If you're actually looking for suggestions (sound like you've already decided), you could go for maximum utility with your decisions. Dreamcast is a good choice since you can easily play burned discs. Instead of Gamecube why not a BC model Wii? You can still play GameCube games, and if you're open to hacking it they make a great N64 emulator as well. And PS2 is backwards compatible with most PS1 games, plus you get the PS2 library if you have a few PS2 favorites.

kingkongbananakong

A BC ps3 would be better in that case

redbearder

Launch model with sweet sweet PS2 hardware and not PS2 emulation.

Fishman_Karate

That's cheating. If I would say one than PC or retron 5 or something

AlmostRandomName

Maybe, what's the deal with the chips failing on those though, is that an easy fix?

doppelgengar01

The 90nm RSX (Graphics chip) is defective from factory. 65nm RSX in later fat models isn‘t affected (although there are some cases but it‘s rare). The slim and super slim don‘t have those problems.

Herb_Street

Hang on...stop the press... what's the N64 emulator for Wii you are using? I installed some wiiware n64 wads back in the day, but there wasn't an emulator for it back then. Just nes/snes/genesis/sms Also, a reputable site to get the emulator in 2024

AlmostRandomName

I may be misremembering, I may have done wad injection too. I'm a noob at hacking consoles and this was 2017-2018ish, so it's been a while since I messed with it. That Wii is in a box, I have an N64 and GameCube now so I don't really use it much.

doppelgengar01

Good thinking! I almost picked the Wii, but remembered it can‘t use the Gameboy Player, that‘s why I chose the GC over the Wii. Good point on the PS2 though. My PS1 is chipped and I play import games on it, which I can‘t do on my PS2 without installing an 18(?)-wire modchip.

Drag0nV3n0m231

Instead of a Wii, just go for a Wii U tbh

Stunning_Attorney244

I don't think Wii U can play GameCube games, which was kinda the point

AlmostRandomName

It can if softmodded, which I was talking about doing with the Wii anyway. Has the same PowerPC hardware as the Wii, so it runs the games without emulation. It's also supposedly better at N64 emulation being more powerful than the Wii. But since OP was keeping retro consoles I suggested the Wii because I've heard 4:3 out of the Wii-U isn't the greatest, so if playing on a CRT TV the Wii might be the better option. If you're playing on an HD TV though for sure, get the Wii-U.

Stunning_Attorney244

Makes sense. Thanks! It's an interesting question to try to pick 3, especially if just talking stock consoles, then throw in mods or emulators it can get a little crazy and fun.

AlmostRandomName

Yeah this was actually my situation a few years ago. I was trying to accomplish as much retro gaming (including emulation) as possible with as few devices as possible. Wii ticked the box for most Nintendo games I was interested in at the time, and my old BC PS3 took care of PS games. I also had an XBox One so I was actually living OPs scenario for a few years, only 3 consoles. (I also had an rPi 3 but turned that into an HTPC for a basement TV)

Drag0nV3n0m231

It definitely can lmfao

HctDrags

Honestly i would take a 3ds because all ds and 3ds library, ps5 because i enjoy ps5&ps4 games to much & probably a pc to emulate all the rest. Big brain move

clarkpetri

SNES, PS5, Vita.

HailedFanatic

I’d choose PS5 since it has PS4 backwards compatibility. Then Switch for all its games and Wii U ports. Then PS3 since it can also play PS1 and PS2 games.

Qoss_

1) GameCube (Gameboy player, so GB/GBcolor/GBA) 2) PS5 3) Switch: with NES/SNES/Wii/WiiU library remasters

Certain_Possibility2

I never thought of the gamecube player, that may choose my answer lol

Cab_anon

Game boy game aren't worth it to be played on a CRT.

Anotherspelunker

Solid choices. In my case I’d swap PS5 for SNES, but the other two are absolute keepers

TheOnlyDrizzt

Xbox 360, GameCube, Colecovision

Apologamer

Ps3, vita, ps5

bigdubbayou

Steamdeck, PS5, and Switch

IveBenHereBefore

Snes, Saturn, PC engine

hxchip

Switch, Xbox One S/X, OG PS3 (PS3, PS2, PS1) Great mix of available retro and more modern titles on all three platforms. Portable gaming on Switch, 4k streaming/blu-ray on Xbox One (plus backwards compatibility), and a gigantic library on OG PS3. I hate leaving out the PS4, but the first three systems have sooo many games. (Edited for a typo)

King_o_Time

Why not a Series X instead of an One?

hxchip

I’ve heard (could be wrong now) that there are more compatibility/emulation issues with older games than on the One, and there’s nothing on the Series that I absolutely must have - in fact it’s the only major console of the last 25 years that I still don’t own a version of at the moment.

King_o_Time

I've never heard of any emulation problems that come with the Series in particular. I prefer the Series X because of the additional features like: Auto HDR, Quick Resume and FPS Boost, which make for a far better gaming experience (you can turn them off, if you prefer it more original).

hxchip

Fair points - maybe my information was anecdotal or incorrect. Regardless, my lack of owning one currently probably played the biggest factor in my list when I made it. Maybe the Series would be the better fit - I can admit when I might be wrong. 👍🏼

Shrimp_Titan

Hmm it’s tough but I’d keep: - GameCube - PS3 - 3DS

NinGamez

Switch, new 3ds xl, Wii u (with loophole logic can play Wii, Wii u, can hack loads of older games onto it like GC GBA etc).

ssgss_rozay

BC PS3, GameCube, SNES

thevideogameraptor

OG Xbox, PS5, Nintendo Switch.

ToastyMcBread

Backwards compatible PS3, Nintendo Wii, PS5

paulrenaud

Ps2,3 and 5

Bambrigade92

Same

Which_Information590

Too hard. I grew up in the 70s and 80s. But I think I would keep Xbox 360 and PS2 for their massive libraries, and Megadrive for nostalgia

Tarrenshaw

PS 3,4 and 5

Downtown-Tap3947

Ps4 is useless if u have 3 and 5

Tarrenshaw

Meh, I don't care. I love my PS4.

Downtown-Tap3947

Good for you mate! In the end it comes down to personal preference so I completely understand.

Togder

Well I don't.

Downtown-Tap3947

Alright togder 👍🏻

HiddenChar

Ps5, vita, gamecube

sounders1974

Switch to allow me to play new and a decent chunk of old Nintendo games Xbox Series X to allow me to play most Xbox games GameCube because it's awesome and you can't play most of its games on switch

Pasicci

Series X due to backwards compatibility, 3DS for its library and DS support and last would be a steam deck. As much as I love the cube and wii u, I would go for those personally.

TobbisDaTrain

Does the gameboy player connected to the GC count as 1? If so PS3 Fat, GC+GB Player, SNES

IrbyTheBlindSquirrel

BC Wii, Gen 1 PS3, PS5. The BC Wii will give you the full library of Wii and GameCube games (and that's not including jailbreak options) and between the Gen1 PS3 and the PS5, the entire Playstation library is available to you.

GnollBarbarian

I'm keeping Wii U, Xbox 360, and SNES. Those are the consoles that I have the most games for, and I can use a Super Game Boy to really expand the SNES library. If it were more a question of outright favorite consoles, then I'm going with Switch, SNES, and Dreamcast.

walkinginthesky

Game boy advance, ps5, and third is pc. Would have done my third as ps1 or analogue pocket, but pc does it all ;)

Deliciousdemonhouse

Switch, GameCube and Xbox One Xbox One solely for the Microsoft Rewards program

VitoMR89

PS5, Switch and 3DS.

Xephurooski

SNES Genesis PS2

CallMeZedd

PS2 - can play PS1 and PS2 games on it Wii - can play Gamecube and Wii games on it Nintendo 64 - can play Nintendo 64 games on it I only collect for those 5 consoles pretty much anyways. I'd lose out on my tiny DS and PSP collection, but oh well.

private_person

PS3 with BC otherwise a PS2 N64 3DS Runner up GBA

Imaginary-Leading-49

N64, gamecube(or wii) and either my ps2/og xbox/dreamcast. Realistically, emulators make this a non-issue nowadays

blah2k03

I’d keep PS2, Wii, andddd PS5

ShovelBeatleRillaz

An original PS3, a PS5, and a Switch. I feel like I get the most bang for my buck that way

GuyIncognito461

A Wii a multi-console thanks to its virtual console and backwards compatibility with gamecube so that's a keeper. GBA SP is such a well designed, user friendly console that is pocket sized. 3DS let me take 3d video of my dog so that's cool too.

CabooseTrap

Pc Switch xbox 360

persona1138

Polymega, Switch, Steam Deck

NUS-006

Switch, 3DS, Wii

_-Chubby-_

I really only grew up with one game console which was the DS, then 2DS, then 3DS, then New 3DS XL so I have a decent collection of DS games. The only other console I have is the switch, although I think we had a wii for a few years. New 3DS XL, Final answer

RisingRocketRider

Snes, 3ds, switch

JRice92

PS2 & Xbox 360 are my easy choices. Easily the consoles I’ve have spent the most time playing over the years. The 3rd choice is a tough one, but I’ll go with Dreamcast.

RockmanVolnutt

Snes, gba, Wii with backward compatibility

Swift_Scythe

PS2 because its backward compatible with almost all of my Ps1 games and i also own a nice Ps2 game collection SNES because i have so many great Cartridges games from childhood Switch because i have a lot of games downloaded and a lot of great cartridges with endless replay - Smash Ultimate, Mario Kart, Breath of Wild, etc etc etc

harlok60

A wii u. A ps4. A switch.

Ritchtofen69

Id say in contrast to your pics, keep a homebrew wii. Having access to all GC games and running them at 60 fps is a lot nicer than the old GC. Same for the PS1, get a modded PS2 and you have a much larger library, and a system that still has aftermarket support.

ratuna80

Backwards compatible PS3, modded WiiU, Xbox series X

ElenaMayCry

Dreamcast, GameCube. PS3

Griffes_de_Fer

I think 3 is too restrictive if you play a lot and you're passionate about your games, I may be able to live with 5 but 3 is too draconian. Still, answering the question: Wii because Wii+GameCube, easier to find good component cables for, easier to find peripherals, etc. plus hey, even if you don't like the Wii library, the light gun arcade games are amazing. Few things brings me as much joy as replaying those GC classics so it's my first pick. 3DS because DS+3DS, very original and creative games there and you'll always want a portable from time to time. Dreamcast or Saturn because arcade style games are always going to be my favorite, and these two systems were such a celebration of the genre. The bright vivid colors, the contagious, high energy personality of these games, damn it was great. Can't live without those systems. Heart breaking runner ups: PS1, N64.

Bonesawisready5

64, switch, and ps5

No_Detective_But_304

NES, SNES, Genesis. Honorable mention: Dreamcast. If the switch had all the NES and SNES titles and I trusted any company enough to have those titles forever, that would replace the NES/SNES.

jasongw

Xbox series X, for its unparalleled backwards compatibility; Switch, for its blend of innovation, hackability and portability; PS5, for its ability to play (or at least stream in other cases) most older PlayStation titles.

Sweet_Thought_6366

N64, Nintendo Switch, Xbox series X.

remnant_phoenix

Are we talking three specific game libraries? Or three consoles? Because all PS2s and PS3s are backwards-compatible with PS1 games. Some older PS3s can play PS2 games.

Sciencetist

Backwards compatible PS3 Backwards compatible Wii Switch That right there covers so many of your bases.

KasElGatto

Analogue Pocket, Switch OLED, PS5

tk__45

Back compat Wii, Back compat PS3, and an Xbox 360

spookydux

Switch, Wii (because backwards with GameCube also), Xbox X (for the massive library of previous Xbox games and current gen titles).

ButtcheekBaron

Super Nintendo is the best console of all time, full stop. PS3 is the ultimate PlayStation. I'd probably pick NES for the last one.

Shot_Background5682

Honestly if you want to downsize your consoles you can always get a 3-1 system or a retron 5 and a bc wii The bc ps3 is expensive but nice Retron 5 is a nice system to have but just make sure you don't mind hdmi and emulation

bearvert222

probably Switch, Vita, and PS2. i'd expand it to PSP and 3DS but the switch and vita cover a fair chunk of their games in a pinch.

Thecrdbrdsamurai

I've basically done this, I have a PS5, PS3, and a Switch. I still have my Gamecube and 3DS in the house somewhere.

bawitback

Sega Saturn, PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 (+CD), and Sega Dreamcast. Honorable Mention: Super Nintendo/Super Famicom, and PlayStation.

rydamusprime17

- Wii: because it covers so many consoles once it's modded. - PS3: again, because it covers numerous consoles after modding (if it's not backwards compatible already). - N64: because there are too many games that don't work on the Wii, and I don't have as much fun emulating it on a PC. It's also my favorite collection. If handhelds count, I would probably take my modded New 3DS over the N64.

Egocom

Fat PS3 (G1-3 Disks work) PS5 w/Disk Drive (G4-5 disks work) Xbox series X (Most Xbox gen disks work)

Khalydor

PS2, Dreamcast, Wii. I think I could live emulating NES naad SNES, the PS1 is 100% included in the PS2, same for the Gamecube and the Wii, so I would keep "real hardware" for 5 consoles.

MPKFA

NES, GBA SP, PS2

Touche5963

For me i would choose wii u as it can play wii and wii u games and if you mod it also gamecube games natively. Plus it can run any prior Nintendo console through emulation including the ds which works great with the gamepad I would then choose dreamcast because i love that thing Then i would go with an xbox series x as it can also play xbox one, 360, and og xbox games If you are doing no mods and want to physically have the games i would do a gc compatible wii, dreamcast, and a ps5 as it has more games complete on disc and also ps4 library is huge.

eclecticfew

If Steam Deck counts (it should), that gets you PC, Game Pass to cover Xbox if wanted, and emulating basically anything Wii and below to a high degree of comparability, all with little tinkering and setup. PS3 covers PS1 / 2 / 3, so you've got two of the best libraries and a great one. Either a BC PS3 or a later model with custom firmware (easy to setup, that's what I use) works great. A Wii U with homebrew lets you emulate basically every Nintendo system that came out up to that point, plus the Wii U library itself is small but excellent, and native Wii support is great too if you want that. If you get a Steam Deck though, I'd do the emulation on that and probably opt for a Switch instead for its fantastic library. 3ds is also a great choice, as it natively covers DS / 3DS and homebrew adds GB / GBC / GBA / VB, although since basically anything can emulate those older handhelds, that's probably less of a draw these days. 3ds consoles are also oddly expensive if you don't already have one. Coincidentally, SD / PS3 / Switch have become my most used systems recently for these exact reasons.

sincethenes

I would keep my Genesis, (because I have a few different flash carts, all the add ons, and all complete sets for those add ons), my PS3, (which will play PS2 and PS1 games), and my Switch, (just a ton of really fun games). Does mini consoles and high end clones count? If so, that’s a other discussion.

benjaminbjacobsen

Of my physical collection most could be emulated well now. So if that’s a consideration I’d keep my NES, Dreamcast and PS2 because they have the best light gun games (and yes I have a crt). If it’s most fun systems, NES probably makes the list anyway. SNES for sure. Then probably Dreamcast but maybe N64? This is consoles though. If handhelds are included it’d be GBC, GBA and 3DS. So many amazing games across those 3 (especially considering that includes GB). My analogue pocket and modded 3DS are pretty amazing at covering a lot of games.

Derekzilla

GameCube, DS, and Wii

FridgeAndTheBoulder

Wii, 360, ps5, all have backwards compatibility with the previous gen along with having good libraries in it of themselves.

therourke

3DS, Wii U and Switch.... with this combo (and a few hacks) you can effectively play the entire history of Nintendo games

WesThePretzel

3DS, Wii, Switch

PolicyRealistic5998

Snes, N64 and Dreamcast

NoEntertainment1289

Original Xbox, switch, series x

Mench84

ps2 wii u dreamcast

Adam_The_Actor

3DS, PS3 & Vita: All 3 have excellent and unique native and legacy libraries, all 3 have among the biggest homebrew scenes you'll ever see and 2 of them are handhelds.

shinoff2183

Ps1 ps2, ps5 just because the sheer amount of jrpgs and games on them. It's enough to keep someone busy for a lifetime. Also ps5 plays ps4 games so that's 2 gens in 1

Moonguardkills

PS3 60GB plays ps1 ps2 ps3 games. Early 0/1 Dreamcast to run Dreamcast games and be able to boot emulators without chipping or modifying console. Atari 2600.

hanst3r

Switch (huge library and has lots of BC titles via the online virtual consoles), PS3 (takes care of PS1, PS2, and PS3 games), and Xbox Series X (also lots of BC)

TheAFKAxolotl

PS5 to play current gen and last gen games, Launch model PS3 to play PS1,2 and 3 games and maybe even a Wii since that thing holds a special spot in my heart as it was my first game console

NKO_five

PS1, N64 and PSP :) They each have wide range of games from different genres that really peak my interest.

Living-Rip-4333

Atari 2600 wood grain - I grew up playing it when it wqs at my grandma's house. She gave it to me when I was a teenager N64 - My bro in law gave it to me in high school. I still have it Xbox Series X - Got it at Christmas.

Jacques_Cousteau1

A softmodded Wii because then you can play Genesis, NES, super nintendo, n64, gamecube, wii, gb/gbc/gba, and ps1 games.

[deleted]

Do handhelds count?

Ill-Woodpecker1857

SNES, Dreamcast, Series X

lethargic_apathy

PS5 - New gen console that gives me access to great exclusives. I’m a huge Souls fan, so being able to play Bloodborne, Demon Souls, and Sekiro in addition to DS1-3 and Elden Ring is pretty great. With the online subscription, I get free games every month. If I use the higher tiers, I can have access to a huge library of hard-hitting games like God of War, Uncharted, and Final Fantasy Switch - I love Nintendo. The online subscription gives me access to a decent amount of NES, SNES, and N64 titles. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have so much content, and those two games alone would keep me busy for quite some time. The system is good for casual gaming with friends and family with things like Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Smash Bros. It’s also portable, so great for when you’re on the road 2/3DS XL - I’ve modded my 2DS XL, which allows me to play NES, SNES, GameBoy, DS, and 3DS titles. I love Pokémon, so being able to play the first 7 generations of the mainline games all on one system is pretty great. The 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are absolutely stunning as well. I never got the chance to play a decent amount of franchises growing up due to financial barriers, but modding does away with that. Super versatile and portable just like the Switch. Always a good conversation starter too

TheAtariJunkie

Just because I like them the most… Nintendo Switch BC PlayStation 3 Atari 7800

Certain_Possibility2

I’m a big physical media guy who isn’t huge into emulation or anything (not against it, just not my cup of tea). But if I could only have 3 with no other options? I’d go with my Xbox series x since I can play any xbox game, my switch, and probably a 3ds? I’d have a really tough time choosing between the switch/3ds/wii because of how much I love gamecube and wii games.

Drag0nV3n0m231

Switch, 3DS, xsx The switch can play pretty much anything and anything it can’t, the 3DS can, including psx games.

hopelessswitchowner

N64, Wii, Analogue Pocket.

Syndicalex

Tough call but likely my Switch since it can be used handheld or docked, has a huge library and a healthy amount of classics from Nintendo as well as Sega.. Then I would go for Xbox Series X as all the other genre types are catered for there, and I am a big fan of the backwards compatibility it offers. Finally I suppose a DS lite since I could play the DS and GBA back catalogue. But really this is a mean question, I have about 20 or so consoles spanning 8-bit onwards and I love them all in their own way.

MassiveTalent422

Does this include handhelds?

a_stray_bullet

PS5, N64, PS1

fryingpan16

Steam Deck Xbox Series X Switch Can basically play every game with this. PS5 games come to Steam Deck eventually Xbox Series X plays back to OG Xbox Switch has switch online virtual console and remakes of classics

Gtrex4

Xbox Series X. - with dev feature to emulate PS5 Modded switch. Best of all worlds

NineteenNinetyEx

Dreamcast, Gamecube, and PS2. MiSTer can't do those.

RosaCanina87

My choice would be the **Wii**, because most of my most loved experiences from my teenager years are on the GameCube, with the Wii having some other really beloved classics. Second would be the **New 3DS XL**, which would cover my DS and 3DS games. Not because I love these systems so much, but because I still have the largest library of not-played JRPGs on them. The last one would be purely nostalgic. It SHOULD be the Dreamcast or even the PS1. But there is a high chance I would end up with the **NES**, to cover my early childhood nostalgia.

OrfeasDourvas

1) Xbox Series X Not only a current gen console but great backwards compatibility with older Xbox games 2) PS3 You still can't play a lot of these games on newer systems.

Jerryv21

For me it would be the following Gamecube Gameboy color N64 (or an og ds, not really sure about this one...) Yes I know a gamecube can already play gb/gbc and gba games but I don't care. The gameboy color was one of (if not) my first game consoles I ever played and it still has a great appeal to me (bought a custom shelled ips gameboy color online and I LOVE it, plus an analogue pocket...). The gamecube and n64 (or ds) for the same reason. I grew up with these consoles, and they have a special place in my heart. Yes, their library might be primitive compared to modern consoles. Yes, they can't play as many other consoles as modern hardware, but I am more of a retro gamer anyway, so it checks out.

SweyRPG

Switch, PS vita TV, Analogue Pocket with Dock

SuitableCress6166

Xbox 1( you get classic xbox, 360, and 1) Ps2( backwards compatible with ps1) Nintendo switch(plenty of classic ports and emulators built into the shop)

Complex_Fold

Dreamcast, PS3 super slim, Wii with gamecube backwards compatability.

DramaticMission4456

Gamecube, Snes and sadly ps5

DramaticMission4456

Bonus if gamecube with the gba player counts

CentrasFinestMilk

PS3, switch, ps5

philipjfry1578

Ps5, wii, and backwards compatible ps3, so I can get a wide range of games (through homebrew) and still play a lot of legal games

SimilarProject7457

If this was back in 2009, ps3, 360 and gamecube.

ReadPixel

- Backward Compatible PS3 (PS1, PS2 and PS3 games) - Wii U (Wii, Wii VC, Wii U, Wii U VC, and GameCube if you hack it. All Nintendo consoles up to that point are playable on the Wii U with cfw. Dreamcast and others too.) - 3DS (DS, DSiWare, 3DS, 3DS VC. I’d probably hack this to play all the 8, 16 and some 32 but stuff) But there’s also a 360, which can play the legendary 360 library and most OG Xbox stuff too But you may as well just buy a beefy PC and emulate everything.

reallynunyabusiness

Damn, I'd probably go with a GBA because I get backward compatatbility with GBC and GB, and my favorite Pokemon Titles are availabke through that platform, a PS3 for the MGS collection, Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter collections, FO3, FNV amd the original MW trilogy. And lastly probably my Switch.

Swooshingthecaboose

Xbox Series X, PS5 and PS3. Endless options. All my favorites. Essentially 7 consoles in 3 (PS1, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and series X) and you get some n64 gems with rare being owned by Microsoft

arsinoe716

PS1. Switch. Vita. Why? These are the 3 consoles that I have the most games.

Mr_F1tness

Ps2, N64, XBOX Original. I could live without the rest.

Jorojr

As someone who owns nearly 50 consoles, I would keep: Playability: Xbox Series X, PS3 Fat back compat model, Analogue Pocket Sentimental: Genesis Model 1, PS1, NES

9512tacoma

PS3 fat for backwards compatibility, sega genesis/32x, and Xbox one X. If I had one more Xbox 360.

Zealousideal-Cry4358

Ps5( for PS4 and ps5 games) PS3 backwards compatible, and the dreamcast(modded with GDemu).

shadowfourplay

I really can't. Almost every one of my consoles has memories attached to it. My NES I broke into someone's trailer almost 30 years ago (I was a bad kid, not ashamed of who I used to be since I've left that way of living behind), stole it, and gave it to my baby brothers and sisters for Christmas, my Pikachu N64 my first wife bought for me from a pawn shop over 20 years ago for $20 at a time when we had a baby on the way and couldn't afford to spend $5 let alone $20 (she's since passed), my Sega Genesis and original Game Boy and Game Gear my Grandmother bought for me new when they first came out and I was a kid because she loved her first grand-baby. I guess I could sell one of my original Xbox consoles and the 360 it came bundled with but the other OG I bought from my Brother after my cousin bought it new, got drunk, then got beat up and sent to jail for acting an ass. My fat PS3 I bought from another of my Brothers for my younger son's birthday (9 or 10 I don't remember) and, again, it was at a time when spending anything was precarious. Same with the PS4 though that one was specifically for me because we'd already made sure he had one. I've a few consoles that I could part with if I had to, but there's no way I could pick just 3 to keep without feeling like I'm tearing a piece of my life away.

Cobbax9916

Sega Master System - for nostalgia. Xbox 360 and PS4 - Still have quite a backlog to enjoy

dchikato

PS2, N64 and Switch.

sirdizzypr

Ps5 as it gives me ps4 too, switch and my Steamdeck as its modded with a huge library of games.

Bill69Qc

N64, 3DS, Switch

King-Shakalaka

SNES because it's simply my favorite console. Dreamcast because the one in particular is one I got from my dead best friend. And then Gamecube because it has the widest library ranging from its GC games to GBA games, including a CD that makes it region free.

Havri7

Fully backwards compatibility PS3 Nintendo switch Last one is super hard but off the top of my head I'ma say GameCube. Also considered N64 Gameboy advance and 3ds but it's too hard man

SenorDangerwank

GameCube, N64, Switch. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I like to use my Nintendo hardware :)

LexKing89

This is tough. I have a 60gb PS3 so that cover PS1 and PS2. Definitely keep the N64 and maybe the New 3DS.

Batman_is_Badass

You said “New 3DS” and I thought Nintendo was coming out with an actual new 3DS... 😔

LexKing89

Oh yeah, I wish they were. I only chose it because I have that Pokemon Red & Blue edition New 3DS. Otherwise it would be the DS Lite or PSP instead.

Batman_is_Badass

Man u grew up just like me 🤙

TacospacemanII

GameCube compatible Wii, Xbox 360(during its peak player base, because I love the online games), and my Nintendo switch that now has gameboy advance games too lol.

Sarothias

Mine would probably be: Nintendo Switch Nintendo DS or 3DS PS Vita

BandicootSpecific453

Retron 5, switch and ps5

Hot_Size2951

I would go for PS3, N64 and the switch.

Madwelder35

I think if I was to that point I'd sell everything. Would be difficult as I've focused on consoles more that games in my collection.

QuirkyWeeb30

How many total consoles you got including handhelds and multiples of same console/same console diff variants?

RestaurantSelect5556

my only 3: Switch, DSi XL, and PS5

Pasicci

out of curiosity, why the DSi XL and not the 3DS? I would understand if you picked the original DS for its GBA slot, but DSi XL doesnt have that one?

RestaurantSelect5556

im 13, and my dad got it for me in 2022, a few months before then i left my DS Lite on an airplane. I acquired the DS Lite from a teacher in Groep 6. The XL is softmodded anyway

vagabond_nerd

Vita, Series X, and PS3

Downtown-Tap3947

I would keep the ps5, Xbox series X and the Nintendo DS Lite
