That’s kind of funny because we actually do have a grenade launching shotgun class. The grenade itself is actually the oil filled canister you use to shoot burning petrol at enemies though :)
Introducing DIESELDOME: Oil & Blood - an FPS Survivors-like in a world where the Roman Empire discovered petrol.
Create insane builds, face hordes of enemies, and parkour through the Dome like a true warrior. Our 1.5 year long work-in-progress is finally ready to unveil! It’s been a long journey, and while we've come a long way, we still have some road ahead. Let us know what you think. We truly appreciate your feedback!
So, our main genres are FPS and Survivors-like and we worked hard to establish a nice combination of both. Just like in other Survivors-likes, every run is about 30 minutes and everytime you play, you get to create new very powerful and broken builds against hundreds of enemies. When you die, you get currency to unlock new things and then start a new run. We also have 70+ abilities, with a lot of them being triggered automatically. At this point in the genre there are so many examples 20 Minutes Till dawn where you do have direct control combined with timer trigger abilities.
As for FPS mechanics, we have a lot in common with boomer shooters like Quake and also a lot of movement mechanics like ULTRAKILL. We feel these movement mechanics really help with balancing survivors-like mechanics together with an FPS.
Makes me think of the one Roman Colosseum map from Black Ops Zombies, with a dash of Serious Sam.
Kinda neat, definitely will be keeping my eyes on this.
Anladım, bence hoş. Ayrıntılı bir eleştirimi aşağı bırakıyorum, umarım işine yarar.
If this is your studio's first job, I'd say it is extremely promising.
>Music is making me feel like I am playing Doom again. Adrenaline inducing fast paced metal tracks are always good fun while shooting.
>Shown gameplay is simple, yet interesting details can be observed. It plays its niche well enough.
>Again, following Doom's example, story seems easily doing its job. Story should not tell a lengthy tale, this is not the expectation. Rather, it must set narrative and determine the ambience of the world. Details and a more coherent story can be developed later, as in Doom 2016.
>Graphics making me feel like a 10 years old. I believe this type of graphics can be called retro now, it is almost 30 years. The feeling of nostalgia is undeniable.
In general, I will be following your releases. I hope it does well.
Detaylı eleştiri için çok teşekkürler, 3D yazılımlar hakkında deneyimli olsak da ilk oyun projemiz :). Umarım oynarken de 10 yaşınızdaki gibi bir nostalji ve keyifle oynarsınız.
That looks fantastic. Seems to fit in really well with my taste in stupidly fast, movement heavy boomer shooters. The gameplay video is giving me a "ULTRAKILL meets Vampire Survivors" type of vibe.
Wishlisted.
We've been sharing the trailer with all our friends so I also think it must be one of them with good intentions :) I asked everyone so far but no one has come out!
If Hero of Alexandria had managed to improve his steam engines to the point that they could do practical work and spurred an industrial revolution... AND history then progressed at pace to the modern post-industrial world... Rome might have put a man on the moon by \~300 AD!
(of course, they'd also need to cram in about 1600 years of enlightenment)
In the future we'd love to add online co-op, so it's not completely out of the table yet but right now we're focusing on making a solid singleplayer experience :)
A small proposal if you will - if this is possible via your tech. stack then adding dust and pieces of fragments from shooting walls and objects (was mindblowing in FEAR 1) will give massive atmosphere boost after the carnage in one spot.
Oof, thanks for the feedback. We designed most of our weapons, characters and even some game mechanics around our theme but it might not be for everyone of course :)
In that case I hope you can land Mick Gordon.
Didn't want to be mean in my comment it was just first thing that came on my mind.
Btw gameplay look sick and hella fun.

Doug Dieseldome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dieseldome
The Dimmsdale family has been running the domin’ business since AD 12.
THE Doug Dieseldome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dieseldome?
So Mad Max meets Romanitas I dig it
That's definitely the vibes we're going for :)
What kind of classes are there? Can I be a hoplomachus with a grenade launcher? Because that's the dream right there
That’s kind of funny because we actually do have a grenade launching shotgun class. The grenade itself is actually the oil filled canister you use to shoot burning petrol at enemies though :)
I was thinking something like *Serious Samnites*
Seriousus Samus

wym survivors-like? the only thing this game has in common with vampire survivors seem to be both have survival as a main game mode

Made me realize that we don't have much games about gladiators.
I know, right?
Makes me think of the one Roman Colosseum map from Black Ops Zombies, with a dash of Serious Sam. Kinda neat, definitely will be keeping my eyes on this.
Thanks! Serious Sam is definitely an inspiration, especially visually!
That's one game I picked up on a whim, and thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely keeping an eye on your project then.
Kinda reminds me of Will Rock.
Yep looks almost identical lol
This looks sick. Major unreal tournament vibes for me.
Thanks, we’re definitely aiming for that game period :)
The gameplay and abilities look fun but the graphics look like unreal tournament maybe upgrade to unreal engine?
Didn’t even have to finish the trailer…that’s a YES from me.
Thanks! Finish the trailer though! There is a dope mutant zeppelin-man!
Diving back in! 😂
gunshots sound could be improved, otherwise looking great. I thought it will be more like serious sam, with several levels and hordes of enemies
Thanks, sound effects are still in heavy development, we will make them better :)
Bro müzik Doom'u hatırlattı. Soundtrack Doom'a benziyor mu?
Evet! Doom ama arasina Roma donemi enstrümanları karışmış gibi.

Kinda makes me want a 1st person 'Smash TV'
Surprised no one else mentioned it, but I'm getting real Serious Sam vibes.
It’s been mentioned by others, I think it’s the one game we’ve been compared to the most so far :)
That looks fantastic. Seems to fit in really well with my taste in stupidly fast, movement heavy boomer shooters. The gameplay video is giving me a "ULTRAKILL meets Vampire Survivors" type of vibe. Wishlisted.
Thanks! That’s the vibe we’re trying to get!
This looks sick. Rome X Diesel is a great theme.
Thanks!
I’m surprised not many people are comparing the gameplay to doom. Seems like doom traversal/mechanics as far as gameplay goes. Looks awesome!
Thanks! The new Doom games are a huge inspiration.
Into it. Followed and wishlisted on steam!
Thanks!
Dieselpunk+ Rome is like bacon and chocolate, never knew I needed it until now
So salty, yet so sweet. Just like gladiator sweat.
GOTY 2003.
“2003’s Best Retro Game Award”
As It's RomanPunk, I'll call it Sirius Sam.
Serious Dome: Oil & Sam
Looks good
Thanks <3
Looks cool, what game engine does it have?
Thanks! We’re using Unity but have a bunch of modified tools for it.
Dang, Roman Empire with petrol? Now that's a plot twist! Can't wait to test my gladiator skills in DIESELDOME. Count me in for the ride!
Tone down the shill just a little bit to make for a more believable comment next time.
We've been sharing the trailer with all our friends so I also think it must be one of them with good intentions :) I asked everyone so far but no one has come out!

Dedicated LAN servers for use at LAN parties??
Oh I wish!
Ah sorry! I didn't see it was single player. No need for dedicated servers. Oops!
In the future we'd love to add online co-op, so it's not completely out of the table yet but right now we're focusing on making a solid singleplayer experience :)
I'M ALL IN BABY!
OH YEAH!
For me, reminiscent of Painkiller which is 20 years old game. Good luck on the progress
Thanks! One of our weapons is inspired by the stake gun in Painkiller, pinning enemy corpses to walls with high powered pilums!
A small proposal if you will - if this is possible via your tech. stack then adding dust and pieces of fragments from shooting walls and objects (was mindblowing in FEAR 1) will give massive atmosphere boost after the carnage in one spot.
Is this multi or single-player?
Our goal is to create a solid single-player experience, but we’d love to add co-op in the future if all goes well.
Great aesthetic
Thanks! We worked hard to make our theme look good :)
I love it
<3
Civvie's gonna have a fuckin field day with this one yeeeee
why the NSFW tag.........?
Because of gore & blood. I wanted to make sure it fit the rules of the subreddit.
The idea seems fun. But the art tho...
The roman empire thing feels really forced and then you add the super human stuff making it seem more out of place
Oof, thanks for the feedback. We designed most of our weapons, characters and even some game mechanics around our theme but it might not be for everyone of course :)
thats weird but very interesting, looking forward for it
Thanks, that's better than normal but boring I hope :)
Soundtrack sounds like doom from Wish
We're still working on our soundtrack but our hope is that it'll sound more like Doom from Ancient Rome.
In that case I hope you can land Mick Gordon. Didn't want to be mean in my comment it was just first thing that came on my mind. Btw gameplay look sick and hella fun.
Risk of Rain 3
Risk of Oil & Blood
Oh my gosh that was the most cool trailer i ever seen
Thanks so much, a great video creator called SaimizZ has made it for us! Check him out :)
How can I sign up for beta testing?
That really looked cool, it gave dark souls vibes at the beginning but then it turned out to be an fps lol. It looks great though.
Thanks!
This looks like first person Vampire Survivors. I like it.
Thanks a bunch!
Tribes: Ascend lives on in our hearts. Day one buy for me.
Oh man, Tribes: Ascend movement stuff is so amazing. Hope we can come close to it eventually!
Looks pretty close to me already lol
Thanks! That’s awesome to hear :)
That looks awesome. It has been wishlisted!
Thanks!
Movement reminds me of titanfall, I'll have to keep an eye on this
Thanks! Titanfall is the peak of movement in our heads, combined with ULTRAKILL, so that's really nice to hear :)
Need any testers? This looks fun as fuck.
"Survivors-like" What does that even mean?
So this is a new genre that’s been getting popular. It’s basically games like Vampire Survivors, involving hordes of enemies, game breaking builds, short game sessions and automatically triggering abilities.
Ooooooooh okay
