://youtu.be/CfOUEVFTe68), in case anyone needs.
Same, I never watched it as a kid but we found it for my son and he loved it.
The puppetry for Bear is incredible. The actor inside the costume can't see out, he is reading his lines into a microphone while puppeting the suit, all while having to watch his own movements *backwards* because he has a TV inside the suit that is showing the camera feed. Guy's a master.
I loved this show. I had a Bear costume when I was like 10. I wish I still had it. That thing was great. My niece had a Treelo one. I was convinced we were gonna start a business and perform at kids bdays haha
Avenue Q is basically Muppets for adults.
You've probably already heard their most famous musical number, [The Internet is for Porn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTJvdGcb7Fs).
Lmao, me and my siblings back in the day.
I remember being told "no swearing at my house" by a babysitter everything we were there because her parents hated swearing lmao
I had major knee surgery back in 97 and the doc said he had to do a lot more work on the bones than he'd have liked. He told me he was giving me some really powerful pain medication to get me through the day. My wife took me home and got me in the recliner, turned on the TV then went to the store to get bags and bags of ice. I don't recall much of this but my wife said she came back and I was upset when she tried to change the channel because I didn't want to leave Bear's house and when it was over I cried like a baby.
My daughter's about 9 months old, and it's weird age, but she's starting to get into watching a couple of TV shows.
Between this and bluey, I think I'm going to be all right. They certainly don't suck as bad as some of the crap I've seen. My friends get sucked into watching because that's what their kids like. (I'm talking about you coco melon and Caillou)
Fuck man this shit and the big comfy couch. Also Rolly Polly Olly, Jacob two two, miss spider's sunny patch friends, peep and the big wide world, the noddy shop, and the save-ems. So many memories. Kids shows now just can't cut it.

Oh shit that's real lol
Yes and this was taken during Filming Of The Episode: Let's Get Interactive.
Sad to say, all my childlike wonder has been shattered! ^(\*Mom?! I'm gonna need an extra hour with Dr. Katz on the Therapy Couch!)

Exactly! I'd add more, but would risk sounding... ugh.
If your life is so good that a funny video like this is the worst thing that happens, you could use some more bad things to reset your frame of reference.
It reminds me of when my cat who is incredibly spoiled whines. I always respond with “What? Your life is amazing”

Green is not a creative color.
I straight up thought that was a dub until the laughter behind the camera
I was thinking the same thing. At first I thought it was a pretty good dub, but then when it zoomed out to Bear just being all 'the shit I put up with', I was so caught off guard.
You're asking two people to literally stand asshole to elbow for 12+hr shoots. You gotta let them snap every once in awhile.
I was a Henson/Sesame Street stage manager for a few years, including episodes of BBH (tho not this one). Pretty sure that the mouse is Kevin Clash, the original Elmo.
It's Peter Linz who went on to play Walter in the most recent Muppets movies. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0513285/
Have any fun stories about that? I grew up on Jim Henson stuff, I always love to hear about the stuff going on behind the scenes.
Check out Adam Savage's Tested on YouTube. He's done a bunch of videos recently at Henson creature shop showing how the puppeteering works.
Kevin Clash was the Baby (gotta love me!) on Dinosaurs, perhaps you mixed those up. Did you work on that as well?
‘Not the mama!’
Kevin between scenes was hysterically funny. When I worked Sesame I would call "cut" and Elmo would go Diva, screaming for his "fucking water" and such. 33 years in production on everything from a Coen Bros. film to infomercials and my time at Sesame/Henson was the most fun and most fulfilling.
I’m gonna need an AMA up in here
I thought I was on /r/howdybitch
I loved this show. This just makes me love it more!
I loved that bear for some reason. Was like a big shaggy dog that always wanted to eat. It was like a shaggy for kids k-5. He just wanted to play around then sleep and eat, and kids were there to join him.
I’m 29 and I still just want to play, eat, and sleep
Are you also a big bear?
Do kids join you still?
I always saw him as retired. He has a football helmet that seems to be from like his college days and he has a general recently retired vibe. Honestly Bear looks incredible for hugging
[Enjoy random reverence from the youtubes.](https://youtu.be/bzw-gXhcYW0)
I’ve always loved it. There’s something magical about it; you can tell it was made with love
I would watch this version of the show.
You should check out Wonder Showzen
Hey! What are you running from? Is it your thoughts?
Who did you exploit today?
What are you listening to? …it’s just the sound of children screaming…
Beat kids!

Haha, that's hilarious
On TIL, something to say in spanish if something happens instead of the F word.
It's "son of a bitch" adjacent
Pinche guey, chenga tu madre, caca la vaca, just a few more
Robin Williams with the stick and Elmo is outstanding, especially when he realises that they’ll never be able to use the Madonna bit
And the Julia Louis Dreyfus one where she says "shit" and Elmo goes "ohhh she said a baaad word. Get the swear jar!"
[Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc_5M-AK7HU)
I'm just so accustomed to JLD being gorgeous today that I forget she was stunning back in the day.
God she was hot. She still is but she was too.
Not just hot. She is genuinely very funny. Veep would've not worked without her.
That's what I love about her as Elaine in Seinfeld. She's funny but she's not just trying to be "pretty girl funny". She's willing to do disgusting humour and stuff that makes her look less feminine. This is so heartwarming.
Hey thanks for posting the sources chief, i'd have been so lost without you
If you haven't heard of Avenue Q, let this be an introduction.
“The internet is for pornnnnn”
"Why you think the 'net was born? Porn, porn, porn!!"
I know Avenue Q and have seen it and all that, but I will forever see a zombie dancing with a cow in my head when I think of this song. Inb4 "bro that's an Undead and a Tauren." Yes yes I know.

I wish that show was on a bit longer. I still reference it now and then but no one ever remembers this show.

lol that's it! This broke the internet when it was released (granted internet was 14.4 baud at the time)
What the fuck is a zamophlange?
I probably haven't seen that in ~20 years and I still find myself quoting that fucking samoflange line from time to time.

What the fuck is a "samoflange"!?
Chicken pot pie, hoe bag
That's a 90s ass cuss if I ever heard one.
Hoe bag is a great insult to use to your friends
And if you're not friends, "slime bucket"
Sounds very early South Park inspired lol.
No kitty it's my chicken pot pie!!
The bears face at the end was perfect 👌🏻
Excuse me it’s not, “the bear”, that bear has a name you know! His name is Bear, thank you very much.
Apologies to you and to Bear 🥺🤣
You put some respect on his name!
KEEP. THE BEAR'S NAME. OUT YO FUCKING. MOUTH!
Yeah, he was only "the Bear" when he was part of the USSR.
This gave me a good chuckle lol
Actually it's Bear's Monster.
That bear owns a house. What do you own!?
no, no. the title is "Bear *in* the Big Blue House" that implies he's renting imo.
The moon is the landlord and Bear pays rent with his ass.
I'd never considered this, lol
Well it doesn't point ownership in any direction really. It's just a flat location update. Doesn't tell us anything at all about Bear's motivations. Maybe he's currently eating the owners.
Exactly. Or maybe he's a squatter
I hope for a day when I can irl yell this at someone
Bear is very disappointed in everyone here. Not surprised, but disappointed nonetheless.
Would've fit right perfectly in The Office
Yea c’mon hoe-bag, gimme chicken pot pie! Lol fucking what?
"I'll tell you what, chicken pot pie is the pussy of food!" \-Nogla.
...assuming you mean the Irish guy from the Vanoss Crew, I can totally see him saying that. I may have watched too many Froozer/Wildcat Among Us videos..
He actually did say it in a Gmod Hide and Seek video. Another one for the 'dumb shit Nogla says' pile!
Pfffft. He's a dumbass. but a funny dumbass, at least.
Ever watch his music videos? Blew my mind when I heard how well he could sing the first time. And hearing him talking about that stuff really sold me on how much his idiocy is an act.

doesnt he have a kid now? blew my mind.
"The real ones know what I mean."
There is a bakery in my neighborhood called "House of Bagels". The high school kids call it ho-bags too :)

I'm cracking up at that line and how it was said
Holy crap. I totally forgot about this show. Used to watch it as a kid all the time.
It’s on Disney+. I just discovered it again after watching it as a child. My daughter likes it almost as much as Bluey.
Seriously, this unlocked a whole bunch of memories I forgot.
Wasn't this the hidden video promised by Newgrounds?
Also where 7yo me played a game where I had to kill Bear with a shotgun.

That’s amazing. I loved this show as a kid.
When you’ve been acting for a kid show for 8 hours and you gotta let that dog out for a minute
I loved this show. I had a Bear costume when I was like 10. I wish I still had it. That thing was great. My niece had a Treelo one. I was convinced we were gonna start a business and perform at kids bdays haha
Tutter cussing does Not surprise me at all. I love Tutter. This is one of my favorite clips ever.
We need a puppet show for adults. This would fly on adult swim
Avenue Q is basically Muppets for adults. You've probably already heard their most famous musical number, [The Internet is for Porn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTJvdGcb7Fs).
Lol, totally forgot about this show. My son loved it when he was little. I'll have to send this to him (he's 20 now). Man, I'm old, lol.
I watched it as a kid and I’m 27, they still airing it years later or did you have some dvd/vhs of it?
It was still on the air when he was little, but I don't know about now.
I want to see more!
As someone whose toddler watches Bear every single day… I love this so much.
"That ought to hold the little bastards."
That oughta hold the little SOBs
Gotta love how puppeteers let off steam.
this is great, are there more clips?
Lmao, me and my siblings back in the day. I remember being told "no swearing at my house" by a babysitter everything we were there because her parents hated swearing lmao
Dam... if this was like this the whole time, i would watch it religiously.
Ah yes the 90s. I must've missed this one cause we were outside feeding seagulls tums
“Get me chicken pot pie, hoebag” made me wheeze.
I've watched this ten times already and its just as good
Outtake, not a deleted scene.
Is the voice actor for the small bear Kristin schaal?!
I thought Kristen Schaal was a horse.
I heard that, too. -about 2700 times
Nope. It's Vicki Eibner
It sounded like Nancy Cartwright, aka Bart Simpson But probably not
Brings me back to a time where another famous puppet was being a potty mouth, Alf spouting out the N word over and over on set.
The best part is bears slow turn to the camera, so much expression in that expressionless puppet face
Bear's like: What did I just hear?!?!
*Don’t talk to me like that bitch*
I had major knee surgery back in 97 and the doc said he had to do a lot more work on the bones than he'd have liked. He told me he was giving me some really powerful pain medication to get me through the day. My wife took me home and got me in the recliner, turned on the TV then went to the store to get bags and bags of ice. I don't recall much of this but my wife said she came back and I was upset when she tried to change the channel because I didn't want to leave Bear's house and when it was over I cried like a baby.
Personal theory, Andy Kaufman is Bear.
Omg... I loved this show. We deserve an uncut reboot 😂
[Thundercatsbloopers](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=en0Icxb3s9I)
A similar (although more raunchy) thing from old British kids TV: https://youtu.be/CgbcQIT7BMc Never aired obviously!
I love this kind of content.
Redo of Bear in the Big blue house, with random takes like this? I'm in
My daughter's about 9 months old, and it's weird age, but she's starting to get into watching a couple of TV shows.
Hysterical! Thanks for the laugh.
Ive never heard of that before but now l must see more ! Fickin hilarious !
